Barb I am so happy you like it amd know you and Norm can enjoy Timmies. Reminds me when we met up.
I can't sew well but knew you liked a few of my photographs on FB. You are entitled to free refills. Just say which ones you want for your frame....and I will happily send.
Betty it is 20 here with a feels like ....6. Enjoy that warmth. We may get to 40 tomorrow.
Dh had nerve study done yesterday. Medicine adjustments only. He sees hand doctor Tuesday.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends old/new
Debbie, I can't thank you enough for how thoughtful is your gift to me. I can't have a Timmies without thinking of all my friends in Canada and NY. I will never forget the hour we had together. I so wanted to stay longer but hurricane Irene was on it's way to our house and we just made it home in time to put a few things away before it hit.
I will be sure to "hit you up" for some refills on the photos. You are amazing with your camera. You just seem to catch the essence of whatever you are photographing. Your eye is exceptional. I feel so honored.....
Temp never made it to 15* here today. A tad chilly for sure. Norm had the day off for a doctor appointment so did not work out in it. We both were glad of that....
Almost done with my shopping and wrapping. Just a few more to wrap. And then I can just chill. One more week with PT and that will be over. It has really helped me with my standing. I need to work a lot more on my balance though. But I will get better with that also.
Holding you close in prayer tonight LK.
I have everything done & wrapped except for the Scramble. Bob is helping me make it tomorrow. I sure wish my sewing room was back together but resigned that it might not happen until after the holidays.
The quilt I made for a friend to honor her fire chief father arrived to her with near perfect timing. I knew a year was coming up but didn't know it is tomorrow. I was worried about ther liking it because I didn't really have much to work with but she was pleased. He founded and was chief of a TN volunteer fire dept. for over 20 years. The gold stripes & brass buttons were off his dress uniform.. I only had 10 shirts with small designs so wasn't a lot I could do.

Hey Betty - you're only 92 degrees F warmer than here!! (lol Thanks to Karen's DH for giving me that idea!!!)
We are so blessed with good people around here. Tomorrow we're supposed to have someone come to install ductwork in our den.
Today we went to pre-surgery class & our friends John & Ann gave us $40 towards taxi fare so we didn't have to pay downtown parking prices, then they gave us a Christmas card with $100 in it!
We haven't gotten word about financial help yet, so were running on financial fumes. Such wonderful friends we have!!!
That quilt is wonderful, Karen! I would never have thought of a quilt to honor a fire chief. You are so talented!
You have such wonderful friends there, Susan!
Still working on getting Christmas put together here. More snow (up to 12") and cold (high of 4F tomorrow) predicted for this weekend. I'm sure the stores will be packed, not looking forward to going out.
Morning all,
Slept off/on , you know what it is like when youn are overtired..John amd Darlene still sleeping or perhaps awake and not wanting to stir and wake me.
Barb, I remember you had to cut your vacation short due to Irene...don't ant to lose my post, I am going back to look at all your pretties..you've done well to get your Christmas gifts done
Omg Karen, that quilt is beyond wonderful..how could she not love it...is the inset a panel? If so where did you purchase it? I it's not you did appliqué beyond perfection.
You've just given me an idea, I should look for a transport fuel truck panel and do a prayer shawl for my cousin Doreen. Getting your sewing room back in order will give you something to look forward to for the new year.
Susan, what kindness, great friends for sure.
Debbie, sounds like doc is pleased with the surgery..can he drive now and do a little with his hand? When do you go to Cleveland for yourself?
Deb, are you expecting this amount of snow Christmas Eve/Christmas Day? Yikes have to get all done before the storm hits.
Don't envy Sharon heading home from Orlando today in this storm.,know one of her dogs did well, must contact her today.
Big stretch, might get up and have cereal then decide what I'll do today..likely find a car rental agency, would like to have my own,my hat way I can visit with Bernie who is about 45 minutes north of here and look for a few fabric shops
Caleb emailed me yesterday,my hey ran footloose back to back last night
Sent photo of the publicity poster..Lordy I'm proud of him..been approached by a university re their acting program for
Karen, I agree with the others, that came out so nice.
Sounds like you are all getting lots of snow up north. It is supposed to be 70 today, but tonight will drop to 35.
Karen the quilt is AMAZING! I am sure she expressed way more than "pleased" and you are being modest!
Betty, wonderful publicity poster and quite an honor to be approached by the university! . I hope he can get a scholarship out of it. My brother was approached several times about wrestling for the college he was attending but refused because of the time commitment. They wanted him but not even enough to pony up some scholarship money. He could not afford the time given that he was working part time to afford school and going to school full time.
May we ALL stay warm and be READY for Christmas! LOL (I'm plenty warm but not ready... but maybe with big effort I can get finished today)
Ready for Christmas? I haven't bought one thing....not even the food! Egaads.
Betty, he saw doctor for something else....not his hand. That is Tuesday. He has been driving short distances . They said he could drive when off the pain killers and he is off them.
I go to Cleveland on Thursday for my appointment. Of course snow is expected and driving along Lake Erie most of the trip...not thrilled.
We got more snow last night. I want to go to the cemetery and put Moms wreath. I added some more ornaments and a new ribbon so it is freshened up. All done in blue, white and silver with little snowmen, angels and heart ornaments and little bells that will ring in the wind. She loved "Whenever you hear a bell ring, an angel gets its wings" so I think is perfect to be there.
Wishing you all a good day.
Betty the panel came from a fabric store in Maryville, TN called Pappys. I do believe they have a web site. Very nice store to deal with. When I was a bit short on one fabric, DGD went in and got what I needed. they really discounted it.

Have to look it up Karen..so impressed!
94 here today, ended up at joanns and pottery barn, didn't take me long to spend $200 at Joanns..but I am thinking Christmas 2017 workshop, bought the greenery I need for the piece I'll be doing for workshop..greenery is small, elegant and glass on it..this week I will try to find 30 battery lights that has fine wire
Leon and Kathy, sue and Steve came over for visit, tired me out..might need a nap!
Hobby Lobby usually carries that greenery too.
I'm coughing my foot head off, nose running. Oh well, can't complain I've been very healthy this year. If I'm not better in a hurry I will be canceling my assessment on Tuesday. I don't want to expose an vulnerable elderly to my germs.
14 degrees here... and snow plows only doing main roads. Wonder how much more snow we'll get tonight.
Best you get some meds pat, you don't want to be ill for the holidays.the strands were reg $29.99 with 70% off, cutting it in sections so easier to pack for Darlene to bring it home in spring. Should be enough greenery for 25 or so projects
Again sleep evades me
Hi ladies - I'm tired and heading off to sleep.
Been a good day - ductwork has been partially done, and the guy is coming back in a couple of days to complete it (put some insulation around the ducting). He's only charging $200 and will pay his workers. He brought 2 with him today. He's going to wait for the payment from us.
We have the water guy coming on Monday to move the pipes to where they won't freeze.
My healthcare worker's brother has offered to help Bob doing labour work (he's not asking for any gas or work pay). He'll be able to help for a couple of days.
Good night, ladies - sleep well
Good news Susan, with all going on you should be able to sleep like a babe.
Lindakay, how are you doing?
Liz what are your Christmas plans?
Not sure what the plans are for today..think John is going Christmas shopping, maybe Darlene and I will just enjoy the day taking in some sun..
Spoke to Kyle last night, he said Ziggy is mischievous lol
He and Brianna have been out snowmobiling, good start to their season
What are you all up to?
Finishing up the last minute wrapping. Still have two gifts to find. Got all week.
Putting together a runner for Brandon's apartment. And maybe placemats......
Everything done now. Waiting on one package to arrive, but it's for Amelia and if late will be OK. Was a last minute wish of hers...Frog Boots. DGS and I made the Scramble yesterday. He does all the heavy work. In between we worked upstairs on getting it rearranged so I can set up my sewing room. Also needed to free up the beds all my sewing stuff was piled on. For New Years we will have company Any where from 2 to13 are coming. Hope the snow stops so we can get out next weekend and they can get in for New Years.
Morning everyone.
Betty, I am doing OK. All of us kids have told my Sister, that due to it being the holidays, bad weather, and last minute flights being so expensive, we will not be home on the 30th for Dads memorial. Since he is being cremated, and wishes to be buried next to Mom, we will all go home in the spring when the ground thaws out, and will place him to rest then.
Pretty sad they more than double flight cost at the holidays.
Susan, glad to hear you are getting help with your place.
29 degree's in Texas this morning.
Betty, enjoy your warm temps.
were going to my moms xmas eve
going to start lanterns today finally I hope your enjoying your warm weather
scored big time at a moving sale yesterday 3 grocery bags full of xmas and Halloween fabric 1 yard to 4 yards each paid 50.00 now my stash is quite full! lol
Holy wah Liz, that is a ago and buy, Anton why can't I find such deals?? You are still doing lots of sewing? So hope the lanterns come together without trouble, easier when Kenny is there to help out by holding side sections for the screw parts, was going to type 'screwing' but thought that wouldn't be proper. Lol
Lindakay, such a worry travelling at this time of year, spring is more practical..that being said I found it so difficult, with Roger dying New Year's Day the mourning process started, by May when he was interred it brought it all back, took a long time again to move forward.
Barb are there any gifts you could order online to save going out in this weather? Lucky Brandon, am sure he enjoys these home made treasures, know mine do.what are you thinking for Norm.
Karen, as a Xmas gift ou should ask the kids to set up your craft room, you can simply say, put here, put there etc ..just know you want it done and stressful you can't do it.
John wants to go shopping on his own today, Darlene told me likely it's to buy her a gift and she will be angry if he does as they talked about no gifts..she is not a Xmas person since Mike died, John is a Christmas person like me so tried to make her understand how he feels about getting her something.
Sat outside for 1/2 hr, started to feel like I was burning so I will stay in for a bit and sit out here and there.
Later we will go a few places shopping and also keep an eye on mini metal wired lights for 2017 workshop. Lol
We had some ice over night There are snowplows in the ditch next town over!!! The big ones. We have had rain mixed with snow and the temp is dropping into the 20s.
I want to start cleaning dining room today and also work on my lanterns. My depression is hitting me hard.....between stuck in the house, weather, DH watching same movies and depressing shows over and over and his OCD.....I am doomed.
I don't see him back to work for at least 2 weeks. Onward and upward as the say!
My "photo therapy" has been when I go to the store. Go to the flower department and take pics of the flowers blooming. Then I have something to edit and play with when I get home. That does help me relax.
Have a wonderful day everyone
Debbie
I need sewing room now to finish quilt for presentation right after Christmas. No one here to help DGS helps in fits and starts. I had to send him a message to get out and help with snow removal. He has child and pregnant wife so needs to do his part. Neighbor did come down to help too.
Road plow doesn't help. driver this year has a real attitude. Deal with county is they can turn around on our property but in turn need to keep us plowed out. If they don't turn here they have to back up nearly a mile. Works mostly unless we get a crabby driver like this one. We have several seniors on the street plus us and GD is very pregnant. Driver said if up to him he wouldn't do road at all. What he does now is his best to bury our cars with 4 feet of snow. Think hubby is going to county garage to talk with supervisor tomorrow. Know the plow drivers are working hard right now, but no reason to get so grouchy with us, it's his job after all.
OK lunch and griping done. going to start lanterns.
Sounds as though we are all keeping busy..I'm anxious to see your lanterns, that will give me a smile for sure..
Debbie, sending hugs, don't know how to help, wish I could..many have depression at this time of year..
Karen, surely the municipality can do something re the plowman..
John's out shopping,Marlene is cutting wood for a project and I'm making placemats..little too hot to spend much time outside
Talked to my brother Bernie..either he will visit me or I he in the next few days
Debbie, for better or for worse but NOT for LUNCH! LOL Few couples can handle 24 x 7 and when a man is home from work.... not good!
Betty, I understand what you are saying about the grief and then starting all over again. I believe it's best to have a service very soon, those that can attend, great. Those that can't attend can have a small memorial of there own locally. That promotes the healing much better.
THAT was a good deal on the greenery, and cutting it up will certainly help make transport easier.
If our neighbor didn't have a blade he can put on his truck, our road would not get plowed at all. Karen, sorry your driver is such a scrooge. If he doesn't like his job he should go find another one rather than being a pain to those he should be serving. maybe they can trade routes and you'll get a nicer man.
Susan, sure sounds like you have been blessed!
Liz, you made out like a bandit!
We had such a nice plow driver in previous years. Hubby would hear him coming and run him out a cup of coffee. Most have been very considerate, when my mom's health was poor they were very careful to not block my parents car. Sure is different these days. If they are not going to plow here they are not going to turn around here either, especially when he seems to try to pile it around our cars.
Morning all,
Snow still coming down?
Another beautiful day here, put a slow cooker roast on for supper, were to go to the each but Darlene spent last hour vomitting, head splitting, part of her health issues so she is back in bed, likely for the day..
Might get John to fpdrive me to the beach, it's only 5 minutes away and give him a time topics me up..get some ofthatgood old Florida sunshine..
Best have my coffee and do hair then decide what the day will bring
Probably the beach is a good idea Betty. If Darlene has a bug, better you keep your distance.
Very cold here about 8 degrees, windy but not a cloud in sight so pretty out there.
Ahhh and don't shake your finger, John is concerned about Darlene and rightly so, you know I'm stubborn, what is the next bad ord for stubborn??
Decided I'd pack a bag and go to beach, trail leads right to it, bag too big, was one street over and I fell, hit side of my face big time, bruised leg but head is achy, won't tell anyone unless side of my face turns color then of course they would notice..man came to help me, said I took one heck of a fall..here is hoping I'll just end up with a mild headache..yep my fault..sitting outside chatting with John, he would like to take me to the beach..if I see I'm ok I'll ask him to..all this could havebeenavoided had I not been stubborn....
Dear heaven Betty! Being stubborn is one thing but sometimes you go way beyond that. I know how independent you are but you just can't take these chances like this. Now I know I will worry until you are back home safe and sound. Please be a bit more careful Please.....
Was out in the sun a bit, came in, decided to tell John just incase I get dozy..was keeping glasses on, likely wouldn't have seen bruising with glasses on
Oh No! Betty, do we need to send the bubble wrap to you? Please be careful.
OUCH!
Pretty bad bruise you have there. So sorry I suggested your going to the beach. I seem to always hit my head when I take a tumble. That and my already aching knees.
Please be careful dear.
Must be the weekend to take spills! I face planted this weekend, was helping push my DIL's van out of the snow. When the van went, it WENT ! I did not get hurt, landed in the deep snow. Didn't even hurt my pride. Made snow angels with my butt rolling over to get up!
Oh my Pat, good thing you had the soft snow to land in.
Glad you are ok Pat.
Betty, how are you doing?
Oh Pat, luckily you weren't hurt..when do you get off for holidays?
Guess you are all abuzz with Christmas plans and shopping...did I tell you we are going to legion for Christmas dinner..I wanted to cook, all said 'no'
Head good this morning, just my regular aches and pain..going out for breakfast at 8:30 the hobby lobby then maybe few hours at beach
I'm so happy to read you are better. That is one good sized bruise. Enjoy the beach and all the warm!!!!!
