Sorry to hear about the death in your family. Sending prayers.

Debra, that bird house is awesome. Judy sure is talented.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Ahhh Debbie, you got to know Judy put a lot of thought into your birdhouse
Can see you smiling from ear to ear...

Deb, difficult always but even more so when it's this time of year..

Just finishing a project for John's car, Darlene's sewing machine sure got a workout..10 neck coolants, 4 sets wine glass holders, e sets of 4 Xmas placemats. Lol

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Debbie - that is a truly awesome feeder! What a gift - you gotta know that a lot of time, effort & love went into it L-)

Thank you for your thoughts & prayers for Margaret - she's a survivor, but no news yet.

Lyndonville, NY

Yes. I definitely know the time, thought and love that went into that. It's just beautiful.

Glenview, IL

Well I am just a smiling up a storm! So glad you like the bird house/feeder.
lol, It was made to be a birdhouse but you sure can use it a feeder as well.

Debbie, Merry Christmas and Thank you,
I learned so, so much creating this, of course built it as I went...haha the lens was actually inspired by the round firewood limbs, Cause I am a big daydreamer. I'd be staring at the wood pile and go wow that could make a really cool zoom lens, yadayaya, lol...in the end that is made of pvc piping. The rest is a menagerie of pieces to reflect the history of photography. I hope you capture many happy feathered family to smile at. Just so much fun to make. Oh if you look through the eye piece you could see straight through, the holes also meant for air holes to the house. lol, that flash was created for first time flashes...it was going to be a cube but that almost sent me to the looney bin, then the view window was for todays cameras and so you can smile at the captured tenants, and roflol, you would have been rolling at my trying to get that hinge flush, Note to self do that first!!
Anyway I am delight to tears you like it...P.S. don't keep your actual camera next to it--haha, can't tell you how many time I reached for my camera and grabbed the house!! Yep have fun...oh and in the Jumanjii container are Daisy Seeds from my gardens, they are pretty old so I thought an additional smile in summer- I hope they grow! With Love and Armwraps Judy

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Judy you are amazing!!!! You outdid yourself with my scissors and JOY. Look how far you have come since then!!!! I'm really proud of you girl!!!! And the love and thought that you put into your gifts makes them so very special. Great job!!

Lyndonville, NY

I thought birdhouse first but with treat cake inside was not sure. I am already looking for spring to put it out.
Thank you again.....and since DH worked for Kodak....the old history of camera is perfect.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Margaret's doing better - this, from her daughter
"I just talked to the nurse. Margaret is still sick but stable. They've taken her off the blood pressure meds and she's no longer sedated. She's awake and obeying commands but they still have her on the ventilator for right now. They may try to take her off it tomorrow. She's on dialysis and doing well with it.
So all around, seems like an improvement. I told Beth all this during her layover in Dallas. Tomorrow I drive to Montreal to catch a plane to Calgary - I only have a passport card, so I can only drive (or boat, swim, or walk) over the border. Yes, I'm kicking myself in hindsight.
Love to you all,
Sandy"

Hooray, She's stabalized! Hopefully this time next year we will be planning Christmas dinner with her as one of our guests :-)

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Ben made tremendous progress today. He started talking, stood with walker during PT, is gaining strength in left side and greater control. He has LONG ways to go but today was truly a miracle. Passed the swallow test so is finally able to drink and begin to eat soft food.

Thanks to all of you for prayers and well wishes.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Great news Susan..

Oh Pat, Tis the season for miracles, so glad there was one for Ben
Imagine he will be hospitalized for the Christmas holidays, besides rest what are your plans?

It's a "I can't sleep type of night', suppose to be like that tonight while I wait for Santa to arrive

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

God is Good, Pat - SO happy to know you've gotten this blessed early Christmas present!

I'm not able to sleep either, Betty

It was a long day - left here at 12:30 to drive to Red Deer, with Bob, and it was a terrible snow storm. Several cars either spun out and got damaged, or hit another car and got damaged. One looked serious, as there was an emergency vehicle streaming down the highway, and some of the car's parts were 100 yards away......
On the way it was dark and the storm was worse. Going down the last 15 min of the highway that goes past our place, it took 1/2 hour and we don't have street lights (going straight into the wind) with 2 major valleys to go through. Bob was nervous, but I have great faith in his abilities.
We had to go to Red Deer, to put in our Financial applications today. They're closed until Jan 3rd now, and we'd just gotten most of the forms filled out by our Senior's Outreach worker (Elizabeth - and what a gem she is, too!)
Apparently we are going to get a continuing good amount, and some back pay for each of us. Not sure how long it will take, but it will be good, the worker (Maria) said. Depending on the agencies, it could take awhile to get it put through to where we start getting funds. Some are on-going, some are "catch up" and some are one-time pay outs. One, I will have to wait for until I'm 65 - 2 1/4 years from now.
Felt good to get it done.
Sure didn't feel good going through the storm in the dark, but so happy to get home safe & sound.

Victoria Harbour, ON

One more sleep everyone and Santa arrives, aren't you excited, perhaps not but we can pretend to be and have hopes that next year will be better...

If any of you are on the roads today be safe, everyone's minds will be on other things vs road safety.

Susan, here is hoping funds arrive in a timely manner, just too bad you had to travel in such a storm.

Must check weather at home

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I say that if we have a roof over our heads, food on the table, and warm clothing to wear, we're blessed, and if we have someone who loves us, we have gold in our lives.

I love each and every one of you - Bless you for being in my life :-)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good morning everyone.

So glad to hear the good report on everyone.

Glad you made it safe through that storm Susan.

Dianne, Betty, and Pat how are you doing after your falls?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Very faint fuzzy feeling when I'm about a lot..going to live though! Good news for some and bad for others 😝

Verona, ON

Yesterday's weather was stellar. Today's not so much. Looks like either rain or snow. I am hoping for snow. If it is rain the lane will be icy. Betty you are not missing a thing weather wise.

Safe travels to all those out on the roads.

Susan I am sure you and Bob feel quite relieved to have all the papers filed and are back home safe and sound.

Thanks to everyone who were involved in the Santa Warren exchange. All you the parcels were terrific.

Will check back in later. I want to try making LK's Bailey's Fudge. Wish me luck.
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well Deb, through process of elimination you must have had my name..going to have Kyle to topmost office Tuesday as they keep unclaimed boxes for 14 days..excited as can be, as all boxes were so nice. Did you take photo Deb??

Well, Darlene and John think I should go to check out that jade 35 machine, see what it embroiders and what I can download from Internet to embroider then make my decision..

My janome embroiders but it was one of the first machines, need discs and theynolongermake them, don't know if I'd use it, trying to convince myself I wouldn't, we will see

Doesn't hurt to look now does it..

No, Betty, I didn't take a picture. I do hope it shows up soon. I feel so bad that it didn't arrive, yet.

Deb

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Lots and Lots of snow here lol - but the sky shows light :-)

Now, Betty, you know who your secret Santa is! I'll bet you can't wait to open your pressie :-) Like us, your Post Office is closed over the holidays, eh? Ours won't open until the New Year. I guess our one & only Postmaster wants some time with her family - I love rural living :-D People here care about the family - it's the true meaning of the season!!
A new embroidery machine - how nice! Hope it works out well for you.
I hope that fuzzy feeling isn't due to your fall Betty and you're better soon

Dianne - good luck on the Bailey's fudge.

Bob's out blowing the snow away with our snow broom, but we won't be going anywhere - roads are wicked, I heard, so staying home today. Not sure about tonight when we're supposed to be singing a trio - Bob, Michelle & I. I'd hat to leave Michelle singing alone. Besides, it's our only change to sing in a choir as our church doesn't have one except for special occasions. No service tomorrow, but we're going to Pat & Glenn's and Pat's sister & BIL are going to be there, too

Victoria Harbour, ON

Not to worry Den because I've got something to look forward to..

Creative our Judy is isn't she Liz

Did you hear Santa confirm that I was a good girl this year?? Heard his bells a ringing and voila...a pressie for Betty..put $$ from boys to good use as well as a few other $$$ pressies

Nice machine Betty.

Dianne, that fudge is so easy to make. Let us know how it came out.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

very nice Betty - now you can play!! :-)

Verona, ON

Well I am sure you all heard me an hour or so ago..... lots of blue words. I made a beef and barley soup and it was pretty bland. I didn't have any garlic cloves so bought some when I was out. I put the crockpot in the Escape overnight. When I went to bring it back in the house 2 of the TH bumped into me knocking the pot out of my hands. The pot smashed into bits leaving the soup all over the floor. *Sigh* After that I didn't even attempt to try the fudge. Will do so later this week.

Has your DS and family arrived LK?.

Temp is dropping so the lane will be icy until the sun comes out tomorrow. Well at least I hope the sun will come out. I'll walk down to Frank's to check his baseboard heaters either tomorrow or the next day. I'll walk in the snow at the edges of the lane when I can.

Susan hoping your weather co-operates so you can go to your Christmas dinner tomorrow.

Karen are you there yet ? Hope the roads were clear for you.

Merry Christmas everyone !
Dianne and her TH

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry you dropped your soup. Sounds like you will be shopping for a new crock pot?

My kids will be here Monday, a day after Christmas.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Oh Lordy Dianne, just not the broken crock pot but the mess you had to clean,,,bet you wanted to sit and cry!

Hoping no freezing rain, could have some at home tomorrow, "M" how about your weather?

Hope Karen arrived at her family's without mishap

Can visualize many of you starting to get comfy for the evening, Christmas tunes or Christmas movies on...time to relax, you all deserve it

Hoping some who follow thread but don't participate, or old friends who have moved on have the best Christmas ever!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We are safely at daughters and had a lovely Christmas celebration, lots of good food as always. Had a grand time with youngest great, Clara. This is only the third time I've seen her and she's six months. In a little over a month, we'll have another great grand girl.
We'll stay for a while tomorrow and then head home so I can finish the Quilt of Valor for presentation on Tues. Expecting more snow so want to get home ahead of it.
Betty, a new embroidery machine, how exciting. I'd love one but know I wouldn't use it enough to justify the expense. It would be wonderful just to have though.

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas, sure wish I was in the warm, strolling on the beach.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Merry Christmas everyone.

Merry Christmas, my friends!!

Oh my...... Dianne - what a mess, and so much for all the work you did, making the soup. And to have to replace the crock pot......
I'll bet the TH were startled - serves them right! They learned some new words too, I'll bet lol

Karen - how lovely to know you're having another great grand daughter! I'll bet little Clara's a sweetie. Nice to hear you had a grand time for your Christmas celebration.

Major snow around here - haven't seen so much in a long time. We'll have a White Christmas, for sure.
We'll have no problem going for dinner, nothing to take, so it's just us walking a block to our neighbour's. Looking forward to it.

Pacifica, CA
