Enjoy the snow (not) :-)
At least it won't stay ..

Home from the docs, very sunny here .. tempted to wash some blouses and put them on the line .. thing is, I'd have stand in about 3 feet of snow to hang them out

Prayers as always ..

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I sure hope it gets warm for all of you up north soon.

Betty, how are you doing?

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Thanks LK .. things are actually better with the weather .. loads of sun .. it's the darned WIND that knocks us down .. and, of course, we have snow to get rid of .. it's going, albeit slowly ..

Was wondering about Betty as well .. I wonder if her being ill will put the kybosh on her trip to Florida? I think she leaves April 1 ..

LK,how are you doing .. kind of amazing huh .. I was amazed that I had forgotten what 'feelin normal', felt like ..

One dog, Zoey, to the groomer tomorrow .. Lorna went for another fitting for her leg today, still some tweaking to be done ..

I feel awesome. Not having pain with every step feels good. Tomorrow I start out patient therapy to continue going strength back in my thigh. My wound is completely healed, and you can hardly see the scar.

Susan got home, safe & sound. She starts work at 2pm, and gets home about midnight. She got some sleep on the plane and again after she got home. She works in an auto-parts warehouse, and checks parts to see if they need repair/adjustment before being shipped out. Sometimes they are small parts and she hates that part. She's missing fingers off each hand, so it's more difficult on her hands those days. And of course rain & humidity bothers them too.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We are downstate, heading to TN tomorrow.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Safe travels Karen.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Save travels for sure Karen ..

I have a little video of Sharon on my FBook page .. her sister took it, and she's up, with a walker, motoring around the unit she is in at the hosp. Looks wonderful, and, is doing well :-)

My favourite part of post op LK, was being able to SLEEP and, not waken in pain !
Nice to hear you're doing so well :-)

Susan .. how are you doing ? And, Betty too ..

Waving hello to all ..

Off to the Groomers with Miss Zoey .. then brekkie with DH ..

Take care

Please pray for Jaye/Heavenscape. She had a stress test done yesterday, and they found problems with her heart. She has to go in for a catheterization today, to see whats wrong. Please pray to give her the strength and comfort she needs.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

I'm 'on it' ..LK
Hope all turns out well for her ..

~M~

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I've tried to call Jaye several times, but don't get an answer.

I'm doing better - had a sudden burst of energy last night. Started at 7pm and continued until I went to bed at midnight. Wowzers - standing up and bopping to the vinyl records I had on, then when I sat down I was chair dancing!! Wow - haven't felt so good for about a year. Felt Good To Feel Good for a change.........
Today I'm back to feeling dragged down, but not as much as I was.
I have my phone set for an alarm every hour on the hour, so I get up and moving. Do NOT want to go back to being sedentary. The depression I'd been feeling was very dragging, but the scare I got on the 9th was enough to make me move around. Besides which, feeling better makes me better able to "put up with the crap you're going through" as my dear daughter says.
Today I will have two visitors from Home Care. One, to assess my needs, and the other to give me a tummy injection to make up for my low warfarin levels.
After that, I have a visit with my GP to see about some other tests I had, to discuss the results. I hope they're ok - one of them is my epilepsy med levels, and the others are for "sample" results.

Susan .. I had the shots in the belly after my hip surgery .. ouch .. lil pinch ..
Be ready for the bruising ..
Seriously, not that bad, but ,like you, I am NO FAN of needles .. but these are small .

Hope someone hears from ..Jaye ..

Lotsa prayers being said today ..

~M~

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Home Care is coming today, to assess my needs and also a tech to give me my needle.
I have my cell phone set for an alarm, every hour on the hour, so I get up from my computer and keep mobile.
I've been getting up to do some ironing for the lap quilt I'm making, and going out to the yard for a wee walkie....... just trying to keep more active

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Update on Jaye.
She went in for her procedure, and was told to come back next week to a different hospital, as if she needs to have a stent put in place, they could not have done it today. So next week, she will have the procedure, and if she needs a stent they will do it then. Please keep her in your prayers?

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Will do LK

This lil Canadian is off to bed ... ANOTHER busy day tomorrow ..

~M~

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Always praying for our dear Jaye.

Today I went for results with my GP on my FIT test. Dr mentioned the C word and has asked me to get a hospital test (colonoscopy) and also an abdominal scan that I will call in to schedule.
Neither Bob nor I have had the courage to mention the "C" word since. He's hovering over me and I know we're both overwhelmed.......

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

MORNING ..

Susan .. in what context was the 'C' word mentioned .. I do know that docs are kind of asking that the scopes be done in women 55+ with any familial history of bowel cancer, or not. If the doc didn't get more specific, I wouldn't be too worried ..

Off to the hosp for the pre op VIDEO, Facetime/Skype meeting .. so happy Lorna will take us and drop us off .. don't have to worry about parking :-)

NO word from Brussels as of yet .. thanks for the Ts and Ps .. Judy, Rob's wife is confident they'll be fine, but, guarded too ..

Best get moving .. prayers for all in need

I had no idea that you were in hospital Betty!!! Sounds like you were dehydrated quite a bit. That scares me too and I walk around all day with my water. Are you having kidney troubles again? I have sent up special prayers for you to be much better soon. April 1 is still 9 days away so time to get better so you can go.....
Hugs dear friend.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear that Betty. Sometimes hospitals are the worse place to get rest.
Sending prayers for you and a speedy recovery.

Glenview, IL

Oh Betty!! My prayers going up for a speedy recovery. Also sending gentle, healing Armwraps.

M, oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to hear your nephew and family is there.
Prayers for all.

So smiling Linda kay, your driving and healing well.

Sue, oh my gosh, don't over do...

I was glad to see someone heard from Sharon, glad she is recovering well.

Well, Deb how about this crazy weather, sure hope we don't get snow.

Karen, hope your trip was wonderful.

OK, ALL last week...I worked on the veil sewed over 1000 beads whew very tedious, but smiling yay done! Julia came over and we went shopping for her shoes. She ended up getting a lacy wedge for the ceremony and a not so cheap, cheap pair of comfy shoe for the reception, another lacey shoe. They were very pretty but we decided to bedazzle them and sew I sewed beads on both pair of shoes...Not I will get to working on her shawl. Sure wish I had a fancy embroider machine. lol praying for an idea...
Keeping this place in shape and continue to deep clean, All has to be done by April 16 and kept that way till after the wedding. Oh and I am the gatherer of the Bridal day go bag! (emergency bag) lol, this is like packing a diaper bag, roflol.

In the meantime, I'm keeping track of the RSVP list and the bridal shower list!!
Wow this is one heck of a project this wedding. I am really having quite fun though and got to just say, Dang I'm right on schedule! Breenie and I got together to set the details for the shower...

Whew, yesterday finally got out in the yard...An overwhelming mess! Started to clean the deck pots and oh and my the aroma of soil just gave me a shot of gust!! Jake and I worked the entire day. After We walked and chattered on a few plans for a makeover. Deciding to pick a project and work it. He and I are rearranging the pathways. Needless to say, and let the Garden aerobics begin, and I was Exhausted, so much I actually slept in until 8 this morning! So, thought I would come say hi...HI.
Hope everyone has a good day...
I'm going to get some digging in, before it rains...or snows, lol

Sorry to hear you're in the hospital again, Betty. Hope you are doing better and don't need to cancel your trip.

Hoping this is call for more tests is just a precaution, Susan, and no need for worry.

Prayers all is well with your nephew, M.

You're such a busy one, Judy! I don't know how you do it.

Sounds like everyone is healing and doing well.

Just heard from the hotel we were supposed to stay at next week in Ohio. They had sprinkler damage in a section of the hotel, so I got bumped to another hotel 8 miles away. I'm NOT happy, but, what can I do? They said they would cover my first nights cost at the other hotel, and will give me vouchers for breakfast, lunch, dinner at the Max & Erma's restaurant at the hotel. So, I guess I'll save some money, but, I hate to leave the dogs in one hotel and go to the other for all the daily events. That means I can't run to the room and walk them at lunch time. Pups aren't used to being crated for that long!

Deb

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Judy, nice to hear from you! Geesh, you are just as busy as Betty, when she is feeling better. Always doing something.

Please post pictures of the veil and shoes when you can! They sound so pretty.

Deb. so sorry to hear you have to leave the dogs in a different place than where you are.

"M", glad to hear all is ok for his next eye appointment.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Awwww Deb, how disappointing for you, and ,I sure do hear you re not being in the same hotel as the dogs .. I'd be upset too.

Judy, Judy, Judy :-) you are just a lil spitfire .. sounds as though you are enjoying the preparations for the BIG event :-)
The veil and shoes sound lovely ..

Took the dogs for a short walk .. Gord had the girls and I had Piper .. been a bit since they have had a walk, so, there was lotsa sniffing going on because there was lots of bunny smells, and deer and fox .. .. only did maybe a quarter of a mile as my hip is NOT a big fan of walking long distances .. it complains, and, I LISTEN..

Spending the day with Lorna tomorrow .. shopping and lunch and some other stuff .. time to just CHILL..

My honey went to surgery for his second new hip today. Our hospital has a free standing orthopedic center. I stayed with him through pre-op. He went to the OR at 2 p.m., was in RR by 3:30 p.m., PT came at 4:30 p.m. and he was home by 6 p.m.. Two bowls of soup later he is sitting at the kitchen counter and does not want to be in bed. Physician friends have called to make social house calls. One road his bike across the city for a drop in but we were not yet home. He is a festively plump and a sight to behold in his "cyclesaurus" spandex outfit. My kids were here at the house and recovering from the shock of answering the door!

Sending best wishes for speedy recoveries. Betty, I know how you look forward to your spring flings in FL. Sure hope things work out.

Gotta go do patient care. Please get well All.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

BETTY!! omygoodgosh! I didn't know you were in the hospital - which one? Most hospitals have a Well Wishes page for people who can't visit to send messages. I'd love to send you one.
I do hope you're doing everything you can to get better, you dear, dear lady.

Marilynne - there is no history of bowel cancer in my family, but the Dr did see blood where he shouldn't have. He's concerned about my kidneys - "Patient had a blood test which revealed Raised GGT and CRP level". Should have been 35 and was over 300 he said. As a nurse, I know you'll understand this.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Laurel, that is amazing! Sending prayers for a speedy recovery.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

wow, Laurel - just re-read your post! Your hubby's doing really well for just having had hip replacement today!!!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Laurel .. amazing what can be done now .. as my surgeon said to me, I want my patients out in 3 days, the hospital is the worst place to be with a fresh incision'! Nosocomial infections are rampant in all health care institutions ..
Crikies, 4 hours from pre op to discharge is flipping amazing when you think about the scope of the surgery ..
I so hope he does well .. doin a visual here on the 'cyclesauraus'

Susan .. with your knees being as bothersome and inflamed as they are, I would expect your CRP to be elevated .. as for he GGT, I wouldn't speculate as there are multiple factors that could elevate it too, including your gall bladder ..
How'd the tummy shot go ?

LK good to hear you're crusin along :-)

Betty, we're all worried, please check in if you can ..

From Sharon's sister ..............

We brought my sister, Sharon, home from the hospital this afternoon. She went right to bed but she is very glad to be home. The care she received at St. Rose Dominican Hospital - San Martin campus was second to none. It is a very clean, quiet, caring, patient-oriented place for hospital care. I was so pleased with her treatment and her immediate progress. Dr. Nagy was the neurosurgeon that did the back surgery and Dr. Valera was her everyday doctor. Both are outstanding physicians. The nurses and nurses aides were top notch. We left feeling like we had made friends for life. Thank you to St. Rose for the outstanding care. Sharon is still recovering but I would estimate that in the next couple of weeks she will be busy keeping in touch with all her friends. Thank you for your prayers - they have certainly been answered

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Glad to hear she is home and resting. Sending prayers for a speedy recovery.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dropping in with a 'hi' from stormy Victoria harbour
So glad to hear everyone is on the mend

Laurel, omg out of the hospital so soon after hip surgery, unheard of..here is hoping that he continues as he has been doing, he must be one strong man...

Susan, you feeling better

Lindakay, want to hear you are at the jig stage..I smile as I think of those gentleman serenading us in the restaurant, merge the spot for you to be out laughing and trying that jig

Sharon, so nice to hear you are home, now healing begins

"m" days are ticking..likely you will be here for the Ford funeral, Toronto will be just a buzz

I got home at supper time last night, prior to getting home Jeff took me shopping and bought out the grocery store of no fat foods apin hopes I don't have another gallbladder attack, I'm all for that!!

I won't be doing Easter, Greg is away, Jeff has been up 3 days so he has to pick up Braedon at the airport, enjoy his company for a day or so then get him back on a plane to British Colombia for his last 6 weeks..Caleb is working so no sense them coming up

Kyle is going to Brianna's, Mel is off to Meaford and I well, might invite mom for the weekend or not..not is because she may come up mid week to spend the week I'm away IF I'm able to get away to Florida/South Carolina,North Carolina and the like so I will play this one day by day..

I'm sure my sewing machines are wondering what to heck is going on, I haven't been sewing in a few weeks..might go down later this aft and see what small project I can undertake

Just finished washing my bedding, will see if my last quilt fits my bed and what it looks like, mid ok maybe this weekend I will do 2 pillow shams

We will see

If I don't get back here is hoping you all get to enjoy a wonderful Easter with family/friends..remember don't eat all the chocolate the Easter bunny leaves!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty it is nice to hear from you. Did you have your gall bladder removed? Sounds like you have been in a lot of pain, and yes, the foods you eat will affect it very much! Please get some rest, and I pray you are feeling better soon.

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

Yes, the time for SO's surgical experience is nothing short of a miracle of modern medicine. Imagine in our parents' day. They'd probably be confined to a wheelchair if both hips went. Thankfully, and due to diligence, he is trim and fit. The surgeon's delay was due to complications with a morbidly obese patient. PT was here today and had him doing squats! He is up and down the stairs. He can shower. The only warning was to not overdue the time he is vertical and, of course, keep icing.

Betty, your sewing machines must be shedding tears without you. Watch out for rust!

Susan, Linda Kay, and others...hoping each day brings improvement.

Victoria Harbour, ON

No Lindakay I didn't have it out, unless more attacks he'd prefer that I eat healthy non fat foods and see the outcome, if needed it's a piece of cake, the attacks far far worse than the actual surgery. One of the first things the specialist asked was if I lost weight rapidly?? He said that sometimes can bring on attacks..yep 33lbs, he said that is losing it too quickly, told him I wasn't dieting at all, just lost it, hope it doesn't find me again.

Laurel, bet they can't quite believe it..wow, that just goes to show you the difference being fit is.. Thanks you for giving me an outburst of laughter, never thought of the rust 😂

Actually went downstairs and thought I'd do something but I looked around and came back to the couch.

Am surprised to see I'm hungry so doing chicken on the lean machine, a yam and some carrots for supper..got a magic marker and on much of what is in the refrigerator I made an "x". Not taking any chances..this vomiting your guts out about did me in..

Still freezing rain, I'm laying here thinking how lucky I am to be doing absolutely nothing with nowhere to go

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - so very glad you're home, and it's as simple as a gallbladder! Really, that is a simple thing, but if you can keep it going with proper foods, that would be better. Glad to hear you're home, and resting. The sewing machines can wait for a bit.
Betty, my Dr also asked if I'd lost weight rapidly.......... interesting concept that - and no, rather the opposite, sitting around getting "down" as I was.
And Betty - no more "piece of cake" lol non-fatty foods would not include that, sadly...

Marilynne - So Glad that Sharon's sister is doing well!

Wow Laurel - thank goodness for modern medicine - your hubby is testament to that! Good for him. You must be so happy, as is he!!

Marilynne - I had my gallbladder out about 40 years ago, so my issue is not that.
Interesting to hear that my knees could be causing the CRP to be elevated - bless you for offering that suggestion....... it's a thought to pass on to my Dr!
I've been a lot more mobile, and med staff are all happy about that

Bless you all and thank you for all your kind thoughts and prayers.
Prayers and gentle hugs to all in need :-)

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Well got this vacation off to a great start, clumsy me fell at the hotel and skinned the crap out of my knee and down my shin. Stings like the devil. Desk clerk called 911 who wanted to take me to the hospital. Had a hard time convincing them I just needed it bandaged. They did a real hack job of that lol. Then manager called me and asked if he could get me anything. I told him I just needed to know where a drugstore is so I can get some proper bandaging. He asked what I wanted and brought it to me. Oh and we got upgraded to a suite because our first room had a window broken out and smelled strongly of smoke. I fell when I was going down the stairs to the to the lobby to tell them about the room.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Karen .. I do so hope the fall doesn't set you back any .. those 'shin skins' are SO painful ... like a dragon breathing fire on ya ..
Please take good care ..

Susan .. it's Sharon herself who has had the back surgery .. her sister is helping her out. Sharon is doing very well ..

Betty .. gall bladder attacks are just awful, I had 3, and, after #4 out it came, I had 23 little stones .... they do it in a day now, I was in hospital for 5 days, and, I have a huge surgical scar .. now it's all done with scopes ..
Watching your diet will help, but, sometimes that little devil just has to be removed ..

Dianne .. are you under water/snow there? Hope you're OK

Waving hi to everyone .. hope you have a peaceful day ..

~M~

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I had my gall bladder out four years ago and it was a piece of cake. No big scars and out of the hospital the next day. I think they only kekpt me overnight because of my breathing. Glad you are home Betty and just follow the docs orders and yo will be okay with it.
Glad to hear Sharon is doing well.
Hope you are still having fun with family Karen. Those shin bangs are so painful.but they seem to heal quickly.
How are you doing Susan? Sound a bit busier than you were and that's good.
Chucklin' Laurel about the rust!!!
