Betty, she is putting the wallpaper on fresh drywall.....she has to prime or if she ever changes it...it won't come off easily, and the water will soak straight into the drywall.
Primer really is a must. If it was an established already painted area....then yes, just wash.

Forgot about that Debbie, kept thinking regular painted wall,
Morning everyone.
sunny and supposed to be warmer today. I sure hope so as i want to try doing some outside work. I fear this warmer weather will encourage the black flies to come out earlier then usual and stay longer.
Been battling bouts of vertigo the last 2 weeks. it is not making me a happy person. I haven't had such bad and lengthy ones for a long time.
yep susan you have to get that new dry wall painted. I know it is another chore but well worth the effort.
LK i hope you and todd are having a good time at the car show. i remember you mentioning it last year.
Good news Barb. Holding you and norm close to me heart.
how goes the weekend Karen ? Lots of vimy ridge coverage in the papers and on tv. I saw yesterday an article in the TO star about a man cleaning out his basement and found a pile of letters sent to his mil. most were from vimy Ridge and other places the soldier was stationed during ww 1. Not a soul knew about these letters nor who the soldier was. the guy a vet from the korean War was purging his basement getting ready to sell his home.
enjoy the day ladies
dianne and her th
Good morning!!! Today is going to be a red letter day. Normand I are getting out of the house!!!!! For something other than a doctor appointment!!! Haven't done that since late February.... I suppose if you must stay inside, March is the month to do it...
We are going shopping for yarn (again) and then to lunch with our Manchester friend and Stacy's family.. It will be a treat for us for sure....
Sure wish there were something to do for your dizzies Dianne. I can't imagine what that is like. And Glad to hear things are going well Susan. No time to respond to everyone but please know I read all and send love and prayers....
Morning all, just got out of bed and having a coffee..
Think we in the northern areas are getting same weather, makes one want to go for a ride right? Glad you and Norm are venturing out, that alone will make you feel better, good old fresh air does wonders. Just don't overdo!!
Dianne, how frustrating for you, nothing worse than vertigo.
A friend's son is at Vimy with other school students, great experience for them and a tribute to the men lost. Ohhh those letters must be put in a museum". Wouldn't it be something to get to read the happenings of everyday life during those times and how he felt.
Need to head to town, need some lady supplies seeing I'm puddling every time I cough..isn't life grand...just what you needed to hear right? Lol
Hooe you are all having a sunshine day
How wonderful Karen..lovely family..do you have photo of the quilt?
Went into town, uncle Allan wasn't doing as well as yesterday..big sigh
His son Paul is driving in from the north to see him this afternoon so likely he will be tired out tonight.
Stopped and got a bag full of meds, mostly cough syrups and flem syrup..Lordy not cheap to be sick..could have waited to get script from doc so it would be free but who knows when I will get appointment.
Ended up going for new runners, got a nice white pair, side zipper and back support in silver, look more dressy
Went out for an hour in the yard, picked up more limbs and raked one garden and that is it for today..
Very nice Karen..nice drive for you?
Dianne, you spending time outdoors with TH?
Boy some meds taste horrible. Yuck
It was a lovely drive along the bay. We found a neat store too. Stopped on the way up (I had to go) was so neat we stopped on the way home too. General store, hardware, feed store, smoke house, grocery, you name it they probably had it. The "meat master" and hubby had quite a chat about smoking meat, an he gave us a sample of fresh from the smoker pork tenderloin. We had to buy one it was so good, and still warm when we got home.
How wonderful Karen. All in all a great day for you and hubby.
Betty, you MUST take it a bit easier.... Do know what you mean about piddlin"....LOL
Norm and I had a great day too. We met my friend at Joanns and I got more yarn for a sweater for the little one next door. Can't believe I put making it off so long the one I made was too small!!!! This one won't be! Then we met up with Stacy and SIL and Sean and we all had lunch together. It was just so nice to be outside this house. I truly love living here but other than Dr appointments, this was the first time out since mid Feb. and I was ready... Fresh air alone was worth the day....
got to love those kind of stores Karen, so muck to see, great gadgets as well..
Starting to feel temps drop, think they are calling for a nice day tomorrow..should be out taking the piles of dried leaves to fire pit but know I will not
Trying to decide if I want to have supper or not..hmmmm
Barb, my mom knitted a lot for her grands and mine. She made DGS Rory a beautiful blue sweater.when he was about 3 I told him it was Rory's eyes blue as it matched his perfectly. He wore it constantly and when he out grew it, his mom tried to give it to his cousin. He wasn't having any part of it until my mom made him another one. It was returned after Will out grew it in turn but Rory still has possession.
They have a habit of becoming treasures Karen. Under my bed, I have a container with six new baby sweaters - one for the first born of each of my own six grandchildren. I know I will not likely see any of them but Gram is ready!!!!!
I still have a very few made by my grandmother. Every baby came home in the tiny sets she made. After she passed we searched and searched for her pattern. I'm sure she had it committed to memory. I sat down with one of her sets and counted and wrote until I had it figured out. I made many copies and spread them around the family so it wouldn't be lost again.
Of course babies are dressed differently now and it's just us "old" ones who remember.
Following your lead ladies but with wedding quilts, once made then perhaps I'll do baby outfits.
Although it is calling for 73 today with rain, rain hasn't stared yet, looked at long term weather report, suppose to rain all of Easter weekend Grrr
Not sure what family will be doing Easter as I've been I'll and not thinking of gathering..Darlene's 60th is Saturday at 3:00..if kids decide they want to get together we will order in Chinese or meet in Barrie at marketplace buffet.
Called dr's office as cold and fought worse, doctor's office said 1st appt may 2nd 2pm. Gave me options ER (not going to happen) or walk in or after hours clinic. Couldn't call till 11am for after hours, put # on redial, started before 11 and got in at 11:01 yippee, appointment at 4:30pm
sunny, warm but windy.
i had raked and used my leaf blower for a couple of hours this morning. and lo and behold i found some Iris and hosta poking their way through. I sure needed to see that.
Cancelled my appointment for my physical tomorrow because the dining room set I ordered would be coming. They just called me and are bringing it out now. did a quick pick up around the house and moved the folding table I had been using. One thing that Wayfair demands you to do is keep your steps and lanes shoveled (don't
have to worry about that) and ample space for the delivery to come into the house.
What wonderful memories Karen you are helping families make.
How was the car show LK?
Oh Barb like you I would be so happy to get out and about. when i had skin cancer on my cheek and I was using that chemo ointment i didn't want to go out at all. after 3 weeks W finally said to me just come to IGA you don't have to go in. He was right.
dianne and her TH
Just finished this top today, I feel like I've been working on it forever. Applique is just not my thing but my cousin asked and I love her so.......It's for her first grandbaby, hope it's a boy, this just doesn't seem good for a girl. Folk do baby things so different these days. Any how cousin is thrilled. I need to talk to long armer to figure the best way to quilt this.
That is so cute, Karen! I just love it, I bet your cousin's grandbaby will, too! Such memories you all are creating with your skills!
Omg Karen, just to cute..
Dianne thinking of you and Debbie, wind picked up like a siren, power just came back on, for how long I don't know
Light and sound show going on, so dark, actually quite scary ..winds could be up to 80, guess I will be picking up more branches
If it continues the clinic can wait
Dianne, the car show was awesome, it was huge so there was lots of walking to do. We are both paying for it, but would do it again.
Glad to hear you got a Dr.'s appointment today Betty.
Karen, that quilt is awesome.
Drats, went to clinic, got meds and home to bed, doc says I have pneumonia..have to go for chest ex rays next 2 days grrrr
Also said with accident I had will take up to a year sometimes for it to be back to what it was, but told me many times it doesn't return the same
Isn't that nice
Oh Betty, so sorry but glad you went so you are now on meds. Thinking once we really get to spring, we'll all feel better.
My BIL had a bad fall when one of those plastic chairs broke under him. When he fell his head hit the brick wall.. My sister couldn't help get him up so had to call 911. He was taken and checked at hospital, had a concussion.
I knew something was really wrong. Betty. Thank you so much for getting checked out. You may not like it but now at least you can start to get better with the right meds. Concussion is nothing to be messed around with. It takes time to heal - as in as long as it takes.
Norm had a quiet day today after yesterday. Did a bit too much walking.
Had a bit of drama here today. There was some kind of incident across the street and the police were there for hours. Saw evidence bags brought out and finally the hearse showed up and a body was removed. Don't know what happened or to whom. I'm afraid it may have been an overdose. Don't know the people over there at all.
Played cribbage today Dianne!!!
Off to do the breathing machine.
Sorry to hear about the death across the street Barb. Sending prayers.
Sending payers for you to Betty. get some rest, and get well soon!
Sad...It seems drugs are showing up everywhere. I have to say I'm glad I'm not raising kids now. I worry so about the grands & greats. So far almost no problems but it can pop up anywhere.
Omg Barb, how very sad, glad you are resting ..
Omg, this is so silly, got up, deep sleep, coughed up a storm, thank goodness I had bout pads..this morning I knew it was going to bed day, brought a TV tray and put it on the side of the bed..was shaky when I got up, caught my foot caught in legs of trau..fell into mirror closet doors.. Was weak on my feet..few more bruises on hip and knee...hardly see them but best get back in bed. I'm Sooo lucky..moved it across the room
Oh Betty, I hate that you are there alone.
DO we need to send you the bubble wrap? Please be careful.
Noah's here with me,not alon
So glad to know you are not alone Betty. Will Noah be staying with you for a while? At least at night? It is so easy to trip with everything we have surrounding us. I know I frequently trip over this 02 tubing and it drives Norm crazy. But there is no way to wind it up all the time and it is a long way from my bedroom/office/sewing room to the bathroom!!!! I worry more about someone else falling than I do myself as I am used to watching out for it.
No word about yesterday's drama. We are a small town with no media to come running so we may never know. It just seems strange that the police took out evidence bags but there is no crime scene tape around the house. ?????
Morning
Slept a bit better last night, still in bed but hoping to get up, likely better for me.
It's a sunshine day today, might sit on back deck for a few rays.
Usually in a small town Barb, news of such is around town almost before it happens.
So are you all gathering with friends/family this weekend?
Granddaughter Amanda is coming with family Thurs. night so we will have a long week-end. Amelia is very excited that cousins will be here. Lake is thawed so I'm sure there will be some fishing going on too. DGD and hubby are avid sportsmen and kids are becoming the same.
That is nice Karen, you love having them there
Jeff said he and boys coming up Sunday for lunch and would get a few things done for me, I will order Chinese..spoke to melanie, Greg was suppose to ask if Jeff and boys and I could have a meal with them Friday? he forgot ..when I said I was notThat is nice Karen, you love having them there
Jeff said he and boys coming up Sunday for lunch and would get a few things done for me, I will order Chinese..spoke to melanie, Greg was suppose to ask if Jeff and boys could come as well Friday..when she heard I was ill I got uninvited..her mom who has a blood disease and just of chemo can't be around anyone sick, understandable so will play the Easter thing by ear
The WLs are at it again. No sun out there..... I think Betty is hogging the sun. It is way cooler than yesterday.
Peepers were out loud and proud last night. I fear they are a tad too early. I heard the loons the last couple of nights also.
Oh Karen freshly caught fish from cold water is divine. I must have missed it but how did the move go ?
Barb sometimes when there is a death and 911 is called the police, fire department and emt all come to the scene. Maybe the police saw several vial of meds and took it just in case, or maybe they were thinking assisted suicide. I know our family GP and I had a plan that if Warren died here at home I would just call her and then all the others would not be called out.
OK LK I have a question for you since you live Texas. Have you ever heard of a drink Red Tequila ? I am reading a book and it talks about this drink a lot. one takes a shot of tequila with a cream soda chaser.
Betty very glad Noah is there with you. Wagging my finger at you !!!
dianne
I think Bessie Lou needs Nurse Debbie to tie her to bed with duct tape!!! Happy Noah is there...I hope he is able to help somewhat and not just TV.
Yes Dianne is right. Weather Liars have it cloudy again today and temp dropped 15 degrees from yesterday. BUT I am seeing a bit of color sprouting and enjoying it.
Robins are out in full the last few days with some fat worms I have seen.
Barb, that had to be somewhat scary to see that across the street. I hope you and Norm get your rest today.
I have never played cribbage. I am addicted to Words with Friends somewhat....started playing with my Uncle who is 88 a few years ago, and it has just grown. Was playing the Dice Buddies....but lost interest. Words keeps my brain stimulated.
Tomorrow I have an outing with Nate. I am so excited. He is my sons friend that lived here for awhile. He asked me out to breakfast and then we are going on a photo shoot. This is what I need.
Dianne I have seen loons around here for first time ....enjoy them and always think of you. Still remember when I didn't know what one was at your place, that they DIVE deep for long time. Was ready to jump in and save one drowning. hahaha
Picture is of outside kitties that have adopted me. Have yet to touch one of them after over a year. But they let me know when hungry! Heddy is the gray patch calico, and Granger is the black one. YES after NCIS La crew.haha
Waving to everyone.....sending hugs
Debbie
Move happened, good thing son and grands came to help or it wouldn't have. It's the same old story here but I knew it would be and I'm determined not to let it get to me. Hubby and I get in the car and do all our griping to get it out of our system. I do love having the girls here and take comfort in knowing Amelia is eating better. I spend my time upstairs sewing so I don't see the stuff I know will wring me out.
On the bright side,we do have great new tenants. They are so happy with the house, they just keep doing things that we told them are our responsibility and we would do. They were in a tiny house without even a bathroom sink, so they think this place is wonderful. They are in good shape financially and trying to save to buy a house so we won't have them for many years, but I do appreciate having them here now.
Glad to hear Noah is with you.
Never heard of red tequila Dianne. Not a tequila drinker, unless it is in a Margarita.
LK I have trouble getting my head around a Red Tequila. I can't imagine someone drinking it. In this book where it was mentioned even the cat called Robert Johnson likes the drink. Of course that cat also likes to eat Mexican food.
Karen I am so happy to read your new tenants are turning out to be good ones.
Susan what are you up to today?
Dianne and her TH
