Well hello Everyone!
Oh my gosh, so much going on with everyone!!
Spent the morning reading and catching up.
Barbara, So sorry to here about Norm's job...I sure hope the unemployment kicks in quickly, Well I know out here, once all the paper kicks in...the weekly check in are done by phone, I hope it is that way by you as well. Keeping fingers crossed everything well and who knows, maybe there is something better for him nice and close to home.

Awe, Deb so sorry to hear about Charlotte, poor pup...

Waving Hiya Dianne, so smiling about your found book marks! Hope your projects are coming along nicely. I know totally understand wanting to be a Grandma I secretly have been so jealous every time I was hearing about friends being Grandma's, lol

Well, as of today we are counting down as I keep as busy as I can.
19 Days, yes 19 more days of growing and waiting, My poor baby is so ready, lol she is so swollen her feet hurt terribly. Otherwise she is feeling really good, as you know lots of sleeping going. Baby is right where she is suppose to be in position..the anticipation is maddening, lol.

But, This past week has been insanely busy, I had to make a huge decision. Staying home for the weekend opposed to an overnight stay in MN to witness my Son fulfilling his ultimate dream! Yes, yes He is Vending at Sub Octave festival.
I've been bursting with Pride watching him prepare and helping pack. I hope and pray it is successful and goes smoothly...Got to smile, what better to vend FOOD, lol and hopefully he sells it all or a good majority. The learning experience alone has been good. Poor kid didn't realize just how much food he was taking it all had to be repackage, coolered and reloaded. He did take a tent so hopefully it is enough to work under since it is raining there All day today, it could mean business is really good, fingers crossed. Anyway, I'm not going anywhere until Lily is born so I am Bird sitting, Grand bird is doing well but he sure is very quiet when the kids are gone, he spends a lot of time looking for them.
Oh, Dianne I was sorry to hear of Streak gone over Rainbow bridge.
So, 2Buds 1Joint opened it's doors as of 12:00P.M. yesterday...No pics of Set up but, lol the proud Momma took a few of the loaded truck and trailer!!

Good afternoon,

Thank you for the birthday wishes. Much appreciated. I had a nice day and if you saw facebook, saw some of the pictures.

Betty, prayers to Mel & Charlie. I think they did the right thing to let people say good bye to Charlie. Not being able to do so....can leave more scars than the other.

Regarding the snakes your way. Remember the drive to the Cranberry fest? Signs for "snake crossing" and warning about hitting them! We had them in Florida for the black snakes also. I am not fond of snakes at all. Almost died from a water moccasin as a toddler....my dog saved me! But here, I have stepped on a few garder snakes...poor things....bare foot. I swear they screamed but scurried off as I jumped 10 feet and bee-lined for the house.

Dianne we have the heat and humidity here also. Rain was mostly this week, birthday was the only day it didn't pour! Can't wait to see the pictures of remodel and pup yard.

Yes my Izzy lost about 6 inches of her massive tail...my DS accidentally slammed it in the door. Then the booger ate the bandage off of it on the way home from surgery! Her tail was so long you never realized some of it was missing.

Judy so excited about the new baby. Love the name.

Hugs to you all
Debbie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Judy, sounds like you are staying busy, and I know waiting 19 days is going to seem like forever. Can't wait to see pictures of Lily.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hi there Judy, here is hoping she carries less than the 19 days remaining..can imagine how anxious grandma Judy is. Love the photo's, Jacob is making you pro

Debbie, smiling because I too the other day rememnpbered our trip to the balance cranberry marsh, they were advertising cranberry juice and were walking in the marsh, said 'self'yiu did that lol. Yes strange seeing all the beware of snakes signs as seen inur Muskoka travels. Glad you enjoyed your birthday, you deserved a sunshine day.

Hot and humid, just taking a run to the municipal dump then some shopping, need a few things before leaving on Friday.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

So much happening in people's lives here, joy & sorrow both.
*Hugs* to everyone for joy & sorrow - know you appreciate & need them.

Busy day for me - Susan arriving tomorrow!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Had a dental appointment today .. $345.00 for a FILLING !!! Not covered by insurance !!

Hope everyone has a great weekend .... :-)

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Holy wah, doesn't take long "M" for your allowance to be used up and not for a fun activity..costly for sure.

Susan, go to bed early that way tomorrow will be here sooner lol

Did a run to municipal dump, me and 100 others, don't think Walt Disney has a line up as long as the one I was in..everyone must have same idea, purge purge ..also washed my car and vacuumed it, ready for Friday's trip..getting ahead of it, already packed my bag.

Was thinking of trying to purge a tad more, maybe in the morning make another run, early though so that everyone is sleeping and not at the dump..

Uneasy, know what Mel and family are going through and I feel so bad, keep expecting phone to ring.

Hugs and prayers for all.
Betty, take it EASY and don't overdo! Go into that vacation fully charged and rested. Purging will still be available when you get back!
Ziggy would have less time on his paws to get in trouble if you could teach HIM to quilt. Think of the help he could be!
My Dad is still hanging in there, not quite as grumpy. I have managed to get in to see him every day. Sometimes I'm lucky and can schedule an appointment/
assessment near where he is staying at the AFH (Adult Family home) and use only my 1/2 hour lunch (and not count time for traveling there & back) , other times I have to use some vacation time. Either way, it's especially important while my sister is recovering from knee surgery and can't visit yet. Sure racking up the miles as I'm taking my personal car so I can see Dad. Can't stop if I'm in one of the company cars. Our work is all over 2 counties.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Pat - I could just SEE Ziggy cutting threads for Betty - hmmmmmm there's a thought lol
Glad you're getting to see your Dad & helping your sister who can't get to see him. I hope that she's recovering well - tell her to keep up the exercises!! I didn't, at first, and my muscles tightened up. Now I have another one coming up in Sept, and you can bet that I'll be exercising more!
Betty - I've been telling Susan she needs to get to bed early, but she says she'll be sleeping on the plane. You can bet I won't be sleeping lol
I'm wallpapering my dining table. Someone scorched it in several places and it looked horrid, so...... wallpapering it is the way to cover it up, funkily lol
I'm not finished, but this is what it looks like, so far, with the leaf needing to be covered yet. Decided to do cut-outs for the matching chairs :-)

Susan, that looks nice, but how are you going to wash the table when it gets dirty. Is the wallpaper waterproof? Are you going to seal it with something?
Enjoy your visit with Susan.
WOW "M", that is a lot of money for a filling.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning,

Just got back from the landfill site, pleased at what I purged the last 2 days..will do more when I get back,

Could feel rain drops while emptying my car, sky is heavy, am sure it's on its way.

Made sure I through 3 ratty bra's in garbage I took to dump so I'd be forced to buy new ones..dropped into Walmart and bought 3, Lordy expensive, $27.99 each, oh well they were needed. Might look for a few more while state side. I've about 5 good ones but cannot stand wearing wired bra's, must have been a sale going on lol

Pat, it's not a wonder you are tired, trying to fit dad, Benand your sister's needs ahead of yours..what a strong lady you are. Too bad about the miles you are putting on but worth it spending precious time with your dad..how is your sister doing?

Susan I'd have bought oil cloth, such a beaiputiful piece of furniture, a good sanding and oiling is what it needs to look rich once again.

Was up so early that itfelt like lunch time, so already had lunch, I'm not trying to decide if I should head downstairs or relax..brought a knitting project I had started before Christmas and set it near the couch so I could knit for a bit.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Stores here don't carry my size, so I have to order them online. My bras are $50.00 a piece, $25,when I can find them half price.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Wow, an awful price to pay..was just thinking I'm my own worse enemy, put them in the wash with other clothing and they get stretched to no end so going to buy a mesh bag and make sure they re out into the washer in the bag..just cleaned another area and lo and behold about 100 Victorian Santa fabric panels, remember the sleighs we made on our craft day?? Maybe I will do a kids workshop in November at a brownie or girl gipsies group to try and get rid of them ..they were so adorable!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Holy cow! a 100 more panels???

Sis is healing well but in a lot of pain. Doing her physical therapy, the only getting out that she is doing. Her husband is lousy nurse but that's another story.

Dad simply HATES the AFH and wants OUT! I'm afraid he will pressure my sister to have him come home sooner than SHE should have him home. I have talked to Ben & son again about the possibility of him coming here for a while. I'm afraid if Sis thinks I am taking him home to my house, SHE will try to take him home too soon! Does not seem to be any easy solution. I'll try to talk to her about it today.

Ok, off I go. LOTS to do.

Sending prayers for Barb & Norm, that he gets a decent job soon and all will be well. Lack of employment is a HUGE blow to man's ego.

Lyndonville, NY

I think the Victorian santa was before I joined in. But you went to town cutting didn't you! Yes, I watch JCPenney for their sales on bras. I can't wear the wire either. Online at either Kohls or JCP is it.

DH is home for a week. God help me.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

It's a scrubbable, washable wallpaper, plus I'm going to put polyurethane on it. Having "fun" matching it though lol The leaf is wider than the wallpaper roll. I will end up splicing it.
Susan's on the plane now, from Toronto to Calgary!

Victoria Harbour, ON

lazy this afternoon, been napping..

Debbie, keep forgetting about khol's..hmm too bad it wasn't the week after paul is home, you could have done the roadtrip with us gals..

Susan, once you do that make over you'll not be able to refurbish it, love the look of the wood. So susan is flying over me to you lol

Pat, I thought your dad was in a home as his residence? Lordy you have so much on your plate now and you are thinking of adding more?

Big yawn, should get up and do something

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

"For better or for worse, but NOT for lunch!" LOL

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - it's laminated wood, so only a thin layer - it has several scorch marks, scratches (that I can fix otherwise) and I've tried to stain it but it won't work. It was either paint it, or get rid of it and get something else, or keep it covered up all the time. It really was unsightly. I love wood too, but this wasn't lovable.
In our house, the more wood, the better, but not if it's unsightly.
I would be able to take off the wallpaper - like taking it off a wall, and the poly will make it cleanable, but I'll still be able to remove it.
I've had it for about 35 years, so thought long & hard before I did something like this. It was time.........

Susan missed her connection - they were closing the gates as she arrived. Apparently a mechanical problem, so had to stay in Atlanta. She'll catch the 6:10 flight instead of the 4:10, which means she'll arrive at 6:20 Calgary time.

Drats, poor thing must have been frantic..2 hr delaying too bed. Didn't she susan have trouble going home on her last visit?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

She's had trouble on most parts of all her flights (either coming, or going) - this is her 4th trip to visit us.
Her first trip back home she went for a 10am flight, and by 6pm should have been home. At 6pm they still didn't have any idea when the flight was leaving, so we picked her up and she slept at our place and left at 5am the next day. That was the worst.

Susan only likes 2 vegetables, corn, and cabbage. I was growing a cabbage (one) in our garden, and apparently last night the deer got to it...... It was a nice large one - about the size of my head. Oh well, can still retrieve some of it.

I'm so grateful I do not have to worry about deer or bunnies in my flower gardens!

Greg just called, Charlie just passed...

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I am sorry for their loss, and grateful for the swift passing.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Prayers for the family. I know they wanted it to be swift & easy, but it's still difficult when someone you love passes away.....

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

So sorry for the loss. Even when it's expected and wanted so he wouldn't suffer, it's still not easy when it happens.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning,
Wrestles night, thinking about my family and their loss, grandsons taking it very hard..less than a month he needed testing, then was told he had cancer, then a week in hospital, very quick. Thanks for kind thoughts and prayers!

Still a heavy day out there, I so need to cut grass so will wait until neighbourhood is awake then I'll do grass and hope it does me until I return from holidays.

Will keep busy so will head downstairs and quilt a bit.

Norm and I send our deepest sympathies for your family's loss Betty. It truly was a blessing that he went so fast but the pain of loss is still the same no matter what.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

A loss is never easy. Always comes too soon. Hugs.

Victoria Harbour, ON

That it does...

Greg came home late last night because of the dogs, he felt it was too late for me to run over..Mel and boys are in Meaford with Jan..they are going to make funeral arrangements at 7 and Melanie thinks funeral will be thursday..didn't want to ask about their trip to Newfoundland with adoptive parents..flights were Saturday, not the time to ask

Lyndonville, NY

So Sorry to hear of Charlie's passing, but as said.....good it was fast and he is no longer in pain.

Yes, projects this week....I am just not sure about. Now he wants to remove and replace dining room walls. I just see chaos and a huge mess.

He and DS moved loveseat out to the porch.....and now have a 12ft scratch across my new hardwoods. I am just so upset about it.

Waving to all......

Hugs
Debbie

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Condolences to Mel and the family .. horrible, insidious disease that .. he looks to be a great fella, had he and Mel known each other long .. Lorna never met her biological Mom nor Dad as they both passed at a young (er) age.

Awwww Debbie .. hang in there . at least your DH DOES stuff, mine is not that way inclined at all, find it very frustrating.

Grass, laundry, trimming and BBQ .. sums up the day ..

a 12 ft replacement of boards sounds like a lot - not sure it would be easy or economical. Do you have a scratch repair "stick" to fix it?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Not in a place you can add a decorative rug?

Susan, what'd you and Susan do today?

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

It's a laid back day - got home late last night, so today we're going to get the motorhome ready for our trip on Tues, and I have a pan of cornbread to make for tomorrow's BBQ with the Silver Willow's seniors. Otherwise, it's a quiet day. I'm sewing a top border on the new outer shower curtain, and she's playing on the computer while we chat & watch tv

Victoria Harbour, ON

My kind of day relaxing..
Rain still has held off but wind is up
Drats been sleeping since I came in from cutting grass and still feel like I could close my eyes and sleep.

Making cucumber sandwiches for supper and a chocolate bar lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about Charlie passing. Sending our condolences and prayers also.
