Yes. Most of them met him when I had him here.

I'm ready to forget we ever had tenants...........
Talked to a lawyer yesterday, and they're re-sending the Demand Letter to them. Last one, they hadn't forwarded their mail, so it came to us. Now I think they have put in a change of address, so I asked the lawyer to send again.
Found more damage - the hot tub - they took out the vents, and hammered them into the lid. No wonder the lid is full of water and weighs a ton (like a big block of cement).
Ah well, we keep repairing.... 6 weeks, and we're Outta Here.
No dealing with tenants, and none of the current residents who believe that they're angels and we're bad people who turned on these poor innocents LOL

Moving on with life - God knows us, and I'm content with that.

We are in the midst of a BIG TStorm, so, should boodle ..

Got the wagon .. another firefighter has one and will bring it this week .. YAY .. no getting out the ATV and hooking up a trailer ..

LOVE the quilt Betty .. lots of work !!

BOOM

Gone

Marilynne - hope you're safe in thisTStorm!

Well, been off for 2 days again. Can't seem to catch up. Just wanted to tell you that I use Absorbine Jr for any bites or stings and it works great for me. My DH was in the USMC for 20 years and this is what he used when out in the field. Going to catch up on the other threads I watch.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Starting my morning with STARDUST :-) the song .. every morning I put the music channel on 909 .. Easy Listening, stays there all day .. 100% instrumental .. awesome .. we call it ,'the dogs channel' .. they seem to like it .. Lilly especially ..

The storm was a pea cracker !! The dishes in the china cabinet were shaking during some of the extra huge and noisy BOOMS .. poor dogs were not happy .. come to think of it, neither were the humans LoL
I don't think WI where DH is, got it ..

Liz, I had heard that somewhere .. will have to grab a bottle ..

Not sure what's up today .. the ever popular yard work seems to pop into my mind ..
I think perhaps Brian might deliver the wagon .. he has band practice at sometime .. he's the Pipe Major in one of our local Pipe Bands .. he and his wife are great people ..

We just use regular Listerine. Be careful with the Absorbine Jr, it contains wormwood which is Thujone and can cause lot of issues if too much is absorbed through the skin. Seizures, sleeplessness, dizziness, vomiting, tremors are some of the side effects.

I didn't realize that some of the rub on pain relievers contain aspirin and couldn't understand why I was having bleeding issues - I was overdosing on aspirin by taking it orally and through the rub on!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Terri .. you're so correct .. VOLTAREN is one of them ..

LAZEE day .. overcast and humid and, the blasted blackflies and mosquitoes are horrific, so, inside I stay !!!!

~M~

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

aspirin in rub-ons? Wow, who'da thunk it?!?!?!
I'll have to be careful too!

Ladies - have a beautiful day! Bob & I are heading out of town to get some flooring - not far, and not expensive - to replace what we have in our bathroom (new tiles cracked by the tenants). 11x 14 (looks like tile) for $80!! woooo hooooooo good price!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Susan, are your ex tenants paying you back for all the damages?

Victoria Harbour, ON

What a gorgeous day..glad I watered because it looks like the rain missed us again..calling for thunderstorms tomorrow, wouldn't you know they will be correct with that prediction as mega events taking place in midland.

Voltaren helps though but then I don't worry as I don't take aspirin.

Susan that is a deal, will spruce the place up, give you a lift.

I got a lift today, Kyle brought me lunch, we sat and chatted then off to work he went and I went back to quilting?another run and I'll be half way done

Saw the great ads on Joann's, do need supplies..was thinking of getting up a 5 am and going for the day, doubtful though, don't know if I've that much energy.

Look at the $$$ I could spend to save money lol

Bedford, VA(Zone 7a)

As long as you don't cover 40% or more of your body with the rub on, and aren't taking the same thing by another method you should be okay. A friend of mine lost her daughter who was an athlete that way, the girl used some sort of pain reliever rub on after a competition on her legs, along with pain pads and absorbed an overdose:

I have the wagon :-)
Pic attached ...

What a storm !!! Betty, doubtless you'll be getting it, sorry .. you won't have to water ..
Nice to have had lunch with Kyle :-)

Terri, buyer beware re any OTC meds ..

Good luck with the flooring Susan ..

Sun is coming out .. betcha it's gona be hot .. Lorna came home, gardens and property is too wet to work on ..

Best boogie

Love the wagon "M".

Victoria Harbour, ON

Don't want the bing bang "M"
Looks antique, nice enough to make garden art..
No wonder I never have working pieces, always make them into garden art lol

Going to read your link Terri

well it's 2:30 a dim almost at the 3/4 mark, if I give myself yet another push just might get it off the frame tonight. Drats, mom must have pricked her finger and a dab of blood right in the centre piece..will try oxyclean once it's off the frame.

Took spaghetti sauce out of the freezer this morning so other than cooking spaghetti be suppers I should be able to easily finish it.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

A bit of peroxide on a Q-Tip should take care of it. I've also had good luck with a Clorox Bleach Pen. Amelia got a spot of Beet juice on a pink dress and after many washings and treatments it was still there until I tried the bleach pen. It didn't hurt the dress color either.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

LK - a Demand Letter is going out to our former tenants, for the sum of $2300+. The last month's rent & Damage Deposit cancel each other out, cuz they didn't pay the rent and we're not returning the DD. However, the damage caused beyond normal wear & tear is the $2300+, and they won't have gotten the letter yet. I hope they Do get it - the last time it was sent out, they hadn't put in for a change of address. I think they have now, because we aren't getting their mail anymore. They were originally given 3 keys to the Community Mailbox and only returned 2, so I think they were going to retrieve their mail using the 3rd key. I got an email June 21 asking "do you have any post for us", but I never replied. I've been returning "moved, address unknown" all their mail. I posted on the Neighbours Helping Neighbours FB page about people needing to put in change of address...... I hope they took the "hint" and did it. Sure wasn't going to let them go through our mail to retrieve theirs!! The PO changed the locks & gave us new keys when we moved in - standard policy.
Here's hoping they get the letter and take care of their responsibilities. Our lawyer said we could pay for a skip tracer (about $100 to $200) and chase them down - we don't have their address, but know who does (not our friends anymore).
If they don't take responsibility, God knows the truth, and we're content with that.
btw - the lino we picked up today is beautiful! Better than we expected. It will cover the bathroom (have to tear out the ceramic tiling we put in June 2015 because they broke 3 tiles), and the new porch, and then some.....!! 11ft x 14ft
The parquet flooring will cover the hallway, and the kitchen, but not sure about the dining room - it's better quality than the original parquet, and noticeably darker, but sooooo nice.
So, for $160 we have bathroom, porch, hallway, kitchen, plus, for flooring - not bad, eh?
We're going to Habitat's ReStore for some cork flooring for under the lino in the bathroom - it'll be much warmer. That will be about $30 for enough to do the bathoom (6x8ft approx), so actually $190 for all. Not bad, eh? The current parquet was also water damaged.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear there was so much damage.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all,

Susan, bargains for sure..you will have to post before/after photo's

Finally calling quilting to end, was at it all day, just finished last row, in the morning I'll go through to see what I can do to the hearts she added on then it's binding time..too funny, she just called, she was at Bernie's for the day, guess he showed her my post on Facebook, nice brother right? Lol. She said I told you there was no hurry...I said needed to get it done and not sit on the frame..hope she is satisfied with it.

Karen, I will try the pen but it's an old stain.. always think peroxide would stain!

Spaghetti is ready, best I get a move on

Betty, stain I used it on was an old one too. At first it didn't work but I decided the bleach pen was old. Bought a new one and it took it right off.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

The more the time goes, the more good luck we are having towards our move. I said before that I felt this was "right" and it sure IS!
Today, tooling through the "free" stuff on Kijiji.ca, I found a 10 ft x 12 ft metal shed, and it's from someone here, in the Park. They moved last weekend and want to get rid of it! Can just walk over lol Bob says the pieces can fit in my car, they're so narrow. So, we'll tear down our heavy wooden ones, take whatever lumber's salvageable for our new place and put up the new one! So much better to have this one, than the two old ones! Just need to change out the floor boards :-)

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Boy, I'm gabby lately LOL
btw - did I mention that the lino is prettier than I thought? It's a "stone look".... like pebbled tile.
Besides everything else, we have control over our home and that's a good feeling!
Our tenants had presumed that we were going to "have the Mayor destroy the place". Little do they know lol
As my daughter Michelle said "they don't own their own home, and likely never will". Don't know about that, but I do know that we Do own ours, and it's a good feeling.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Happy birthday to Laurel ++happiness STAT :-)

Great deal on the shed Susan .. will you take it with you as opposed to putting it up where you are ?

HAPPY CANADA DAY to all the Canadians ..

Not sure what today will bring .. Lorna was in high gear yesterday planting flower pots, lawsie, I have LOTS ..
I know a BBQ is in the works .. there will be five .. Lorna and myself and 3 dogs LoL
Fingers crossed NO fireworks nearby ..

I hope everyone is well

Enjoy your day ..

Happy Canada Day as well to my Canadian friends!
Light rain falling, says its 66 but I think they are wrong..just put the heat on, was working downstairs and fingers are numb..its brrrrr. Maybe more the dampness..

Sure put a damper on town festivities, the vendors in little lake park will have a hard time of it..

Likely fireworks tonight, poor sailor like your dogs "m" and Dianne was terrified of them.

Will call to see if the Chinese restaurant is open today, if so I will go into town and pick some up, regardless I won't be cooking, am sure some restaurant it is.. lol

Hope you all enjoy your day..

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

ANNNNND we're off for our fabulous, fun, family, week-end. They are already arriving so it will be more than a one day celebration. I'll post pics as soon as I can.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Quiet fireworks - great idea!!
One town in Italy, Collecchio, passed a law in 2015 that all fireworks displays must be quiet.
By relying on rich color effects and tight visual choreography, designers of quiet fireworks programs can forgo the big explosions and still deliver a stunning show. The hope is that softer celebrations mean less stress for noise-sensitive children, veterans, older people, pets and wildlife.
http://www.mentalfloss.com/article/73441/quiet-fireworks-kinder-gentler-way-celebrate

Yes, Marilynne - we'll assemble it at our new place - a good way to store our construction materials beforehand.
Good Betty - dining out is nicer :-D
Our neighbours have their moving truck there today, so they'll be gone, and our former tenants won't be coming by to visit them.
6 more weeks, and we're gone too!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

Evening all, time to call it a night, well, almost! Am sure there will be some bing bang going on in a bit.

Went to town, Sooo busy at Walmart and grocery store..bitter cold and rain so guess all decided to spend the day shopping.

Our holiday is over, most of you just starting yours..enjoy
We know Karen is on her way to her family reunion, exciting, how about the rest of you?

I finished moms quilt, in the washer..will dry it then it's Beddy byes

Gorgeous, Betty!!!

Morning all,

Sunshine this morning, calling for high of 68, had called for thunderstorms but see weather has changed and its missed us...Jeff will be pleased as he is kayaking in Georgian bay, he should have a great day today as it seems the winds have left as well..

Bit of housework to do, thought I might take a run to cookstown, about 75 miles away to a fabric shop and antique shops, not sure lol

Invited to my BIL Paul's for Canada day celebrations..he bought my dad's home on the lake so always brings back memories, we will see

As you can tell, not sure of anything today. Lol.

Lindakay I used the tide pen, helped a tad, you would have to search for the blood stain, I also quilted through it so now that it's washed and has texture it can't be seen.

Think I will put the wedding quilt on the frMe and take my time quilting it..no close quilting..starting to get mega quilt tops ahead of myself so best I start quilting

Other than that not much happening

What are you all doing?

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Good morning :-)

Betty the quilt is gorgeous. I used to cross stitch, so know how much work went into all that .. a keepsake like no other :-)

ONE bang here last night, then, nothing, and, after the events of the night I am wondering if THAT bang was a gun.
Dogs had me up at 4am .. went out then as I settled back to sleep around 4:20am .. I heard the most blood curdling screams .. I just laid still .. Lorna's room is across the hall and down, and, she sleeps with ear plugs, so, I just kinda didn't move .. all the dogs are with me .. and, all 3 were doing a low growl ..
So .. about 4:40 I felt myself falling back to sleep, and, the screams again !!
Ran an wakened Lorna, and, darned if the screams hadn't stopped ..
It was either, a wolf, coyote or fox .. maybe even a bear .. just hope it wasn't woiunded !!
Nothing since then ..

I think we are off to Walmart for some groceries .. maybe breakfast out somewhere.

Back later, enjoy your day

~M~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Oh goodness "M". I think I would have called the police hearing something like that.

Getting ready for my youngest to arrive tomorrow. Gonna run to get a few groceries this morning.
I have 4 boxes of these balloons for the kids, plus the watermelon and rubber bands. I think that will keep them busy.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Will be fun Lindakay..kids love participating!

Drats ace wrong choice today, decided to go to Orillia vs cookstown, 1/2 distance
What a waste of time, half the supplies and double the price..bought a ew things but did not get what I went for

Not the nicest out there, usually sit outside ear the lake at Paul's so best I go in search of warm clothes and bring a blankie

Verona, ON

It's a lovely fall day here. Not sure if we are supposed to get rain or not but the sky looks a tad threatening

Went into the village before it got too busy. Got home and checked out my emails.Amazon had delivered Thursday something I ordered Wed.So I had to get back into the village PO. The PO closes at noon .... I got there at about 2 min before noon. I bought a magnifing reading lamp. I hope it will help me when I read at night.

Betty beautiful quilt. Lots of holiday people in your area ? My hearts aches for all of those people involved with that wreck on the 400 the other night. When we were looking for a cottage I told Warren I would go anywhere as long as I didn't have to drive on the 400.

Took some rhubarb to a friend yesterday and she just called and wanted me to come up to have a piece of pie.

All 3 of the TH are very quiet today for some reason. We had a lot of T & L last night. That ended just in time for the fireworks to start up. Some were still going strong at midnight. Duke did quite well. At the first bit if fireworks started he jumped up and put his head under my tee shirt and just laid there quietly.

Enjoy your weekend everyone
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Was a terrible wreck Dianne, they've done wonders in expanding the 400 north, it's the people rumps hint about trying to get somewhere 5 minutes sooner..don't like travelling it on a long weekend.

Lots of tourists in my region, wouldn't have thought so with the weather being as it is but they still come.

Had a lovely afternoon and supper at Paul's
Wasn't cool till 6 so decided not to stay for the fire but to come home..need my rest as I'm off to help my brother Bernie, he has so much to pack up for his move on the 22nd..always loads of people to partybutwhere are they when you need help..I will do the best I can to help,,should be staying home and working outside, lots needs done.

Bob's saying that animals don't scream...... I don't know, but I think I would have called the police...
Dianne - a rhubarb pie? yumm my mother used to make a rhubarb custard pie and I loved it! Not so much the straight rhubarb though, and Bob loves the strawberry rhubarb pies. He doesn't like the rhubarb custard pies, so we don't have any. Oh well

It was a crazy busy day today. We'd gotten a metal shed yesterday and Bob & helper took some of it down and finished the rest - took it to Torrington. I went to my dr's for meds refill and when I came home, I unlocked the outside door and when trying to unlock the inside, I didn't have a key. Bob was on his way to Torrington, so it was almost 2 hours. Of course the alarm went off, and again when I got a chair to bring in to sit (not going to stand for that long!) I had to scream through the door to the person on the Security side so they didn't send the police.
When Bob came home, I called out "only come in if you have the key to the doorknob. He thought he did, alarm went off - he didn't have the key.
He got a ladder and went in through the window - of course by then the operator was on the line yelling (they think we're all deaf) and asked me what was wrong and if I was ok. Assured her we were fine. At least I had a chair to sit in, in the porch.....

Got some BEAUTIFUL paneling this morning, for our den (when we build it) for FREE from kijiji.ca It may only be a feature wall, but it will be gorgeous. Can hardly wait.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Actually, the operator wasn't yelling - they have the sound set that high. I plugged my ears and heard her normally. Even our helper was standing outside of the porch while I was inside the house and he was thinking it was loud!!
Anyway, I'm glad Bob has ladders and can shimmy into the house through a window..... And he eventually found the right key. I thought all the locks were new, but not the inside door. We keep the outside door locked when we're away, and don't lock the inside one. Don't know how it got locked.

Our new landlord is so nice - said we could set up the metal shed anytime, and put stuff in it. Said it's 100sq ft and that meets the requirements of the county, so we wouldn't need to put an add-on to the mobile lol We need the extra Living Space anyway. Where else would we put our computers & my sewing area?!?!?! LOL
