(((Debbie))) Prayers for MIL,Paul, his family and for you. Couldn't agree more with Barb .... no one especially you needs the 'drama'. I am thinking your not so DDs could possibly be there or dropping in. You definitely don't need that ADDED stress.Love ya sis and am holding you close to my heart.

Not surprised Norm is anxious. What time is the procedure ? I want to be able to give extra prayers especially to the surgical team.

No surprise I have been up for quite awhile. Am going to take something for my headache, get vertical and close my eyes. I have the TH an extra special large chewie that I keep in reserve for days like this. They'll be busy for hours.

It is dull, gray day. No sign of the forecasted heavy rain plus T and L.

Pat, Deb, Sharon how goes it with you ? Missing your posts.

Good morning on this foggy morning, severe weather heading our way weatherman says..we will see.

Barb said it well Debbie, must look after your well being, ask me I know how wars can be started with just a glance when someone is critically ill and mixture of family gather. Praying good news comes this morning.

Barb, hugs for Norm, the not knowing is worse than the knowing. Am sure you are as worried as he.

Almost ready to leave for town, want to do my Christmas visiting and groceries, wanting to be home around 1:00.p so the entire day isn't lost

Ziggy got on back deck, crying 'let me out'

Prayers for your MIL Debbie.

All quiet here, pups due in 2 weeks, mommy to be not sleeping through the night, so that means I'm not sleeping through the night. She's always slept with me and will bark and claw at the door if I close her out of the bedroom, and I don't want her stressed out. She'll last about 3 hours then needs to go out, so everyone goes out, and I'm wide awake, try to get back to sleep, and she'll last another 3 hours before she wakes me up again. Big project at work, that I need to get done and I'm just not functioning well because of lack of sleep. The things we do for these animals!

Thank you all....I do hear all your words ....bite my tongue and turn away.

Betty Shane and Shannon have been there daily. No signs of the Not so DDs. They do know and are informed. I do not think oldest one has seen her grandmother in 5 years at least!!! And I don't think other has been for maybe 2 years. They should both be feeling a bit of guilt....hope it sinks in what they are doing. I don't think it will though. People have arguments and get angry.....but you don't cut them out of your life...you talk it through and not walk away!!!

Ok.....DH let me know CT scan showed no signs of brain bleed or stroke. Family decided if no signs of improvement by tomorrow....they will stop all medical intervention and put it in Gods hands. I think that is the right decision.f

Yes...DH has told me straight up....he knows where my heart is and that I have more medical knowledge and it helps him for me to talk him through what is going on and to understand more. I am more intent on keeping the "Grandkids" up there safe and happy....as they shouldn't be there 24/7 in my book. A 10 year old there from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. is NOT good. Nor is the immature 13 year old racing wheelchair around room....in ICU area!!! No one says a thing to them.

OK off my horse and soap box. Raining heavy here

Betty please do NOT let Ziggy out. He has never been out so doesn't know that and will be pray to any wildlife or cars.

Hugs to you all....
Debbie

Hugs for Norm
Debbie - prayers for your MIL - how very frightening, for your DFIL. Even a hefty person with no disability could not lift a tiny person by themselves when that person is unconscious.
Bob slept on the couch last night - I'm still restless and he can't sleep with me.......
Our friend Susan from Atlanta is coming to visit on March 9th. Looking forward to the visit for 1 week.

Shows how bad my headache is ...lol I need to get horizontal. Going to try that now.

Grrrr CRAZY weather, storm blowing through, spring like this morning and now a blizzard..

Debbie, were you able to get some rest? Stressful times..would have thought the not so nice dad's would be there for their dad if not for their grandmother. Glad there is no brain bleed..perhaps she is just giving up.

Deb bet you are anxious for the birth of the doggies..Sharon's showed her little miss is carrying at least 4.

Dianne, mfeel so badly for you...when I was at my aunts she was telling me joanne her daughter, about 54 has been fighting cancel since she was in her early 20's is now taking a special treatment in Kingston. Moshe lived up near "M"'s then moved in my community, when told she needed this special treatment it was going to be 3-4 times a week so moved to Kingston to be closer to her treatments..aunt Exilda wasn't sure what kind of treatment if was, she could have gone north to the Saullt Ste Marie or Kingston and chose your area as her daughter lives near there..think they bought their home in Ayers??

Susan you will so enjoy her visit..rest so you will be up to it.

Ohh supper is ready best I eat it before it gets cold

Norm's appointment on Monday is a consultation to finally tell us the results from the stress test done on Feb 1. He was told his heart is abnormal and no shoveling and that is it!!!! So he has been living on pins and needles ever since. We need answers!!!

Working on a knitted baby blanket - 1st ball baby blue, 2 balls of variegated baby blue/cream/dk brown, then last ball of baby blue. Hope to have it done for Tues so I can give it to Sandy for the African baby blanket charity.

It's been snowing all day - started with tiny flakes, and went to big fluffy ones, now wet snow where it almost looked like ice fog. Went to Olds to get the variegated wool because I ran out of the baby blue (not enough for a blanket), and they didn't have any plain baby blue blanket wool. This should look nice when done.

Oh Barb the poor guy. The waiting is just going to make his heart abnormalities worse.I hope the apptment is for early in the day.

March 9 is really close Susan. What a great treat for you both.

Wind has really picked up. Sounds like a freight train is going through the house.Started up the wood stove so it is more than toasty in here. I always have a window in the bedroom cracked to get some air.

Sweet dreams everyone.

Dianne - this year will be better than last year's visit with Susan (I was in the hospital for most of it), and she'll be returning in July, for camping & "Christmas in July" :-D
This makes her third visit to see us.
Betty - I will be resting up, as well as exercising to strengthen up

Think the sleep angel got lost in the blizzard, Lordy it's bad out there.

Debbie, any update on MIL?

Barb, norm is always a going concern, must be driving him around the bend being watchful..hope this weather is not in your neck of the woods and appt needing to be rescheduled.

Dianne, bet you are happy that on those nice days you stacked wood closer. Crackling sound would put me to sleep..hmmm have fireplace in bedroom, has option of cracking, maybe I should turn it on lol. How is the headache?

Susan, what do you have planned for Susan's arrival and her stay.

Karen thought of you today, while visiting Uncle Loius I asked him about the war..interested, he spent 4 1/2 years in the army..enjoyed our talk about some his army pals..amazed me how he is so with it mentally. Proud of our government for looking after our vets..he told me representative comes every 3 months for a visit to see if there is anything he needs..this fall put railings on the entrance of their home, paid to have someone come shovel, upped his pension, should upgrades be needed he has to call and they will assess and help fund. He still drives and was showing me the new walker they gave him forth use while shopping...heartfelt he says!

Well think I will try to find that sleep angel

Lyndonville, NY

It is 2:10 and i been at hospital since morning. Decision made and vent was removed. Now is up to her and God.
Labored breathing but holding own.

No rest. 2 hiurs sleep last night none today. Shane is bere with me.
Too much drama.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning..winter wonderland out there, mega snow overnight..I will be staying in today for sure..

Debbie, glad Shane is there with you..know you want to be there to support Paul but you've not been that well yourself, perhaps you should go home and get some sleep.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I hope you get some rest Debbie. Sending prayers for all the family.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - for this portion of her trip we won't be doing a lot, except for driving around showing her the countryside where we now live and introduce her to our new friends. I'm still healing, and my funds won't have come in while she's here. We'll spend a lot of time visiting.
She needs a vacation though - she's been working every day since Jan 30th, with only 1/2 day off on Super Bowl Sunday when her team, the Atlanta Falcons, were playing. (I got her a wee pressie though - a water bucket & pennant, with their logo) She's awfully tired, and looking forward to some rest & relaxation.
When she comes in July we'll be doing more (camping and Christmas).

Hooray - no more blood thinner needles! Had my last one yesterday :D

Betty, how awesome your country treats your veterans so well. I'm ashamed of how ours are so lacking in care. Many are homeless and the medical care is horrid. Veterans hospitals are NOT a good place to go for care. I love sitting and talking with veterans. I find their stories fascinating. I'm sure they appreciate having someone willing to listen too.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Very interesting indeed
Was telling he and a local town boy when heading to Germany stood in line up for their orders, mthey stood side by side hoping they would go to same unit, he said the officer walked right between them and said to my left you go here, to my right you go here..dang they were divided.

He also said there was a booze run, he doesn't drink, said the minister went with the guys..several days later they wondered where the minister was, found his cane, he had been captured and out into a nazi camp never to be seen again..

Going to make him a quilt for our July 1st celebration as a thank you and speak with him further..spend time in England,Germany, holland and several other countries..am sure there are few of his group still left..he still goes to functions at the legion.

Holy wah, Andrew just came to plow, well over a foot, know that because it's obpver my boots, coming down like crazy.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Wow Betty, you really got hit, we only have about 4"

Verona, ON

Windy, quite cold but sunny. We are expecting Betty's weather.

Spent a couple of hours outside. Got more wood in plus filled up the wheelbarrow so I have another load set to come in the house. I also played around with my new chain saw - must remember to wear my steel toed work books. Just as a safety factor. Used the leaf blower and got all the saw dust, chips of wood and leaves out of the carport. Was able to put all my recycle bins out so they are not in the way.Best of all I was able to clean up after the dogs in the area where I look out the window most.If I can summon the energy later I will use the leaf blower on the deck and get all the dog hair and winter crud out of the way. Still a huge amount to do but am glad to have done some.

Soon going to lay my head down for a bit. My headache is much better today and my eyes are focusing like they should. I hate when they go all wonky.

Betty your uncle is VERY blessed. Not all veterans receive the care and assistance
that he does. As Karen knows all too well there are many who do not get the help they need - the suicide rate especially over the last 15 years has escalated plus those suffering from PSTD have difficulty getting the correct assistance.

Deb it was good to see you post. Don't be a stranger.

LK your temp still going through the roof? That must be hard for your dogs.

Make sure you all do something nice for yourself today ladies.

I just used that Gorilla glue for the first time. It is as good as it claims. WOW A few years ago 1 of Warren's cousins was here and broke a Wedgewood ashtray that was my late FIL's. He was so upset but I kept it as it was a clean break. Earlier this morning I used the Gorilla glue and in seconds it was fixed. I plan to send it to him as he has nothing from his mother's (Warren's) side of the family.

Going to have to buy some then Dianne, you always wonder gpjow good some of these advertised products are.

Greg dropped in the put the stitch regular I bought on the quilting machine..took him 45 minutes, would have taken me forever..great son, as busy as he is he found time to help..had to go to work today, bust, said he has 2 more employees starting next week (now 4) from Fred hooks..I feel badly but he says they apply, get hired, nothing to do with him but am sure Fred hook is not happy and will blame him

He saw the receipt. $860, smiled and said expensive toy for something so small..will try it later, hope it does what they say it will do...need to watch tutorial on it.
Sun is out, wind is up, looks pretty out there

Dianne, safety shoes and goggles a must.

Working on all kinds of projects today

Temperature is really nice today. 76 this afternoon. The dogs love the heat, they lay in they yard for hours!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Tummy's queasy today - seems to have been for the past couple of days. Taking pepto-bismal for it. Seems to be working, after a fashion, and after awhile...... Got a bit of runny nose, and feeling kinda yucky/chilled. Guess it's time to hunker down under a blanket and watch tv while knitting, and get off the computer lol

edited to say - not all veterans get the care that they need. If they don't say anything, they fall through the crack, as I'm sure it is in the US, too. It's sad the care that's missed for our gallant I know of Churches who try to help out with food & non-perishables. Bless all of the veterans in both our countries - they served us well.

Morning all, snowing again, must get out and shovel

Hope Barb that it's good weather for Norm to go for his appointment..praying all can be healed without an operation..

Debbie, how is your MIL doing?

Waving to all others, I'm Ina mission today

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, Debbie posted on Facebook, that her MIL passed away.

Two hours ago she posted, "Heaven has gained a very special Angel. Peaceful journey Mom/Grandma G."

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

So sorry for your loss, Debbie. Prayers for strength for you and your family in this difficult time.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sorry for her family's loss.
As Judy would say, big arm wraps from all of us..

Wonder how Norm made out this morning?

Debbie - *Big Hugs* to you on the loss of your dear MIL

Bob's finished putting poly over all the insulation in the den - walls & ceiling.
We put in a call to our drywaller, and are waiting to hear from him. Then someone else is coming to do the mud'ing. Then we'll have to do the flooring. We're getting there..........
Hope to have it done before Susan gets here.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Is that wishful thinking Susan or is a possibility if all workers fall into place..I would think dry walling would be easy for Bob after building the room?? I did drywall and muddling in the basement, had a dry wallet come and said he couldn't have done better..haven't got one crack

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

no, Bob can't do it by himself. The ceiling drywall is 4x12ft and there's no way he can lift it by himself. Our drywallers are coming tomorrow morning, and it will be done in one day. Then the mudders have to come to mud & tape it. We have all the material. The guy who did the door frame & install said he'd do the floor just to let him know when. We've told them we need it done before March 10th.
My big thing is that we need to get all the furniture brought in, and assembled (the desk will take about a day to assemble.
The contractors are agreeable to our time frame, knowing we have company coming.
This is getting exciting!!
I'm getting more flexible, btw Next physio is Wed morning.

Nice to have something to get excited about Susan ,been long time coming..

I'm looking for my next house project, few things I'd like to see done..Bernie DB will be home from Florida end of next month, he will be looking for odd jobs, hope I'm on his schedule, now to fing what I want him to do. Lol

So much I wanted to get done today, am accomplishing little steps on big projects but tired and still fighting headache.

Good thing is I cooked complete turkey dinner yesterday so have lots to eat for super, likely no cooking most of the weeks..happy about that

Wonder how Norm made out and how Debbie is doing??

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Our most sincere sympathies Debbie to you and Paul. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Norm goes in hospital on Thursday for a catherization. If possible stents will be put in. if not he will stay in for a bypass. They won't know how bad things are until they get in there. So we are still waiting but at least we know where we are headed.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Keeping you and Norm in our prayers.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Hugs to you and Norm, Barb. If it's stents, will they do them right then? First time around, that's how they did mine, but maybe because I was having heart attack. Bypass is a much bigger deal, hoping it's not needed, but if it is, I'm sure he's in good hands. I'm sure it's better having either procedure before there is the damage of a heart attack.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

*Hugs* Barb, to you & Norm. I pray for whatever's best & easiest for Norm. HIS hands will help the surgeons in everything they do.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Thank you dear friends. I know he will be in the best of hands and I truly trust this hospital... After all, it is the same one I go to!!!!!
If he needs stents, they will be put in on Thursday. If he needs bypass it will be scheduled ASAP. So I won't know more until Thursday...

Victoria Harbour, ON

Afternoon, Drats did too much with head yesterday, paid for it.

Barb, it's a blessing that Norm didn't have a heart attack, likely they will be able to do stents and he will be as good as new..still a worry though!

Gals came this morning and accomplished much, all left a little bit ago smiling big time.

Had lunch, another turkey dinner, balance in freezer for another week, it's nap time..need to go to town this afternoon so am sure I can get a good hour in, hoping to anyway.
