Don't be fooled by a sun shiny day ...... it is bitter cold out there. Wood stove is on and I have a couple of windows cracked open.

Oh M I was just cleaning the lazy susan out this morning and found the bubbles I meant to put in the parcel. My 3 love bubbles - they will chase them for hours..

Garbage and Recycle people are going to hate me this week. I got the laundry room cleaned out and sorted. Then I tackled the drawers in the cupboards.. Man I must have put 50 containers in the recycle bin.

Listening to Jim Croce ....... loving it

That is the one LK. I am doing it in fall colors. I have so many scraps in my stash(es) that are orange, gold, yellow, rust etc. I'm using a medium beige with the squares and pinwheels and a very light beige for the rest of the squares and the setting triangles. Not sure about borders at this point..... Spent most of today pressing scraps and beginning to cut. A LONG way to go yet as I'm cutting for Carole's first mystery quilt at the same time.....That one will become a donation quilt.

I really like Carole's blog. I have been following it for a few months now and think it is great. She is so willing to share her knowledge and I like that.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Scroll up ladies, we have a new room.

Barb, that will be beautiful in fall colors.

Dianne, out dogs love bubbles. You should see them in the summer when the grands have the bubble machines going.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We are starting to wend our way home tomorrow. Not all that ready to go as I know we now have a ton of snow, but time to go. So much to do and I need to get with gastro Dr. Been doing OK in that department here my Dr. sent orders for me to get a draw once a week while here. I doubled up on the iron pills too.
Think we'll go as far as son's in Warren then home on Wed.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good planning Karen. You don't really want to get too tired on the trip home....

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I worry more about hubby, it's really a long drive for him, 850 miles.

Do you think Betty's health has anything to do with her leaving DG? I don't post here but so loved to read her post.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

I keep hoping she'll miss us enough to come back.
Sadly I think we've lost Katie, says she'll never come back here, having some big health issues.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm finding it hard to deal with all this. We have lost so much when we lost all these friends. I have Betty's email and she won't even answer that. I don't know whether to be angry with her or to be hurt. I thought we were closer than that. At least some kind of explanation...
Sure wish there were some way to help Katie. I understand having health issues to deal with along with all else she tries to do. I will miss her and wish her well and good things to happen for her.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I too miss Katie, Betty and Susan.
Susan posted on FB yesterday, she went to the Dr, and both of her knees are bad, so they will be sending her to a specialist.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Is this Susan in Canada or Susan in Georgia? In either case I hope she gets the help and support she needs.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Canada Susan.

I'm still here now and then, mostly lurking. My heart tests turned out really good quite a relief as I'm ten years past the age at which my mother had a non-fatal heart attack. All parts of my heart tests which included a long stress test came back really good. Whoopee. I still have a stitch in my left side, maybe due to pneumonia which is gradually going away.

I just cannot see continuing here and paying for this kind of treatment. Finding lots of friends old and new at ATP and hope all of you will at least check it out. It's not DG but neither is DG at all like it was. There's no need to make a choice and ATP is free.

I do not want to lose my friends here but I wll not be renewing my subscription. I wonder, in fact, how long DG will survive.

Please at least come over and say hello.

hugs, katie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Thanks for checking in Katie. Glad to hear all your test came out good. Get some rest and get rid of the pneumonia.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Sending prayers Katie that you can take the time to heal completely. Rest, rest, rest....

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Thank you Betty. We have really been worried. Can you send me your new email address? Norm says hello and said to tell you he never makes me a Timmies but that he doesn't think of you. HAPPY NEW YEAR and may this be a good one for you...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hi all! I'm popping in! I've been crazy busy and it doesn't look like it will let up.
Betty, hope you hang around for us. We all miss you. I'd like your new email as well.

We had snow today, maybe 1/4 inch. Tomorrow they're saying 2+ inches. We'll see...

I bought 5 tickets for the powerball...can you believe nobody won and it will be over 1.3 BILLION on Wednesday?? Guess I'll buy a few more tickets!!

Karen about how much dish washing detergent do you put into the washing machine? I have some whites that need some whitening but all I can picture is the time Warren put liquid dish washing detergent in the dish washer. He called me at work in a panic saying there were soap bubbles all over the kitchen floor and they just kept coming. He could laugh about it later but at the time no - he was even peeved I was laughing.

Chaos is in big trouble. I am so angry I can't even cry. Somehow he got a hold of 2 pictures I have on my night table of Warren. I managed to save 1 but the other one was in pieces. It was a photo of Warren from the early 70's.If that wasn't enough he counter surfed right in front of me and deliberately knocked off a pound of butter I had thawing. This not being able to get their usual amount of walks in is taking its toll. I did walk them in the pouring rain just a bit ago so hopefully I got all the zoomies out of them.

I seem to have several posts missing from Jan 7 until Joyce posted today. Hmmm wonder what happened.

Pouring rain but the wild winds have calmed down. Temp is starting to drop and the snow is supposed to start to fall soon. The lane has started to flood in a couple of a low laying areas.I went out to Foodland to get some mild and dog treats as I am sure I will be iced in for a few days.

Later
Dianne

I use it in every load of whites, about 1/2 cup, along with regular bleach.
If you have some items to whiten, I usually use a bucket or large bowl, Put in 1/2 cup dishwasher Detergent and about the same Era. Fill with hot water, swish the item every once in a while, if necessary repeat or I sometimes leave to soak over night.
I have used this on delicate swiss batiste baby dresses that have sat for years. removes stains, whitens and doesn't harm the fabric.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Good to know, Karen! Thanks for the info.

How are you feeling?

Gorgeous couple, Thunder. Congrats to them and the extended families! And another baby on the way... Nova - inspiring name for their new beginning!
Thank goodness I came home yesterday... this morning's snow squalls hit interstates right above my travel line, causing multiple vehicle accidents in the white-outs, involving semi-trucks and many cars, trapping people until the Emergency could get to them. No immediate family involved, thank goodness, as we do have truckers in the family that are on the roads. We've had a few squalls here at home, but go thru quickly.
I've been gone for almost 2 weeks with my Mom and the funerals, but am trying to catch up on threads so I don't repeat questions or subjects. I have to sort fabrics for Barb's QAL that she has going on, and the baby quilt to finish for my niece. I've had enough craziness for awhile, and need to get back into sewing for some calm...
Smells awfully good in here.. I have veggie soup and chili going on the stovetop and crockpots. Maybe cornbread later... hmmm

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Come over to the new thread.
