Hope all is OK with Susan, and they got moved.

Gift cards are always a welcome gift.

I guess everything is official with my knee surgery. Supposed to be at the surgery center at noon on Friday. Nothing to eat after midnight, no water after 7am. I was given a prescription for pain meds to pick up ahead of time. I was told just to stay healthy until then, and don't do anything else to my knee (I have a huge bruise on the bad knee from a dog!).

It's raining ....it's raining !!! That huge sigh you heard from south eastern Ont this morning was from all the farmers down here. Perfect rain for the farmers.Still raining and doesn't give off any sign or letting up.

Deb sending positive thoughts your way. Is it day surgery ? That's what it is here. I understand about the dogs. My DH thought he was doing something great for me and it could have been a disaster. Quill smashed the barricade down and Stormy Mott just sailed over it. They just wanted to check me out.. lots of good new smells.

Oh Susan I sure hope things go smoothly when the truck comes tomorrow.

I too missed deb's post, positive it wasn't there when I last posted!
Dianne beat me to it, surely it's more than day surgery but then they don't keep you in unless you are on deaths door..Friday, good day as it should be easy with being the weekend for you to have help..do you have someone who will spend at least the week with you? You will sure have to watch the dogs..

"m" mouth watering here

Dianne, your farmers and mine must have been singing in unison, over excited, rain, rain, rain, still coming down.

Decided to wait till now before heading to town, need some fabric ( hope they have what I want) drop off my janome 9000 for servicing, Maurice said he would be home by 5:30, pick up something for my cold then pick up supper..

By then I will be ready for bed. Lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear you are getting much needed rain in Canada.
Any word on your Mom Betty?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Talk about a storm, winds are high enough to bring down trees...decided not to spend time in town..dropped off sewing machine, went to Walmart for fruit, picked up supper and meds..going to have a hot bath, eat then meds ..bed is calling me

Wow! Please stay safe, and make sure your sump pump is working.

Stopped raining here, ..ground was so dry it doesn't seep within making it into house but a will keep checking

Lyndonville, NY

We woke up to a torrential rain this morning also! So so needed, I will not complain. Almost a hint of green starting in the grass out back. Rain and wind so bad this afternoon, it took a huge tree down 2 streets over and landed on the front porch of a home. No one home at that time thankfully....but its a mess.

Betty, I will talk to DH about end of Sept. I have an important appointment Sept. 14, with testing beforehand....blood work and a sleep study. SO everything depends on those.

Yes, enjoying new floor, still have closet to do, but DH said it must cool down before he is crawling in a closet to do that. I told him leave it. lol I need to get a different vacuum now specifically for hard wood. Dog hair tufts are making me crazy....looks like tumbleweeds.

Thinking of Susan and her move......Lorna's Dad......Bettys Mom (Mama Fran) and everyone else.

Stay safe and healthy.

Happy Anniversary to Barb and Norm :-)

Debbie .. rain I can take, but OH those high winds are something else ..
I use a Swiffer mop on my floors .. dog dust bunnies lurk everywhere here with the 3 white dogs ..

Betty, how did you Mom make out at the docs?

Wonder how Susan is doing, as well as Karen and our Dianne.

Lots of pics from Judy on FBook, she is having a great holiday ..

Good Morning everyone.

I've been up for quite awhile and I think my heart beat is coming back into the normal range. I was walking over to put some stuff into the compost pail and I saw a bear in the distance. I jumped and when I did I almost landed on a milk snake. They are big like a black/rat snake. and it was not too happy with me. I skedaddled back into the house.

Happy Birthday to Lorna. She sure deserves a sleep in. M special meal planned?

Sun is shining but the temp is going back up to the uncomfortable range. I've got all the windows in the house wide open to get some air into the place. The TH are delighted as they can wander in and out as they chose. No point in locking the screen on the door to the deck as Duke can open it.Duke opening the doors doesn't bother me but some guests do not like having 300 lb of dog in the bathroom with them.Yesterday when my cleaning lady was here the TH and I were downstairs. Chaos jumped into the shower stall and wouldn't get out until I gave him a bath.

Been concerned about our Mary and Lance.Baton Rouge still has flood warnings. Sending positive thoughts their way.

So Betty did you get any news about your Mom?

Morning all,

Lousy night, up most of the night, Drats this cold, just cannot shake it!

Happy birthday Lorn, what did you finally decide on a gift "M"

Happy anniversary Barb and Norm, doing anything soecial today?

Was wondering about Susan as well, sure hope they were able to get her moved..nothing seems to go easy for them does it..

Debbie, hope tests go ok, time away might be what you need, we could do a craft or two, do the Meaford apple fest and/or just rest for the rest your travels. I find that these hardwood floors show everything, hardly a day goes by I don't vacuum at least twice a day..

As for mamma Fran she is still staying in bed..her iron is dangerously low, have no idea why doc doesn't sent her for blood,e said there is something on her lungs so sending her for tests..she told him we had plans for weekend of sept 17th, her birthday (going to Buffalo) and he said it will do her good..don't think she eats properly and is losing strength..we will have to see about the. Buffalo trip.

Cool this morning, I fact I just shut off a/c although they say high of 75 feeling like 90
Say 40% chance of rain today, I'll take it.

Joanne just called and wanted to know if I'm up to company..yep
She loves sewing so maybe I can find an easy project..I do want to try that mug rug

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone, just getting up. I had horrible heartburn last night, just as I was trying to go to bed. I was up till 1, trying to get it to go away. Woke up with hives again. My allergy test is supposed to be tomorrow morning if they don't re-schedule again!
Happy anniversary Barb and Norm! What will you do for your special day!
Sending a big Happy birthday to Lorna today!

Hope your heartburn is gone LK. When I started Celebrex I had terrible heartburn . So to keep on getting the Celebrex the doc gave me a script for my heartburn.

Well my day with me meeting weird animals on the lane just keeps happening. There was a squirrel that looked like half of him was pure white and the other half a browny colour. Something that really concerns me is a turtle laying eggs on the lane. Poor thing her internal clock must be out of whack. I must say as long as it is not a snake I'm happy to meet them.

Same temp here this morning Betty. BUT ...... the high temps are coming back starting tomorrow. I was in a real pickle as I didn't know whether to turn the ac off or leave it. I have mine set at 72*

Dianne

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

LOVELY cake LK, Lorna is all smiles over it, and, all the good wishes.

NOT in a good place right now .. the heat is just oppressive .. it's about 98-100 with the humidity .. makes me 'muzzy'.

Lorna and I went grocery shopping .. then for a ride down by the lake .. not a breeze ..

Home now and waiting to pick up Chinese Food .. if I don't keel first LoL

BBL

~M~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh my goodness Dianne, it is your day for animals for sure. Please be careful knowing there is a bear so close.
Hives are slowly going away, biggest one was on my right eye. It is still swollen a bit, but not bad.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Think I'll join you and Lorna and fors "M" with Chinese food for Lorna's birthday as I have some left from the other night..will save me trying to decide what to eat.

We must have cross posted Dianne, omg you are a brave women out there know G likelihood of bears/snakes...laughing at your shower companion..
We did get a tad of rain this afternoon, enough that there is no need to water but now it's muggy' than old heck so back went the a/c..I know, why turn it off, just have to keep it at 72, Roger always gave me as does Greg now the what for as I'm always playing with thermostat when there is no need.

Lindakay, you sure have had a time of it dealing with hives this past summer, just got to be something you are allergic to that you are unaware of.

Joanne just left,we had a lovely visit and she made a piece large enough to set on back couch or hang, just needs to quilt it now..I played lazy, I cut fabric to try that mug rug, now to sew...might have to be tomorrow

Linda called, she said they had a bolt with 8 yards of tone on tone white snowflakes so she picked it up for me..easy easy, e transferred her the funds already..

Have to call and say I'm not up to going to the battens tomorrow for supper, still not 100% and I don't want someone to catch my cold

Victoria Harbour, ON

Was in the woodworking room and it came to me, maybe we could do a lantern, you would just need to save a mason jar..am on the job. Lol

Lyndonville, NY

Love the lantern idea. I have several sizes I picked up for making pickles last year and was trying to think something to do with them.

I hope Lorna had a special day.

Took DH for an MRI, he had to have a "take the edge off med" because of the claustrophobia, so he took me to dinner after. All in all....a decent day.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

MANY thanks from Lorna , and myself, for all the birthday wishes .. she had a great day .. used the hardware gift certificate right away to upgrade her trimmer .. I swear, she'll be flying around that cemetery LoL
Supper was yummy.. lots left .. and, am sending her to work with Lo Mein(Chinese spaghetti) ..
Only downer was the weather .. close to 100 F and H U M I D !!!!!!!!!!!!
I couldn't sit out on the patio .. so DH and Lorna did .. I did finally manage an hour out there, but, it wasn't pleasant, and, it was after 6pm and a south wind had come up ..
So birthday #58 is done :-) onwards to the wedding down east, AND, please just a little less heat.

Lanterns sound nice for your Xmas craft .. sounds like something I might be able to do LoL

Dianne .. not fond of Bears, but, would take one over a snake !!! At least I could see the bear !

Debbie .. I was given an Ativan prior to an MRI ... it worked AFTER LoL .. and .. as the machine didn't cover my head, I was OK ..

Thoughts and prayers with Mary in Baton Rouge .. just horrific news footage from there ..

I love the idea of a lantern Betty.
Sounds like Lorna had a wonderful day. Norm and I have been so wiped out from the heat that we decided to wait until vacation (end of Aug) to go to dinner. But we did go out for ice cream sundaes!!!!! Got several gift cards to play with then.....
Must get moving this AM as it is hair cut day and it is a 40 mile drive to get there...
Have a great one everybody....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I like the idea of a lantern too.
Glad to hear Lorna had a good birthday.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Sniffle,sniffle
We had torrential rain. Yesterday afternoon, says it will be 78 with a feel like 93 and not calling for rain but must say I think we are in for a storm, sky is completely dark and you can just feel the rain is a coming, we will see who is right.

Thinking of you this morning Deb, am sure you are busy making sure all is in order, dogs looked after, groceries stocked up etc..so much to do when you know you will be off your feet for a bit.

Yikes Debbie, meds can sure play hell with ones system..are you feeling a tad better?

You would indeed be able to do this project "M", all that it entails is either staining or painting lantern color of choice and putting a few screws in pre drilled areas..

Found some of the pieces in the box of goodies I have downstairs, wasn't sure when I came across it last night if all was there, nope, not quite all so will figure out what is missing, cut them out and get one done..had a thought, if we did it early enough one could put a decorative pick and ribbon for Halloween and then change it to winter pick and ribbon..I had electrical cord in it but it limits where you can out it, wondered about a battery operated light..hmm gives me something to think about

Heavy rains have many of the taller plants laying on the ground, just can't win..but the back area where the patio set is. Noticed between the cement stones the grass is growing and turning green again so there is hope!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Oh my Betty .. the gardens look stellar .. especially like those windows you made, just beautiful ..

Lorna is having a bit of a go around with her petunias .. I can only guess it's the heat and humidity .. she worries so about her 'pretties'

Barb .. Sundaes sound good :-) Got Lorna a DQ cake, BUT, .. DH did not shut the fridge door (in the garage) tight enough he went out to get it and we just salvaged it ! Another couple of hours and it would have been a float !! we enjoyed it though ..

Best of luck tomorrow Deb .. make sure you have ice packs on hand ..

I am totally trying to AVOID my 'TO DO' for today .. clean out the fridge and the upright freezer .. remember when I bought the beasts? HUGE .. and,as happy as I was, well, things tend to get 'lost' in there .. so .. time to go in search of any 'furry bits'

LK .. dang me re those hives !!

Back home and back in touch. Hard to be in remote areas with little to no on line access. Enjoyed seeing DD and DGDs plus a few of the grands. Went through a wild storm on the way home very high winds and temps dropped 20 degrees in a flash. Heavy rain made it difficult to see for a bit. Then back to sunshine and warm just as quickly. I was surprised my porch plants fared rather well while we were gone. No ripe maters yet but soon we will have tons. DGS and his girl came home behind us and will be staying a few days. My cousin and some of his tribe will be here tomorrow. That's summer on the lake.
Ate as mild and as little as I could on the way home, going back to broth today. feeling better and the pain is backing down. Hoping it will go away in a few days. There really doesn't seem to be much Drs. can do for pancreatitus.
Hubby is starting to back away from us going to Germany, he's worried I'd get sick there. I told him let's go ahead with our passports and take it from there.
Hoping we hear soon that Susan is all moved and they can get back to somewhat normal. I did worry about them moving an older mobile home. Hoping owner at new place doesn't give them difficulty over it.

Victoria Harbour, ON

That is quite a storm to have had to drive through Karen, if it was rain such as we had yesterday think I'd have stopped and spent the night till the front moved on. I'm with your hubby, think it's quite a chance you would take going to Germany, too many ,'what if's' looming..when was it you were planning on going? I remember well the summers on the lake, what fun we had but got to say I was some tired..week after week after week, all and all great memories.

Got to say "M" I never plant petunia's, not fond of them at all

Rain is holding off, I'm playing in the craft room
Got the 4 pieces of wood stained yesterday so this morning I gave them 2 coats of black, didn't think with this humidity stain would be dry enough but it was.still need to sketch the pattern, this afternoons project I'm sure

Tried the mug rug pattern, I'd make a few changes, might do another this afternoon.
Next time I'm at Tim Hortons I'll pick up a few gift cards, start stocking up, the mug rug has a pocket so a Christmas mug, mug rug filled with goodies (fudge) and a timmies card in the pocket will make a gift. For that someone you want to give a Christmas gift to but not spend a fortune on..aren't I terrible!!!

Drats, went to foodland this morning, seems I forgot the most important thing I went for, kittie litter, means another teip to town..think I will wait closer to supper time and pick up a cooked chicken, bit tired of left over Chinese. Lol

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hesr you are home Karen. I think I would have pulled over for that storm too.

Well, I finally had the first part of my allergy test this morning, and I am allergic to just about all the trees, grasses, animal dander and molds they tested for. I have to go back Monday for the the food allergy part. But because I am allergic to so many they tested for today, she said I need to come in for allergy shots, and it is twice a week for the first four months!!!

Thumbnail by taters55
Victoria Harbour, ON

Not good Lindakay but still better having the shots than dealing with the hives..animal dander, oh oh, what will you do re animals?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

The animals I am allergic to are guinea pigs and dust mites. No guinea pigs here, so I am good. I just need to dust more often.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

*****SPECIAL MESSAGE FOR BETTY***** .. Lorna says you are her angel ..
The temps here are almost at 100, and, she is feeling fine wearing the 'ice collar' :-)

LK .. Lorna's Mom gets shots monthly for allergies, and yet, she still reacts to stuff .. air conditioning makes her lose her voice .. certain foods make her itch .. just hope you are successful with the treatment ..
Are they worried any of the allergies could be life threatening ?

Karen .. pancreatitis is just an awful deal .. I wish you well and quick recovery.
Worrying about Susan as well ..

Got the fridge done .. YAY ..

Off to do something :-)

~M~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Nothing life threatening "M", just allergic to so many things. I need to keep the dust bunnies under control! :)

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Well Damn, Hubby just found out that all of his and grandson's fishing rods, tackle boxes and equipment was stolen. Neighbors was too . It happened Monday night. For over thirty years, we've never had a single problem here. It's heartbreaking, stuff he's had all his life. I guess it doesn't do to get complacent.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

OH NO! So sorry to hear this Kaaren. Does anyone have security camera?

Verona, ON

Oh no Karen. I am sure your DH is just shattered. I sure know how much the rod and tackle box meant to your DH. Warren had special lures in his tackle box that he had since he was a kid. I am so sorry.

LK my Rogue boy (x between a white shepherd and a samoyed) was allergic to fleas. Poor guy. Before we first sorted it out his belly was a raw mess. I too had to vacuum twice a day.

Didn't get much done today but I tackled another closet. Quite amazing what I found packed in there. Now I now know why the TH would sit in front of the closet. There were dog treats and chewies way at the back with something on top of them. I

Betty did you get a letter about changes in your car insurance. I am with Johnson's and the letter said I should check out what my coverage is because there are big changes as of June /2016. By golly if we contacted them almost 60 days later we would be fined.

Barb I am happy for you that you and Norm have decided to celebrate your anniversary another day. Often when our Christmas shows lasted until Dec 23 we would celebrate our Christmas later in the week.

This heat and humidity has really gone back up into the uncomfortable range.

Still can't access my email. Why couldn't Bell leave it be? Oh I know... it was working for everyone.

Thinking of you and your knee Deb.

Dianne and her TH

snafu for sure - even moving our piano, stove and a cabinet out, the movers tried to go over a berm - TWICE - and pulled out mobile, so the walls are buckled in the dining area and kitchen, and the tub surround is also buckled.
plumbing & sewer are hooked up, but it's leaking outside. The electric ian hasn't shown up yet, and not answering his phone so we don"t know what's going on.........

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear that Susan. I hope your repairs are easy to fix.
