Last day of work for me for the year. That'll give me a couple days to try and wrap up Christmas shopping. At least the temps are on the rise here. I didn't get out as much as I planned over the weekend. Hard to leave the warm house when wind chills are in the minus teens and minus twenties!

Santa Warren should have brought bubble wrap for some of us. I slipped on the ice yesterday getting wood from the big pile. It is very icy here. If it warms up during the day it turns to ice overnight.

Pat and Betty hope your owies are not giving you a lot of pain today. Its the day after the fall that I always feel it the most.

Looks like snow, feels like snow, WLs say snow ..... now watch it not snow at all. I left Kingston yesterday morning and was home before 9 am... after I left Ktown had a blizzard.When I went back in for 6 pm no snow at all.

Deb do you work right up to Dec 23 ? Our schools are even keeping the kids in right up to and including Dec 23. I imagine all those little ones will be bouncing off the walls by then.

Two left to get their Santa Warren parcel ..... I know 1 of them is supposed to get their's today. Canada Post is really working overtime. I sent a parcel to Nova Scotia and it was supposed to be there on last Friday. It was delivered on Sunday. When I went out yesterday I checked the mailbox and sure enough I had notices that there were parcels for me at the PO. Amazon is doing an excellent job getting orders out. I ordered some new books ( not that I don't already have enough) just so I could have lots of different books to read.I am hoping I can catch up on some sleep over Christmas holidays. lol

My company is closed the 23rd and 26th, and the 29th and 2nd, but I'm taking two vacation days before, and 3 vacation days between, so after today, I don't return to work until Jan 3rd. I know the time is just going to fly by.

All is well here .. DGD is still creating havoc and sad days .. but, we just need to leave her make her own path, she'll learn, but, unfortunately, the hard way.

DH has his right carpal tunnel surgery .. went well, but, he is stil dealing with arthritis.

Lorna is doing well .. taking a course online (web design) .. bought a brand new truck too ...

I is here Dianne, guess everyone is busy either shopping, cooking or resting up for the big day..
Hope if you do get snow Dianne it won't be in large amounts and move on so you have great weather for Christmas Day..will you get to have dinner with your friend that just lost her hubby?

Was cool and overcast today,mid you can call 63 cold, but for here in dropped 25 degrees since last night.

Out shopping most of the day, and spent some time at the shop getting a wiper arm on my car replaced. Up around freezing all day, roads are sloppy and wet. Was planning on going out again but, now that I'm home, not so sure.

I am here. Just slowly cleaning house for this weekend.

I hope all of you ladies that fell are feeling better.

Here also, sitting and fretting because quilts were mailed to me on Fri. with two day delivery and still not here. I need to trim and put binding on one for next Tues. Presenting to WWII veteran.
It won't take me that long, I just feel better if things get done and just sit a few days.

OMG, things go at lightening speed around here! I have to finish up my crafts and still have to finish up shopping. I know know what to get, and DH and I are not exchanging, lol I'll add to what the kids are getting him.
So we got a Christmas tree, Steve and i talked and decided nothing needs to be outrageous, lets just go simple. DH buys a 6 ft tree; DS comes home late at night and roared with laughter at our shrub! We now have a fabulous floor to ceiling tree.
He even set it up in the stand. I watered it and it leaked all over, sigh. Today it has been transferred to an old stand and he and friends put all the lights on. Woohoo means more boxes get put away!! This place is a disaster.

I have enjoyed everyones pictures...
Betty, I forgot to say how adorable Ziggy is...I love that of him in front of the Christmas Tree. Oh gosh so sorry you took a fall, take easy for a bit.

Yes Betty this time of year does me in....just not good for me at all.
Did all my shopping and prep this week...in 3 days. Finished up today just need to get the "Trimmings" to go with the turkey.

DH got his cast removed. Hand looks NASTY. about 5 inch scar down thumb to base of hand...the meaty part. OUCH. All black and blue and swollen. Has a removable splint now so he can at least shower and wash decent without the bag on his hand/arm.

Tomorrow (Thursday) we leave very early for Ohio....have my Cleveland Clinic appointment and MRI. I so hope I can walk when I get off that table. My hips and lower back do not feel like they are connected any more.

My fitness program told me I walked OVER 6000 steps at the mall yesterday!!!
DH had his Christmas party at work...I was up at 6:00, made two pans of Ziti.....and a lava cake.....and took it to his work. He got to visit after his Doctor appointment.....and I did all my shopping. Sure was on jello legs by time I finished
in under 3 hours. Most everyone done....and finished DH today.

Miss you all....stay well...do NOT fall....DO NOT get hurt....behave ya'll.....and no illnesses!!! I hate leaving you unsupervised!!!

Guess Betty is staying busy in Florida.

It is supposed to warm up to 70 this afternoon. Not bad for the end of December. Wish I could send some of this warm weather north.

I'd gladly welcome some of your warm weather LK. It is milder here this morning so hopefully I can get all the ice off of the front steps. I need to put some more dog friendly salt on them first.

The new people on the lane are very noisy. I knew they were here before I even walked down the lane last night. Duke goes bananas at the noise. We have really been spoiled with the quietness ....... the couple who lived there before were very quiet too. I can't even see the house but the voices and music really carry. I'm sure once the 'newness' of living down here wears off they will quiet down. They only live here weekends and holidays but plan to retire here.

Noisy neighbors are not fun. We have called the police several times, as the neighbors like their tejano music loud and it goes on till 3 in the morning on a Sunday night.

Santa Warren is smiling knowing how much we have all enjoyed getting our parcels. Debbie your intuition was right on. She guessed Judy that her parcel was coming from the Chicago area.

Temp is going down plus it is very damp here. There will be lots of ice in the morning with all the melting going on today. Glad I don't have to go out. I think the Escape will be though - Steve is going to put in 2 new rear bearings. The Escape is an 02 and has never had them changed before.

Friends here for a drink .... I need to get the TH corralled.

Admitted Ben to hospital on Tuesday, he had brain surgery yesterday. I am home for a quick shower and nap, his daughter Rebecca is with him.

Ben fell on Tuesday, my son Kevin came home from work & found him. Called 911 and they finally talked him into going to hospital. Hospital CAT scan showed a "bleed" and they transferred him to different hospital with neurosurgery & available ICU bed.

The neurosurgeon is pleased with the surgery, left a clot behind the right eye due to it's location and the risks of removal. They found lots of "old blood" from previous bleed. He is very slow to respond to the neuro=testing but hopefully will improve as he wakes up more etc. the follow up CAT shows no more active bleeding, only the expected amount of post swelling. This morning his temp was 101 but later 100.3 so I am hopeful.

it could be a few days before I get back to post. It is way too difficult to get the "dumb operator" (me) to work the "smart phone". I have a terrible time with this website with my phone.

Pat - sorry to hear about Ben being in the hospital. It's "almost" a good thing that he fell and even better that Kevin found him as quickly as he did!!

It's been an interesting few days - Tues I found out an internet friend of 3 1/2 years passed away - he was only 29 and left a young daughter behind. As her mother passed away a few years ago, she is now parent-less. She has aunts & uncles & grandparents, but it's not the same, is it?

Today I got some news about a friend of mine (Margaret - I'm sure I've mentioned her before, from our 1st church in Calgary). She had a kidney replaced years ago, has diabetes and neuropathy. She stubbed her toe and it got infected. They had to take the flesh off her toe up to but not including the bone. She has inflamed lungs, and I just found out she had a heart attack tonight. Her sister, and her daughter have been advised that if they want to see their sister / mom, to hurry from Iowa asap. Please pray for Margaret.

Pat, do hope Ben had a good night and Some improvement is seen..know you want to spend all your time with him but make sure you look after you, rest and make sure you eat

Guess we all need to be a bit more aware of falls this year. I have read of so many. I know we are trying to be careful but sometimes they just happen and so suddenly.
I will keep all of you in my prayers....
Brandon is coming to visit this morning. I can't wait to see him. He is home now for Christmas break but won't be staying as long as last year. He has a job in Ohio now and will be going back for that. Sure hate to think he will be staying there. I know we have to let them go when it is their time but sometimes it is harder than others....

Got the word last night that my son-in-law's grandmother died. She was 90, sharp as a tack and active, living in her own home. The kind of 90, I hope to reach. She had a stroke Weds. She went quickly, which was a blessing. It's always hard, but right before Christmas makes it a little harder.

Out this morning to try to finish up the shopping! Had a bit of snow overnight, but they're now predicting 49F on Christmas day.

I am so sorry to hear of the injuries and illnesses everyone is dealing with. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I am sitting here in tears! HAPPY Tears! My Santa Warren gift arrived and I am just soooo happy and amazed at what Judy did! She "captured" my love of things so perfect!!!!

Judy made a bird feeder.....to look like a camera. Complete with canisters with bird seed!!! AND a suet cake for inside. The work that went into this I can tell many hours!!! I don't know HOW you did it!!! DH is even sitting here and shaking his head.. I just can't stop looking and finding new little WOW she got the "ready" light on the camera....the flash....everything! The lens unscrews!!!

Also, a memory card to hold my photos...which I needed as I am always running out without. A Boogie board for notes and lists to keep with me.....and a coloring book and markers that I just LOVE! I had one...took it to the hospital and appointments with me...but must have left it somewhere. This is just perfect all the way around.

Thank you Judy...with all my heart! I will post pictures separate as they are on phone and I lost post 2 times trying to do there.
