Up and at it, well the at it is on the couch..stillwood it's Betty right..wonder if you meant "M" whose friend Lorna was going through a terrible time re amputation?? If so was on this thread..as Susan said, don't be a stranger.
So glad you ladies got out during this reprieve from snow.
Is muddy here as well Dianne, but the walkway I shovelled when we had snow is now glare ice so be watchful while outside.
Imagine, I sent a box out to Liz in California from Buffalo about 11am Saturday, she emailed me, arrived yesterday..still boggles my mind
Oh another thing, Debbie had order catalogues from Missouri quilt for me, before she got her quilt she noted how she loved the one on fron cover done in blue's..ahhhh same pattern I gave her. Lol
Have you ever tried Dianne excedrin migraine, only get it stateside but I could send you some to try..I used to have to go to hospital for a shot when I got them but now a few of them at the onset and seems to get rid of them or take the edge off.
Hungry, haven't eaten well last 2 days, think I will warm up chicken Alfredo and have an early lunch

Best/Wirse/What did I learn today?chat with friend old/new,come join us!!
Betty - you haven't eaten at all for 2 days? Not good. I know from experience that you can lose the desire to eat, and get weak from it. Please take care.
Wow, that's quick for shipping - Buffalo NY to CA? Great. No border crossing - that would be why, of course, but still.......... all the way across the country, E to W
I've eaten Susan, just not the greatest of meals, waiting till around 1 so it will be late lunch/early supper.
yeah, I know what that's like too, Betty - not eating properly. Glad you were having something. Better than nothing, right?
I still don't remember seeing what happened about that "slight concussion / bleeding on the brain" issue - was it resolved?
Dull gray day here. Rain is in the forecast.
I ventured over to Sydenham to the Farm and Pet Supply store. I try to give them as much business as possible plus they will order things in by the case for me at a great price. They can't get the TH's kibble but I have been buying a special kibble that is Canadian made there. I mix it up with their regular kibble. Glad I didn't have to go any farther. My head and eyes are just throbbing.
The lane is either mud or glare ice just like your walkway Betty. Its a double edged sword having these warmer temps - lots of mud plus the melting during the day freezes up overnight. I try to keep the TH playing or walking on the snow covered areas. Still have lots of snow here. Don't be fooled winter has just taken some time off. I have both hot and cold water taps outside so I can hose the TH down or give them a bath if necessary. But then they have to stay downstairs on the heated tile floor for awhile.
Oh Susan you might hurt a bit after physio but it is so worth it. You are doing great - excellent attitude which has a large part in your recovery.
Does anyone have our Mary's snail mail addy ? I can't find it in the address exchange.
LK how are you feeling now ?
So happy the health angels are taking care of you Barb. Oh Norm will be well taken care of I am sure. At least Norm now knows what's going on. Both Warren and I took/take low dose aspirin daily. How much more to be done on Norm's cat ? What a lovely gesture to knit the 2 wee ones a sweater. Years and years ago someone I taught with rented 1 of my DB's condo in Hawaii. Laura my niece was about 3 then and my friends so loved having her around. So 1 of them knitted her a beautiful sweater. She just sent me a pic of Jameson her son in that sweater. Her mom had kept the sweater and gave it to Laura when she married.
Need to lay my pounding head and eyes down for a bit. Never heard of the pill you were talking about Betty. Glad to hear it works for you.
Dianne and her TH
Will send you some Dianne, won't get there as fast as the box for Liz but that is ok...Hope with laying down headache subsides...think we will have at least another week like this, mid to high 40's..less wood you have to bring in. Will look for Mary's addy
Barb meant to add, how great for you to have had the results you got, goes to show when we listen we do help ourselves heal.
Susan, the blood bleeds did stop so no operation was needed but doc said it will take a tad to heal and he isn't wrong about that.
Squirrels coming out to eat..first time Ziggy has seen one, got quite excited and an opps
oh oh....... Ziggy! Lots of "firsts" for him, an excitable kitty lol
As long as you give yourself time to heal, Betty, I'm sure you'll be fine
I'm going to go lay down for a nap. Slept well last night, but still have naps....... This is new for me.
Naps are good, mejust had one, missed my 1pmlunch lol
Sure hope you both get rid of your headaches soon.
Dianne, I am doing much better. Thanks. When I get those flare ups, I have an antibiotic called flagyl, and that helps in just a few days. But the bad side affect is it gives you a metallic taste in your mouth. YUCK! That too will go away in a day or so.
Poor Ziggy, he seems to get into mischief no matter what he's doing. Speaking of Ziggy, a bit of kitty litter will make that ice a bit safer to walk on.
Our Siamese Sam used to sit in the window watching birds. He made a tut-tut-tut noise and spit on the window. Only did it when there were birds. Strangest thing.
"what's a bird" indeed - he'll be curious about Everything!
Physio was good - time looks like it will change each one, but will continue to be on Wed. When we arrived, we realized that one of our neighbours is a PT there. As our current one will be going on Mat leave, we'll likely get Jo-Ann, because there only are 3 in that hospital. 50/50 chance, eh? And, as we know her, they may try to arrange the appointments with someone I feel comfortable with?!?!?!
Went for dinner in town - great restaurant. It's def somewhere we will return.
Our PT changed the way she wants me to do my exercises - More repetitions, and hold for less time rather than the way I was first told which was opposite. She also told me how to do them properly, and how I should feel as I'm doing them. That's something that the book didn't mention, so it's valuable info.
Morning everyone.
The TH and I are up and have been for awhile. The wild turkeys paraded through earlier than usual. The boys have a chewie for awhile. The squirrels here would drive little Ziggy around the bend. Poor little fella would be exhausted by noon.
See my the NP at my doc's office today - took 6 weeks to see her even longer to see the doc.No matter what this little community does to try and attract a doc none of the young ones are interested. They have offered a very generous signing bonus plus free use of the village owned medical clinic. All the young ones want to stay in big cities and also want to specialize not be a GP.
Need to get my Recycle up the lane to the township road for pick up. I haven't taken it up for a few months so have several bins. In the winter sometimes it is just not worth the risk of battling the lane. Plus add on I get a tad lazy about venturing out that early in the winter.
Hope everyone is well. I still have a headache but not as bad so far as yesterday. How about you Betty and Debbie ?
Just to show you what it is like to live in a rural area I had a telephone message yesterday telling me I was given the wrong extra battery I bought for the chain saw. For the second time. Plus they overcharged me by $85. They will come down the lane to right everything this afternoon so I don't have travel up to them.
Make your day what you want it to be ladies and don't forget to find something to smile/laugh about something.
Dianne and her TH
Be careful driving on your roads Dianne.
We hit 99 degrees yesterday, and today is supposed to be another record day for heat. Todays record is 93, we are supposed to reach that and then some.
Morning,
Everything is melting, with the rain everything is so muddy, still better than a blizzard right?
Squirrels are back Dianne driving Ziggy crazy..getting to learn all about outdoor creatures..crying like crazy. Lol.
Great that the store is refunding you the overpayment, they depend on rural shoppers so must safeguard their reputations.
Here is hoping your doctor's appointment goes well..yep, still have the headache, noticed the spout almost to top of barometer unit..always a headache when that happens
Lindakay, that is early in the season for you getting such temps..what normally is it? Too hot to be outside...
Normal temps are about 65-70.
It's been melty drippy weather here too. I think it is scheduled to come to an end this week-end. Back to normal heavy sigh.
June dropped in, said the pathway to the basement door was still quite icy, imagine by tonight all will be melted. What a mess it will make of the drive when it comes time for Andrew to plow but Karen, every day we are without snowfall it brings us closer to spring.
Wow, much above the normal temps for sure Lindakay.
Worked a pit on the O Canada pillow, about the size of a body pillow, think it's either nap time or lunch time... Still have chicken Alfredo from Sunday..Lordy that container was 3 meals for me..works out cheap..think I might go see if the have cabbage rolls for tonight..have to ask them if they do stuffed peppers
Raining at your place Betty ? Big rain storm coming in the morning. Perhaps even some T and L. Hope you didn't put your shovel away Betty. Susan are you expecting snow - or maybe you are getting it now ?
I chuckled when I read over on Coffee the weather is Spring like but it doesn't smell like Spring. Exactly what I was thinking this morning. I thought I did a great job cleaning up after the TH this winter but as the snow melts I see it wasn't as good as I thought. Maybe the rain will hold off early in the morning and I can make a pass at some of the areas where the ice is gone. Lots of Canada Geese honking away. Sure hope the peepers don't wake up.
Oh my Betty Chicken Alfredo sounds good. Heck of a lot better than a bologna sandwich.
Another hot day for you LK? Your city was mentioned on the news last night - 99* is hot !!
Sure hope Sharon's sleep angels find me tonight.
Dianne and her TH
Debbie has asked me to post her MIL needs our prayers and positive thoughts. She has coded 5 times in the ambulance, 3 more times once she got into the hospital. They are moving her to ICU.
Dianne
94 here today!
Sending prayer for Debbie and her family.
Prayers for Debbie's MIL, am sure the family is overwhelmed..hugs Debbie
Shovel that was sticking in a 3' snow bank had to be set against the house Dianne as I know it still has mega shovelling to do this month..don't you hate looking outside at this time of year, everything looks so dirty.
How did you make out at the doctor today?
Sharon must be keeping the sleep angels my her side and not sharring, sleep evades me as well.
Prayers for Debbie's MIL - scary.....
Ladies - Hope all those headaches get settled soon, and you get some quality sleep. Hard to function with bad headaches.
Pat - you're getting Home Care for Ben, aren't you?
Saw the Senior's Outreach rep - Elizabeth - and she helped us with our forms that were returned. Our SHARP (Senior's Home Adaptation and Restoration Program) receipts were not photocopied properly - Maria had the till receipt covering the goods receipt and SHARP needed to see the goods purchased.
Also, my GIS (Guaranteed Income Supplement) was missing some docs, and I've been told once it's in they will take 2 weeks to process & should get funds shortly after that. Elizabeth is supposed to express post it so it goes through quickly. Now they want original paperwork. For Bob they accepted the copies. Oh well, it's going to happen, and that's what matters. Bob's monthly payment came into our bank this month, and will come in every month from now on. It'll sure help.
Sending my prayers Deb. And also for Paul. This must be very scary for him Holding you both close.....
Barb is Norm getting nervous about Monday or is it still too far away for him ? Sending lots of positive thoughts and prayers for you both.
Morning all
Was hoping there would be news re Debbie's MIL....Prayers and hugs coming your way.
Pat, may Ben's transition home today be without mishap and that he senses all the hard work you've done.great that he comes home on a Friday so that you've a weekend to both adjust.
Susan, hoops, hoops amd more hoops..lmaybe this is the last.
Hope those of you who have headaches aren't fighting them today..I am grrr
Ziggy is so wound up this morning, I'm soon to say good buy to a floral I have near the chesterfield, think flowers looked lik balls to him..big sigh
Pouring rain, everything looks so dirty out there..ick
Have the front door open, lets so much more light in, if Greg was here he would tell me I'm paying hydro for nothing.
Noah's 19th birthday today, must call him before the day escapes and I forget.
Thought I might get those Christmas gifts sitting downstairs delivered to Robert/Lorraine, my uncle Allen and also Uncle Louis/Aunt Exilda's..wanted to do it week before Christmas, was too stormy, then after Christmas and health issues prevented me from doing it so might be a great way to fill in afternoon and could pick up Chinese for supper..I'm getting Sooo lazy. Lol
LOL Betty I am mailing out some Christmas parcels today too.
Happy birthday to Noah! Amazing how fast they grow.
Wow 19 ! How is Noah doing ? Is he going to school ? Is Kyle still selling cars in TO?
Rain has started. Didn't need to look outside my joints told me. Maybe with this thaw we won't flood as badly in a couple of spots on the lane come Spring.
LK do you have central air or just room acs ? Last summer during 1 of those hot spells a friend was here overnight. She had laughed at me for having central air until she realized how nice it felt all through the house. Guess what she is having put in this Spring?
Betty to a kitty, everything has toy potential.
Dianne we could say we are ahead od the game for Xmas 2017 vs behind for Christmas 2016. Lol. Bones are pain'ing here as well, cold damp weather does us in..
Noah has been working full time since April, seems to like it and yes Kyle selling cars, bit on quiet side right now he says so had been doing trail grooming for Georgian bay snow riders and now this mild weather.
Was going to town but waiting to hear Noah's plans for tonight, if he goes out with friends ok if with family I'll go with them so won't do my Christmas run, keep that for tomorrow morning.
When is a kitty not a kitty but a cat. Lol
Rita called, talked about going away one long weekend, decided not Easter so may 24 weekend. Has to be within easy driving, hmm maybe Pennsylvania?
Called Rogers re phone internet and tv..got them down to $159, lowest they would go

Dianne, they guy that built this tiny home, built it with concrete blocks, so no insulation, and no central heat or AC! But the small heaters do just fine, as we don't get that cold here. We have window AC units for the summer.
Know my basement is cool during the summer months, guess cement stays cool.
Imagine, mnot having a furnace in your home.is your lot tree'd which also keeps it cool?
Thunder and lightning going on here big time, boom bang, this in February when it's usually blizzard time.
Spoke to mom, she said Toronto broke a record re high temps yesterday.
Wonder how Debbie's MIL is doing.

I have never lived without a basement until we lived in that apartment in Manchester. We were on the lowest level and half the apartment was underground. No basement there!!!! We have a basement here but don't use it at all as it is an old dirt one. This house was built in 1900 and the basement was never finished off.
Norm is getting a bit nervous regarding Monday. Actually I think he is more anxious rather than nervous. It is hard when you are told something is wrong but nothing about what to do about it or when.... We shall see then.....
Helloo...
I am home for the night, or at least til the phone rings. Several long days and I have had 2 hours sleep in 48 hours...as has most of the family. Right now I am on overdrive.
Got a call Thursday night from DH's best friend...who lives next to In Laws. ER crew over at the house. Drew went to investigate....and called and said get to the hospital immediately...Mom is in respiratory distress. Remember she had the blood clots in lungs less than 2 weeks ago? She had been getting up to fix DFIL dinner...something simple but just slumped over. DFIL could not get response from her and immediately call 911. They were there within 10 minutes....but DFIL was helpless to move MIL due to both their sizes and disabilities.
NY State Police arrived first.....picked MIL up and put her on her back on floor, immediately started CPR....and Sheriff came and joined in doing Defib paddles and CPR. Then the FIre rescue and Ambulance.
After 2 days of testing and trying to figure out what happened...it appears it was all in her heart. NOT the blood clot to lung. Her heart is still not strong or functioning..is at only 20%. EEG shows brain function but this could be from certain meds....CT was done tonight and we await those results.
She is on a Ventilator. She is NOT sedated but not responding at all to commands to blink or squeeze hand, etc. Time will tell right now.
DH is with DFIL at their home. I came home here as our furbabies have been alone 2 days....and Sam needed out of his crate. Been coming home (40 minute drive) letting out...and turning around and going right back to hospital.
All of DHs siblings have arrived. Tensions are very high. You all know my "relationship" with his family is strained. I thought best to exit for the night.
Thank you for the thoughts and prayers..Hugs to all
Debbie
Thanks for the update Debbie. Keeping all of you in our prayers.
Hang in there Deb. My prayers are with you both and with your DMIL. You did the right thing in coming home for them and yourself. You don't need the drama and they don't either. Paul knows what you do to support him and that is all that matters. Take good care of the fur babies and draw comfort from them. They give it willingly.....
