Morning all..
Can you believe it, I just got up, if it weren't for Ziggy wanting me up think I'd still be sleeping!
Karen bet you feel Lacey by your side even though she is gone, I still after several years get out of bed watching where I put my feet as Sailor always layer next to me on the floor, neverwanted to jump on the bed, left that to the kitties. Sorry she had to leave you so soon.
Dianne, have the same weather, gorgeous sunny day biput wind is making it feel much colder than it is but it's now a snow day right. You ordered furniture from on-line, can't remember the name of the company, can you help?
Susan, you will be glad to be home for a rest..bet mentally you feel so much better having seen you mom and family and now you get to enjoy all the work Bob did.
How is Sean Barb? Yes, it's hard to see him like that..Randy warnedmethathemight try to grab my rear or have about of shouting not so nice words, he'd been using them before coming out but he just sat listening to our chatter..poor Lois can hardly bring a cup to her mouth without dropping half of it is sad as well..she turned 90 last week so blessed they are still here.
I so want to start painting the rec room even though I'm not feeling energetic enough to do it so decided if I broke it up in sections of 5 and did one each day it wouldn't be such an overwhelming task so I'll have my coffee, piece of cocoanut cream pie and do a wall
Best,Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends old/new, come join in..
Please don't over do it Betty. Listen to your body, and rest when needed.
What color are you painting the room?
I had a friend tell me years ago, that God took the lives of those years ago at an early age, so they would not have to suffer going through old age. Now we have meds and treatments to keep us alive up into our 100's. Sometimes it makes one wonder why?
For sure Linda, I sometimes wonder why I'm still here after all that heart mess. I have written my wishes and Walt has promised to keep them as I never want to go through all that again. Right now I'm glad I'm here but.....
We will be on baby duty as GD has new job working days as a PA. not certified as yet, on job training. Lolli is a good baby and easy care. I won't much get my hands on her this week as Sammi is here and is getting her fill of baby time.
Betty sounds like you are finally getting forward motion on your craft room. Please be careful and don't overdo.
Glad to hear she found a job Karen.
Senior masses are larger than adult/youth, not a wonder health care is getting so bad..think our gut is trying to offer $$$ incentives to make living at home more manageable..think we are up for a rough ride..when I saw Lois and don last night at 90 couldn't phantom me at 70 come march how I'll ever make another 20 years, not a pretty thought, although this has been a bad year, perhaps things will improve.
Karen p, is looking after Lorelei only while her mom is in training and then she will find a sitter.
It's noon and paint put away as promised lindakay, never know, might get at a wall painted later tonight, cheated a bit, did 2 walls, now it's bath timed do my hair..
Color is a rich deep gray, with flooring and wall color it should feel warm and cozy. Now when we took all those paint bins off the wall and set them in furnace room to give me more room for quilter we patched up the wall and is doesn't look the best, while painting one of the walls I went over the draped leaves design I did with dap, raised design so as soon as I can get into my stencils hidden way in the storage pod I'll do same for that wall.
Wind is up here, too cool to play outside for a bit so likely I will sew a bit and go to town, got the cheques for all the work and replacement of contents so habpve to deposit them, would pick up supper but lots of roast beef and fixings left over from last night.
Betty it was Wayfair.ca.
Thanks Dianne..you were pleased with their service?
Their service was excellent. Whatever you order will arrive by UPS or Purolater. I chose to pay extra to have the dining room table assembled. It was delivered by a moving company out of Ktown and the 2 guys put everything together. The guys took all of the paper and cardboard with them. You wouldn't know they had been here.
I ended up buying a new desk as it was on for 70% off when I was looking. to see what was out there.. Wayfair have these really good sales... but only for a little while. I was going to get a new desk but had planned on buying it later this summer. Just couldn't resist the sale.
Thank you for the welcome home.
Looked at our veggie garden - it's springing up, for sure - corn, beets, onions, garlic, and so much more, are growing! My honeysuckle has buds, and so does my mock orange shrub!!
Now, to figure where I'm going to plant my False Indigo shrub - it's a rare one, btw. Not easily found.
Morning all, sunshine day in my neighbourhood, high of 54' tomorrow about 10 degrees higher, nice day dpfir a drive, my day off lol
Am sure Rita will make sure I do nothing.
In the meantime I have to finish my coffee and go tackle another wall, feeling great that it will be done..once the other 2 rooms are finished i.e. Storage amd washroom I will paint them and that means the entire basement will be done..
Thinking while Im in painting mode I should do the bedroom I'm using as a sewing room right now..should keep an eye on flyers for good paint on sale.
Susan, you will be eating fresh veggies come July? What is the name of your false indigo?
Susan it is so good to 'hear' the joy in your posts.
Been been up all night with the itchies. I thought it was skeeter bites but now not so sure. I have over 16 bites on my right arm alone.. I started to wonder if I had hives then was it measles or not. I have had 2 showers, changed clothes, washed all the bedding used Benadryl and After Bite. Still itching. I am going to make a paste of epsom salts and try it on a few bites and see if that helps. I am miserable - I itch so much I can't even read.
Betty I was going to start painting the upstairs but now the build is set to start Mon. I am glad I didn't start..
Sky looks threatening but I hope to get the grass down to the lake. I need a goat. I made a quick buzz the other day but it was so high it was just a mishmash.
Barb how are you and yours doing? It's Sean that hurt himself right? As a person who has had knee surgery several times on my right knee I think it is either 8 or 9 times I hope he gets a top notch Ortho doctor.. I hurt for him.
Dianne and her TH
Sun is shinning but wind is up, should be out cutting grass as well but not going to overdoor I'll get the what for right?
Dianne, drats you must be so uncomfortable, maybe you gotnto a bad weed, can't for the life of me remember the name of it, is it wild carrot? Maybe a quick trip to doc or emerge is needed.
Are you doing renos Dianne, you say they start Monday, what are you up to?
Proud of myself, promised I'd do painting in 3-4 days and been keeping to it..likely I'll finish next free day..area I have to do now is where you come in through basement so lot of cutting but won't take long..Service Master still has to come and sand where they put a 2' piece of drywall in and mud it again, likely once after that so might wait until it's done before I finish that section..
Rita comes this afternoon so I best get tad cleaning done and get washed up and out of my painting clothes.
Sorry to hear you are itching so bad Dianne. I pray something works quickly for you.
Asking for prayers for my Uncle Bob, my Dads brother. He has had pneumonia several times this year, and just couldn't seem to get rid of it. A few days ago, his wife took him to the ER, because she thought it was pneumonia again, and after an exam, she was told it is not pneumonia, it is his heart as well as his liver and kidneys shutting down. Yesterday the Dr, told her she needs to get the kids and family near, as there is not much they can do for him.
Thanks for all your support.
Dianne - sorry to hear you're itching so badly - never heard of epson salts paste?!?! Hope it helps
LK - you have our prayers & good thoughts from our house to yours.
Betty - the False Indigo's latin name is Amorpha Fruiticosa, and it's rare, but native to the prairies. This isn't mine, obviously, but it's what it looks like about 5 yrs old.
Member of the legume family.
Prayers being sent for your Uncle Bob, LK.
Interesting plant, Susan! I haven't seen that before.
Asking for prayers for my Aunt Nancy. She has alzheimers, which has progressed rapidly in the last few months. She was put in to hospice earlier this week. They're keeping her sedated. My cousin said she moans and grasps at the air, and has been mumbling, but they can't understand her. She won't open her eyes, or respond to anyone. Doctors said no more can be done. Praying her passing is quick and painless.
Deb
Sorry to hear that Deb. Sending prayers for you and the family.
Sorry to hear about your aunt Debbie, don't you think they have the capability of saying 'no more'!
Sending prayers for you aunt and your Uncle lindakay, does he live nearby you?
Darlene's father in law is also in hospital, prognosis not good.
Susan, the ones I've seem are more purple tone, so yes this one is rare, here is hoping it will flourish..thought I had some false indigo but looks nothing like yours.
Playing lazy, feet up, watching a movie, trying to decide if I can put off going into town this afternoon and do all in my travels tomorrow while out with Rita
Body never seems to find a happy medium, either it's work till you drop or at a standstill
Sending out comforting prayers for Uncle Bob and Aunt Nancy and their loved ones.
What devastating news for your aunt and uncle LK. Much the same as what my SIL had to face....... she was doing well with her radiation but they wanted to get an up-to-date MRI. She went in for her next radiation treatment and there was a note for her to see her Oncologist before she left. She even drove herself to the cancer clinic. He sat her down and said the cancer had spread to her brain and she had less than a month to live. She was dead within a week.
Oh Deb I am glad they are keeping your Aunt Nancy sedated. When they get to that stage it is so hard on her loved ones. I too will pray for a quick and painless passing.
Betty it is Wild Parsnip that is so bad. It looks like Queen Ann's Lace. and it has a vicious rash that comes with touching it. You might be right Betty as I had to go in the brush to get Chaos untangled and I had cut down Wild Parsnip there a week ago.. Of course I was well gloved up and had elastics around the bottom of my sweat pants.then.
Deb how is Bonnie?
I've been babbling about this build for so long and I am so excited. There is a small deck on the lake side of the house. It is coming down and will be stretched to cover the whole west side of the house. Then a 12 X 12 screened in deck on the south side of the house will be added to it with steps down . There are no steps linking the deck to the ground. right now. Mike built this house and I was so glad he could make the time to do this build. I need to dig up some plants along the south side of the house.before Monday..
Well the dreaded itch is still marching on. I tried cold water and ice on my hands and that helped for a bit. I had another shower and put some cream on my hands ,arms and back. What a relief but as soon as I start to move around the intense itch comes back full force. This cream is something our Debbie suggested when I was having radiation and then I used it on Warren. It has a soothing calming effect. It was quite the sight seeing me try to apply the cream to my shoulders and back. I had a cheap flipper from the $ store that I hadn't used so I put some cream on it and went to town. If that didn't pan out I have a back scratcher and would tie a cloth around the end and apply the cream that way.
Duke is cranky today and I have no idea why. Wish he could just tell me so I could try to make him a happier dude.
Sassy is yammering away ... she wants food and right now. Gotta go.
Dianne and her TH
Bonnie's doing OK, it took several days but her fever finally broke, and she's been doing good. Will make sure she has the Canine Infuenza vaccine before she goes to any more shows, though.
Waving helloo~~~~~~lots of positive energy for those that need it .. had my shot @ 1:45pmand the nausea/fuzzies are creeping up, happens infrequently. this time seems to be one ..
bedtime

Betty - there are several varieties of False Indigo - this is a shrub, but there's also a perennial called Baptista, with flowers. Because mine is so rare, many of the garden centers try to tell me about the Baptista flowering plant. I've had the shrub flourish in Calgary, but when the fellas moved it, they let it dry out, so that's why I've gotten another one.
Deb - I'm glad to hear that Bonnie's doing better. Praying that your Aunt Nancy gets some peace soon. Alzheimer's tough on everyone
Dianne - wow, on the Wild Parsnip. I'd never heard of it, so maybe it doesn't grow in my area. Hope your cranky Duke gets happier again. Naughty Chaos for getting all tangled up in the woods - did Wild Parsnip affect him, too? Can understand about being excited about a build lol I am too!!! Best go outside and help Bob clear the area around our new deck :-) We'll still need to have fencing put around, but there's stairs & rails, and both the front & back decks are SOLID. Looking forward to having our lower back deck cleared so we can put up the privacy screen. I'm VERY excited!! Once the outside is done, we can go back to working on clearing/trimming the den and move in there!!
Fun day with the visiting greats. Told them they could decide what we did today as we haven't had a chance to go anywhere and their parents will be here Sunday. They chose three museums. Music Museum, I enjoyed and thought they might be bored but they said it was fun. Dennos museum..unfortunately closed for remodeling . Children's museum, I worried they might think it too young but again they enjoyed themselves. Had lunch & ice cream at Culver's. We'll do more next week when their parents can join us. Sure hope it gets a bit warmer.
Diane, I use a kitchen spatula to put crams where I cannot reach, works well..no wonder you are excited about the deck project, love my screened in area, like having another room to live in..I say that but rarely sit out there..it's a place you can sit and say an na na nah to the bugs wanted in lol
Maybe you touched the clothing you were wearing the other day..know I used to get poison ivy all the time, it was from sailor running through it then I'd be petting her..maybe same with the thundering herd.
"m" sorry to hear the needle creates such havoc with your health, damned if you do and damned if you don't take it, lesser of two evils or is it? How is Lorna? How is her mom doing?
Deb is the canine influenza shot a yearly thing or would Bonnie have to get it before going to each show? Did you ever decide which pup you will keep?
Went out for Chinese with Rita, she is off to see a friend for an hour or so and I'm going to relax..think we will leave around 8-9 in the morning for Meaford.
What did I learn today........ well, I learned that I can freak out & be calm at the same time - living in a mobile home, when a tornado warning comes in, for our community. They said Torrington, Trochu & Three Hills. It seems to be closer to Trochu, and we do know people in Three Hills as well - hope all are safe. Warning ends for us at 6am tomorrow.
I'm feeling better - sun's back out and the rain stopped. Had lots of big and heavy rain, but not much wind.
Wow Susan, you don't get many of those warnings do you?
Glad the storm has passed you by..
Think I'm going to head to bed just incase Rita stays out a tad later
Night night
Apparently they had such a warning last year, but it was south of us, and this one went north of us. Hope our friends to the NE of us are fine.........
Morning all, sunshine day..suppose to hit a high of 68, again wind is strong so will feel much colder going around the edge of Georgian bay..
Off the Meaford, ohhh a fabric shop is there, can visit! Lol
Good morning everyone.
Enjoy your day Betty.
Susan, is this near you?

That's scary!!! And the person I saw seemed totally unaware!!!
Yes - it's where we go to church, 20 min drive away. The tornado warning came for our community, but it bypassed us to the north & went to Three Hills. There was no injury to anyone, and "only" property damage to outbuilding's roofs, etc. A tractor was totalled, and that would be expensive, I'm sure.
https://www.facebook.com/kb3hills/videos/1351855818255322/
So glad it missed you, and no injuries.
Evening all, quite a day..
Bought plants to make a succulent container, Rita did same, bought clothes, lovely cover up, of course fabric ship, some fabric had to come home with me..think I managed to match maroon I need for wedding quilts, am sure I bought something decorative but can't remember what and bought a crystal Xmas garland, went out for supper, had a lovely day with Rita
Think she can see pressure in my head acting up, pain along back of neck column..still think that pain in hip is sciatica and its acting up but not complaining not get out with the girls..
Guess it's hot bath and to bed, Rita won't mind because she says she brought work with her.
Thank you, LK - it was startling, to say the least, to find out that we have Tornado Alley nearby. In 2000 a place (Pine Lake) 30 min drive from here had an F3 (killer) tornado go through the area & killed 12 people in a resort campground.
I'm glad this one wasn't so severe, and no one was even injured. It went through a farmer's field and picked up a lot of dust.
You were lucky Susan..scary for sure..we've had several the past few years hit barrie, midland, Severn .. mega damage
Do you have a Tornado Alley, Betty? I gather there are a lot of them.
I feel so badly for those hit by tornadoes.
Yes, midland/barrie corridor
When I lived on the lake in port Severn we were hit 3 times, I remember watching from the balcony as it came past front of our yard lifting the lake in places, not a think wrong on the dock deck but took all our trees along shoreline.another time it did mega damage to the marina down the road.
Then in Barrie a few years earlier 12 lives were lost, over 300 injured and 300 homes lost.
Then a few years ago when Chrissy was here it hot Midland..actually did damage to mil/fil's house..Chrissy when passing to Martyr's Shrine explained a lot with regards to terrain and why it took that route, was interesting to hear, believe over 30 homes destroyed but no deaths
So yes, when alerts are issued we take it seriously
All seem to take place in June..
Wow!!! We might get one once every three or four years that may do some damage. Mostly what we get is called "straight Line winds" which do a lot of damage too but are not as extensive as tornadoes can be. Glad to know you are safe Susan.
It seems our area is pretty safe from tornados. Maybe Lake Michigan protects us somehow.
Susan your tornado made the abc nightly news.. The anchor was saying that Canada gets about 8 confirmed tornadoes a year while the US gets into the thousands. Still no matter how many you get it has to be terrifying.
Don't know where my head has been but I need to get this house ready for construction. I have several original paintings and prints hanging inside on the outside walls they will be working on. Typical me but I am going to blame these nasty bites and my preoccupation with them on my lapse of memory.
Dianne
Evening everyone..rain and high winds all day ...
Rita and I have done nothing today, well almost nothing, did find a couple of hypertufa containersi had made last year, yesterday we boughtsome succulents so this morning we made an arrangement, other than that just got comfy on the couch.
Rita is waiting for her granddaughter to call so she can be picked up north on honey harbour, Rita was hoping it would be earlier than it is..meanwhile I have spaghetti sauce on for late dinner.
Don't overdo Dianne..yes you wouldn't want your paintings and treasures to be destroyed.
