I felt a bit when some of my staples came out but then I had 82. Nurse was great though would wait until I nodded I was ready on each one.

I see the surgeon Tuesday afternoon.

I will be thinking of you, at your surgeon's app't, LK - hope everything goes as you wish.

82 staples? yikes! Nice that she gave you time to relax to do the next one.

Up, but, awake ... NOPE .. this is the time change I try to stay on tack , but, really can't ..

Karen, I remember you saying you had lotsa staples .. most 'removers' will go slow and let you lead the way ..

Off to the Reserve for gas this morning .. at least I think so
DH is getting ready to go to the last day of the Sportsmans Show ..
He is a hurtin unit, still has PMR so moving around first thing in the morning is not easy for him ..

Sunny but on the chilly side here. Supposed to be pretty good today but then rain/showers all week long!!! Good week to stay in and sew, knit or play here......

Yes, we changed our clocks. What a pain. I wish everyone was like Arizona and leave the time change alone. But I do understand it makes for more daylight for some folks.

Kind of a lack lustre day ..
Was outside, but the wind has come up of the lake and it's downright chilly .. the dogs like it ..

Have another load of laundry on and a chicken in the oven .. and have played about 30 games of Scrabble .. made 42 points for ZEP LoL ..

LK here it'll be darker in the morning, but, lighter longer .. always nice in summer as it is light here til after 10pm ..

Marilyn - the only sights that GA Susan is seeing, is how our medical system works, and we are now living closer to the mtns so the view is lovely when you're out driving.

It looks like it should be warm out there but it is quite chilly. I don't have a fire going as it has been so nice but I know I will have to have a pancake fire in the morning.

Diesel the mayor of Verona decided yesterday to take his other councilman Duke up the lane to check out his kingdom of Storms Lane. The little brats wouldn't come back when called so I got in the Escape and started up the lane. Sure enough they were in the exact spot that Stormy and Quill used to run to on the lane. As soon as they saw the Escape the turned around and started back down the lane. It was my fault that Duke was able to tosh off with Diesel. It helps if you have both ends of the leash attached to something. lol Duke was on a 20 ft leash but managed not to get it caught up in the bushes.

Ice and snow banks are melting. Just makes me realize that even though I thought I had cleaned up after the dogs I didn't do as much as I thought.

Pretty dark here too M this morning.

LK how are you doing today? How is your pain level?

Karen when I had my knee replaced they sent me home with a small pair of pliers to take out the staples by myself. My DH had to go into the other room when I did it.

Ohhhh No left up to me, the staples would still be there.

Me too LK...I can't imagine them sending you home like that Dianne unless it was too far for a visiting nurse to come to you. I don't think I could do that to me or anyone else. I would be so afraid of hurting them.

Oh, my staples will stay put if I had to remove them. OUCH!

Pain level is good, until about an hour after therapy. So I take a vicodin when needed.

That would be a tough one to handle fer sure Dianne ..
I talked the rheumatologist into having the clinic nurse give me my shot .. I'm supposed to give it to myself, but, that isn't going to happen in my lifetime !

Off to see the prosthetist today .. Lorna gets a new leg .. hmmm .. sounds like it could be the title of a book LoL
Just hoping that everything works out ..

Quiet weekend for me, I really dislike the time change. Mid 40's and rain and drizzle all day yesterday, more of the same today.

Nothing but political commercials on the radio and tv. UGH! Our primary election is tomorrow, so the ads should stop after that, for a while.

Just planning, and looking forward to my trip to Ohio at the end of the month. So much to do before then.

NO LEG today .. but, it's in the works .. they fitted it and, it just needs some fine tuning .. Lorna is a bit disappointed, but ok ..

Spent some time out in the yard raking, but, it's really still too wet, but, it felt so good in the sun .. I just had on jeans and a TShirt ..

I see on FBook that Susan may go home tomorrow .. hope all is well for her back at the apt ..

Time change doesn't bother me too much. My days don't change that much so it really isn't different. Sure drove me crazy when I was working though....

We are off to see my surgeon for my follow up today. I will be back late this afternoon.

I will not be getting discharged today - they're doing an ultrasound on my bladder at 2pm, to see why I have so much blood in my urine. Initially they thought it was just blood clots from my lungs, but now they want to make sure. It stopped for awhile, but then got worse again, sooooooo............. ::
btw - I'm ok with staying an extra day - I want to be in better health before I go home

How'd ya make out LK .. did you get the staples out?

First apt was the rheumatologist .. good appointment, Gord is still tapering off the prednisone and will be for THREE more months .. powerful little drug that !
Anyway .. that appointment was at 9:30am, and, the Appointment with the GP was for 1150am !
LOoooooooooooong wait .. so, went for a walk and coffee in the fog ..
Came home and had had calls from Toronto re the surgery and paperwork .. good thing I know how to scan forms into emails !! ALl done now except for a video conference with the anaesthesiologist ..

I see Susan is still in hospital and having an ultra sound this aft ..

We are back home. No staples or stitches. he used super glue to close the wound. No more walker. I can use the cane, and put full weight as tolerable. Not too bad. No more ted hose, and I can take a shower with out covering the wound. He said I can drive, as soon as I can walk without the cane.

Hello everyone - I'm still kicking and doing alright. Needing lots of sleep, and sometimes I actually get it (in the hospital, y'know, it's not easy to sleep while you're having nurses, Drs, etc etc etc coming by - add visitors)
My ultrasound was clear, as per my nurse, and now it's up to my Dr & me as to whether I go home tomorrow. When I see him tomorrow morning, we'll make that determination.

Glad there were no staples, LK! So much easier on the body to have glue. How nice to be able to have a shower.

Marilynne - glad the rheumatoid app't was good. Did you go to see the GP? You didn't say how that went.

Re the cane .. it'll come, I used it basically for peace of mind .. and, sometimes in the winter here I will grab one of Lorna's and walk with it on the snow/ice .. security blanket :-)

GPs apt was good .. DH had a mini physical and the doc faxed that off to the Ophthalmologist in Toronto .. there was some paperwork here at home I was able to scan and send .. the marvels of computers !

Hope you get a definitive answer re discharge today, Susan ..

Weather liars have scored a resounding 0 on their storm prediction .. I actually went to bed nervous wondering how we were going to clear away 7-8" of snow !
Temp is 38F, and, we have wind ... the radar looks scary, and, I'm sure Karen has rain ..
Hoping for none until the new mattress is delivered ..

LK - my lungs aren't clear - still have lots of blood clots that are breaking down (and will, for at least 6 months).
The ultrasound was for my bladder & kidneys, to see why I had SO much blood in my urine, and the tests came back fine. I gather the only blood in my urine is from when the clots have broken down and are just waste blood.
My Dr will be in to see me this morning, and we'll discuss it. That's when I'll find out if they're giving me the boot from here.

I'm out breath just catching up here, lol think I'll take a nap now...giggling, just joshin.
Well I have certainly missed you all. As usual always in my thoughts and prayers.

Barbara my friend, I am cheering you and Norm to find a place that fill all your needs. I'm so sorry that you had such a scare, but wow, what a way to have a fire drill!..you know , I mean that only in good way. Thank God that turned out that way. Keeping fingers crossed. LOL, I know about packing some items too early, uh all to well!!! Little piece of advise: keep a packing list and then have a "last minute box" that will be the first thing you unpack, ...LOL, of curse craft room last..

...So life has been on a whirlwind. You know I was sick , still have the crud but hopefully at the end. M, For a couple days I just wanted to tear my eyeballs out..
Jacob has been on a Yard terror...eeek for the mess! LOL, I don't stop him cause he is on a roll. Looking good. One day I actually was able to help, it was really nice to have an outside fire! lots and lots to burn...Finally felt human on Friday, which was good. I had a cleaning job, great money and I am going back, probably for another 5 hours, whew the place is Gigantic!!
Also, it is official, wedding invitations went out last Thursday. LOL two whole days early...My girl's idea of being Bridezilla: Stomp foot stating how she wanted them out a couple weeks ago, stomp foot again. MOM: eye brow raise, is that your idea of a fit? Stomp foot again, yes! MOM, hahah ok there going out Thurdays, I'll even take them myself...ROFLOL, such drama. In meantime have been working on veil. So I have been searching for this trim haven't found what I happy with so one day, looking at this veil, when all the sudden answer staring me in the face! Decided to go ahead with what I'm thinking...Julia ended up loving it. However she has been in love with the idea beads being incorporated, Sew, I've been sewing beads for the last couple of days, first tier done. One day, I worked on the crown of Ribbon, since I could not find my trim, decided to create my own, it will go on last. Taking a break. This veil has be come such a fun project! (Julia said I could share my progress with ya) oh gosh, I'll be back with pictures!

Glad to hear you are on the mend, but don't over do it, or you will be back in bed.

Therapist was here this morning, and was working with me to help walk with no limp. Just a few more days and I think I will have it! I have one more day of home therapy, and next week, I drive to town for more vigorous therapy.

Checking to see if Susan got home this morning, remembered it's just after lunch in Calgary so still time be discharged

Wasted trip to the city, no sooner did we have lunch we had to leave, I vomited all the way home,just took 2 gravol, some applesauce and now in bed..I should have learned that solid food is not for me right now. Grrrr
