I just heard from Terry, I d-mailed when I got the "your subscription is up tomorrow" message, asking for more time to decide since there have been all the site issues. She said all subscribers have been given an extra month because of the problems. My page shows subscribed through end of Feb!
Best worse, what did I learn today, January 2016
I hope you decide to stay. I'm here because my history here has been rewarding. If it doesn't work for you then it's time to move on. No need to be bitter or recount chits. There were lovely people here in early 2000 who decided to move on with Dave's new ventures. There are lovely people who support what's here now, and even more so, each other.
I publicly posted that DG should offer recompense to subscribers for the inconvenience (super understatement). Great that there was a consideration but IMHO a big fat perk was in order. That said, nothing is forever, not even DG, so love the life you live.
I am a watcher of the forum. I enjoy reading what you ladies are doing, seeing the crafts and admire the support you each have for another even though you have not met.
I also have watched the format changes DG has gone through in the past month and the dissatisfaction posted by folks throughout The forums and on ATP.
I have endometrial and ovarian cancer. I belong to an online ovarian cancer support group. Three weeks before DG changed their format this ovarian cancer website changed their format to a very like format. We had no warning and it was a drastic change, like DG. We grumbled, kicked our feet, made noise but after two days it was consensus if we had our choice we would happily deal with a major format change than deal with cancer/chemo.
I hope the friendship created on this thread outweighs the inconvenience of a format change. You are too fun. Happy to again see lots of chatter!
Beautifully said. At the end of the day it's really about what's most important to each individual. Life's many twists and turns help decide all that for sure. My very best wishes and support for you in your recovery.
Well said Rockette. I am glad you popped in, and I hope you stick around.
Will keep you in our prayers.
hey hey Rockette - well said, welcome, and I'm one of those that's been around........... seems like Forever lol
I go to all 3 sites - DG, ATP and Cubits, and I haven't exploded yet, so I guess it's all good LOL
Hope Sharon's Sleep Angels came visiting last night Dianne .. I, again, had to tackle the Zoey factor ! She can make 20 pounds feel easily like 50 when trying to be moved over on the bed !
I was OK with the heart deal ..All through menopause I had those dang 'flutters', nobody worried .. then I had my physical before my hip surgery, and it was "OH! You have a heart murmur" ..Had an ECHO cardiogram 2 days prior to surgery, at 9pm .. and, no one has been able to fine the results since !
Our doc isn't worried .. and, as I said, it seems to be happening when I am over tired ..
Karen .. you must have gotten the snow too ?
Hang onto your hat because HERE COMES THE WIND !!!
It started about half an hour ago .. once the big wind chimes start 'bonging', I am UP ..
I should perhaps shovel .. but it looks like only about 2 ", so, it can wait til it's lighter out .
Hope your luge run calms down Dianne .. going uphill, or down hill on ice is just stinky !!
Mass was nice .. my friends Mom (like all Moms) was a very special lady .. Father Donnelly was happy to see me, and, we spoke of things Irish .. he just came back from over after a month long visit ..His Da isn't well ..
I kept you all in my prayers ..
SO .. I should make a plan, or not, I was to have gone into the city for coffee with my BFF, but cancelled til this weather sorts itself out ..
COFFEE .. sounds good to me :-)

I'm not bitter about anything here, just sad that some people left. I only posted to let folks know that we were getting a month added to existing subscriptions.
I managed to mess up my "good" knee yesterday, so not sure if I will be taking the pups to the show this Saturday. As it stands right now, I don't think I could make it around the show ring. Hoping, with a couple days to go, it will improve.
Thinking of you today, Susan. Praying your court date goes well for you and Bob.
Wishing we would get some snow here! Supposed to be close to 50 on Sunday, and then more rain. I've had enough of the rain, my yard is all mud. Don't think I want the ice that Dianne is dealing with, though.
Deb
Morning everyone.
We get light frost every morning, but it is supposed to be 70 this afternoon, and mid 80's this week end.
Susan, sending prayers for your court hearing today.
Light snow going on here, we are supposed to be under an advisory until about 11.
Thank you for your support - I'm calmer, knowing I have the backing and support of good people :-)
I lost what was to be my post earlier this morning. I will come back later and try again. I decided to bite the bullet and drive over to Sydenham about 30 -40 miles. It is snowing Warren's fat rain but there is supposedly rain to follow than a deep freeze. I knew I had to get out as I will be in for a few days after tonight's freeze. The Thundering Herd needed some treats and Tartar buster bones. You can laugh at me ... plenty have but if everyone in the world treated their kids as well as I treat my dogs and cats it would be a wonderful place.
Warren always said when he died he wanted to come back as 1 of my dogs. Don't laugh I think he has and his name is Diesel.
Be warm and safe everyone.
Dianne and her TH
SHALZBAT!!!!!!! I completely missed the posts above mine from Rockette, Maypop and Deb .. I can almost swear they weren't there when I wrote my post around 6am (ish)
I'm kind of a 'forever' typa person .. once I nest, I won't move very far ..
A month added to our present subscription .. guess it's better than a kick in the butt with a frozen boot, but, I was thinking 6 months would have been even better :-)
Rockette .. you are precious .. love your posts and, your grace .. don't be a stranger ..
Deb .. sugar .. dang .. poopy doo .. ouchy too to that knee .. ice and elevate and take anti inflamms .. most important .. REST it .. THAT is the hardest one to do !
Dianne .. be careful .. put it in 4x4 and go slow .. do you have weight in the back ?
Have shovelled, the sun is shining, and, the temps have DROPPED .. best make dinner ..
HUGS
Good luck Susan and Bob

"M", it looks like they were typing and posting at the same time you were, or close to it. One of the bugs DG needs to fix it the notifications of new post were made, while you were typing, so we don't miss them.
Thank you - hearing at 1:30 today..... will try to make if professional, short & sweet (like me lol). Bob's the tall stretch lol
Good luck Susan, you should be there now and sending good thoughts and vibes.
I am frozen. Took Sammy out and the wind picked up and just had my light coat on.
Remember when we had "left knees and right knees" now we have The Good knee and The Bad Knee.? LOL
Insomnia was bad last night, I think Dianne took my sleep angel (wink).
Rockette, welcome and will keep you in thoughts and prayers.
I didnt' get my chocolate cake on Chocolate Cake day so the world is out of alignment. lol
Debbie
I may give up!
Seems I post, come back in 2 hours, and, the post is not here .. sigh .. I always preview first, then post ..
Checking to see if Susan had posted ..
Dianne .. did you get out and home ok ?

Sitting on pins and needles to hear how Susan made out. Her silence is deafening.....
Keeping them in my prayers.
Me too Barb, me too.
Well the Weather Liars lived up to their name .... it is still snowing. It's the type of wet snow that is very slick to drive in. Glad I am in for a few days. I had a good trip there and back this morning but I saw a couple of cars that slid off the road.Pups were more than happy with their liver bites. Although Chaos who while delightful is very stubborn sat in front of the cupboard where I put the Cheetos for over an hour this afternoon.
Will stop in later to see if Susan posted.
Dianne
My 'sis' Debbie really needs your sleep angels Sharon. I swear in my next life I am coming back as a sleeper.
Diesel and Chaos just spent about 20 min racing back and forth on the deck catching snow flakes. Duke was camped out on the hearth. He is hot to the touch but he is not a dog that takes well to cooler temps..
M I have found the same thing but when I come back even later I find my post. Weird.
Stay well and be safe ladies.
Dianne
judgement against us. They don't have to leave until June 16th 2016, and get Feb rent free, and 1/3 off their March rent. PLUS, they want us to "repair" items in the home, such as enlarging the window in the den. The $$ compensation is because we "disturbed the peaceful enjoyment of the tenants". The Hearing Officer said that we have a year lease, not a periodic one, even though the same office said it was a month-by-month. Bob just went upstairs, to tell our landlords.......
They're happy to have us stay.
So, we pay same rent as our tenants, plus the pad rent for the mobile, plus storage, because this place is 1/2 the size.......
I'm not crying anymore, but have a major headache
BLIND JUSTICE!!!!!!!!
I am 'gob smacked' .. sending the biggest hug I can muster for both you and Bob ..
~M~
Me too Susan. I really don't understand how they can get away with this. I'll continue to keep you and Bob in my prayers.
I'm so so sorry Susan. I just can't imagine, after all you've been through. Keeping you guys in my prayers.
Morning everyone.
Sounds like the two dogs enjoy the snow.
Susan, I am so sorry to hear the judgement was against you.
Morning everyone. I hope Sharon's sleep angel found Debbie 'cause she didn't find me. All the critters were out and about last night - the coyotes were yipping and howling for hours. Two of them were up by the ash barrel. My sensor light came on a couple of times and I could see them quite clearly. It worries me when I see more than 1 at a time.
LK when do you start your sleeps? Feb 1? I'll count down with you.
I could hear the plows on the highway across the lake in the village. The guy who plows the lane has yet to come through; It looks very pretty out there.
Barb did you get snow?
What's everybody up to today? I think I will have a lazy day and just read and walk the dogs.Well I have to shovel a bit and haul in some wood.
Later everyone,
Dianne
Feb 1st, will be 23 sleeps left till surgery.
Sorry there was so much going on in your neck of the woods Dianne. I think I would have a gun ready, if I had coyotes that close to me.
I have had my coffee, I need to run and get a few things.
Love living in the country .. but .. am so vigilant re the wild life here bouts ..
We have had wolves pass through .. excites the dogs, but, I know the farmers will shoot them on sight, as the wolves would not think twice re killing off their stock ..
Bears are , of course, my LEAST favourite .. they tend to be rather cagey .. and, as the snow goes, so does the OUTSIDE the compound time for the dogs .. right now they can FROLLICK in the snow and not take off after anything because of the snow ..
Coyotes are rather infrequent .. deer, daily .. the odd Moose, and some Fox ..
We have guns, but, this is CANADA! They are locked in a safe ,bolted to the floor, and, each firearm is trigger locked !
Gord teaches a course on firearms safety, and, he is an A+ Marksman .. he will take out a shotgun in the summer if he goes away in case I have a bear problem .. but, the ammo is never where the gun is .. but, at least I can defend the property (dogs)
Waiting on a storm to appear .. temps have risen and the weather map is a sea of blues coming our way from the west ..
Still heavy hearted re Susan .. I think if anything, we may have all learned a lesson ..
Sharon, how are you doing ?
Saw a miniature Schnauzer yesterday .. cutie patootie, she was STYLIN in a bright pink jacket AND booties :-)
Since today is a 'day off' Lorna and I are going to have a GOOD look at the offerings on Netflix .. so many choices !
Best get a bustle on

Morning all,
Seems I manage to make an end of week post..did go back and read this last thread..
Debbie so sorry that your MRI is so costly, don't know what is worse, not worrying about $$$ but get appointments quickly or not having to worry and have to wait ions for just regular checkups..I called yesterday, 1st available spot is February 25th..big sigh..ran out of pain meds and new doctor taking over for old so won't renew prescriptions until he sees me first..I'll survive I'm sure.
What terrible results Susan, am sure you had your bags packed ready to move home..on the bright side, at least your landlords haven't given you notice and you are adjusting to staying where you are until such time you can move back..
Lindakay, know it's a long wait and you are Sooo ready for your operation but as you say 2 days isn't terribly long to wait
"M" we've sunshine here today but it is bitter cold..looked at stats and it says it's the mildest winter in 30 years so guess you and Dianne are thrilled as am I ..before you know it spring will be here.
Karen, I'd be watching as well re blood cloths..had prayed this year would be a better year for you
Barb know you are busy in the craft room
Sending prayers your way Rockette..
Likely missed the breeding info Deb, how did it go? Sharon got some not so good news re her show dog, big sigh, must call her
Sharon, bet you were singing 'oh happy days' when Vern's daughter left town..
Year yesterday Noah was stabbed, hard times going on as with many of my friends..overwhelming for sure
Missed some but have to run, gals are here, off for an afternoon of shopping
"M", is it a Canadian law that all guns must be locked? What is someone breaks into your home, you tell them wait while you get your guns unlocked?
Betty, always nice to see you posting. Did your Dr. not tell you he was leaving and a new one coming in? You should have filled your meds before he left. What are you working on this week? How is Noah doing?
LK - guns are always locked in Canadian homes (should be, I should say), to prevent tiny fingers playing with them.............
Our bags were packed in Sept, because we were supposed to move then, and we've been in a holding pattern ever since, thinking we were going to move "every 2 weeks"...... but as least now we know it won't be for 4 1/2 months.
BETTY!! SO good to see you posting - I'm MISSED you ever so much :-)
Yesterday my Dr gave me a form to take into the Registry Office so I can get a handicapped card for my car. We're just going to head out to take the form - not sure how long before I get the card.......... right away, or they mail it - don't know.
So happy to see you posting Betty!! You didn't miss anything on a breeding. She's not due in season until late April or early May. Sorry to hear Sharon got bad news on hers. Will she be showing at Westminster again this year??
Doc said I had a "valgus angle deformity" in my knee, not sure what that means, but that is the cause of the pain, and that it could be "fixed" without surgery. Waiting to hear what that fix is, in the meantime, I'm still working with a phys therapist out my doc's office, so I hope they're comparing notes.
Susan... Sending hugs to you and Bob. Wish you had better results.
Betty, nice to see you. Kathy and Sherry were asking how you were and I had to say I didn't know. :-(. Sherry had her left knee replaced last Tuesday. She's doing well. She goes back to the ortho this coming Tuesday. Today she is doing the steps to the second floor for the first time.
My daughter, Lisa is battling some health issues. She has many symptoms of MS but not enough to be diagnosed. Today at the neurologist they told her she needs a spinal tap. This could be the test that finally makes them diagnose her.
I'm sending gentle hugs to all of you. You're all always in my prayers.
how nice to see both Betty and Joyce...
Hope you are able to get some needed meds Betty.
And will say prayers for your daughter Joyce. Know that not knowing would be enough to drive me crazy. I'll keep Lisa in my prayers.
Worked in the sewing room today. Got ;the piecing done for the Mariner's compass.
Joyce .. prayers for your daughter, and you re the spinal and the Dx.
HEY BETTY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Love hearing from you .. you are missed and I just always hope and pray you're OK ..
Deb, dang knees .. can't say as I have heard about that valgus angle deformity .. something is telling me there could be several names for it
perhaps .. hope it improves.
Shovelled for the 40 minutes it takes to do the patio and sidewalks and , of course, the dog trails :-)
Temps are definitely rising !!!
Time for another movie

Dogs clean, show tomorrow. Supposed to be close to 50 and rain on Sunday, so they won't stay clean for long! I think I'd rather have to deal with shovelling than more rain. The dogs stay clean when the ground is frozen with snow!
The valgus angle thing is something to do with my lower legs not being in line with the upper, and my lower leg flares out a bit. With the issues with my feet and need for orthotics maybe that will help straighten up everything else??
Orthotics are a wonderful thing Deb .. all the best with the realignment AND the dog show ..
Well .. we had SNOW .. 3-4 inches of hick heavy stuff, which fell as the 'WHOS from WHOVILLE' were sound asleep.
Momma Who (me) opened the backdoor at 6:30am to let dogs out, and, let out a mighty SIGH !!!
Clad only in her nighty and crocs, with a winter jacket over top, she trounced the evil white stuff .. only thing it, Momma Who may not be able to move for a bit !
Daddy WHo, who is not supposed to shovel or exert himself, has gone to Market, and, Lorna is suiting up to plough !
Looks like I'll be doing laundry, and babysitting dogs and woodstoves ..
It is 32F here .. PLUS 32 !!! Amazing !!!!!
BBL
~M~
It's about 32 here also but supposed to hit nearly 40. Most it'll do is cause a huge mess. Hubby trying to keep two roofs in decent shape, ours and the rental.
Our snow stopped in the middle of the night. The last 3 - 4 hours it was very light snow but oh so pretty. The temp dropped way down overnight. I went out in my shorts, no socks just boots, a tee shirt and a hat.Big mistake. Pups played in the snow and I hauled in wood. My back is telling me 'you silly girl' .We burn almost all hard wood and that leaves an enormous amount of ash.
Safe travels Deb. I can just picture your dogs all cleaned up and then rolling in the dirt. Diesel and Duke prefer to roll around in fish guts.
Joyce good to 'see' you.
Oh Karen that's a lot of work for your DH.I checked my roof this morning and I am OK. I think we got enough sun for a couple of days to melt that.I must go and shovel the steps where the boys go out plus the deck.
Gee Debbie I was up most of the night so of course now I am ready to fall asleep. I was trying to follow the doctors orders of no computer, no TV, no working out before bedtime. Didn't help. How is your tummy feeling today ?
Sharon help - Debbie and I are in need of help from the sleep angels.
I really should think about getting breakfast but maybe I will just have some cereal then worry about something for dinner. I have started to keep Boost in the fridge as lots if times I forget to eat. The clementines are so good this year I have been indulging
Sitting here enjoying the fire from the wood stove and some Zydeco music, pups have their tartar buster bones from yesterday. It's heaven - well at least for me.
