That's much better than a trip to San Antonio Linda.
Best worse, what did I learn today, January 2016
Thanks so much for the info Maypop .. will likely give our provider a call and run it past'em.
AWwwwwwww .. now that's sweet snowman .. and, just a lovely picture !
Jeeze Karen .. does the pain go down your left leg as well .. sounds almost like sciatica .. was the stretcher perhaps up to high while you were infused .. they are NEVER comfortable to lay on ..
I sure hope it passes .. do you have any muscle relaxants ? Flexeril, valium ... heat usually works ..
Linda, you fer sure are close to Mexico .. kinda neat that ..
Barb .. enjoy your outing, and, I hope the Patriots win the baseball game ... hahahaha, just kidding, I know it's Hockey ... bwwwaaaaaa Football
I take it you didn't get the HUGE snowfalls .. whew ..
I have the beds made .. dinner on, and am about to mix together the dough for dog treats .. Lorna is going out to plough our measly 1" of fluffy snow ..
DH is siting reading the paper with 2 of the dogs .. one on one side and the other on the other side ..
Off I go

It is a lot better than driving to San Antonio. But we do not dare take our cars over there, as the crime rate due to the drug cartel is really high. So we drive down to about a block from the border and take a taxi over. $30.00 each way! Not cheap, but better than having our vehicle stolen. Most of the main street in Mexico is a ghost down, due to the drug cartel, scaring off most of the Americans that used to cross. Pretty sad to see it that way.
You all are not going to believe this ...... I have a rotten tooth ache. I don't have too many of my own teeth so this has me in a purple funk.
Karen you are a human pin cushion. Hope you get your back sorted out.
Storm missed us completely. I hadn't been out since a week ago Thurs. Much to the boys displeasure I was out of dog treats so I wanted to get milk and bread so I went out early. I forgot it was Sun and Foodland didn't open until 9 am. Had a nice chat with 1 of the old farmers who was waiting too.
LK glad your visit to the dentist went well..Do you have dental insurance?
M that's a lovely picture you made - I can just see the 2 pups beside Gord and 1 in the kitchen with you. All 3 of mine would be in the kitchen wondering why I am not going faster.
Going to wrestle another load of wood in.
Ooops I spoke too soon it is snowing - nothing like the eastern seaboard. It is very pretty and will cover up all the recycle the pups have taken out of the bin. Actually they are quite selective - only their cans of wet dog food.I go out and pick them up every day. It is always the same 3 cans.

Dianne
It's starting to feel a bit better, bumming me I can't do any sewing.
So happy to se you posting Dianne, but, BOO BOO BOO to the 'purplr funk toothache !!
Nuttin worse, cept perhaps sciatica .. glad you feel a bit better Karen ..
Maypop .. called our provider, they say it's not them .. can't really fight with them .. maybe it'll work itself out ..
Dog biscuits are .. have some pics, will try to download them
Later
~M~
Karen, great that you're better in one direction but the other problem is most likely related to the scoping procedure. Positioning under anesthesia commonly causes problems since the muscle relaxant effect of anesthesia, for all practical purposes, literally seizes you up. Move, stretch and take hot showers to get limber. Use a heating pad to increase circulation on the sore spots. It might take a few days.
Marilynne, what did they say the problem might be? Who is your provider? Man, I start to simmer when I hear, "It's your problem, not ours" right off the bat. They could come check it out and run tests to see how your signal strength is behaving in different areas of your house. My service is not perfect, and I do have buffering problems here and there, but ATT has been attentive while Comcast was beyond a currently known (or postable) descriptive.
Dianne, I hope you can get to a dentist soon, before you get a bad infection.
No, we don't have dental insurance. They offered it to us, but it was so expensive, and doesn't cover much. So all dental procedures are out of our pocket.
Those doggie treats look good.
The doggie cookies look good, M!! I'm sure they will love them!
I don't think it got as warm as they had predicted for us (39F), but it was at least in the mid 30's. Still some snow, but my backyard was a different kind of white. I left the pups outside for about 15 minutes without checking, and they got hold of a pack (12 rolls) of paper towels, I had stored in the garage, and shredded them!
As an encore, when I brought them in, they pulled a plate out of the sink and dropped it on the floor, so I came in from cleaning up the yard, to find Klaus running around with a big piece of broken glass in his mouth. NOT happy with them right now.
It seems like most dental insurance doesn't cover much. I have it through my job, but other than a free cleaning once a year, it seems like everything else, I'm paying the larger portion of the costs. Lucky for you LK that you are close to the border, and have someone there who can take care of your teeth.
Love the cute little snowman!
Deb
Bad, bad dogs!!
Oh Deb Chaos did something similar this week. He ran through the house with a roll of toilet paper. I had just put a new roll out. Then he got in the bathroom and somehow got the cupboard door under the sink open . I think Duke was helping with the opening the door. There were rolls of toilet paper all through the house. At least they weren't able to get any of them open.
Oh Karen I hope things start to right themselves soon. Sciatic pain is the pits.
I showed the photos of the dog biscuits M to my pack and they asked when we were leaving to go to your house. lol
My dental is a bit expensive but if I hadn't had it I would have a whopping bill with all the work I had done. They paid 80% of the bill up to a ceiling. they set.
The house is hotter than Hades. This load of wood was all hardwood and it burns hot and leaves a lot of ash. I have a couple of windows open to let some air in.
Barb did you and Norm get out today?
Watching the news made me think about how much snow we got when I was a kid. The amount they are worried about would just be a starter snow for us. Of course there were far less vehicles on the road. I can remember getting a ride to school on a tractor.
Judy I am having a problem - I don't want to put the sleigh away. I just love it.
Last call for the boys soon. I think Sharon's sleep angels have found me tonight.
Dianne
oh Dianne - bad bad doggies LOL
My sister Evelyn and BIL Bob had a chihuaua named Useless, and they ha to hide their laundry basket, and toilet paper. Useless would unroll the toilet paper all over the house, and the laundry would get strewn all over too lol
Silly doggy!!!
When that doggy passed, they got another one and called it Useless 2 (too?). Said you could say it either way lol
Marilyn, the storage room is 80% done and I spent the day putting the laundry room back in order.
I watched the Patriot/Bronco game. I was rooting for the Broncos. Why. Because Manning was the QB and I was rooting for the old guy. I was watching from a far while cleaning. Near the end I came into the great room and there was 2:35 minutes left. I could not sit down to watch because I get to nervous if I am cheering for a team and the score is close My sister called and we spent about 15 minutes on the phone. When I was done with the conversation, I came back into the great room and the score was still the same. I told Vern I could not believe the game was still on. I actually started out the conversation with "Who won?". Then I noticed there was 4:47 minutes left on the game. I asked him what happened because when I was in the room earlier there was just under 3 minutes left. He gave me "the look", and told me I looked at the screen wrong. So I stood there and watched until the next commercial. I had the game paused for a half an hour because when the game started, Vern was still getting dressed. So the commercial, Vern picks up his remote and backup the recording until they start playing again and stops to watch. He had probably been watching the same plays for over a half hour. So I gently walked into the kitchen and when the next commercial came on I yelled out, I have it.
So, when the game was over I called my friend in Spokane because I knew she would be happy about the end of the game. She said, what took you so long, the game was over a hour ago. I told her "long story".
Then earlier in the week I got my camera battery charger on Wednesday that I ordered from Amazon. Wednesday night, I opened a bathroom drawer, which I open every night for our meds, to get Vern shaver charger out and charge his razor. There in the back of the drawer was my lost charger.
My housekeeper will be here tomorrow. She would have turned around and quit if she had showed up to the mess I created and cleaned up today.
My cat, Peanut, loves to unroll toilet paper while hanging on the roll. The dogs love to chew up Kleenex type tissues or napkins.
Glad all of you missed the big storm. Barb, I hope you had fun today fabric shopping. So nice of you to wait for your neighbor.
Diane, bad luck on the tooth. I have Dental insurance and it is a joke. I am actually looking at cancelling it and paying out of pocket. Does not pay much except for cleaning and about 50% for a crown but must be 5 years old to help if you crack the crown.
It is time for me to wind myself up and gt the bed turned down and etc You all have a wonderful day tomorrow.
BTW Marilyn, I made the mistake of opening a D Mail. Not pretty but I am a strong woman. Not a drunk as I was referred to.....Hugs, Sharon
Good morning .. :-)
Early day, DH has an eye docs apt at 8:15am .. so .. we'll be on the road by 7:30 (ish)
Maypop, our provider is SHAW .. and, being Canadian, you can be assured NOTHING is their fault !
We'll just put up with it .. altho, I do think Lorna is going to phone Netflix and run it by them ..
Karen, how's the back? Maypop is correct .. usually during a scope/procedure ... when you are kinda 'foggy;, they will 'manipulate'/turn you .. when I had my hyst I had little operative pain, but, when they were moving me from the OR stretcher to the bed, they bumped my right shoulder against the headboard .. man o man was it sore ..no damage done ,just some bruising ..
Sharon ..I woulda shut the power off LOL
Not a football fan , but do know of Manning .. my favourite was Bart Starr .. now we're going back LoL
OH NO re the charger !!! You have MY luck ...........
Deb .. naughty doggies LoL .. what is it with 'paper products' and dogs .. Lilly goes into the bathroom garbage cans and scores Kleenex and shreds it! As a result, all the garbage cans are UP in the bathrooms.
Dianne .. how's the tooth today ?
I tend to think us all 'insurance poor'.
Hope the sleep angels stuck around ..
Best go and put some 'slap' on .. gonna take a bit to make me look WIDE awake !!
HUGS
~M~
"M" hope all goes well with the appointment today.
We care little for football..hockey for us..but my oldest great is named for Peyton Manning. They live in TN and Manning was at UT when ours was born. All in all I think he's been a good role model. Seems a genuinely nice guy.
I tried to go in sewing room yesterday and simply cannot bear the pain in my hip. I doesn't go down my leg so don't think sciatica. I don't know what they did to me but dang it hurts. as long as I sit fairly still I'm OK but walking and standing are out. I don't think it's hip exactly, seems in the back but low on the left side.
I hope you get get news at the eye Dr. this morning "M".
Karen, I hope you are feeling better soon. Have you called the Dr. and asked them what they could have possibly done?
Prayers for Gord this morning. Hope all goes well.
I am here. Feel like a truck hit me still. Doc said nothing he can do but order a MRI of my head.....and he knows nothing there. Don't know how to take that!!!
BUT with beginning of year and no deductibles met, I would have to pay $3,000 out of pocket (or more) and not doing it right now.
Helps if I blow the nose, and keep the ears cleared out, but good heavens, I do not have any cold symptoms or feel congested.
ALSO, my Facebook got hacked last night so it is CLOSED right now til I get through these next two days.
DH has a colonoscopy today and tomorrow is DDs shots and pain management appointments, so might be able to get on late night and work it out.
No snow here, just cold....we missed it thankfully. Just hope it stays that way!!!
Hugs to all of you
Debbie
Sounds like we have a few 'wounded' in the thread ..
Good news on the apt .. pressure remains down in the operative eye .. still blurry vision though .. keep on with the drops ..
Went shopping, got a cauliflower for $3.50 :-) Paid $6. last week.
Karen .. have you ever had kidney stones ? Am wondering if perhaps you shouldn't let the doc know about this pain ..
Debbie .. wow .. lots to pay out of pocket for an MRI .. I would wait too ..
Happy to hear you didn't get the snow ..
D A M P here .. drizzly .. bones are aching ..
Gonna make a stir fry for supper/dinner whatever we call it .. :-)
Best get to chopping ..
~M~
I have let both Drs. know about pain....got Hmmm interesting. It seems a bit better today so maybe in a few it'll be gone.
Good new for hubby's eye. How long before his vision returns to normal?
Debbie, it sounds like you have a severe sinus infection. Did the Dr. put you on anti biotics, or steroids?
Karen, I sure hope your back feels better soon!
I have let both Drs. know about pain....got Hmmm interesting. It seems a bit better today so maybe in a few it'll be gone.
That doesn't sound like much of a diagnosis........ !!!
Countdown to Thursday
Filling my time with making a lap quilt
Good idea to stay busy Susan. Keeping you and Bob in my prayers.
Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better Karen. I would be a bit teed off with that kind of a response from a doctor! I would want to know what was interesting about it!!!!
Also glad to hear Gord's eye is coming along. It could just take some time...Keeping him in my prayers as well.
And Debbie, I sure wish you could catch a break. I shall offer a special prayer just for you too,
Thank you, Barb :-)
I'm keeping you all in my prayers as well - my dear dear dear friends.
We all need prayers for all sorts of reasons, and you're certainly in mine
That cake is so cute!
It's adorable!!
OMDAWG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Could you just imagine .. AND .. our 2 gurls have an upcoming BDay on Feb.4
Lilly will be 9, and, Zoey 8 .. we always do a cake in celebration .. the HUMANS love it .. betcha if I showed the pic to a 'cake shop' here, they MIGHT be able to reproduce that ...
Hoping Debbie and Karen feel better .. believe it or not .. you are all in my night prayers .. which I keep to myself each night I lay down .. it's sorta ME time :-)
Off to watch commercials ..O OPS, I mean XFiles LOL
Nighty night everyone
~M~
That would be a fabulous cake for your girls, Marilynne!!!! I'm sure the bakery can do it! I wanna see the picture - I know that the HUMANS will love it too - doggie biscuits and all lol
Yeah, my night prayers are my "me" time too. Quiet time with my Lord.........
Marilynne - are you saying that commercials outweigh program time? LOL Heaven forbid!!!!!!!!!!! lol
Seems like most tv programs now are 50/50 commercials to program time. Pretty sad.
My me time with Heavenly Father is during the dogs walk.
Karen, make sure it is not a blood clot. Vern had a weird pain for weeks and i to,d him to get over it. Turned on the pain in his back was a blood clot in his lung and the one in his foot was a blood clot in his calf.
I cleaned the garage today while the housekeeper cleaned the house. I am so thrilled that my spur of the moment project, that took over two weeks is done. The laundry room and garage fell into the project because of overflow from the storage room. I shredded a lot of paperwork and no matter how hard I tried i got shredded paper around the area of the shredder. And then i moved from there. My garden helper came over and took everything I had in the SUV for charity. He thought he could take care of it through his church. I agreed. And it saved me a trip.
Vern daughter was in town for 3 days but only had about 2 hours to visit her father. So it was a nice visit. I can stand on my head for 2 hours.
Now that the house project is done, I need to concentrate on the front landscape. Just need to do some "Only Sharon's way of cleaning" cleaning. That is when you get on your hands and knees and remove every leaf or bury it for the worms and cut off all of thr damaged limbs on plants. And then spread new mulch and feed. You must remember, here in Nevada, spring is just around the corner.
Susan, your court date is my granddaughter's birthday. She is a very sweet young lady so you will be blessed on the 28th.
Deb, you need to get a nettie pod. It is a spray bottle that you put boiled water into with a saline solution that cleans out your sinuses. It works wonders. You can get them at Costco or Walmart and they come with a life time supply of packets. Just make sure you use distilled water or boiled water. Nothing out of the tap. Or run up and down the stairs and gt your body hot That will make all of that gunk in your sinuses start to run.
Barb, how was your trip to the fabric store,
Marilyn, tell your hubby we all said good news. Great idea for the doggies birthday. Should make it out of meatloaf and make the icing mashed potatoes.
Anyone here have a great recipe for cauliflower soup.
If i missed anyone one I am sorry. I have to get my ready to go to bed duties done. See you all tomorrow. Have a wonderful morning. Hugs, Sharon
Thank you, Sharon
Got 2 emails from our "wonderful" tenants. They're trying to show that we go there without notice - we went to see our neighbour on the 17th, because we were in the neighbourhood, and our tenants came home while we were going.
They sent another email saying that we have to give any evidence in person, and cannot just put evidence on the gate without attempting 3x. That's only for the initial notice of the filing of the Hearing. And they're saying that our "previous supposed friends" said that Bob ran away so fast that he almost tripped. Said that our female tenant was home, but he was at work.
Any time that we've knocked on the door, or rang the doorbell, she won't answer the door anyway.
He's sent "evidence" by email, but says that we can't - when I sent notice that a plumber (they required one, they said) and we would be by, they said we had to give a 24 hour notice on their door or gate. Sorry, can't have it both ways - they can send evidence via email, but we can't say we're coming by to fix the hot water heater and toilet by email 2 days ahead?
oh, and they said they'd bring the evidence to the "trial". They have to give any evidence to the Hearing Officer 24 hours before the hearing......
They can't keep anything straight.
btw - when they were trying to say we left "garbage" in the back yard - some of the "garbage" was 6 cottoneaster shrubs we'd planted there - they're all gone now.
Good morning ..
Sharon .. you are doing SO well with your cleaning/organizing, giving me some ideas :-)
There are 3 cupboards that I desperately want cleaned .. but .. DH is a packrat, as soon as he catches wind of my going into 'fibber McGee's closet' he gets in a panic, so, I will have to wait for Fridays, which are supposed to be ME days .... ahh well ..
Re commercials on TV .. I think it's tante amount to brainwashing ! Last night I counted 8 commercials during one set of them, the night before, Lorna counted 12 .. and, the commercials are almost always LOUDER than the program being watched ..
Susan .. there's nothing left to say, but, good luck and God speed .. your tenants are not leaving without a grandiose fight !!!
Lorna and I are off to town for haircuts, and, lunch at Swiss Chalet .. I just same in from shovelling, she hasn't gotten up yet so is unaware it has snowed .. doubtless she'll want to plough, but, I really need a haircut ..
Hope you all have a dandy day ... hmmmmm .. meat loaf with mashed potato icing .. not sure I could be that crafty :-)
TOODLES
~M~
Sharon, I've had blood clots so know how that feels. This seems to be easing up a bit.
We got another 6 inches of snow through the night. Looks pretty but.....What worries me now is it's warming a bit and is more like rain. Heavy snow is what brings down limbs & wires. Plow came through but very cursory run. Hoping he'll be back later. Hubby told him of my health problems so he is very good about keeping us clear.
Susan sure hope this will be the end of it for you. We'll all be sitting in our quiet little cluster behind you and Bob.
Morning everyone!
Susan, I wish you lots of luck with your hearing. Make sure you keep all the emails and correspondence with them. Did they sign any type of contract or agreement when they moved in?
"M", have a safe trip into town, and enjoy your lunch.
Good Morning!
Wow, so much going on...But hey, woohoo, I found you in the new thread!!
Awe, Dianne, your post made me smile...not wanting to put Santa Warren Express away. LOL, really short story: for a little while, uh several years I left Many items for all the different swaps out...Yikes my house looked kinda museum like! Well, hands on the hips here, couldn't find a place to [put anything else! So When I started the great cleanup, first thing I did was separate by season and got things packed accordingly. However, there are still reminders that are with me all the time. So big smiles, Enjoy year round if you wish, to hold your Santa bag, wink.
Speaking of which, We've been having a fire every day...Yikes almost out of wood! Oh I'm sorry to hear about your purple tooth, sure hope you get it taken care of quickly.
Debbie, wow, keeping you in thoughts and prayers, well all of you!
But, geeze, I hope it is nothing in your head, not meant to be funny...but your comment was cute. OMG, I wish Doctors would stop guessing and order the right test from the start! In meantime, take it easy and take care yourself.
Liz!! Good to see you post, bummer with the sinus infection! Hope you feel better fast. So how's everything going?
Deb, Awe, well I hope you get to working out with the pups. lol, I can relate, just playing with Pegasas I get pretty winded, lol it's probably the only exercise I get.
Barbara, I was smiling away, your quilt top is beautiful! I hope you were able to get to fabric store. Going to JoAnns today, pretty excited since I have not sewn anything for a long time...Didn't make that bag for MIL yet, it on the list of to..do's.
Sharon, wow you sure do keep busy! OMG, Spring just around the corner, lol we just started winter, well officially. Ahh, seems like you are like me as far clearing. Yikes my problem is I need a kick to get started! We have sooo much to do and my goal is to be done by the wedding in May!! I just may have to hire someone to help. Hey Marilyn and Lorna, don't you want to Come visit, winks and cheesy grin.
You know when Johnny came down to cut those dead trees down, well there they lay all the limbs, whew one heck of a job to cut and stack yikes, I'm overwhelmed just looking at it.
Linda Kay, I hope the ride to get tooth fixed is good and progress made...yikes so many steps to go through. Woohoo, hope and pray you hanging in with some ease of pain, February is almost upon us!!
You hoo0, Thunder, How are you doing? I enjoyed all the photo's on FB of the wedding!! How is Momma? also, was wondering if you finished the Frozen quilts, I'm sure the Girls loved them. oh and did you finish the Penguin quilt, lol I'd still be cutting!
Karen, Geesh, sorry to hear about the new pains you are having, while I hope they really are nothing. Maybe you just outstretched some muscle.
Marilyn!! OMG, that puppy cake looks awesome, I'm sure the little white fluffballs would enjoy that! lol, I don't think I would want to cut it but snuggle, it's so real looking!! heheh.
Wow, I am really glad the big storm missed you all, I was worried but glad to see everyone post...
I am feeling so much better, I've got some eye aches, but i'm pretty sure I need new glasses...Appointment tomorrow, yippee, by the way glasses were found in Jakes room. I remove them while playing with Pegs, lol he don't like them and literally flings them off my face...yep such a brat!
Well, I have great news and some bad news. Again I will ask for prayers.
During that last big snow and freeze we had here, Our BIL, fell outside and was stranded for about half hour, A neighbor found him and called 911. He was admitted with frostbite on both hands. They also removed like a litre of liquid from his lungs! Ran some test and it turns out he has a malignant cancer in his lung and liver!! Fortunatly the frost bite is clearing and he hasn't lost fingers. Today he has a consultation with the oncologist. So far he is dealing with it pretty well or as well as can be.
More bad news, MIL has lost a hearing aid...yikes she is really disoriented and DH and SIL are going to have to make some decisions. I am worried for her safety being alone and she doesn't understand that part, she thinks everyone is saying she just wants attention, I don't know, sometimes they are. So I am trying to figure out how to talk to DH and make him understand whats going on. It's just mind boggling. Today, I will take a ride over hopefully with Jake to look for the darned thing.
On to the GOOD news, Our friend Pamm last screening came back Cancer free!! I just rejoiced and cried.
Our other Friend Lynn, just started chemo and is doing actually quite well.
Waiting to hear the news from my BGFF reading and pray hers remain clean too.
Thank you all for the prayers.
As far as the wedding plans, whew what an orchestra!! lol, I am hosting a meet and greet for the wedding party...In mean time working on the invitation list, have it pretty organized to take everything to the printer.
Susan, sure hope all goes well with the court.
I hope Everyone who is achey and not well feels better...whew Spring really is just around the corner. May the Sun give you a kiss today.
Best be off, got loads to do, lol and not just laundry, roflol.
P.S. Betty, winks and hello, So nice to see you post, hope all is well with you.
Hey Judy, Wow, you do keep busy. Sorry to hear of your BIL falling, then finding out he has cancer.
I hope you can find her hearing aid. But it sounds like she needs to be in a home, or move in with someone, never an easy decision.
Glad to h ear that Pam is cancer free, and sending prayers for your BFF to have easy treatments.
Well, my Dr. just called and had to reschedule my surgery for the 24th. I have to be there at 6:30 in the morning for 8:30 surgery time. I was so looking for the 22nd to get here, but it s only 2 more days.
Oh LK I am so sorry that the date for surgery was changed. It is so hard when you are in such pain as well as disappointing.
Karen how are you feeling today?
It is starting to rain. It's 'fat' rain as Warren used to say not raindrops but not snow either. In the night there was some freezing rain. If the temp drops tonight the whole lane will be like a skating rink.
My cleaning lady is here and needs me for something so I will BBL
Dianne
I sure hope you don't get that freezing rain Dianne. How is your tooth doing?
