Hi,
Yay, Sunshine!! Glad you had a good Christmas! We had leftovers a couple of days.
lol, finally ordered pizza. Merry Post Christmas to you too.

Karen, So glad you had a good Christmas with the majority? Safe travels on to the next...

M, I hope that Gord is feeling better. Did you and Lorna have a fun shopping day?

Katie, sounds like it was mostly a fun day, glad you were able to do it.
So, Hope you get a good rest.

Thunder, so smiling, you had an Awesome day too!

Linda Kay, Everyone make it home safely? Are you doing better after the shot?

Barbara, glad you are catching up on some reading.

Dianne, sorry to hear about the oven spill, glad you weren't hurt. Yikes what a mess. Uh oh did you have to lock out the thundering herd or lol let them help clean the floor? So glad you and the boys had a nice day.
Yep RC Cola was left for meeee, lol its gone!
Thanks about my bench, great memories for sure. I was telling my kids there used to be a bench like that every couple blocks, just adds to my sentimental heart, like a blast from my past.

...So, I have a cute story.
I bought Pegasus a frizbee weeks ago. He and I played for a bit. Then Jake took it to there room and they practice. Yesterday, I played with him in the room.
I was quite amazed at his progression and we had fun. At one point he flicked it to the floor, I went to pick it up and hit my head on the stick on his door. It smarted so I put my head on the bed and rubbed. After a few seconds he hopped over to me and gently put his claw on my elbow and held it there until I picked my head up. Awe, it was just the sweetest gesture. I gave him a big armwrap and we resumed our game! Although, it's more like he flicks it and I fetch the thing, lol exhausting as playing with Jake.

Not much else, house finally back in order, finishing up laundry.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Good morning :-)

Judy, that Pegasus is one smarty birdie, and, compassionate .. that's a great story!

Dianne, how are you .. haven't heard from you in a bit ..

Happy Birthday, Dianne!

Cold, freezing rain here today. I'm really glad I asked for today off! Here I was thinking I'd still be running around to after Christmas sales, but, not today, staying holed up inside this morning. I should go out later to get my new sticker for my license plate. I've only got until Thurs to get that done. Nothing like putting things off!!

Deb

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Katie, I hope you are feeling better soon.

Betty, do you have all your Christmas decorations put away? What are you working on?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Love Ed Sheeran Dianne. His music speaks to me in a way few singers do.
Happy Birthday/anniversary dear friend.
Busy crocheting a blanket to keep me warm while watching TV. My dear DG friends sent me one but I am using that on my bed since I donated the quilt I had there. After the new year I'll get busy sewing again....
Waving hello to all - Norm's home this week so I'll pop in later....

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I guess I've just lost out all around. I joined DG for the quilting forum and went to the other threads because it was also friends in quilting. Years back I went to Cubits because many of the same friends were there, also in the quilting forums. As time passed there was less and less going on there so I pretty much stayed at DG, checking in at Cubits to see if anyone had posted. Now the same thing has happened at DG. The quilting and sewing forum has fallen apart, no one has posted there in some time. As much as I enjoyed chatting with friends over the years, sewing & quilting is my main interest. I really enjoyed the give & take, help & swaps. The only thing I know to do now is to head out into cyber land and try to find another quilting forum to join If anyone is in another forum for quilting, please let me know. This is just heartbreaking.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm still here and posting Karen. I think a lot of us are confused as to where to go so they don't go anywhere waiting to find us. Please don't desert me!!!! I shall hop over to the other place and tell you where I go when there. And I'll continue here at least until my subscription runs out. It seems like each day they have fixed something so I keep my hopes up.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

I'm still here too ..
I do believe lots have gone to ATP .. All Things Plants.,it was formed by Dave after he sold this Daves ..
I find it very nice, you'll find several of us in a forum called The Sandbox .. there's one thread there re life after this Daves ..
There are several quilting, sewing threads too.

I still come here .. old habits die hard ..

Off to bed

~M~

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

In Dave's first site after here he started cubits. We had several sewing, quilting, craft sites there. Little by little less people came there. I'm glad you are Barb, I check in to see if anyone else does. I don't really feel very welcome at the ATP site. I guess it's an OK chat site but I'm really looking for sewing & quilting.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Susan Has a quilting/sewing site on Cubits (Tallulah B)

The round robin has been over for a long time.
Perhaps more will come back to Linda's

Good morning, ladies! I still come here every morning hoping Betty has decided to rejoin us.

Back at work today, for two days, then another long weekend. The drive in was interesting, I don't think they did much plowing yesterday, some roads that are normally two lanes narrowed down to one in places. I guess they're saving money?!?! I had to hit the brakes as the car in front of me and a bus both tried for the same narrow lane at an intersection. Supposed to be mid 30's today, so hoping some of it melts. I didn't shovel my drive yesterday, it was too wet and heavy, and this morning there was a crust of ice over the top of the 3" to 4" of slush, so just hit the gas and drove on through it.

Deb

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Norm was able to get me out for a CAT scan this morning. We too have ice over snow. If it had been just me, I would have cancelled. But it is done!!!! Very slippery driving and I'm glad I'm back home and inside..

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Thinking I'm glad to be in Tennessee right now.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

I can imagine Karen, altho some parts of TN got rain as well ?
We got an itsy bitsy skiff of snow, don't even have to shovel it .. the dogs are in snow angel heaven LoL
Good Norm got you in for your CAT scan ..

I usually post in here a couple of times a day .. I feel kind of 'out of place' at ATP .. everyone has been very welcoming to those of us who have gone over, but, it'll take me a bit to get more comfortable.

Gonna bake some sugar cookies today, first batch is long gone :-)

TOODLES

~M~

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

There has been a lot of rain here but it doesn't need shovelling.
I'm not very comfortable at ATP either. Maybe I just got too complacent here. I just wish the quilting and sewing forum was still going. So sad that so much has been lost here.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

I'm still here !! Pop in once in awhile at the other place.
I'm still here, and not going away.

Marietta, OH(Zone 6a)

Karen, I feel the same way.. these threads were like Gma's old 'party line' telephone. Pick it up anytime of the day or night and connect with someone quilting. Maybe it's just the newness of going to another one, especially when it's geared mainly to just Gardening. Even in the sandbox, I feel a little out of place, but then again - I was a 'lurker' here on the quilting threads before I got brave enough to jump in. I was reading a post last week somewhere, where one of the old-timers mentioned that they wanted all paid subscribers, so every Tom, Dick and Harry couldn't be part of their conversations. That made me feel very uncomfortable, like I was trying to horn in on one of those high school cliques that I hated to be around. Things like that are what drive people to go elsewhere, and while I won't be a part of a group like that, how is a new person supposed to know whether that particular group would be fun to be a part of or not? Yeah, I was the last one picked for dodgeball, or sleepovers, etc, so I'm gunshy. If I don't feel like I'm 'qualified' to be part of a conversation or a group, I'll move on, no problem. The group of ladies that I've been part of here, are like close friends and family. I'll go looking for them, if need be, to keep in contact if nothing else, but I sure hate to lose anyone! I'm not sure what the reasons were for some being against Cubits, I liked it and since Dave and Trish are still running it, that would be another reason to stay there too. Too bad I wasn't a smarter person, I'd start my own site for quilters only.. lol

Mid Gulf Coast, TX(Zone 9b)

Good Morning to all of you.....I am much like you, Gizmo.....I have "lurked" in a few forums but noticed all "new" folks eventually dropped out because of the junior high clique attitudes.

My life is basically boring - even to me sometimes - and I don't usually have a lot to say. I too am a quilter and would like a place to visit with other quilters since I work and cannot be a part of a physical guild.

I have been a member of ATP since its inception but I REALLY don't like the badges and acorns that so many seem to love and have only visited occasionally through the years. DG is comfortable and lord knows, I don't like change any better than the next person, but better the devil you know that the one you don't. I think eventually things will settle down here and it will become HOME again!!!

Perhaps if we all are willing, we can have our own quilting bee here and maybe others will join us.

a little touch of kindness from Katie.

I'm trying to hang with the sewing/quilting forum on here. There is also one on Cubits. Between the two I'm hoping we can build our happy place again. Cubits.org A Crafty Cubit.

I agree, Karen. It would be nice to regroup..

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm still here as well. Hoping things continue to improve.
I'm looking forward to next week when all my company is gone, the house is back to rights, and I can function in my sewing room. Right now it is full of Christmas stuff and an inflatable mattress for our grandson. I have plans for a couple of quilts I have put off doing and my resolution this year is to do the things I want to do.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

A good resolution Barb. I have a few commitments, 1 more tree skirt, a T-shirt quilt for DI, a baby quilt with baby's clothes on it. Of course a quilt for new great coming in June. Other than that, I'm free

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Hey :-)
I don't quilt, I don't sew, knit or crochet ... I love to bake and cook and go to school .. I just kinda 'hangout 'in both threads ..
I have so many cherished friends here .. the ones at ATP are not as special as my HERE group .. maybe it'll change ....

Right now I am off to bed !

Hello.
I wont be renewing my subscription. Im sure katie and susan will miss me terrible. Many of you hold a special place in my heart. I will keep u in my thoughts always.
Best wishes

Cleveland,GA/Atlanta, GA(Zone 7b)

I've been lurking through most of the Q&S threads 'tween work, volunteer stuff and family. Quilting and sewing take back seats 'til cold weather sets in. We've not had much of that so far. Count me here in spirit as I always think of the quilters and sewers among the friendliest, most supportive and open people at DG. Hopefully, I'll have more to add than my two cents soon.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I'm here. I don't get on as much as I should, but you are all like family to me. I hope we can keep this thread alive!
