Nice of them to give you funds for, and build a new deck!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Wonderful Karen. It is nice when they remember all we did for them as they were growing and starting out as adults to have them help us as we get older. Mine are the same way and I'm so grateful that we did something right. They have values that are hard to instill now....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,
Not a sunshine day and likely a week filled with rain..on the good side likely to wash the winter yuk away.

What a great gift Karen, not only to get the funds but a work weekend as well..have a friend who used the composite wood for their deck, a hard coloured component that lasts a life time..her hubby made Adirondack chairs as well, takes 2 miles and a horse to move them. Lol

Rita soend the night last night, she has a meeting at 10:30 and is preparing for it..nice seeing her..got ideas as to what she would like to see on ROADTRIP 2017, now to work on different scenarios and meet to vote.

The badlands teip I prepared for last year is nowhere to be found and nobody saved it so must redo that one...big sigh, lots of work ahead but not today, head is a buzzing again, think I did too much over the weekend..was out Friday, Saturday and Sunday, best I do little today..

Everyone doing ok, have plans for the week?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, do we need to come up there and sit on you? PLEASE slow down. We know you have always been so active, but you need to listen to your Dr, and take it easy. When is your follow up with the Dr.?
We are not doing much here. Hubby is having a side effect from his new pills. ER Dr. gave him 3 new meds, he is now down to 1. Family Dr. seems to think one is OK. Time for a new Dr.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Can't get too much slower Lindakay lol

Is it hard to change doctors in USA? Know here it is virtually impossible

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

It's not hard to change Drs. here except for making a new choice and really how can you find out if you'll get along unless you see them a few times. I'm not all that happy with who I have but reluctant to go through all the hoo haa to change.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Same here Karen..tried once but because my file was so thick with issues re kidney etc he felt it was better I stay with my own doctor..now he has retired and with his replacement and I really like him, problem is you have to book appt a month away to get in..should call in and book one, keep it open just incase. Lol

Took a run to municipality and got burning permit, was told next year it's $25 for the year..that is ok as I use it a lot, few sprinkles of rain but set it afire, got about half done before rain got heavier..made room for more branches/tree limbs.

Lunch time then I'll have a little nap

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Same here Betty, we can change if we want to, and if the new one is in our insurance exchange. It takes at least a month to make an appointment.

Victoria Harbour, ON

There is no more feel sick, call doc and go in same day..more walk in clinics and nurse practitioners.

Already plopped in bed waiting for sleep angel to drop in

Wonder how Norm amd Barb are doing?
Lindakay did Todd stay home today?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Today was checkup day with the surgeon. Norm has done so well that the surgeon has released him. He can drive very short distances. Not lift anything more that 15-20 pounds. Now we see the primary care doctor tomorrow for a check with her. She is the one who listens and sent Norm for the stress test that started this journey. We are so grateful to her as well as being grateful for all the constant love, caring and prayers from everyone. Still a long way to go yet but we will get back to feeling good again I'm sure.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear the good report Barb.

Yes, Todd stayed home day. The new meds he is on, is causing severe muscle cramps in his shoulder, and he can't move it. Dr. told him to stop the meds, and it will take awhile for the cramps to go away.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Wow! Barb, Norm is doing great, so glad to hear that.

Takes forever to get an appointment with our Drs. too. There are 8 in the service and if you call needing to see someone, they just tell you to go to urgent care or the hospital.

Lyndonville, NY

Barb this is such good news. May I suggest when you two go to a doctors office today....and this next month. Wear a mask! There is some nasty bugs going around and neither on of you needs it! I was at docs yesterday and the nurse said she comes out ever hour....and wipes the door knobs and chair rails and where people sign in, trying to cut down on germs somewhat. She has not seen it this bad in long time.

We have rain and another high wind warning. Nothing like before they said but gusts to 50....which can rattle already weakened trees.

I have so much work to do here. Need to get busy and am just now having my
first coffee.

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon everyone from rainy Victoria Harbour....

Fantastic news Barb, hard to believe they would let Norm dribble so soon, it totally amazes me that an operation of this major one could recoup so quickly and get on with life..great info Debbie, yes masks are a must, I'd say gloop se as well..everyone around here have flu/cold and pneumonia.

Not good news about Todd Lindakay, am sure he hates missing days..will take time for these meds to leave his body..will they prescribe another type?

Karen how are things going having an extended familupy with you again? Hope you didn't lose your sewing room.

wanted to rake a bit but it's a no go..aline and Pat came to see, always nice spending the morning together..missed June as she is in mega pain..ann dropped in, her granddaughter has her 3rd attempt to getting tonsils out on thursday and she is fighting a cough so highly unlikely they will operate

Ziggy watched and listened while we played today, had best seat in the house

Have to run to midland this afternoon, that new cel has never worked since I bought it so has to be replaced, pat asked me to pick up another towel for her..she finished hers and knows DH Don will want one. Tuesday is Kentucky fried chicken day so no cooking again tonight...tomorrow night I'm in Honey Harbour for supper, don and Lois live on Georgian Bay, always enjoy my meals with them..

That is about all that is new with me

Todd id back to work today, should is still sore, but he is being a typical stubborn man. He sees his family Dr. next week, he will get new meds then.

Breathtaking Lindakay, how you must love walking amongst them..favorite is last photo on 1st post..

Not good at roses but I did buy a few carpet roses and they do well, maybe I need a little area and just have roses..

You could always visit for a few weeks!

Lyndonville, NY

Oh LindaKay those are beautiful!!! Just love the colors.

I am like Betty, sitting in a rain storm.....and the wind is horrific again. Not as bad
as last....but gusting to 50 mph and they say it will bring any lose branches down left hanging from before.

DH giving his pherisis tonight so am home alone until 6:30 enjoying quiet.

Stay safe

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty, one thing I absolutely refused to do was give up my sewing space. We did make a few changes here and there. For the most part it's going good. We set up an area for Amelia to have her toys down here and her book case is upstairs by her bed.
Our new tenants seem like they are going to work out very well.. They are mostly moved in. His dad is painting Amelia's old room which was Cinderella pink and for some reason their boy doesn't care for it. I never have a problem with how tenants want to decorate.I've told them they could hang pics or what ever they wanted. There are curtains but they are free to change them. We do have to get some screens repaired as previous tenant felt the need to poke holes so he could shoot out them.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Drats, wrote an entire novel and its in cyberspace now..

Karen, great to hear you didn't have to give up your sewing space, that would have been heart breaking! You are good landlords, those are hard to find.

Debbie, it's raining here but not much wind, hoping Dianne has same. After picking up all the branches and limbs over the weekend I sure wouldn't want to have to do it all over again, if we keep losing more branches the trees I'll look pretty skimpy.

Spent afternoon working on ROADTRIP 2017.. Need to get 3 scenarios done so we can get together next week or week after and review them and see which will be this year's trip..will either be Nashville/New Orleans/Memphis. Or. Badlands Wyoming and North Dakota. Or. Coastline of South Carolina and Georgia
Tired so hoping to drift off into Layla land

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Betty my sewing area is where I draw my line in the sand. I have less than a 5th of the space up stairs. There is a King size bed, two double beds, 5 twin beds. Who keeps that kind of sleeping space for company that hardly ever comes? I also have a couple of blow up beds. Which the kids think are the best to sleep on. If we have more than that, I have comfy couches but not one inch will I move my sewing area.
Older I get the ornerier I get.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Lol, maybe you should open up a b & b Karen, you have enough beds to do so. Lol

That's like one of my spare rooms having twin beds..going to give them away and buy a double or queen, better for those who do spend a night or two.

Barb how are you and Norm doing?

Lindakay, how's Todd doing now that hope has been off meds for a few days?

Going out for supper tonight so best I get a move on
This time of year one never knows how to dress with changes in temp..have more clothes than I know what to do with and still looking for something to wear.

Waving to everyone else..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Todd is doing better. Thanks. He is back to work.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Typed a big post yesterday and now I don't see it Bet I forgot to hit send!!!!
We are on the road to wellness now I think. Norm is doing fantastic bouncing back from the surgery. His cold/flu is still hanging in a bit but getting much better. The only problem I see with him is in his eyes. Ever since the surgery, his pupils do not dilate anymore. Our primary doctor checked it Tuesday and is looking into it with the surgeon and anesthesia doctor to see if there is any relation. Then it will be on to an eye specialist. His pupils are tiny-like pin heads. And do not change at all. Could end up being very serious.
I am doing much better since Tuesday. My doctor knew the prednisone I was given was not strong enough for me. So I am on a new taper and am feeling much better. Ribs are still very sore from all the coughing but they will heal.... Finally getting some decent sleep too. So all in all things are on the right track.
I must get busy and make the little one next door a new sweater. The one I made is too small!!!!! She really likes to eat she does.
Hope this finds all of you doing well and I will check in again soon.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

For the most part sounds like good news Barb. I do hope they figure the problem with Norm's eyes and can get it corrected.
I have a presentation on Saturday in Charlevoix, a very pretty town about 1 1/2 hours north of us. This is another WWII vet. Always feel good to present to them. It's an Aha I made it feeling.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all, pouring rain here..was in Barrie for 9am to pick up fabric I needed to a project done..wasn't a nice drive so glad to be home..wanted to pick up cough candies as I'm dealing with sore throat and forgot, get I have to go out again..

Barb, like Karen said, semi good news..strange isn't it, let's hope he eye problem is temporary...does norm say it's causing problems seeing? Strange outcomes from surgery sometimes..glad you've better meds, must be feeling better if you are looking to knit a bit.

Karen, I'm sure the vet will be thrilled with the quilt he is presented with and a nice outing for you..an 1 1/2 hr drive north, Lordy must be the most northerly part of Michigan.

Omg omg went for supper last night, there were 8 of us, they are all about 10+ years older than I, well for the first time they invited a man who loss his wife about three weeks ago, I almost last out and was at a loss for words, as we were all leaving he said he'd call me to take me out for supper..NOT know he must be terribly lonely and needs company but truly, don't know him and think there are others closer to him

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Barb - hope that Norm's eyes get sorted. Sounds disconcerting but I'm sure it's temporary. I'm not a Dr of course, but the body bounces back a lot better than we give it credit for. *Hugs* to both of you.
Betty - all I can say is "wow!" Maybe, not just being lonely, but as it's only 3 weeks since his wife passed he needs company and you were the youngest one there. Flattering, of course, but you know what suits you best.

It's a lovely day outside, and will be going to the Library to do some re-organizing of furniture. Tonight I have a Fitness class at 8pm.
Tristan says he'll have our den finished with the mudding/taping by tomorrow afternoon.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Well Betty - I guess we never know what an impression we make on others. He sounds like he may be smitten with you!!!!
Watching this eye problem very closely. If his eyes don't dilate there will be no night driving at all. He also is saying that he can see farther away but things close are fuzzy. I'm thinking this will be an eye specialist problem...
Your presentation sounds like it will be a great one for both you and the vet Karen. I'm so proud of you.
Glad to hear the room will soon be done Susan.
Must get out on Sunday for more yarn. Raining hard here until then.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about Norms eyes Barb. I pray the specialist can do something to correct the problem.

Betty, sounds like you have a dinner date next week. :)

Todd and I will be leaving for Austin in the morning. There is a huge hotrod show. e will be back Sunday afternoon. I will check in when I can.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Have fun Linda, glad you're both feeling up to it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning,

Winter is back..grrr

Susan, hope by weekends end you can start the painting process.

Barb NO date that is for sure, can give you a guarantee on that! Lol

You always enjoy your jaunt to the Hotrod exposition Lindakay, do you manage a fabric shop or two? Hope so..hope weather cooperates as I imagine most is outdoors.

Worked on ROADTRIP 2017 last night, have option A and option B done, now for Option C, trying to set up a date to meet next week so need to get it done..it's likely a waste of my time as I know LINDA/Suzanne really want to go back to New Orleans.

Grabbing a coffee and going downstairs, want to get the towel sets done Paul and Wilena and even maybe delivered tonight as I would like to visit with my uncle Alan who had lung cancer and doing poorly, that is if weather permits.

Hooe it's a sunshine day in your neck of the woods

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Still raining here but supposed to stop soon. It is so dreary you don't feel like doing much at all.
Norm is doing well. Feeling better and stronger every day. My new prednisone treatment is taking hold as well and I'm breathing so much easier. Still have sore ribs areas but that will heal soon. Hope to actually get out of the house for something other than a doctor appointment this weekend. Need to get yarn for the next sweater for the little one next door. She is growing by leaps and bounds.
Sounds like everyone is keeping busy with one project or another. That is good as we all wait for better weather. It has been nasty this spring for sure. Flooding is low areas here today but we are up on the hill so no worries.
Sending hugs and prayers to all. Hope your car show is great LK... And your visit goes well Betty.
Hi Laurel!!! Been following along with your spring too and your quilting is beyond measure.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Sorry that Spring hasn't gotten to you yet, Betty - Just a little bit longer and you'll be enjoying it though.
Going to choir practice today - our church is thinking of resurrecting a choir. This is just for Palm & Easter Sundays.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Tsick tsick
In bed hoping to feel better come morning

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

*Hugs* Betty - hope you get lots of good rest and feel better soon.

Tristan didn't show up today to do the drywall finishing, so we found someone's name on our Community Board outside the post office. He came by & said he'd finish the drywall for $280. I'd rather pay someone than rely on the Barter system with Tristan. I know that other people are reliable with bartering, but apparently Tristan is not.
Gino will see how he feels tomorrow (may take the weekend off) and come on Tues to do all the work, or if he's not too tired he'll start tomorrow for a few hours and complete it on Tues. He told us that we need to get some Drywall Prep paint before painting. Didn't realize that was what we needed, but I felt we needed something more than just paint on plain drywall. I'm glad we have someone who sounds more reliable. I am pretty tired of getting the run around from oh-so-many people over the past year.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Hope things go well with Gino.

Lyndonville, NY

Good morning, Snow is finally melting a bit. Have had enough of the winter. Yesterday was in 30s.....tomorrow 60s or 70s.

Susan....Gino is right, you need a special paint over the top of the drywall to seal it off....or you will get moisture problems and any paint put on it....will suck right into the drywall and not give you what you want or need.

Betty where are you? You feeling any better?

Barb, so happy you and Norm are doing a bit better. How are his eyes? My Moms eyes did that after her surgery but never found out why. She had had a cataract surgery and also had glaucoma so not sure if it was related.

DH is working today (Yeaaaaah) and I am puttering in the house with the dog and trying to get some little things done...with not much energy.

Have a good day....stay safe and warm
Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just woke up,managed to get to the couch, hot cross bun and coffee.

Glad all are doing ok and like you Debbie it 48 here today and in 70,s over next couple of days, not a wonder everyone is sick.

Debbie always nice to have house to yourself, too bad you can't open doors and have coffee outdoors, perhaps tomorrow.

Hope finally Susan you will be at the point of painting..

Dropped towel bags of to Paul yesterday, mhe loved them then went to see my uncle Allan, not doing well. His son Doug was about to call the family then with a few lung treatments he settled and much improved, but only temporary.

I think I will make an effort to get dressed and really try to get something done.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Barb - how are Norm's eyes?
Debbie, I'm with you - enough of winter. Saw we're supposed to get "isolated flurries" on Wed, but not much. Glad your snow is finally melting.
Betty - glad you're taking it easy. Think I'll make some hot cross buns. I'm sure I have the ingredients......

Yes, I'll be glad to start painting, then it's time to do the panelling, papering, and then the floor. We have laminate flooring that we bought.
Apparently you also have to prime before wallpapering. Things you learn when you do all these reno's eh?

Victoria Harbour, ON

When I wallpaper Susan I just wash walls with stp

Still in nighty nut have to get dressed..Doug was hoping I could visit uncle Allan tonight as he had to go home as to bring his scoot home, it's good over ice/water but no so just on water..hopes he can put his boat in tomorrow Ashe are calling for temps in 60's 70's so I will go then pick up supper
