He was at work yesterday, and came home early as he was not feeling well, but told me it was just slow and he came home. This morning when I got up, he told me his hand and face was numb. I got dressed, and told him to get in the car, we were going to the ER.
Yes, they gave him meds for it as soon as we got to the ER.
Dr. just told us that he did have 2 small strokes, one on each side of the brain, he is on blood thinners, and he has to get his blood pressure under control. No surgery is needed at this time.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends Old/New, join us...
That is semi good news Lindakay..will he be home for a tad? Men, so glad you insisted he go to the hospital.has he been fighting high blood pressure for some time?
He will be released tomorrow.
Yes, he has had blood pressure for years.
Glad he is doing OK Linda Kay! Prayers for a complete recovery.
Thank you so much.
Sending positive thoughts and prayers LK for Todd and yourself. I am so glad you got him to the hospital. Is it too early to tell how much rehab Todd will need?
One of our nephews had a small stroke apparently in his sleep. He didn't even know until a couple of years later when he had a MRI.
Sunny but still very cold here.
Stay safe and warm everyone.
Dianne
I don't think he will need therapy, as he has no side affects from the stroke, other than tingling in his right hand and face.
oh Linda - SO glad that you got him to the ER. I'm thinking about him driving home from work, and not saying anything about not feeling well. MEN!! If he'd been in an accident it may have affected others, and not just him. My prayers & thoughts are with you both.
Those pups are adorable! At 4 days old they're so cute!
Susan & I got to go to the Gopher Hole Museum in Torrington - cute!
Here's some pics of the museum. They're dioramas, with stuffed ground squirrels. A couple of albinos, and black ones - very rare apparently.
Morning..sunshine day but cold, won't warm up til next week.
Was up most of the night so I'm enjoying my coffee, watching little birdies at the feeders and Ziggy sleep, now he sleeps Grrr lol
Hoping Norm and Todd are feeling better today
Hope Todd didn't go to work today, that he is taking a few days off.
Barb, are you home and seeing Norm is doing so well have they given a date to work towards for him to come home?
Guess I should stop being lazy and get dressed
Good morning!
It's good to wake up in my own bed. Came home yesterday afternoon after visiting with Norm. He is doing fantastic. Talked to him a bit ago and the tubes come out today and he may be up walking later. I will go back to the hospital tomorrow.
I am so happy to read the reports about Todd LK. Thank heaven you got him to the hospital as quickly as you did. Hoping he takes good care of himself.... You both are in my prayers.
Morning Barb, you must be so relieved as is Norm I'm sure to have this behind you..wonderful news indeed..
There was a chalk board in my room, every time I took a little walk, it was duly noted on the board. Minimum was 4 times a day. Doesn't sound like much but trust me it was and I was ever so glad to be back to my bed after each one.
I came home with a walker, One day I started to get out of my chair to go to the bathroom and Amelia grabbed the walker and took it in there. She said there I helped you grammy.
What a sweetheart Karen. I have a walker here that will work for him. He doesn't have far to walk to go to the bathroom, living room or kitchen. But it is enough to make him work for it....
We are so relieved that the operation went as well as it did. Now the hard part starts.
How are things in Canada Betty? I'm still waiting to have our parking area plowed out. Had to park in a snowbank last night!!!! And more snow due tomorrow afternoon but not supposed to be very much this time.

Barb, the storm missed us..most of the yard is grass, snow remains where plow built up mounds when snow plowing,..do say that we will get some this week, hoping not.
I'm sure over next few days Norm will get antsy and want to get home to your loving care.
Glad to hear you are getting some rest barb. Sounds like Norm will be home soon.
We are home, Dr.'s finally got Todd's blood pressure down, so they released him. Told him to take it easy, and change his diet, but he will go back to work Monday.
Hope he sticks to a diet Lindakay, perhaps this episode was enough to frighten him
Barb - you deserve the rest. Good that you're getting it. Also glad to hear that Norm's doing well too - hope he gets home soon.
LK - good to hear that Todd's been released because his BP's down. I'm sure he's happy to be going back to work on Monday.
We had a turkey dinner tonight - it's Susan's fav food, so of course we had to have it!! Lots of leftovers too lol
Sleep Angels need a gps, missed my house again..
Pain killers aren't helping sciatic nerve, done a load of wash, cleaned washroom, hot bath..just too gravol in hopes it puts me to sleep, will play a few games of scrabble and hope for the best.
Have a full day tomorrow, don't want to be nodding off.
Lordy, bath, gravol worked like a charm..eep sleep..now I'm running late
Enjoy your day!
Glad to hear you got some sleep. Enjoy your day!
Susan, sounds like you are enjoying Susan's visit.
Just got back, Lordy pain in the butt mega time..know I've been the pain in the butt to some but don't like being it to myself.
Got everything done except ordering the tires for my car and making appt to get the snows off, they've been closed last couple of Saturday's as their busy season will start shortly so I'll call on Monday and make arrangement, other than that pleased with the morning but tired myself out.
Karen, your package was at the post office, hadn't been all week so likely it was here at beginning of week..made good time
Get to out another to do on my list. Lol. I so thank you, chenille is just perfect
Barb, am sure you will see great improvement when you see norm, even a day makes a big difference
Lindakay is Todd behaving?
Checking in and catching up. Thought I posted via my cell phone but nothing here!!!
We had about 25 inches snow from storm. AND with the wind storm also...I be a hurting buckaroo. We need the entire south side of house roof replaced, and if they can't match the shingles.....we have to have the entire roof done to match. I am not thrilled with this.
Having a wicked case of the dizzies....walking, bending...all...and I am grabbing to hold on. Not sure if it is from allergy shots, sinus infection or what. But it can stop any time. Will call doc Monday if not better.
Had some flurries this morning but thankfully they stopped.
Waving to all....
Stay safe..take care of yourself...
Debbie
Wouldn't be bad if it was,an,insurance claim Debbie, you would be set for another 20 years..sorry to hear about damage though.
Yikes, worse feeling ever is dizziness, smart lady about calling doctor on Monday I'd it persists.
How is your fil doing?
Sounds like you were busy this morning Betty, please don't over do it.
Sorry to hear about the damage Debbie.
Todd is doing really good, watching what he eats. He is talking about finally putting in his retirement papers. We will see.
That would be good news wouldn't it Lindakay?
When are you travelling to Michigan re your dad's service?
When I checked the flyers which I never do, there were so many items at 2 different stores, marked items down and could not believe prices..didn't spent over $75 and came home with a car load.
Went to the little country boutique, they were unpacking glass units that light up with virtual stars in them, (modern) costly but couldn't resist as I'm thinking of packing up some of my country things and try to go modern, last time I did that I gave country away, hated the other look and had to but more lol..won't get rid until I'm comfortable with new look
Betty, glad the package arrived, hope the chenille will work for the snowmen.
A bit of excitement today. Hubby was out filling feeders when he saw this male Piliated woodpecker at the base of a tree. It kept trying to climb and fly and couldn't manage either. He carried it in, it was squawking the whole time and trying to bite him. We called DNR and an officer picked it up and was taking it to a rehabber. There were no obvious injuries and the bird was plenty strong. Something is wrong or he couldn't have been caught. Normally they are very shy and quick to fly away I hope we hear from rehabber how he does.
Am sure it will work Karen, excited to try that snowman pillow.
What a beautiful bird, let's hope nothing serious.
He is beautiful Karen!!! Hope they let you know.
I visited with Norm for a few hours today. The tubes are out. He has horrendous bruises all up and down the leg where they harvested the veins needed. But he has been up walking several times and each time must be a few minutes longer than the time before. He is finally starting to realize just how big an operation this was. And now he is also resigning himself to recuperation time and following the doctor's orders. Our son David took me down today. He is the one who had 5 bypasses done two years ago. They were able to exchange stories and Dave had several suggestions for Norm to help make recuperating easier. All in all it was a good day. But now I am wiped out... Tomorrow I need to be at the hospital for Cardiac teaching. That's when Stacy and I find out all the stuff we will need to be doing, watching, etc. And then they said he may come home on Monday!!!! I hope it is not too soon as it is 50 miles back to the hospital... I'm sure they wouldn't let him go if there was any question.
Going to say goodnight and head for my PJs and bed with a book. I might ;make it through a few pages. LOL
Todd Betty Debbie and Susan and any in need are in my prayers tonight.
Betty, I am thinking of going to Michigan, the middle to the end of May. I am hoping the weather will be warm by then. I will let you know the dates when I book my flights. I hope we can meet up somewhere. Maybe Karen can join us in Frankenmuth again?
Barb, glad to hear he will be coming home soon.
I'd love to meet up with the two of you again. Let me know when you have a date so I can keep it clear.
Morning, sunny but bitter cold brrr
Sure hope it can work out, only weekend I'm not available is may 20th weekend, long weekend Rita and I are going stateside..watch it be that weekend, hooe not.
got an email from Sharon saying inuk won the Nationals, quite a win I think, will learn more about it when she gets home tonight
I will work my trip around your week end Betty.
I have a presentation in May but no date set as yet. Think I will try to see if they have decided as yet. It's family so I can push a little.
Weekend after 20th is Memorial Holiday.
Sooner you get your flight arranged the cheaper it is Linda.

Hmmm...Michigan to see the girls. You will have a blast
Doing some critter chores and laundry...watching snow melt. 7 more hours til Spring!!!!
I just love the quilt that Ziggy is sleeping on. Are those all just 5" squares? Looks so pretty with the flowers appliqued on top.
Went to see Norm today and had the meeting with the cardiac care nurse. She gave us a half hour talk on what Norm can do and can't do when he comes home which will be tomorrow!!!!! He will have a lot of restrictions for a while but he is determined to do what he must to heal properly. I'm so proud of him keeping this attitude. He says he knows he must keep it up when he gets home too.
Oh Debbie, it would be great if you could come too.
