I will be there to go to Chinese with you tomorrow. I keep telling everyone
how good it was.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Are you feeling better Debbie and Shane?
You are more than welcome to join me now you know how to get here
Any news on tests?

Susan, big loss for Alberta, Jim prentice and others who lost their lives in plane crash today.

Lyndonville, NY

CT scan did not show any mass (Thank God) but several areas of "we need to investigate". Diverticulitis shown in colon, fatty liver enlargement and a "bone island" on my femur....that needs possible biopsy. The spinal cyst still shows but did not give measurements from my last MRI to this one (different docs) so will find that out.
20th I go to Immunologist again, and 25th to Dermatologist to get the spots on back check.

Shane is doing better

By the way....speaking of spots, did you call your doc?:

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

That is sad, and the fact that there of the 4 killed, 2 were from one family (extended family) - truly sad.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Debbie, know you feared a mass, glad it didn't show that..do you have to get insurance ok for these other Tests

Hang my head, no.didnt make,the appt..keep saying I will then don't..turning color.so not sure if that is,a,good,or bad,sign.

Tragic for sure Susan

Thanks for input dabble, I will start a new thread in morning and put the Santa Warren Christmas gift exchange on with Oct 31st deadline for registration then Dianne can have the Thundering Herd pick names..can't wait

Lyndonville, NY

I don't know what the doctor will do or order yet But with the blood disorder and the other flagged blood work, its hard to tell. If a scan I am sure they will need the approval.

If it is turning color....yes you need the appointment. Are you sure didn't burn yourself with a curling iron? Get it checked! I got a doozie of a burn fixing dinner tonight. Will heal in a few day.

Didn't hear about the accident.....so sad!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Whats going on Betty, what spot?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all
Calling for a sunshine day. High of 64 with a feels like 68
Lordy the leaves on the trees at my front window are decorating the lawn, soon I'll see all the way up the street.

Debbie what a hassle having to get approval for everything that needs to be checked..spot not a burn, have a call to my doctor on 'to do' list for next week

Getting ready to head into town shortly, need to be a Taylor tires for 8:30 for snow tires, hoping I won't need them for awhile but want to be ready for when it snows.

Rest of the weekend free other than groceries three sets of cushions for patio sets need to find a home in the house, shhhh usually I slide them under the beds lol

Did finish the snowman quilt yesterday..need another tote for finished projects..think I've 3 filled to the brim already..stock stock stock😉

Whoa, wasn't that a party!!
A beautiful wedding, very high energy.
Beautiful bride, who was SO happy, and a handsome groom just happy to gaze at his new wife..
Lornas dad had a very difficult time as I mentioned the venue was not very handicap accessible ... Btw .. Lorna did get the only handicap spot .. The others in need were dropped off at the venu and then trekked to wherever. Lorna's dad made the ceremony, but not the reception . Poor guy was exhausted. He's not looking well at all ..
Got back to the hotel late, feet are killing me.

On the go today

So happy to read the wedding went off great. Really sorry about Lorna's Dad though. Get some rest before you start the drive back.
Looking forward to the project for this year Betty.

Lyndonville, NY

I think you will like the project for this year. It really is pretty!

Betty this new insurance company is really a pain in the A&& and thats being polite.
If we need more than 2 refills on meds, we MUST order it on line from their script
company for 90 day supply. Which requires additional cost of shipping sometimes.
And also the required pre authorizations. The doctors themselves hate this company as it requires so much more work on their office staff.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I like our pharmacy - it's just across the floor from our Dr's reception. They will deliver, free, anywhere in Calgary. And our Dr is awesome, so there's no way I would give up on either of them.

Lyndonville, NY

We didn't have a choice to "give up on" the insurance. They sold the company and the new human resources department told us what would be. And if we get just a single script....like an antibiotic we go to the pharmacy. But if it is something you will need to take daily....for life or months...then it has to be done thru the mail.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

That sounds wrong, but obviously there's not going to be anything you can do about it as it's the way the company has decided it will be.
The only other thing you can do is let them know how you feel, in an email or letter, and have others you know in the same situation do the same.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

My insurance is the same way. We have to do our new by mail order. But a 90 day supply is a lot cheaper than one month, so we save money.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning,
Calling for rain today, don't need weatherman to tell me as my hip and legs are pain'ing like crazy ....just took a Tylenol 3 so that will mask the pain and let egret on with my day.

So glad we don't have to get approval for doctor visits, hospital or prescriptions, bad enough being sick without having to fight for help.

"m" have you decided when you will leave for home?? So want to meet up with you..which route do you take, going Orillia way or taking 400/69 way up past parry sound..if it's the latter then you aren't more than 5 minutes away from me..waiting anxiously, so want to meet up

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, I just read on Facebook she is in Orangeville at the best western.

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is where my sister lives..ill wait patiently to see if she is coming my way
Thanks Lindakay

Decided that rather starting a new project I'd get my tote of scraps and make them manageable into strips and blocks...boring job that likely will take all day but someone has to do it

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Hope she does come to visit you, Betty - that would be very nice :-)

I finished the poncho, but do not like how it looks....... will take it to my craft group on Tues and see what they think.
In the meantime - we have our Shed on our lot!! Bob's shifting it a foot further - not liking that he's trying to move it by hand, but..... that's a man for you - won't ask for help.

Once it's to his liking, we can get rid of a lot of clutter in the house!! Hooray!!!!!
We're hoping we have someone hired for a few days to help with the trusses & roof on our addition, and anything else Bob needs assistance with, re: addition. This guy lives in Olds, so I'm sure if he comes here he will want to fill his day.

Verona, ON

Damp, rainy day here too. My joints are screaming at me.Temp is nice though.

Waiting for a call for a MRI. They have bounced me up the waiting list. I thought they might call me last night but no call.

Oh M I am so happy for Lorna. Getting to spend sometime with her family plus a wedding - woo hoo. I've stayed at the Millcroft Inn years ago but my memory could be wrong. Nope it was the Nottawa Inn.

Enjoyed my company - glad they came glad to see them go....lol. I wish I could say Duke was glad to see them pay a visit. I think I mentioned here that my niece tries to correct the dogs and really has no idea what she is doing. She has never had a pet ...oh wait when she was in her early teens she had a rat.Duke immediately backed DN into a wall and gave his danger bark. I could really see just how far Duke has come since he came to me. He trembled for over 24 hrs and is still cranky. He was so upset at the vet's they couldn't do a blood test. He will have to be sedated. Diesel was a champ and had his done. I feel so badly for Duke as everyone gives lots of attention and wants to pet Diesel.
Deb how are your knees?
Chaos is tossing the bowls around the kitchen so I best go and get them fed.
Dianne and her TH

Victoria Harbour, ON

Same here Dianne, aching like crazy.

Did your company spend a few days? Glad they bumped your MRI up, waiting is the pitz. Poor furries, hard when they have you all to their selves and then they have to share you ...

Kings brought the 16 cups and stayed about 1/2hr
Aunt Muriel and Don spent several hours, they were thrilled with the quilt
So much so they pitched in to help me organize my scraps into blocks and strips. Lol

Tired, have left over Chinese food for supper then it's a hot bath for me

Morning everyone, dill kind of day, unbelievable how many leaves have fallen..in low 50's today but tomorrow will be a glorious day with high temps.

Just dusting left to do and downstairs I go
Decided I'd put Lorraine's quilt on the frame and sew the My Canada blocks that are on the design wall together..that ought to fill my day in.

Susan sorry to hear that you aren't pleased with your knitted project..sometimes we are too critical of our works and what you have is just gorgeous..is Bob able to work on the addition?

MeNt to tell "M" , Dianne and Susan that Canadian tire has a great sale on Noma LED bulbs till Thursday I believe..coupons next to where they are displayed, regular $3.99 each, with coupon you pay 99 cents..think I will go into midland tomorrow and pick up 20..some of my lamp bulbs should be replaced for better light and energy efficiency

What have you all planned for the day?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Where is everyone??

"m" sure hope you are not getting the storm that is passing through here..thunder/lightning and wind...

Had company come this morning, just left..wanted to do lunch but they said no, now I'm hungry so guess late lunch will also be supper

missy found a new friend, she is enjoying cuddling

I am here. Taking it easy today, as my allergies are bad. Hot shower helped for a bit. I will be glad when these allergy shots start working.

Love that picture.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

That picture is so cute/ Missy sure makes herself at home!!!
Sorry your allergies are kicking up LK. I have them too but more often they are bad in the spring. More like sniffles now.
I have been working on a crocheted baby blanket to replace one I gave away. I keep one for a boy and for a girl on hand and my landlord just had a new one. Good to have these on hand I think.
Then it is off to finish up my mug rugs this week. Then I want to get hats made to match the baby sweaters I made. Need six....
And then who knows. Playtime. I haven't done anything handmade this year for Christmas. Wonder what the kids will think????

Victoria Harbour, ON

Haven't Thyou been taking allergy shots for quite awhile Lindakay? Can't imagine dealing with it every day..is this bought rashes or breathing?

What a storm we have going on, best I get up and shut computer off and sewing machines as the lights are going off/on

Yikes, haven't heard thunder like that in forever

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I'm here, but heading outside to go break up some boxes I unpacked yesterday
I'm knitting another poncho, with a lighter wool (#5) and will do what I think looks right. It's definitely a better "flow" to a lighter wool, even though it's still very bulky.

Hooray!!! Bob's gone to Olds to pick up a helper for him!
bad news - he noticed that the platform our addition's on has pulled away about 3" at the bottom, all the way across for 24 feet where it was attached to the mobile. He has a plan to snugging it back up, but oh........ how very disappointing and frustrating......

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

My allergies are all in my head, makes me feel as if I am under water all the time. Nose gets stuffed up, and hard to breath.

Glad to hear you are finally getting unpacked Susan!

Verona, ON

LOL LK. When I first read the start of your post I had to laugh. Of course the allergies are not in your head but they are too. I had just finished a chat with someone who has many things that are wrong with her health but for her it is all in her head. Are you still getting your shots?
Oh Susan I am sure glad that Bob knows how to fix the latest hurdle sent your way.
Very dull day here and quite damp. The sky has a weird colour to it - very threatening. Hope weather is good for M and Lorna driving. I am sure they will be glad to sleep in their own beds.
Later
Dianne and her TH

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes, still getting shots. Hubby wants me to stop them, as he feels they are not doing much!
Hope you don't get the storm Betty is getting.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

I'm here :-)
In New Market now .. at he Best Western .
Have been spending lots of time with the Parkers .. Mr. P was not doing well at he wedding .. in fact .. he made the ceremony, but not the reception ..
That was on Friday .. Saturday and Sunday he re couped ... today he was able to make a full on prime rib dinner, with help from Mrs P.
Tomorrow we do the Mandarin (Chinese food) .. BUT .. today a thought of heading to Betty ws squashed as it is awfully foggy !!
Tuesday is to be over 90F :-(
Traffic has been a real thorn in our sides .. major bunches of it ..
Betty .. looks like a meeting might be a big stretch ...
I'll keep working on it ..

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

What Highway are you taking "M"? Surely if it's 400/69 I'm 5 minutes from you and could meet at least to say hi, if Orillia way, 25 minutes away from me and I could drive there to have a quick coffee??

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Wind is up, high of 72 with a feel like 80 and is showing thunderstorms this afternoon..what a doozy of a storm last night

Barb, hooe the mug rugs turn out ok..re homemade gifts at Christmas, when Roger and I were first married I'd make homemade gifts for his siblings and their kids..always thanked me, but the year I had my kidney operation I wasn't well enough we bought gifts..we went Michael's and I could see that they were disappointed, looked at the kids and almost put them aside, when I asked what was wrong I was told that the highlight of our visit was to see what I had made, parents told the kids to go into their closet and get the box ut, here they had saved all I had made over the years that they might one day pass on, it was heartwarming, wasn't long after Christmas they had a second visit and homemade gifts were given. What made you decide not to do homemade, just too much! It is great to have these homemade articles on hand, know homemade is always treasured especially those for babies...been years since I've made baby outfits, keep telling my knitting machines 'one day'I will get back to them

Dianne did you get the storm?

Starting with my 5-5:30 am rising again but that is ok, like that routine, accomplish more. Girls come this morning, need to head downstairs and make sure all is in order.

I accomplished much yesterday, got the 'my Canada quilt sewn ready for quilting and put my sil's quilt she bought at a garage sale for $10 (all hand sewn) on the frame, she wants to give it to her granddaughter who is away at university at Christmas..don't like leaving everything to the last minute so hopefully by the weekend she can pick it up.

I said I'd pick up Suzanne in midland and take her home this afternoon as she is leaving her vehicle at the garage for repair, told her I make a trip to midland Tuesdays anyway, my Kentucky fried chicken day lol

Garbage at the curb, time to head downstairs

I still have time to make for them if I push to the limit. Just can't seem to wrap my head around an idea. I have made and given them all so many things, I don't want to start repeating myself too often.
Those costumes are coming out great! And a $10 quilt is a blessing!
Need to straighten out my sewing area today. I have all kinds of things piled on the cutting table which doesn't make it ready for doing much..... And need to finish some newborn hats for the hospital preemies.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sounds like you have a bust day Betty.
I love that $10.00 find.

Looks like our fall weather will be here Thursday, Supposed to have a thunderstorm, only 76 for the high, and drop to mid 50's at night for a few days.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Things are looking up. 😊
We are likely going to stay an extra day .. Or add as a 'just in case'
That gives us ample time to do a leisurely coffee with Betty, just have to pick the day
Right now it's looking like Thursday ?
Just need some directions. My GPS thing is not happy with the construction .
Debbie, I finally found the USB connection port on thr Garmin, but, have no cable. 🤔

Another foggy day to drive in ..

Hope everyone is doing well

Yay, we get to meet up with Betty, looking forward to that 👍

M

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

PS. Betty, Lorna would like to go to Casino Rama
Is that near you ?
We may stay there Thursday night ..

M

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Woo hoo

Check in is 4pm .. So we will have 'Betty time' ..
We will Go and say bye to Lorna's folks, and, head for Orillia.
There ya have it. 😀

M

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

The fellow that Bob picked up and took home, and did a couple of hours work for us yesterday, was supposed to come back today and we can't get in touch with him.
Bob went to Olds anyway and hoped to meet up with him, but no go.

Today I'm going to the craft group and will take the poncho I'm working on, and the one I did before. Hope the ladies can help with the awkward looking one I did.
