Knock, Knock, Knock ??
Wanted to add something to my post, but, I can't get in ??
GRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Best worse, what did I learn today, February 2016
Had to laugh "M", I used to call my oldest DGD "Tiny Tank". She travelled with us often and it seemed she was always asking us to stop so she could go. We always factored in extra time on the road with her.
I am back home, and going to take a nap.
Welcome back LK .. have a wonderful nap :-)
Plowing is done, now, the rain is starting to fall .. guess we might have to put up with some 'slip sliding away' ..
Tiny Tank be me Karen .. ruined my bladder being a nurse, sometimes wouldn't'go' for 12 hours .. thought it was great back then, but, NOW .. not so funny .. but, I do know where the nicest washroom in town are located :-)
~M~
Lighthouse is Nova Scotia, and I would guess the puffin is Newfoundland sp? or Quebec. Hubs says puffins are Nova Scotia, and Lighthouse is Prince Edward Island
Light house looks a lot like Quoddy Lighthouse in Maine. near Campobello, What province is that??
I love it!! would love to have patterns for those 2. are they available separately?
Interesting weather today. It was supposed to get to 62, I don't know if it made it, but it's at least in the upper 50's. Very high winds, gusts up to 60mph. Lights have flickered several times, but so far, staying on. Saw lots of electric company trucks at the street that goes into Judy's neighborhood. Hope she still has power!
Deb
Deb .. hope the wind has blown out and of for you, and, Judy .. scares me BIG wind ..
We got rain atop the snow, and, lots of it .. good thing (if there can be), is the temps stayed around 35F overnight ..
Looks like a bit more rain today too ..
Making the hamburger and potato casserole, and, set my laundry to come on at 6:30am .. it's doin its thang, and, I figure I'll have a coffee ..
Thunder I think Quebec would be the 'maple syrup' Province .. the McPuffin Nova Scotia, the Lighthouse, Prince Edward Island (PEI), and I can't get back to see the quilt for Newfoundland .. is there an iceberg on the quilt ?
Need Betty to let us know how we did :-)

Treacherous walking and driving out there. Everything is glare ice. The TH and I will not be walking today. They can play in the front of the house or on the deck.
About 50 wild turkeys were making their rounds yesterday. Much to the boys dismay they paraded by the house and down the lane. Some people feed them so I think they were checking out what to have for dinner.
M I got a roast and didn't faint dead away at the price.
Oscar Peterson bought a SG piece from us that featured puffins. Here I was trying to steer him to a stand alone puffin as he didn't look like he had 2 cents to rub together. I just about flipped when I saw the name on his cc. He is 1 of my favs, I think I have all of his DVDS,
When I went to Foodland on Fri. I also bought 1 bag of kindling. Some of my wood is wet and I need to give it a little boost every now and then. I didn't notice the fellow had put 2 bags of kindling in the Escape. I didn't know it until I got home..I went back in of Sat to pay for the second bag. I just couldn't keep it - I was shocked at how many people said don't say a word and keep it.
Been up for hours so think I will see what I will have for breakfast.
Enjoy your day ladies. Stay safe and warm everyone.
Dianne and her TH
Dianne I am afraid integrity has gone the way of most honesty now. I'm very proud of you!!! But not at all surprised...
Still haven't had breakfast. I've have fallen in love with a female Rotti. She is 14 weeks old and the family who got her realize they cannot train her. I never should have looked on Kijiji. She comes with her xtra large crate, bowls and toys. What to do,what to do?????
Sun is trying to come out. Sure hope so as that will help melt some snow. Much warmer than yesterday.
Dianne and TH
Good for you, Dianne, on paying for the extra. I agree - not too much integrity now a days
ummmm 3 males, and you want to add a female roti? Bob says "don't think about it, go for it!"........ would you have her spayed?
Susan I would have her spayed immediately. All my males are neutered. I am still torn.. I have the room, I have the love and another walking buddy would be wonderful.I am going to sleep on it. My only concern would be Duke but he took to Chaos immediately.
I thought today was Sunday. It wasn't until about an hour ago I realized it was Sat.
It warmed up and thawed a bit - that makes the lane even more treacherous as it will now freeze over night.
Going to try making the roast tomorrow M. I can't believe there is no water in the crock pot.
Sharon's sleep angels did not find me last night. I am ready for a nap but won't or I will never get to sleep tonight.
Dianne and TH
I pondering with you Dianne. Norm and I have talking about adopting another cat but we may be moving soon and I don't want to get one and then have an upheaval. We are looking into an apartment that is on the first floor with no stairs or one with an elevator. These legs of mine ain't what they used to be!!!!
EEEEEEEEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ..... yip yip yip ... Dianne, such a BIG decision, and I know how you feel ..
After I spoke with Angie 'Zoey's former owner' on the phone, and arranged a visit, I KNEW we would be a 3 pack o Westies .. 'Angie brought Zoey for just the weekend at first ... we fell in love, such a smart dog, and, well behaved ..
Angie came and took her home after 4 days, and I sucked it up, realized she just wasn't ready to give up her baby.
A week later she called, and, the next visit it was a 'done deal', replete with buckets of tears from Angie, AND, me.. Zoey was tooo busy playing with Piper and Lilly ..
Such a HUGE decision for you to make Dianne, and, I wish you well with it ..
A little 'Princess' would be so nice ..
Barb .. have you found an apt yet? I assume in the building you are in now?
Best to wait for a kitter puss when you are more settled ..
I am exhausted .. from lack of good sleep!!
Zoey totally HOGS the bed at night, along with Piper .. I jump up into bed (it's high) and, when I go to lay down I have to negotiate a spot with Zoey !! Last night she went under the covers, feet up on my chest, stretched down to my knees !!! Lordy ..
Good luck with the roast Dianne .. nope, no added fluid .. when it's done, you'll wonder where all the juice came from :-)
The hamburger/potato/cheese casserole I made today turned out great :-)
RAIN, RAIN, RAIN .. a bit of snow, some drizzle, and .. bump .. yuky day .. played cards ..
Watched John Cusack in The Numbers Station last night .. yikers, kinda nasty, but, good ..
Have to find sumpthin else tonight ..
Sending ANGELS wings to everyone :-)
~M~
Was so nice to have a decent day today. Didn't have to wear a heavy coat, all the roads are clear, can even see part of our deck. Hubby could fill feeders without having to shovel first.
No "M", this building has stairs involved for all apts. We would need to move somewhere else. My legs just don't want to deal with stairs anymore and it really makes it difficult for going in and out. We really noticed it the other night when we were getting out of the apartment when the fire alarm went off. As long as I am not rushing, I can take my time and do okay but if there is a problem, my legs want to panic!!!!
Sorry you have to go through another move Barb but in the long run it will be better for you.
It's why we are looking to put an addition on here. The shower and my make do dresser are upstairs, but my closet is down. I'm managing them OK now but...... The addition would give us a private area, we could reclaim our own bedroom furniture and have another bath on the lower level with a shower and a closet in our own room.
What did I learn today........ well, I learned that a quilt block looking EASY at first blush isn't that easy after all, but looking at the instructions 20x or more helps lol
For the block I'm doing, the directions are not clear - no step-by-step.........
It's God's Eye
Good morning :-)
Barb, I hope you can find something to your specifications .. I can well imagine that the fire alarm was a 'wake up call' .. they say there's a reason for everything ..
I know going down the stairs after having had my hip done, is a hecuva lot easier than going up ..
Karen, an addition sounds nice. Have a lady I know here who had her garage made into HER space after her DH passed away .. her daughter and family took over the main house ..
A bit cooler today .. ergo ... ICIER ...
May just stay put again ..
Dianne, betcha you couldn't sleep last night ..
Hope you enjoy the roast ..
Going to grab a cuppa
TOODLES
~M~
Plus I don't have to get myself all upset by all their mess upstairs.
Dull, gray day here and the sky looks like it is threatening snow. Still mulling over the pup. My main concern is my age. I'm 66 and would worry about what would happened to them if I got too ill to care for them.
Got all my shoveling done but the warmer temp sure helped me.
I understand your concern about finding a place with no stairs Barb. My DB first moved my parents into a down house he bought in my hometown. My dad could barely get around and it was hopeless in the TH. Finally my mom got a nuke, bar fridge and assorted other things you need in a small kitchen.. They never went downstairs. Once they move to a Seniors building that really helped. The elevator made such a distance.
Dianne her TH
Dianne - is there anyone you could name as GodPup when you can't look after the boys, et al?
My Daughter and SIL have someone they know well - she runs the Doggy Day Care they go to, so they Know she love 'em and cares for 'em Mind you, they're only in their 40's so it shouldn't be an issue, but they do have someone to take over for them at need.
Good morning ..
LK .. this is THE week .. one more sleep?
You will be A OK, and, we will all be rootin for ya ..
I hear ya on emergency care Dianne .. when we had to fly to Toronto we were so fortunate to have Lorna here ... even with her disability all turned out very well, BUT, it is a BIG decision, and, a legitimate concern as well.
Have had 2 lazy days, and today we are on the GO!
Couldn't really leave the house because of the ice ! Gord has put sand down from the house to the garage .. I'll get the car as close as possible to the back gate so that Lorna doesn't have to walk far ..
DH is off early to take his truck in for it's 6 month check up .. then he will wait there for us .. Lorna has a docs apt at 1030 ... after that we'll pick him up and head'er home ..
It's -10F right now .. and, I guess it's a full moon .. purdy for sure .. makes the snow glow and glimmer ..
HUGS all around
~M~
Went riding yesterday and looked at several places. Most of them were way too expensive. Those that we could afford were not to our liking - either stairs or bad neighborhoods or just didn't meet our needs. Since it is not immediate that we move, we will keep looking. It was fun just to be out with my Norm....
-10? Brrr!!! Please be careful when you are our driving.
We sleep at the house tonight, tomorrow Andy and family will be here, we take off at noon. Drive to San Antonio, have a nice dinner, and hopefully one more nice sleep. Then we have to be at the hospital at 6:30 for 8:00 surgery. Hubby has phone numbers for Jaye/Heavenscape, she will get a call when I am out of surgery, and will post here to let you all know.
Barb, I hope you find the perfect apartment for you guys.
I will be with you LK, sending healthy thoughts.
just in case anyone is interested.... bearcreek quilting is doing a fat quarter pattern thing. giving a moda pattern, free every week. sewwwww if you have been collecting those bundles... here will be free patterns to use some up !!!

So much happening in your neck of the woods gals..
Barb, not so overwhelming when you don't have a deadline to find a place..are you adamant about staying in same area or are you considering others should one become available
Lindakay, prayers coming your way..here is hoping all goes well, you've waited so long for the surgery...the pain from surgery can't be any more painful than what you have been living with..hugs
"m" it's hard to think of this as being mid February, snow only where the Snowplow pushed the snow and those banks are also all but gone..am sure we will pay for this weather come spring/summer.
Dianne, how exciting for you re another addition to your Thundering Herd
Karen, the addition would certainly make life easier for you..hard making those steps when you are not up to it..
What a weekend, had 3 days away with mom and aunt Muriel, thus spending the day in bed, sewed for a bit this morning but bed looked more inviting..they plum tuckered me out..I sure got spoilt..great time!
I stocked up on sewing supplies, enough for at least 4-5 quilts..everything to make 'My Canada' quilt (exciting to me)..of course shopping wouldn't be shopping unless I came home with new clothing..so much I have is wayyyy to big, not dieting but keep losing..think I've now lost about 30+ lbs so new clothes needed.
Was told not to worry about cooking tonight, friend bringing me supper..best I at least comb my hair
Gab later

it's plus 4 here - Bob wants to head out to the library, soon.
Pulled out a lot of Christmas decorations, and put up my Christmas village.
It's 17 sleeps until Susan arrives - getting excited! Only opened 2 boxes, now to get more open :-)
Betty, you need to go to the Dr. for a check up. Losing that much weight when you are not trying to is not good.
Michael has been in hospital since Friday. Whatever is eating his lung has started on the left lung. It has done a lot of damage to the right lung. He has lost 50 pounds. They did a biopsy today. Praying it is something curable.
I sure hope Michael finds out what's up .. thoughts with you for sure .
Betty, LK is correct .. 30lbs off without dieting is not a good thing .. could be a few things, at the least you need to have blood work .
Glad the shopping trip went well ... enjoy your supper tonight :-) SO good to see you posting .
LK .. I know how your feeling, just take a deep breath and keep smiling :-)
We'll all be there with you ..
Dianne .. how's your ice situation? We had to be extra specially careful when out today,,
Quiet (ish) day here .. went to town, back again tomorrow to grocery shop ..
Time for me to go horizontal
~M~
Betty's sister and her award winning dog were featured on CITY TV tonight. The dog is VERY handsome.
Mornin ..
Obviously missed that interview, likely it'll be online somewhere.
LK safe travels to Austin, and, all the best tomorrow..
Had a snifter of snow overnight, that'll make walking a real treat, NOT!
Heading out for groceries in a bit.
Hugs all around ..
~M~
Sending positive vibes, thoughts and prayers LK. Both for you, your family and your surgical team. Safe travels.
WLs are saying a major storm to hit tomorrow so will go out and get what I need. Mainly dog food and treats. Lots of ice in the form of freezing rain.
No new Rotti addition. The situation sounded a little hinky and I really did a lot of background check before I committed.I'll tell you the story later.
Stay safe and warm everyone.
Dianne and her TH
You are in my prayers LK for both you and your medical team. It will be so great to hear you are up and about and feeling good once again..... And don't worry about that little nudge on your shoulder - that will be just all of us holding you close......
Thanks for all the prayers.
Boy what a storm we had last night. about 10:30 huge winds came up, then lots of quarter size hail and a tornado. We have broken windows in the house on the east side, cars are full of dings from the hail.
Glad you're ok LK .. sounds like a rather scary night!
Hopefully your insurance will cover the dings in the cars and the broken windows too.
We are sitting in awesome SUNSHINE right now .. ice is melting YAY
Parking lots we were in were just a bit sloppy, but Lorna had no trouble with her walker. ..
I think you made the right decision Dianne, especially if you thought there was 'hinkyness' happening.
When we got Zoey I researched Angie and her hubby .. knew people who knew them and found out how much they BOTH loved Zoey, but Zoey wasn't mixing with the 2 human babies .. pretty much throw out the babies LoL
She has been a blessing (bed hog blessing), but, she was 6 when we got her and fully trained ..
Best get supper on ..
BBL
~M~
Betty - you lost 30lbs without trying? no, no, no......... something's not right there. Check with a Dr please.....
Dianne - glad to hear that you found out the hinky, before you got the pup.
