Canada gets the 2nd most tornadoes in the world, and US gets most. Eight doesn't seem like it's many...... was that maybe in one area? I saw 80 per year, for Canada.
This is what I found
"How many tornadoes in Canada?
On average, there are around 80 confirmed and unconfirmed tornadoes that touch down in Canada each year, with most occurring in Southern Ontario, the southern Canadian Prairies and southern Quebec. Canada ranks as the second country in the world with the most tornadoes per year, after the US."

On to nicer notes - here are some pics of our new decks :-)
Front deck, which Bob says he wants to extend to the front of our home. Stairs stay where they are. Today he's putting the fence rails on.
Back deck, upper & lower with stairs, no railing as yet. He's going to put privacy panels on the far side of the lower deck as it's the edge of our property & no one needs to be coming onto the deck at that point. The cedar posts will be used for the front deck for an overhang.

LOL Susan.... one knows you should never trust what is said on the news. I sat right up when I heard 8 but he repeated it again.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

yeah, don't trust the Weather Liars, and "The Enquirer" type of news reporting LOL
My Sister & B-in-Law were chiding me for not reading the news when I get up in the morning. It's been said that the happiest, well-adjusted people are those who don't get the horrors of the world thrust upon them when they first wake up............ 'sides, I don't like to use more paper than I have to........!!!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Love that response Susan!!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Beautiful work on the deck Susan!

Happy birthday Deb. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Thanks, LK!! That cake looks yummy!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

♪♫Happy Birthday, Deb! ♫♪
Keep smiling lol
Thanks, LK - we now have the railing around the outside of the deck and the fence boards cut, ready to attach, then it's just the painting of the deck.
Barb - thanks - I really do believe I am a happier person for not having the ills of the world slap me upside the face when I'm still wiping the sleep from my eyes. I'm not blind to the ills of the world, nor am I uncaring. However, there's so much that I can't do anything about, and that would make me feel worse. There are a lot of people who would disagree with me, but that's not my worry - I have enough to worry about. If it affects me, my family or my friends, believe me - I CARE. I just don't know 7.3 Billion people (as of 2015).

Evening,

Where did the day go?

Rita and I sat and gabbed for a few hours this morning then it started. Lol

Rita went to her 11:00am meeting and got back at 2:00, her granddaughter must have been exhausted from the weekend so she slept in till 1:30.
While she slept I painted walls going downstairs..

Chatted a tad with a Bernice across the road, I did some b&b for her a few years ago, well she needs 2 rooms for her bil and 2 sil's coming from Vancouver next week..can do as long as basement is completed and not while I am in New Orleans.
We will see.

Then spoke to Bonnie across the street, it was her 24 year old niece who died a few weeks ago, heart attack!

June's visit was short, omg she can barely get around, thankful for the chair lift.

Darlene and John came over, John put in a light fixture in the new to be storage area..put fluorescent bulbs in side area of rec room..let there be light. He will also make me shelving for stained glass area.

They had bought fabric for a baby quilt, they asked if I'd do it for them the other day seeing as I only have a little area to work in, well I told them they had to cut at least the giraffe out..before you knew it John was right into it lol

They just left, I,will go put out downstairs lights, have a bath and call it a day, tired!

Now that is what I did with my day.

Happy birthday Deb, hope you had a special,day..lots of licks, from puppies lol..how are you enjoying the new vehicle.

I'm,with you Susan, not fond of finding out what happened in the world over night until I've had coffee..more than depressing these days, those poor folks in Orlando and,of course in England over the weekend..prayers for their families.

You will be able to sit and take in the sun on that new deck

Dianne did your workers,start yet?

Lindakay, you back up and running?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Got all my bags of yarn sorted out today and designated homes for that all I'm not keeping. Good job done.
My friend from Manchester, Denise, is coming up tomorrow. I have asked for her help cutting some material as I have a hard time standing for any length of time now. I just can't cut big pieces on a small mat. Her help will be so appreciated.
Happy Birthday Deb. Hope it has been a good one.

Victoria Harbour, ON

You are on a mission Barb..
Takes a lot of strength cutting fabric, am sure Denise enjoys helping and spending time with you.

Was a double post..calling it a day
Night night

Still busy with the kids here. they leave in the morning.
Computer is doing good, just have to figure out why the screen saver won't work. Getting used to windows 10 was a chore, but pretty easy, once I figured it out.
Sorry to hear about the young lady passing away, such a shock to the family for sure.

Verona, ON

Happy Birthday Deb. LK's cake sure does look good.

In spite of the weather forecast of rain and TS (not a drop of rain) Mike and his helper got all the holes dug for the supports and cemented in. Mike is off to buy lumber in the morning. These 2 guys are a joy to have around - they are a little out there and I love it. Mike is afraid of dogs but Chaos did manage to get a few pets from him. Mike has offered once this project is done to do a lot of smaller things that need some attention and I can't do.

Oh Barb how great it is your friend is coming tomorrow. Sure wish I lived closer.

What is it with men and machines? John was really taken with that machine.

LK is your pool up and running? Do the dogs go in it ? I can so sympathize with you not having your computer up and running.

Hadn't been walking up on the property north of the house. We had a terrible wind storm last week and I felt 3 good thugs. Turns out there are 3 large trees down but lucky me not across the lane. I can trim up a lot of it with my saw but will have to get Warren's big saws back to block the main trunk.

Early run for the TH tonight .... I am tired.

Dianne and her TH

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Pool will be going up this weekend.
Be careful cutting those trees.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning..more rain for today..ground won't be able to absorb it much longer!

Oh Dianne, surely those young men would help with the trees, small chainsaw not so bad but going out with Warren's big chainsaw is very dangerous.

Now that the support beams are done you will see the deck go up n no time..I'm excited for you..great place for TH to lay and take in nice weather without skitters and blackflies.

Lindakay, how big is your pool? With temps you are getting you need it up so you can cool down..

Had a bad night with my head last night, was almost tempted to go to emerge then fell asleep..know I won't be able to do much today so I will put my garbage out, go to foodland and pick up a few tings then have a rest day...was too active past few weeks and now paying for it.

Best I get started..

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Going out to dinner with my kids on Thursday night (it's the only evening my daughter isn't working this week). Just relaxed and enjoyed the pups.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Nice to have a great birthday day and enjoy a second with family Deb..does your family live nearby?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

We have a small pool, 12 foot by 30 inches deep. The kind you can get from Walmart. Just enough to dunk in and cool off when needed.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Does the trick lindakay, enough to cool you down

Not a happy camper, the guy that was suppose to work here today just came and said the lady where he was working decided she wanted new floor in kitchen and brick fireplace painted and few other things, will take them a few days and he has a fishing trip scheduled for Friday so promises to come Monday....grrrr

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Frustrating, for sure, Betty, when you were planning on getting things done!

My daughter and son in law live about a mile away. My son and his family are about 40 minutes away, so relatively close, too. Told them I'd really prefer they come over for an hour or so, and help with some yard work, but, they're insisting on going out for dinner!

Victoria Harbour, ON

I like the 'helping with work', not bad if they want to do both

Had company, knew you would want me to share..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry your jibs are getting pushed back.

Look at those twins, they are growing so quickly!

Verona, ON

Wow Betty what a wonderful pic... I just loved seeing them all smile.

Pouring rain here so no work can be done. Mike the General does not have another build scheduled for the summer so he is going to do some other things for me too. I'll get Steve to bring the big saws down and help me with the trees. I need to get a dumpster brought in..... then I will empty out the sheds. I haven't been in them other than to get a hose and rake in 5 years.

Well Betty that is just the pits about the worker. At least he came and told you rather than just not show up.

Well I am covered in dark red dots but the itch factor is much less. It is not a pretty sight and a couple of people at the grocery store asked me what was up. It actually looks quite a bit like measles.

LK sounds like a perfect sized pool. Nice refreshing dunk sounds wonderful. Bet you take lots of them on a hot day.

Deb I too like the idea of a work day. Although dinner out sounds good too.
BBL
Dianne

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Dianne, I pray it was not the measles. It is trying to make a comeback in the US.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Betty - great pic of Ann and Alex & Addy. Boy, seems like hardly any time since we were expecting their birth! They look happy, but very tired - time for nap?
Thank you for sharing. It's been awhile since I've seen them.
Now that I'm back home, it's back to working on the library. Want to get it done before June 15th. Still have a lot of books to enter, and put properly on the shelves, so they have to be sorted too.

Verona, ON

Good morning everyone. Sunny here ... woo hoo!! Builders will be here which makes me happy.

The itch has been tamed. If I get too warm it starts up but nowhere near the intensity of the weekend.

Make sure you all do something nice for yourself today ladies.
Dianne

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

My fellow quilter Denise came up yesterday. We went through all my rulers and she took what she wanted. I'm afraid there aren't many left. A couple of diamonds and a triangle I think. I'll double check and if anyone wants them, first come gets them. I'm
really trying to clear out any that I know I won't be using.

Verona, ON

Oh Barb it must be hard to make decisions. It must make you feel good to know pieces are going to a good home. I can still hear Norm saying that you could give me 1 of your sewing machines because you had 2. lol That was a lovely weekend we had together with Thea and Bernie.

Fingers crossed the TH is finally settling down. They have been barking their heads off especially Duke at Mike and Doug. There is no place where I can take them where they would not see or hear the guys. It really emphasizes to me how secluded I do live. Not for everyone but I love it.

Hope everyone is having as beautiful weather day as I am.
Dianne and her TH

Lyndonville, NY

Finally stopped raining here. Sun is out and supposed to be warming up.
I had my electric blanket on last night I was so cold!!! Not right for June.

I have a vertigo issue and trying to behave and not move much.

Miss you all, hugs

Debbie

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

The sun is finally shining here today too and the temps are rising. It was a high of 51 yesterday and today it is near 72 and rising. I just want to sit in the sun!!! Haven't done much all day but that!!! It was so nice to just chill and think of all I want to do.

Verona, ON

The TH did NOT stop barking. Well Chaos is just chilling but Diesel and Duke have barked more today than in the last year. I have a splitting headache, am overtired and just plain cranky. I think I will try a whistle tomorrow and if that doesn't work I will resort to the dreaded shock collar. I have some here and used 1 briefly for Quill but usually can eliminate a behaviour with other means. We are just so secluded down here it is just overwhelming for the TH.

Oh Barb I bet you feel wonderful from all of those sun rays.

The guys left about 30 min ago. The TH are fed and now are quietly sprawled out on the bedroom floor. I hope they sleep well tonight.

Hungry forgot to eat today with all of the commotion. I think I started out at 1 point to get something to eat but got distracted.

Where's Betty?

Dianne and her TH.

Went to the emerg (they have a Dr closer to me than my Dr in Calgary - only reason I didn't go to my own Dr) to have my infected toe looked at (Foot Care said it had better be looked at right away), and it's not as bad as she thought. I have cream to put on it twice a day for two weeks, and that should fix it. I'll just have to make good & certain that I don't stub it anymore. Hard to do in a clutter zone that is our home....... oh well
Nice weather, and had a great day in Three Hills, shopping, etc.

Hope everyone's doing well for themselves.
Where's Betty? Hope she's resting

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good morning. Adding my concern about Betty. Sure hope she is okay.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, where are you? Praying you are not back in the hospital?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

So scary when we don't see her.
