Oh my our big day is tomorrow and we are starting early, hope I can get to sleep soon. We've been all day with what we call the party before the party. All the family arriving, it's been great fun and just beginning.

Verona, ON

Morning everyone !!! Sharon's sleep angels did not find me tonight. Actually they did find me about by 10 pm but I woke up around 1 am and have been up since.

Went to a friend's tonight for dinner. She made 1 of the best potato salads I have ever had ........ she put relish in it. Her rhubarb pie was tasty.

Oh Karen you must be so happy and blessed to have all of your family around you. Looking forward to seeing some pics of you all together.

Susan a rabbit when a coyote catches it will screech and it sounds just like a person. A few years ago when Cricket (cat) was part of our family would not
come in I was stewing about it. There was this terrible screech/scream and I said to DH guess Cricket won't be coming home now. I couldn't stand it so I went out and there was fur like a rabbit's. Cricket was at the front door with his eyes as big a dinner plate.

Perfect fall day yesterday and I hope the same for today I need to get all the boxes I have tossed out by the woodpile broken down. What an eyesore they are.

Betty you be careful when you are helping Bernie

Eyes are starting to droop so maybe I will get some sleep after all.

Morning ..

Busy day yesterday, and, no doubt today too ..
Canadian Tire I think is on the list .. thinking it opens at 10? Have to look

Looks like lovely party Betty .. I hear ya on the cool evenings though .. we sat out til about 7pm and then I felt the chill.

Susan .. in Ontario, we have animals that, when in a 'situation' .. will make a noise like screaming .. high pitched ... A Doe in danger will, as will a Bobcat or a Lynx .. all I know is it wasn't human .. scary for sure .. have asked our neighbours, but, I seem to have been the only one (besides the dogs) that heard it ..

Making a slow cooker recipe, guess I should start getting things together.

Enjoy your day :-)

Morning all..
Up early, helped Bernie/Charlene for several hours, did all we could until tomorrow when they deliver the big green big then there will be some major purging, I'll try and go a few times this week to help where I can, didn't overdo..try as I made. Said I wouldn't bring anything home with me,,brought some pond plants, a birdfeeders and a box of new paint brushes, ohh and a piece for the gardens, old sailor holding a dog, am sure somewhere in the gardens I ca. Find a home for him, perhaps near the pond.

After hearing about Dianne's potatoe said I decided I'd make a macaroni and a potatoe salad for tonight's supper so water is on to cook for both.. Will have to try a tad of relish Dianne.

Susan, looks as though life is coming together for you and Bob, lots of work ahead though.

"m" suppose to warm up later this week and yes evenings right now are cool.

Before I clean myself up think I will go outside and get grass cut, weeding in the ditch done then have a relaxing afternoon

Karen you enjoy every minute of your family reunion, plenty of time to rest later

Always seems like here is something to be done when you live on your own

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Been busy here. We have been to town to get last minute things, Todd has been cooking a brisket ll night long, just about done. Big batch of pico de gallo is done. Potatoes are cooking for potato salad, I bought strawberries and whip cream for strawberry shortcake. Watermelons are in the cooler on ice.

Yum yum,

.bet the kids are enjoying themselves..are they calling for good weather for tomorrow..oh yes, you are in Texas, likely no rain and high temps but the rest of you, good weather?

I have to run to foodland, realized I need a few things to do salads seeing as Dianne got me making salads. Lol

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

Just came in for a break from working in the yard. Perfect day here, low 70's slight breeze. I was doing good until my loppers broke! Lots of bushes I want to get trimmed, the city does a free branch pick up first week of the month, so I need to get things trimmed this weekend. Guess I'll have to run out to pick up a new one.

Pups are enjoying the weather, more outside than in, which is good.

Thanks for the birthday wishes Marilynne and those sent by folks from other threads. I've been celebrating all week with various family and friends. We have Lil'E for the weekend while DD (Mom'E) and Dad'E attend a wedding in Maryland. Lil'E turned three three days before my birthday. Been very busy with activities and trying to beat the nearly hundred degree daily heat. This is not normal even in this part of the south.

Having grown up in S. FL, I never saw or ate rhubarb until late in life. Not sure about a food that's only good with lots of sugar. I'm not a fan of sweets. Did pick our peach tree clean on my b.d. and will make jam and maybe chutney to last the year. You haven't lived until you've eaten a warm ripe peach (or three) right off the tree.

Hope Canada Day was filled with fun and family for those who celebrate. We are content to enjoy the 4th from a little person's perspective so we won't be attending ten o'clock fireworks shows.

Verona, ON

Well I have had my hissy fit for the day and here I am back on DG. I had a long chatty post and when I went to post it I dragged my forearm across the keyboard. Poof gone.I am afraid to admit it but blue words came out of my mouth.

No shows this weekend Deb ?

Oh M whatever screamed in your area last night must have had a cousin down here doing the same. The TH went ballistic, All of the motion lights came and I could hear something running. I took a gun out with me just in case.

My American neighbours are having a blast. They have fireworks every night but they don't blast it after midnight. I wish I could say that about others on the lake. One of my neighbours has a party ever year on Canada Day. They ask everyone who comes to bring something for the food bank. They play soccer, volleyball, some fish. Now they all have kids. I love to see them all interact. No computer games for these kids.

Betty did you make a potato salad? Think I will make a tuna and macaroni salad if I have some tuna.Other than that I will have rhubarb pie for dinner. I have my mouth already for some watermelon but I will wait until I go into Ktown this week.

LK it sounds like your family is having a great time visiting you.

The TH has had their meal. Chaos was tossing his food bowl around in the kitchen.... so I knew they were hungry. I am a little concerned about the boys - even Chaos who does not have Lymes don't want to go out and play. They are sticking close to me - like velcro close. I am wondering with all the activity on the lake, fireworks and people at their cottages it has them out of sorts. Diesel can't comprehend why he can't go where we usually walk. While my neighbours are up I won't let the boys go down there.

Glorious Fall day here.
Dianne and her TH

Victoria Harbour, ON

Deb, mega work ahead of you..I did a lot of branch cutting this afternoon as well, I'm lucky enough to be able to burn in the pit I made..sure if full, should have a bonfire before it rains again..perhaps tonight. I bought the long handle loppers, I find I don't need a lot of strength to close them.. The dogs must be loving it, know Missy is on back porch taking in the fresh air.

Always nice Laurel to get to celebrate birthdays more than one..our Judy here on dg celebrates hers the entire birthday month..wayyyy to go

You will have mega fun with Lil E, won't be outdoor fun with such high temps..

Ok, Dianne got me making salads and now you are teasing with how delicious peaches are, mouth watering..best I can do is open a can of peaches. Lol. Lucky you, right off the tree.

Put in quite the day, helped my brother Bernie re his move, made salads, had a visit from aunt murieland her beau, weeded the ditches and around the trees, went to start rider, no go, Greg and Kyle just came, battery dead so we are charging battery..think I will call it a day re work, had my bath so might just watch tv, noooo likely bring my Halloween fabric upstairs and take inventory..bought that pattern yesterday and am hoping I've enough fabric to make it..

Bet you are all looking forward to tomorrow's festivities

108 this afternoon. Wish I could send some North.

Marilynne & Betty - I agree with the sounds that animals make - that's why I said "Bob said"...... because I don't agree with him. When they're frightened, some animals can cry and scream, and it's similar to a human cry or scream. It sounds like it must have been close to you, because you're the only one (and the dogs) who heard it...... scary

Yeah, a lot of work ahead of us, but I know at least 2 people who have moved out who will give me suggestions in case I've forgotten anything ahead of time. My greatest fear is that we'll find ourselves not ready and the Mobile Hauler won't be able to take our mobile on that day. I Do Not want to have to reschedule....
I'm trying to relax, but I've never been responsible for moving an entire home before....

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg Lindakay, by far we Canadians are better having our winters than you with your summers..

We should keep a tally of how many days we can't go out in the winter vs you in the summer

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Apparently Calgary gets more days of sunshine than "Sunny Manitoba"! I wouldn't have thought it possible, and you still can't convince me, and I Live Here lol
They've done studies on rainfall, sunshine, etc, across Canada, and I imagine they do the same for the US states?!?!

Verona, ON

My delightful niece had her second son on June 30. She teaches in Jakarta and along with her DH and DS are living in Oregon for the summer. That is his home state. They had gone camping but had to come back the morning of June 30 as she was in labour. So William has a baby brother named Jameson. I was shocked they would let her fly.

Have babied my back for 2 days so hope I can go outside and get some more things done.

Sweet dreams everyone.
Dianne and her TH

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Wow - I'm surprised they let her fly, too! Being in labour, who knows when she'd deliver.... omygosh.......
Good that you've babied your back, but please don't rush it - you don't want to do it an injury again

Victoria Harbour, ON

Happy 4th of July dear friends..

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

I echo Betty .. HAPPY 4th of JULY !!!

Congrats on the safe arrival of Jameson, Dianne .. have to add here that when we flew to Toronto in March this year, one of the flight attendants was largely 'with chid' .. our seats were located near the front and we could see her 'jump seat' quite clearly .. when we were about to land, the Captain came on the intercom, and, he wished the attendant all the best as it was her last flight, and, she was due in a week !!

A scorcher here yesterday .. almost 90 .. Lorna is amazing, she trimmed out the property, pruned all the shrubs .. the place looks aces ..
I mowed, and watched the dogs .. did a bunch of stuff inside .. the drug I am on does not like me to be in the heat ..

I hope all our US friends have a safe and happy 4th.

Morning all,

Sooo anxious to hear all about your weekend Karen and what surprise you got..when do you head home with the little ones?

Dianne, congrats on the arrival of Jameson, Lordy yes, am surprised they key her fly.,normally any signs of ill health you cannot fly, thought for sure late pregnancies would be same...breakfast television, hope you are watching has a special on sleep..know how you fight to get a night in, might help..give your back a few more days Dianne, you don't want to spend weeks in bed.

'm' and Dianne, we will be getting high temps for the next few days..think I'll give the lawns /gardens a good soaking to help with not burning. Susan your weather surprises me..

Where to start my morning? Might spend it between yard duty and quilting..back garden near the frame needs mega pruning and purging of plants..skitters are heavy back there so should wait a tad before starting in it..you can barely see the frame so I can hang my planter

Aren't these crazy daisies beautiful..must plant more

Did some weeding, did the grass and now I am itching all over..mega skitters out there tonight..

Watering the lawn, no rain expected for several days and high temps so give them a good watering...plants said thank you

Happy 4th of July to all my American Friends!

Had a full day today - went to have a scan of my legs to find out why I was getting them swollen. Scan showed they're Clear!
Sat my GP was away, and his partner filled in - gave me the wrong strength of Hydromorph - gave me 2 x 6 mg, and should have been 2 x 4.5 mg... needless to say, the pharmacy wouldn't take them back, so now I have a prescription of 5 mg and another of 4.5mg.... to be used when I need them

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Morning

Yesterday was just too hot to do much of anything .. BUT .. Lorna is 50% nearer her new leg:-)
She saw Kerry yesterday and he was able to get the liner, that she must put on first before getting into the leg, to FIT!! .. she was thrilled ..
While there, she met a Mom with a 3 year old son who is a double amputee .. Lorna was some impressed with this little fellow .. long story, but, he is adopted by the woman and her hubby after having been abused .. I am not going to get into the semantics of the abuse, suffice to say he now has a good home, and, is happy, but will have to wear prosthetic legs the rest of his life.

Busy day today .. I THINK Gord might be home .. altho, tomorrow is his birthday so, he might wait til then .. his bud really is not doing too well .. many health issues .
Anyway .. want to get his gifts, and a cake, and do some shopping before we again hit the 90+ F mark

Hope everyone had a great 4th ..

Morning.

Ready for a warm one, a/c on, girls will appreciate the coolness of the craft room I'm sure.

"m" that is good news reLorna and her leg, when is she expecting to get it? Sad story about the little one..hard to believe there are such cruel people, people who would do unmentionables to a child..may they get their coming to.

Susan, a relief that the scan showed clear but disappointed that there are no answers..it's the not knowing.

Woke up just before 4am startled by a knock at the door, layer for a moment, thought if it were any of the kids they know where the key is..waited a few minutes then went to look, nobody there..couldn't go back to sleep, had already been a doze off and on, hopping and legs paining like the dickens..think if the girls weren't completely no today I'd just spend the morning in bed..missy just vomited all over at the end of the bed, Drats guess I'm going to have to wash it, just did so on the weekend..

Guess it means I have to get a move on

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. We had a beautiful celebration with the kids. The rubber band and watermelon was a success. My daughter in law posted a video on facebook.
Glad to hear Lorna is getting closer to getting her new leg.
Betty, it sounds like you have a pinched nerve, making your legs hurt. I have a bulging disc that makes both of my legs hurt. I have to take a vicodin and an ambien at bed time to help me sleep.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We had such a wonderful reunion, my daughter took over 300 pics. Great turnout and everyone just stayed & stayed. I so surprised my vets. I asked for them and wives to come up. just called by name. Such puzzled faces. Then had each wife choose a bag. I then explained what I was about and had each wrap their spouse in a quilt and give them a hug. The surprised looks were wonderful. I got mega hugs too. My kids surprised us with the family group T's. All in all a grand day. Photos: All my vets Most of my gang.

Oh Karen, they all look so happy.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Marilynne - how awesome that Lorna is that much closer to getting her new leg! What's happening with her scooter - has she sent it off? Breaking so easily is not a good thing. who's taking responsibility?
Three years old and to have suffered so much - poor little guy. Good that he's in a happy home.

Karen - what a great clan, and glad you had a great reunion. They look awesome in their family T shirts!

Betty - did you ever find out about the knock at your door? Could it have been a dream? Why was Missy throwing up - I hope she's ok, but not nice to have to be cleaning it up...... again! Yeah, why ARE your knees hurting?

No idea why my legs and feet are swelling, but tried to put on the compression stockings... no go. Turning my knees to do it myself isn't helping my knees. They don't like to be turned lol I've been periodically trying to put them on since I got out of the hospital in March. Damn, but these things are Tough to put on. I'm giving up on them....... Guess I'll just have to drink a lot of water and hope that works. Dr said that water pills would just make me pee a lot and that drinking a lot of water may help just as much. Last time I did that (2 gallons a day) for several days running, they were still swelling.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I guess that the Dr saying "water pills" means it's just water retention. Back to drinking 2 Gal of water a day lol

Victoria Harbour, ON

Karen, lovely family photo..what a great reunion..I'm sure those vets were beyond themselves getting such recognition, not only in a soace but a quilt..omg I've shivers just thinking about it..when do you leave for home?

Susan, good luck drinking all that water..date of move??

Dianne, ladies said to say thanks re salads, told them you mentioned salads and I made enough for an army Sooo today the five of us had salads and ham and fresh bread rolls, yum yum! Pat is leaving for Greece for 3 weeks as of Friday so we said it was in celebration of her trip.

Went outside, talk about humid..saw the gentleman next door who is working on the bakery and now has an apartment in same complex for he and his wife..they too are going home to Greece but for 3 months..he has olive groves so gave me a large bottle of olive oil from his groves..should last me forever..

Lindakay, any pictures of the kids?

Think I'm ready for a nap💤😴💤

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Susan .. we used t apply powder to the leg BEFORE slipping on the stocking, may help you, but, they are difficult to put on ..
Also .. if you're taking a water pill for fluid retention, I sure wouldn't drink 2 gallons of water a day ..maybe 6 8oz glasses ..
Perhaps the retention is heart related ?

Betty, I hope the knock at the door was just a dream .. bothersome ..
Poor Missy .. was she eating grass? Smokey became part cow in the summer.

Lorna's 'smooshed walker' is in a heap in the garage .. we are expecting a full refund from Sweden.
Hoping her new leg will be ready next week .. she'll keep this one as backup ..

DH called, and, he is on the way home .. have his pressies and DQ cake ..

I am POOPED .. it is H O T for this whimpy northern girl .. 90 or more with the humidex .. how lorna works in this is incredible !

Oh Karen you all look so happy. What a wonderful tribute to you and your DH.I can just feel the love when I look at the photos.

Goodness gracious me Lorna is just so stoic with the way things are progressing with her leg. And then to have her walker collapse, oh my. When I use the word stoic as a compliment to Lorna.

Hot, hot, hot here too M. What about you Betty? It's 92* before the humidity is factored in. I worked outside till about noon and then it was just too hot. I was chasing the shade as I worked. The TH are sprawled over the floor vents. My cleaning lady was here this morning. When she walked in the first thing she said was "oh wonderful you have the ac on" I would not expect her to clean if I didn't have the ac on.

LK I am so happy for you that you got to enjoy your son's and the grands visit.

Well Betty you have made me wanting to make a salad but I need tuna. I won't go out today but will get what I need tomorrow.

My new neighbour who I met briefly on Sunday has asked me over for tea tomorrow. I know ML left her notes telling her if she has any questions to ask me. I felt bad when I went down on Sun to take a newsletter I spoke to her about her dog wandering. Poor little Juno is just overwhelmed by all this space.

I saw the fisher last night just before the dusk moved to dark. Have never seen 1 this late in the day. Must remember to tell the new neighbour about the fisher.

Barb I took care of the sports bra situation the next day. Just wondering where the 3-4 sports bras are. I had a few because I worked out 5 or 6 times a week when I worked in TO.

Dianne and her TH

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Marilyn - Good that they're going to give a full refund!! it's only fair. When will she get a new one?
Dianne - how lovely that your new neighbour has invited you over for tea :-) Is Juno their dog?
Betty - fresh olive oil? Very lucky you are - be sure to use it for absolutely Everything - it's good on salads etc, as well as for cooking. It won't stay fresh forever, and I'm sure he uses it a lot so that's why he gave you so much. Fresh is so healthy for you.

Date of move is August 15th - we'll be demolishing our additions on the 13th & 14th, but will still have internet - we'll live in our RV until the mobile is set up in Torrington. That may take a couple of days, although we'll have internet on the 15th - likely in the evening.
I'm not taking water pills - Dr just mentioned that, and didn't recommend it. Easier to drink a lot of water.
It's not heart related - although I got a small am't of damage from my lungs not giving any air in March, they said they're not worried about my heart.
I could use powder - had thought of it, but thought the gloves would help. They're not lol
Got a juicer for free a week ago - should use it, eh? Have some ingredients, but want more lol Need beets for a lot of the recipes I found. Good for detox & weight loss - YEAH!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening, is hot and hotter tomorrow..calling for rain late afternoon..didn't go out and work in the yard, it can wait!

Dianne just don't make enough for 20 when you make your salad..how nice to get invited to tea..tea on the lake how I miss that, have to settle for tea near the pond. Lol. I bought 6 sports bras when I was in Florida a few years ago..I'm heavy chested so they don't do me justice but do wear them when I'm on a long trip, findif I don't I'm always pulling-tugging at my bra and it drives me crazy especially when I'm tired.

"m" pressies, oh what do you think Gord bought you? Now isn't it his birthday tomorrow and he is the one getting pressies? What did you end up getting Gord? Lorna is a trooper, here is hoping she doesn't overdo in this heat.

Susan, time will fly by..is Bob getting excited, likely excited about the move but not the amount of work it entails.

Trying to decide if I should take a run to Walmart, need some steam a seam so I can get on with my Canada quilt, boy it takes a lot, guess because I'm doing three, call me crazy, last 2 blocks I've done 4 as I'm thinking of making one for the 150th year of Canada draw for the legion next year..have a year to finish that one and if I don't I don't. So, it's get up off the couch and see if Walmart has it or wait till morning and half the day will be gone by the time I get back

Missy was resting out in the back porch earlier ( what a life) and now I can't find her..worry about those fishers as we have them here as well

We had beautiful weather over the weekend, mid 70's for highs during the day. Starting to get hot here now, upper 80's today, and it's supposed to be 90's rest of the week.

Was at doc today for exercise therapy I've missed the last couple weeks, and mentioned my knee has been bothering me. (A couple weeks ago the pups were wrestling and banged my knee, had a sharp pain, and it felt like me knee would bend backward). It's been getting a bit better, but still painful and I'm not as steady on it as I was. She ordered an MRI on it, I go for that tomorrow afternoon. Not sure what to expect, I've only heard stories about the loud noises and feeling claustrophobic. Doesn't sound like fun, but guess I'll survive it!

Salad sounds like a good idea for supper, I'll have to see what I can come up with!

Deb

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Karen, you are awesome! Wonderful pics of your weekend.

Susan, you certainly have a circulatory issue. Whether it's your heart as a pump or kidneys as a filter, you must wear compression stockings. It's non negotiable. If you can't get them on try powder as Marilynne suggested. If it's still a problem ask your doc for a lesser 'script. They come in degrees of compression. Once you tackle a lesser compession you can move up. Also, sitting is terrible for return circulation. Elevating the entire leg evenly (without a bend) will help. Do this every four hours or more. Do not drink extra water. "Water pills" are diuretics. They help your kidneys get rid of excess fluid.

I'm very surprised that it gets so hot in Canada. Our temps have been abnormally hot but I'd rather get up and be in the garden by seven, chill and do house stuff during the heat and water before bedtime than freeze my cookies. I do believe we acclimate to the climate we were brought up in. My Boston born and reared SO is much more cold tolerant than Miami Beach me.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Yeah, Bob's getting excited - I'm doing the logistics, and Bob's going to do a lot of clearing out sheds & porch beforehand for the prep to move, then will be building additions once we get there. We do have The Smile Gang Operations helping us with the demo and move (of the hot tub and lumber, etc). Our interior stuff will stay inside the mobile, mostly packed and one layer of boxes.
I really hope I have all my T's crossed and I's dotted.....

Yes, Ma'am, Laurel! I'll try the stockings again tomorrow am. These things are not covered by medical, and they're $200 each pair..... not going to go from one size to another - I will use the ones the hospital gave me when I was there, in March, for free. They're very strong compression.
btw - in Winnipeg, we'd get summer temps of 105F in the summer. Much hotter than where we are living now - hot here is 85F.....

Well, off to go make dinner on our new Bullet Express Trio. Used the juicer part today and made Carrot/Apple/Celery juice. Very nice. Going to get stuff for more juices. So good for me, and will help me lose more weight. (which my knee surgeon wants me to do..... I'm pushing a loss of 25 lbs now...... need twice that gone......) I'll try to make an appt next Monday, when he has his hospital/clinic schedule set. App't won't be until Sept. sometime

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Good evening everyone.

Another scorcher today. 108 today.
Susan, when I had my hip surgery they gave me a pair of those stocking, and I went online to ebay and bought 2 more pair for like $20.00.
A few pictures of the kids playing outside having a water balloon fight. The balloons had food coloring, that is why they are all wearing Grandpas old t shirts. If you go to my facebook page, there is a video of us putting rubber bands around the watermelon. And it popped.

Thumbnail by taters55 Thumbnail by taters55 Thumbnail by taters55
Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Yes, the compression stockings are a huge savings online but you must know the correct prescription for your needs. The compression is graduated as the stocking goes up. There are different compression gradients for specific surgeries or conditions. Each company makes multiple precription hose so ordering by brand alone is not sufficient. You must match the prescription to what was originally ordered by your doctor unless otherwise instructed.

Compression stockings are ordered primarily to prevent deep thrombosis clots which can result in life threatening complications. Anyone who has an order for compression hose should take it seriously and then some if there is a distal limb impairment or surgery to hip, leg or foot or either clot or heart history or pre-existing varicosities.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Of the ones you mentioned, Laurel, the only one I would be concerned about is the clot I had, due to a sedentary lifestyle (which was forced on us by our former tenants, and which I no longer dis-enjoy! The Dr told me that people who had a clot have a 30% chance of getting another one.
But seriously, I make under $400 / month, and cannot afford to spend half of that on stockings that are not covered by any of our medical plans (of which I only have the gov't plan, nothing to do with work - no job). I have to make do with what I have - the stockings the hospital gave me, and more mobility. I Will Try tomorrow. I understand the seriousness of my former clots, and do not want to face death, as I did in March, for another 30 years (at least!!). I was sufficiently scared at my hospital stay, believe me. My Dr did not order compression stockings for me, btw. I asked for them in the hospital and that's why I have them. He only suggested them as a possibility if I chose to use them.
And of course, losing 25 lbs as I have, is only part of my rehabilitation. It's not just for my knees that I want to lose weight - it's a good all-over health thing.
My daughter sent me the Oh She Glows vegan recipe book, and now that I have the juicer too, I'm eating more healthily.
