Prayers for LK

They are predicting "snow and blizzard like conditions" that were supposed to start at 6am today. So far, nothing, and it's in the upper 30's. Now the radio says it will start by noon. We'll see!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We are right on the edge of the storm area, could hit us or not.

Sitting in our quiet corner waiting on news of Linda.

Glenview, IL

Good Morning!
Praying for a smooth operation and recovery.

Verona, ON

The TH and I send positive thoughts and prayers for LK.

The storm has hit with a bang and is supposed to last 48 hours. Oh joy! I took the garbage out to the township road and it is very nasty on the lane. The snow has some ice pellets in it so it is very slippery even in 4 wheel. I had a parcel at the PO so ventured into the village. Both the township road and the road maintained by the Ont govt are down to 1 lane. No plows out at all. I can hear them across the lake when they are out. It is snowing so hard I can't even see across the lake.

I'm all set to stay in for a week if I have to.....pups have their treats stacked up and I have extra milk and bread. That little stinker of Duke is trying to get the door open where I put the treats. it is the 1 door in the house he hasn't been able to open yet.

Stay safe and warm everyone. Thanks for the cookies M.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Just poppin in .. thinking bout Linda ..
Today will snooze away, UNLESS, she has a surgeon who expects her to get up tonight and do a short walk .. Owww .. it hurts ..
They wouldn't give me the bedpan after night one, so, I HAD to get creative ..
I sincerely hope Linda is one of the ones that is almost 95% when she wakes up .. I think I was 75% and had to work my way up ..

Supposed to be sunny here, it's trying ..
JINKIES !! I just looked at the weather map .. OMG!!!
Dianne, you are going to get smacked along with BETTY !
gONNA WATCH THE WEATHER CHANNEL ..
Dam CAPS!
Karen, hope it stays away from you ..

Will come back in after a bit ..

Hi, I 'm here pacing the floors! lol not concentrating on too much other then Linda Kay.

Whew, OMG, sounds like winter is giving you all a last minute smack...So glad your all hunkered down. Please be careful if you have to go out. Supposed to hit here in a couple hours

Well, I am so bummed..no one else's fault but mine. I left Julia's veil out un attended and one of the bird decide to chew on it. I haven't even told Julia yet.
Oh well, I guess it wasn't meant to be.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sitting here being very quiet and hoping for news soon. I am happy to have a cookie "M" and I brought a few thermoses of coffee and tea.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Thought I'd check in on Lindakay
Omg Judy, any way you can go pick up another so you won't have to tell Julia??
Spoke to soon, blizzard a happening, drats would you know I have my bi-weekly dr's appt at 4
Hmm might have to cancel

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Popping in with this message,
got a call from Todd, and LK is doing fine.
Everything's okay and she's in recovery as I am typing.
The earliest she'd be discharged would be Friday.
Told Todd that she can't do the jig just yet!

Thank you for the prayers and the love you all have shown her.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. Therapist just left. She got me out of bed for a short walk. Now sitting in a chair for a bit. Waiting for a nurse to help me get dressed. Nurses kept telling me to use the morphine pump. So far I have no severe pain.
Thanks so much for all the thoughts and prayers.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

That's awesome Linda, must be a huge relief to you.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Pegi. It was a huge relief. When I first got out of bed last night, I thought I was still going to have lots of pain. When I stood up, the hip pain is gone.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Betty, can you make a new room for us please?

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

It is kinda 'magical' .. but, don't NOT use the drugs .. because, if the pain starts you'll have to play 'catch up', not easy to do ..
The dose of morphine likely isn't that great, and, I think they will take the pump away today and start with oral meds ..

So glad you are doing so well .. remember .. slow n easy wins the race :-)

~M~

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

wow - no hip pain, LK? That's awesome!! I agree with Marilynne - don't NOT take meds, cuz catch-up is difficult. Ask someone who's had many operations over the years....... my ex used to say that I had one every 3 years "whether you need it or not" lol yeah, I needed them, but he was teasing.

I'm looking forward to Susan coming - 14 more sleeps!
Have to shuffle stuff around in this tiny place - and we have a lot of packed boxes, cluttering it up.
So, de-clutter, AND decorate for Christmas........... yikes lol

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Take care doing the re arranging Susan ..

Well .. 'things' here are not good in the Gordon and his eye department :-(
We went for breakfast this morning, and, he informed me he is seeing double !!
He sees the Ophthalmologist tomorrow morning BRIGHT and EARLY ..
He is very upset ..

Hope you continue to improve LK .. squeeze those butt cheeks together LoL .. my favourite exercise until I just couldn't stand doing it anymore ..

Dianne and Betty . and, maybe Karen .. I do believe you're getting stormed upon ?

Sunny/windy here ..

Victoria Harbour, ON

Checking up on you Lindakay..amazing but then pain can't be worse than what you've been enduring..sad isn't it to have had to wait so long..don't rush things though, enjoy being pamperred

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I am taking care, Marilynne :-) Bob's here to make sure I don't over-do things.

We have gorgeous weather here - sunny, hardly any snow left, and warm 36F atm
I went out on the patio with just my pullover sweater and sweat pants, and slippers.
Gorgeous.
If you're having bad weather, Dianne, Betty, and Karen, wish I could pass some of this to you - it's not even breezy.... just very pleasant

Verona, ON

Just lost my post - my fault.

Wild and wicked weather - heavy snow, freezing rain, rain, thunder and then it started all over again. Just got my hydro back on so no reading by flashlight tonight.I am going to mark on my daily planner a reminder to charge up my portable DVD player.

Woo hoo LK!!
Dianne and her TH

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oh Dianne - sorry to hear about your wild & wicked weather, but SO glad to hear you got your hydro back!!! We never truly know what we're missing until we don't have it.....

Poor Gordon, to be suffering like that with his eye. I can well understand him being upset! I'm sure he doesn't like to be dependant upon anyone. Glad he's got an appointment Bright And Early!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending prayers for Gord. I know you're both worried.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We lucked out, snow missed us by a few miles, we just got a dusting.

"M" so sorry to hear of Gord's eye problems continuing.

Linda, you go girl.....but slowly.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

As always these past few mornings, I wonder how LK is doing ..
Hope the meals are good .. I know our hospitals here TRY to do a good job, but, one of the less than appetizing items is TOAST, and, I LOVE me toast :-)
With fig jam or cashew pnut butter .. which are both dwindling ..
But, as long as the coffee is hot .. I'm happy

Gord has decided to go to the doc on his own .. I'm not going to fight him .. after all, it IS Friday, and he had his Cronie things to do after with his buds ..
Haven't slept much .. seems I woke up praying and, fell asleep doing the same ..

Karen, glad the snow skipped ya .. and, thanks again for the name of that quilt .. my friend down east has a daughter in law who is going to attempt it :-)

+17 F .. not sure what kind of a day is in store ..

HI to everyone

Hugs

Verona, ON

Good morning.. Bitter cold here but the sky is clear. snow so the WLs say for tomorrow.

LK holding you close to my heart. Maybe Todd can sneak you in some decent food.Once when I was in hospital Warren brought me an ice cold Diet Pepsi... heaven. One can only drink so much water and juice..

Saying extra prayers for Gord and you M. You are the glue that holds you loved ones together.

The TH has been walked... they didn't want to go to far as it is -25C out there. Now I need to clean out the ashes and then I will either curl up if front of the woodstove or I might even go back to bed to room. That room is so cozy as it gets a lot of sun all day.

Highest praise for the Ont. Hydro workers. They get a lot of flack but they have always been excellent with me.. well except for 1 guy when I called in a power outage. He didn't even make a report so they guys didn't even know to come out. I would have baked them cookies yesterday except I didn't have any power.

Enjoy your day ladies. Healing thoughts for LK... you get to go home tomorrow.

Oh Judy huge hugs. Have you told your DD? Emotions run high at the best of times but put a wedding into the equation especially for the bride and WOW.

Keep warm and safe everyone.

Dianne and her TH

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Our hospital is one of the best around and has an excellent heart center, but the food..... horrid. It's something everyone agrees on. I ordered oatmeal one time and got a bowl of cold, grey, slimy something. If I feel like eating when there, hubby will bring me Chicken, lemon, rice, soup from our fav. Greek place or Egg drop soup from Chinese.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Prayers for Gord this morning. Hope the eye appointment has an answer.
Happy to read reports of little pain so far LK> Just do what they tell you and I'm sure you will do fine. Home already? Amazing.
Have Sean for a couple of days so trying to keep him busy. He is such a sweetheart.

Verona, ON

OOOps today is Friday, right? LK said she gets to go home on Friday ,hope things are on schedule for her. No better place to recoup than home.

Dread challenging the lane today but I need to get some Rxs in the village. They deliver (tongue in cheek here). The druggist is from Egypt and doesn't think too highly of our winters.Lane is pure ice with huge ruts. Doesn't look like it is going to warm up and melt a bit so I will put it in 4 wheel and venture off.

Aren't you blessed Barb that Sean still wants to spend time with his Grandma? How old is he now?

M will Gord call you after his doc's visit or will you have to wait until after his 'meeting' ? When is it you go back to TO?
Dianne and her TH

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Glad for Linda to be doing so well, Hope the ride home isn't too hard on her.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Karen, I had a 25 minute ride home, and was NOT impressed .. kinda owie .. I think LK has roads in better shape than the ones here .. Found putting a plastic bag (store bag) on the car seat made getting in and out MUCH easier ..

Getting frantic here as I haven't heard from DH, and, his cell is turned OFF ..
Heart is racing !
Dianne, no PLANNED trip back to TO .. he will not have the other eye done until the mish mash with this one is set right ..
That's not to say we may have to fly back ASAP if the doc here feels he needs to be seen by the special specialist ..
Take care driving .. those ice ruts are dangerous !!

Enjoy your grandson Barb .. haven't seen my DGKs since September :-(

Karen, that lemon Greek soup is wonderful stuff .. Avgolemeno :-)

Off to call again ..

Thanks for T&Ps

~M~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. I will leave here in the next hour or so. Going home today!!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Hooray, hooray, hooray - you're going home!! (likely home by the time I post this)

Temp is 55F and going to 61F, nice and sunny and wind only 10mph

Going for a nap - had excruciating pain in my knees and didn't get to sleep until 6am, and up at 10am. Not enough sleep for this gal.......

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

we got home about 5, and I was in bed by 7. Now wide awake.
