Barb, it's just made my Christmas to know you are home. Dang, it seems we keep getting socked by more all the time the older we get.

We are back home. We almost didn't come as it was snowing heavily downstate, it was forecast to be a two day storm. The roads were terrible down there and with the complication of last minute shoppers, it was pretty hazardous. My youngest son gives me a Barnes & Noble gift card every year, I hadn't had a chance to spend last years, we don't have one up here, and now i had two and a ready list of books I wanted. I prefer the one in Rochester as it has a large used book section and my gift cards go further. I sent hubby to the coffee shop to get himself a special concoction while I found my books.
We also stopped at the Veterans cemetery in Holly. Last week-end was Wreaths Across America in all the national cemeteries. My uncle is in this one as is my SILs parents. I thought he might like a photo of his dad's wreath. Had to wade through about 5 inches of snow without boots to locate his site. It was many miles before my toes were warm again.
Once we passed Flint, the roads actually improved so the rest of the trip was rather easy. We did see a vehicle totally engulfed in flames neat North Branch. Couldn't even tell what it was the fire was so intense. I sure hope all involved escaped. It didn't seem to have crashed so probably so.

We had a wonderful trip and were urged to stay but I knew all had plans that we could have gone to but I was ready to come back. Having fun is hard work. Wishing all a Very Merry Christmas.

Merry Christmas everyone. I lurk everyday but usually do not post. It is 8pm and I still have the kitchen to clean up because Vern just finished dinner.

He is doing better and has gained 9 pounds. Even looks better. I have help that comes everyday from 10am until 1pm. Then I have someone that comes at 9 to 10pm to help me get him in bed.

I add you all to my daily prayers and keep you in my thoughts.

I have an Instant Pot and it really helps me make full good meals with less effort and clean-up. Got my daughter one fr Christmas and I know she will discover many different uses.

I wish you all good health, Barb, so glad you are home from the hospital for Christmas. Betty, lay off the Chinese food No way can it be good for you. First thing my Dr. took off my menu, KFC was close behind along with just about anything canned. Sodium is off the chart in those.

Merry Christmas and a Happy, Healthy New Year. Sharon....

Praise the Lord, Barb's home! Always nicer to be in your own wee bed and especially over the holidays!

May you all have the merriest of Christmases, remember to take time for yourself, and know that I consider all of you my blessed family. I sincerely love you all, though sometimes I don't express it well. Thank you for being here, so I can keep in touch with you

MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone.....

Ziggy must be anxious to open his Christmas pressie as he is been up/downon this bed since 4pm trying to encourage me to get up, if I were alone would have gotten up but I don’t want to wake anyone.

Sure hope weatherman is wrong re today’s weather forecast, hate to see jeff and kids head out in the storm.

Sharon, great news re hubby..if I cooked more I’d invest in an instant pot, it’s a combination slow cooker and pressure cooker right?

Karen with winter ahead of us glad you were able to stock up on reading materials.

Enjoy your day..
Barb, hoping today is a good day for you.sending hugs for Norm, know he was worried sick about you.

Once boys leave I’ll have the day to clean up..still have mom’s quilt on frame, might even get a bit more done onit.

She asked if we could go to Buffalo thursday and come home Saturday morning so weather permitting works for me.

Morning all,

Winter wonderland here this morning, I’ve already been out and done the staircase and 1/2way to basement entrance..I would not be exaggerating to say we got 1 1/2 ft of snow and still coming down big time.

Waiting on Andrew to come do my drive, I want to move car so he can do a wide area otherwise next heavy snowfall (today) he will start to have problems with where to put snow, right now the drive is 2 car widthbut that will soon change.

Had a cousin coming to visit today but I’m sure she will cancel out and I don’t blame her..

Sharon, hard to imagine you are still bringing 8n roses while my Cardenas are covered in over 2 feet of snow ..ahhh look at peanuts, too cute!

Debbie will be watching for weather for sure before taking off..last few times I spoke with mom she was saying how nervous she is travelling, even to her local mall so I’m sure if there is a flake in the offing she will not want to go.

Coffee time

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

It's good weather to stay inside and sew or cuddle up with a good book. I have company on the road to here , in Ohio now, hope their travels are uneventful.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Andrew just came, said this is the most snow in one fall he had seen 8n a d3cade amd I believe it.

I just went and moved my car for him and shovelled again, easier doing it every few hours vs wait8ng..we are to get yet another significant amount today, wow, winterwinderkand for sure.

Am sure our Boxing Day sales today will do poorly (like your Black Friday sales) as not many can get out of their yards and roads are treacherous.

Hope your family make it without mishap as wellkaren, you will be worried until they get there.

Maybe I’ll go downstairs and take inventory re a few quilts I want to do and make a list for joanns should weather allow a tripto buffalowith mom

We had a lovely Christmas, with 7 of us for dinner, and no one went away hungry, or with a lack of Christmas in their hearts.

Got a phone call this morning from my Sister - our mom has passed away. I'm glad I got to sing her favourite hymn to her a few days ago. She lived to the grand age of 98. I'll be flying to be with my siblings and be at the service. Not sure when that is.
I sent the obit to my sister Ruth. This makes both of my parents having passed around Christmas. My dad passed on Dec 12, 1986, and now my mom on Dec 26th.

Victoria Harbour, ON

My condolences Susan, it’s easy for me to say ‘she lived a good long life’ but none the less a very difficult time for you..you will indeed miss her.

Glad that you will be able to go for the funeral and be with your sibblings..hugs

I am so so sorry for your loss, Susan. So glad you have the memory of singing her favorite hymn for her. Prayers of strength for you to help get you through.

I have some cherished memories of mom, and am also glad I was able to see her in May & sing to her the other day.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending prayers for you and your family.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Thank you for your condolences

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sending my deepest sympathies Susan. May she rest in peace.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

So sorry Susan. But she is singing in a much bigger chorus now.

My Mom was in rehab just before she died and I went their every day for 7 hours. Just before lunch. The minute she saw me she would ask me if I wanted to share a Pepsi? She didn't talk much but her eyes lit up beautifully every time she saw me and I always told her I will get us both one. I still remember those smiling eyes.

Photo is a succulent bloom that just opened this morning. Just about looks like a star flower except petals are soft

Morning all, cold one out there, I’m in a winter wonderland, nice to look out amd see it from inside but maybe not so much when I put out the garbage at roadside, got to push myself and get out there.

Must have been more tired than I thought yesterday, did nothing but lay on the chesterfield..lazy lazy lazy..

How are you doing Barb, you’ve been in my thoughts and prayers..

Dianne and Debbie did you both get all this snow?

Susan, memories is what holds us together when losing someone we love.

Sharon, lovely bloom, so envy you having these flowers.
