We are heading down on Fri to have extra time with family coming in early. Also going by way of Kalamazoo to pick up one DGS. He usually travels by train but I will enjoy extra time with him.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends old/new!
Morning everyone.
74 right now, supposed to be 99 today.
I lost all the petunias I planted a few weeks ago, darn bunny, so I just planted impatiens in white, pink and purple. I got all the plants watered and hummer feeders cleaned and filled.
Sleep angels did not visit here last night either. I think there will be a nap today.

They must have all been here lindakay giving me a good nights sleep.
So far so good, no critters eating in my garden..lots of ant hills though.
Will be a great visit Karen, enjoy every minute of it.
Suzanne called, was raining at her house but not here..might just pass us by..sure hope not.
Girls just left..of course we had butter tarts with our coffee lol then Steve, Darlene's BIL dropped in for his trailer, needs it for the day then will bring it back to park while they are doing their yard upgrades so gave him a dozen for Darlene and Joyn..now freezing the rest before they all end up in my tummy. Kyke ebpven dropped in for a visit, girls hadn't seen him in some time so we all had a nice chat..
Drats, ran out of wonder under so at a standstill with my block so will have to run into town..
Lunch time, maybe I will eat left overs from last night then maybe pick up Kentucky fried chicken for supper, Lonnie Tuesday today so mega deal.
Congratulations, Karen!! What a beautiful name for a beautiful baby!
AWE! Congratulations Karen. How many grands does this make?
Ahhh how exciting is that..congratulations
This is great grand number 16
Wow, lucky you
Congratulations on the new baby!! She is beautiful as is the name.
Nice seeing you post Debbie, how are things going?
Going to run into town, gab in a bit!
Congratulations Karen on # 16 great grandbaby. Lovely choice of name.
Would imagine Clara Cecile will not be able to make the family reunion, nor her mom and dad...
Went to town, got what I needed to continue my Canada blocks, picked up Kentucky fried chicken, (waiting for me to have a bath then settle in for a meal) got the front yard grass cut..ditches will have to wait until tomorrow..deadheaded and cleaned up those plants that were given to me..only one Karen is the rich red Marion, others closer to red with tinge of orange..now I snapped off all leaves that looked as through they may have been burnt a bit, that should help right..have some plant food, tomorrow will give them a treat..found a place to set them Sooo think I've done enough for the night..
Greg called, he will be over in a bit for his pie then I will make myself comfy..into bed and play some computer games..
Life isn't too interesting is it?
Wow, what a beautiful baby .. and, she carries my Aunt's name .. Aunt Clara ..
Putzing around here, looking for a wagon, a kids wagon, so I can pull watering cans around .. seems kind of counter productive to use the Mule .. I hadn't realized I had put the bike so far down the driveway .. not a big hike down there, but, I won't do it unless someone is here as it's by some tall grass and the bear (s) like the stuff ..
Lorna had an exciting day .. a big crane came in to move a crypt .. because of the rain, the crane SUNK into the grounds, and, they had to call another crane to get it out .. all in all, the crypt .. granite, made it .. whew !!
Those butter tarts are making me weak in the knees LoL
BTW .. Lorna is getting a full refund on the walker .. woot woot .. the cost of return to Sweden is NUTS !!!
TTFN
~M~
Great news "M", pays to keep on them..is it enough to pay for the one she just bought...
I had an Aunt also called Clara, well they called her that but I think real name was Cleracy..isn't she a doll..can see Karen smiling from ear to ear.
I would have thought "M" you would put that bile closer to the house so you could enjoy it's beauty..I sure would have. I have a mini bike with side baskets..I should pull it out of the tall flowers and fill the baskets and put it where it can be seen.,don't think right now I can even see the handles..wagon would be a terrible idea..I'm going to look for a to again so that when snow comes and I want to decorate the house for Xmas I won't have to carry the totes, maybe even a wagon like you seeing as we've not had snow past few years that a wagon couldn't do..Ahhh must start looking at garage sales..
At first when I read about the crane I was thinking 'bird' lol
Thankfully no damage..how are Lorna's flowers doing? Must be a full time job just in the watering..major work and clean up should now be done?
I was think bird too. Wow, glad there was no damage to the crypt.
You haven't said how you are feeling of late Lindakay? Is the heat as bad, still stuck in the house?
Must make note to self, next time you buy Kentucky fried make sure you buy a second one for Missy, had to share, not left for me lol
Greg just left, cursing, bought a new bbq'ing Monday, needed conversion kit to add direct to gas line, kit doesn't have right screwdriver..found something in my tools so he went off babbling..
I was chuckling about Greg Betty. Don't tell him I was laughing at him. Yesterday Steve went to do something and he went downstairs and got 2 screwdrivers, neither would work so grumbling all the way down and all the way up he went. I am sure there were a few blue words in all that grumbling. He said if this doesn't work I will make it work somehow. The look on his face was priceless.
We've had a couple hours of a good rain for the gardens. It was well needed.
There was a great mystery to be solved this morning here. I could not find my sports bra that I wear when I work outside. I searched everywhere... drawers, linen closet, my closet . It could not be found. I asked my cleaning lady to keep an eye out for it. Much later I heard her yell Found it. It was hanging on the door knob on the inside of my closet. I want to say I have never hung anything there but obviously I have.
M you might find a wagon at a garage sale or as Warren used to call them garbage sales. Maybe you could get your herd to pull the wagon.. I thought of you today ... I saw in the Bits and Pieces catalogue a bicycle much like yours on a much smaller scale that a Mosquito coil could hang from.
When is your DS coming LK?
Hope to BBL
Dianne and her TH
104 this afternoon, if I go out it is early morning.
I am feeling fine. No hives for awhile. :)
Oh my Lindakay, your dad is looking younger..looks healthy indeed..Lordy what are they feeding the clematis..glad to hear you are feeling better, you've been through a lot.
Dianne, he came back, screw driver wouldn't work, needed a grinder to narro it, lucky his mom is a tool lady. Lol, hasn't been back so imagine he got it working...men!!
So funny about the bra, bet you thought the TH had it right?
Came to bed, not tired, keyed in Newfoundland chat, thought it would bring me to people talking about things going on in Newfoundland, nope some dating service, got out of there...then keyed in music of Newfoundland and of course it brings you here, there and everywhere..listened to one sone that the graphics were spectacular, thought I'd share but must tell you, I got sentimental, thought about my grannie and there went some tears

Dianne - while this is not Chaos, this is a similar picture of what the Chaos we saw looked like - Very Big. He sat at my feet, and their Bella was a Pug / Dobie cross and she doesn't like people much, only dogs.
When we went to their place, she'd put both dogs out in the yard, and we could see them at the glass door, begging to come in. Bob said "let them in - we like dogs" and I said, "yes, let them in". They bounded in, and Chaos went right to one then the other of us, and Bella just kept running around and barking. (Just don't touch Chao's ears I found out - Bella bites them, and he's got sensitive ears!). He'd just had to have knee surgery and that slowed him down a bit. He was as gentle as a lamb around me (laid at my feet) and curious as all heck around Bob - kept checking out Bob's tools & such when he was disassembling the desk we were picking up.
Karen - family reunions are so much fun - I can sense your excitement - and with a new baby great granddaughter!
Betty - who cleans up the mess from left out garbage? I suspect each homeowner, correct?
Those begonias are lovely! Red's my fav colour, too
Bob & I just went to SW Calgary - picked up 100sq ft of brand new parquet flooring for $80!! (seller sold on Kijiji! I love that site, for free & cheap!!) It'll replace the damaged flooring in our hallway & entrance, with some to spare!! Likely put some around the kitchen counter overhang, too.
Laughing at the missing bra Dianne.
My son and family will be here Sunday and Monday. Go back home Tuesday.
I bought a bunch of rubber bands and watermelon for the kids to see how long it will take for the watermelon to pop.
lol Dianne & Betty - this grumble-fest sounds like my Bob - he can't find his Makita tool pieces - they're packed "somewhere". He packed them, then the fellows helping us put them "somewhere" and darned if Bob can find them......
He's always making the air blue when it comes to finding tools and parts..... says he walks right by them (almost trips over them) so often, but of course when he wants them, can't find them LOL
btw - DG renewed my membership, so I'm good until next July 9th/2017!
Hooray - I won't lose you!!!
Susan that is my Diesel looking at me ! Yep that's true Rottie. Chaos has a smaller head than Dies.. I think at some point in Chaos' background there was a Lab. Also Chaos still needs a face lift. He is just the happiest dog I have ever seen.
So LK tell me what the kids do with the rubber bands and watermelon ? When I was in high school the guys would get some large horse needles and shoot vodka into the watermelon. Boy they thought they were so cool.lol
Started 1 of the books on the Black Donnellys. M and Betty do you remember anything about them ? They weren't exactly the most upright citizens in Ontario. I was interested in how when they emigrated from Ireland they acquired their land. When my mom's family emigrated from Wales they were placed on a farm near Princeton Ont They had no say where they would go.. My grandfather was a coal farmer and my grandmother was a school teacher. Took them a long time to adjust to farm living.
Darn I was so tired awhile ago and now I am wide awake. Looking for Sharon's sleep angels.

This is what they do with rubberbands and watermelons.
Neato LK.
Ok, so this lady's dog Chaos looks like your Diesel - how funny is that?!?!?!
Well, our hot tub is fixed (not the lid, but the drain tap is replaced) and it's heated to 103F - wooooo hoooooo looking forward to sitting in it for the first time since May 2015!
Surprise I also had an Aunt Clara. Actually she was my great aunt and I was very fond of her, spent a lot of time visiting and staying overnight.
No miss Clara is not scheduled to put in an appearance at the reunion. Mom is in the medical profession and she will be kept away from public for a while.
Dianne - I remember reading the book The Black Donnellys.
Here's some history on them - http://www.donnellys.com/History.html
Good morning ..
OHMIGOSH LK .. that Clematis is just gorgeous .. makes me want to try to grow one for the 4th time ..
Your Dad looks well too :-)
Hahaha .. Garbage sales for sure .. seems I never have the time, nor, the inclination to go out early on a Saturday morning .. AND, I am sorely afeared that EVRYONES garbage will become MINE .. I have NO restraint LoL
Had thought of putting the bike closer, but, I wanted others to be able to see it as well .. I still think it isn't in its final home .. but, now the Ivy and sweet potato vine is growing ,so, will have to be very careful when we do move it ..
Lorna's old Chev Cavalier (1998) goes bye bye today .. she'll get a charitable donation receipt for it, I think $600. .. hope it helps her at tax time ..
She will get the full $1000. back for the walker .. help pay off the new one :-)
The crane episode is in pics on Lorna's cell .. I'll share once they are downloaded.
yep .. flowers are planted and doing well .. I think 25 flats, plus perennials ..
Now she is watering, pruning and weeding .. hard work ..
Off for groceries earlty, then home to see the car go ..
BBL

Your Dad looks wonderful LK. And the clematis isn't bad either!!!
A wagon would be great for both of you "M" and Betty. You both have a lot of area to cover.
Glad you got your bra Dianne. Maybe need to buy a backup. Or would that be a frontup?
I finally got the blocks completed for my new quilt. It seemed to take forever since my back only lets me sew for a couple of hours at a time. Anyway here it is.....
Love the illusion of curves.
Spectacular Barb..bet you are thrilled with it..
Got up at eight, started to wTer the lawns as the rain missed us yesterday, calling for rain tomorrow and Friday but not taking a chance, would hate to lose the sod, besides seed needs dampening..always something.
Suzanne dropped in for a visit, she had been for her blood tests, providing all comes back good she can go on the trip..sure hope she has a yes or no soon as we. Likely would revert to out USA trip if she doesn't go.
Gabbed with mom last night, she played around with what she is doing for the weekend, not sure she wasn't hinting about coming and spending the weekend, told her before be upfront, say you want to come not hint so left it be..if she wants to come then just come..other than Saturday I've no plans..party on the lake at Paul's Saturday afternoon/evening.
I said I was working on my block, she commented on how her quilt would likely be the last to be done soooo I'm putting spher quilt in the frame, hoping to have enough batting..give it a good go and get ur done. Lol
"m" let's hope Lorna doesn't have to wait forever for the refund. I'm much like you, who knows what else would come home with me other than the wagon when going to lawn sales.
Susan, good news re membership..how did your hot tub time go? Feel relaxed and like new..
Back to the grind, Here is hoping I have batting
Barb, that is beautiful!
"M", and Betty, if you have a home depot near you check these out. I bought one a few weeks ago, and I really like it. It opens so you can place items inside, and you can also sit on it when needed.

LK - your dad & clemantis look great! Are all the grounds covered in flowers like that? It must be a happy place for residents to live, if that's the case :-D
It's nice to be able to stay on DG, thanks to the admin here. Y'know what they say, if you don't ask you won't know if you can........
Susan, 'ask and YE shall receive' right
Thanks for the link Lindakay, really, it's more the sleigh I need, have a wagon that gets attached to rider, should do me, just another think to store right?
Well, had enough batting, likely enough for a couple more quilts, means a trip to Joann's soon lol. Mom's cross stitch is on the frame, now to start quilting
yes indeed, Betty - and now I won't lose my friends here - very happy about that
Susan I thought of you and Bob when I was flipping channels to see if there was anything on tonight worth watching. The is a show on Spike Tv and is called Bad Tenants. Glad you are ready to join us without a fuss with your membership.
Went into Ktown this morning. Our WM opens at 7 am which is great for me. I was a little irked that Loblaws and a price match at WM for a 24 case of Nestle water for less than $2.00. Not a case to be found in either store.
My back is giving me fits today. I was going to come home and weed. Nope not happening.
Oh LK your dad looks great as does the clematis. Do your grands understand the have a Great Grand Father ?
