Sending Merry Christmas greetings to all.

We had very high winds through the night, many trees down. Power went off about 9:30 this morning and was off for 6 hours. Joined most of our neighbors for lunch at the local eatery. Now I have to fix a dinner.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Popping in to say Merry Christmas to everyone.

Betty, please pop in and let us know you are okay.

Verona, ON

Merry Christmas everyone.

Karen we had your winds today. I had planned to move wood over but the wind was too much. Rather balmy.... I was outside in shorts and a T shirt.I was very happy to see that your doc has gotten in contact with you Karen.

LK you must have a houseful. Controlled chaos, right? It will be fun in the morning as you still have Santa believers. Warren always insisted he believed in Santa.

Oh M your dinner sounds wonderful. I love brussel sprouts. Hope your day tomorrow is everything you want it to be.

So to my family here I wish you peace, health and happiness.

Merry Christmas. This site is a mess and I have been lurking.

Had a big wind about 3 weeks ago that took down about half a a pepper tree and threw it into the neighbors back landscape. One branch grew over the pool and wind lifted it up and over the fence. Did not touch anything in our back landscape. Neighbors have about $4000 in damage, which $2300 is an automatic pool cover. The rest is some bushes. Amazing how much they think their bushes are worth.

Anyway my insurance says I am not liable. We both have the same insurance, State Farm. Their insurance would cover the damage but their deductible is $7000. So "she" thinks we should pay it and has harassed me by text until I said ENOUGH. So she says she is going to sue because I do have liability because I did not trim my trees properly. Thank goodness I use a professional licensed tree service. And State Farm has interviewed many of the tree trimmers and they have positive reports on my maintaining my trees. They also said if she sues, they will defend me with their lawyers. So that was how the week went before the wedding. Bill to trim tree that had major break and another large break on Sumac tree in front landscape was at a cost of $900.

Vern is doing fine, He had his spinal tap and seems to be more with it. He is still having trouble with the telephone and the TV remote. Still using the wheelchair instead of the walker but I think he will probably not go back to the walker. He says the wheelchair is easier.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

The wedding was lovely. Hannah is a beautiful young lady and very happy and it shows in the photos. They went to Banff, Alberta, Canada for their honeymoon. They will be home this evening late. We will have Christmas dinner tomorrow.

Tracy and her family went up on the mountains and went sledding. They said the skies were cloudy so they could not see the full moon. It was spectacular earlier in the evening.

Todd and family are in Thailand. Todd was just promoted to Colonel in the Army Reserve.

Still working on the rental. Just a few items left before it can be leased. Wedding got in the way.

When I went to bed last night it was spitting snow and the wind was really blowing. All the leaves from the streetscape trees were blowing everywhere. This morning when I went out to get the paper, the majority of the leaves are in my front landscape.

Glad to see everyone is still here. Looks like Susan moved over to ATP..

Hoping all will come back when this mess is cleaned up.

Las Vegas, NV(Zone 9a)

Betty, so pleased you popped in. I must now go get Vern out of bed and head over to our daughter's. We are having Christmas dinner tomorrow because new bride and husband do not get in from honeymoon until late tonight. Other granddaughter is spending Christmas with new husband's family. First time ever not at home for Christmas. But that is what happens when children get married. Next year they will switch. Only way to keep peace in the family.

We have a big freeze warning out for Las Vegas. And I am in my comfortable, warm home, still in my PJ's.

Pacifica, CA

merry Christmas,

betty so nice to see you drop in!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

So glad to see you pop in Betty. You have been sorely missed and I also do hope you will reconsider and pop back in to stay. Merry Christmas.....

Sending love and wishes for a great day for all and for the best 2016 ever.......

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas? My youngest one left about 6 last night. My oldest son will be leaving this morning. They live in Amarillo, and they are expecting a bad snow storm to hit tonight or in the morning, so they need to get on the road before it hits.

Sorry to hear of the damage in the yards Sharon. I hope you can get things settled.

Katie, I do hope you are feeling better? Did you play Santa for all the kids?

Karen, how are you feeling? Did you guys travel or stay home?

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Morning, and, HAPPY BOXING DAY .. today is a holiday in Canada .. long explanation, suffice to say it has become more or less like the American Black Friday, only on the day after Christmas :-)

Busy day yesterday, not a word from our son and family, breaks my heart, but, I guess 'that's life' .. would imagine my daughter in law is quite pleased.

Trying to get photos off my camera onto my computer, VERY frustrating .. Dropbox doesn't seem to be working .. or .. I have changed a setting somewhere .. I think not though .. Lorna and I have the same phone and she is stuck as well ..
Always something ..

I do think Karen did go south ...

Katie .. how are you?

Sharon, wonderful to hear from you .. beautiful pic of your d
grand daughter ..

LK .. Texas has had some big storms ! Hope your son made it home OK ..

Making coffee .. come on up :-)

First son made it home safe and sound. 2nd one will be leaving soon. It is an 8 hour drive for them, and storms are supposed to hit by midnight tonight.
Our weather has been perfect. It is 65 right now, and foggy.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

We had a wonderful day yesterday with a visit to youngest son's home in the morning to see the girls' presents and coffee. Then on to the hospital to see my brother ( a story for another post) and then up to my daughter's again for prime rib. It was a great day and bless Norm as he DID stick to the diet!!!!! I'm so very proud of him..
The temps were in the 60s!!!!! Just didn't seem like Christmas here without any cold, let alone snow.
Expecting snow on Tues - first of the season.....

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

We are part way south at daughters down state. Our family celebration is today then we are heading down to TN tomorrow.

Glenview, IL

Good Morning!
So nice to see you all had a wonderful day.
I hope all travelling have safe trips to and from.

We had a wonderful Christmas Eve with family and kids friends.
Yesterday was very relaxing as everyone went about their Christmas day visiting.

Debbie, so Glad you got a photo of the Christmas Full Moon!
Thanks for sharing. Love your little tree...Look what I got in my stocking!

Karen, glad to see you went on your trip and had a good visit, safe travels on to the next.

M, I feel your sorrow for not hearing from your son. Armwraps to each other.
I am glad you had a good Christmas...
Well I hope your pictures get to the files. I imagine, Drop box was insanely busy.
OH how fun, I thought about you and everyone here while I wrapped gifts for DH the entire morning Christmas Eve, it was fun but whew, I was glad when it was done 15min after our first guests arrived.

Katie, Thought about you and your Santa Mobile, sure hope you had an awesome day!

Linda Kay, great Family photos, smiling, Did Joe give you my Armwrap?
I can't believe how big Dylan is! Beautiful family.

Barbara, So glad you went a visiting! so smiling the weather was nice enough so you could travel with ease...Love that Norm stuck to his diet, I am proud of him too.

Dianne, Well, you know I am in agreement with Warren, there IS a Santa. I hope that you and The Thundering Herd had a beautiful Day. You are in my thoughts and prayers, especially around this time of year...

...Remember, I told you I was helping Jake with my Christmas Present? lol of course I have a story of the day...I'll make it really short. The forms have been in my yard, moved around, stashed, hidden for years, like 16! This past fall I came across them, pulled them out thinking I am going to work on these. That's as far as they got...He told his dad: mine was the "Cheepest" well my eyes just sparkled as a comment was made, We (Jake & I) said you can't put a price on love. We spent that entire day together, I got to teach him how to change tips on the router Bill(Sunshine's DH) gave me, he let me take pictures and I will feel the love for a very long time...Mind you it still has be sanded and stained
But Tahda, our gardens will be graced with my very own beautiful bench!!

Judy I spotted RC cola ... were you expecting Debbie or Santa? Super great memory of Jake for you to have.

Quiet Christmas Day here - just what I wanted. Extra walks with the pups and took time to remember how blessed I am. I could tell I haven't used the oven for a long time. I thought I would cook up some chicken breasts I had in the freezer. When I took them out to baste them as I put them back into the oven I tipped the pan and whooosh I had water very hot water I might add dripping down the oven and on the floor. Guess who had to clean the oven and the hardware wood floors.

Hope your day yesterday and the day today is everything you want it to be.

Hi Everyone,

Santa was out and about yesterday in the Santamobile with four huge bags of stuffed animasl (largely thanks to neighbor DAna who spends a lot of her summer in Seattle going to yard sales and collects them for us) and twenty pounds of hard candy. It was tiring both because I am getting over pneumonia and because my helper elf was having some kind of mental episode. It brought home to me that a mild abbertion may be confronted or ignored but if the train is derailed, so to speak, other options must be employed. Overall, though, it was a great experience and I have been dwelling on all the good parts. Next year I hope to have a different elf.

Today I'm very tired and am staying in bed with the TV on but not much watching. Or reading. Lots of petting the furbabies.

Also, I'm getting my meds organized. I'm good about taking them for a while but then something comes up - usually a trip - and I slack off. My breathing is much better but the depression monster lurks.

Big hugs for all my friends, I have to go back to bed.

katie

Merry post Christmas!

It was good to see our Betty stop in. I know she probably misses us. I know foe sure we miss her!

It was a nice day yesterday with 16 in attendance. Everyone had plenty to eat and went home with leftovers. Believe it or not, I've been cooking all day today. Now my kitchen is a mess AGAIN! Oh well, the eats will be worth it.

I'm sending big hugs to all of you. I renewed my DG a couple minutes ago. I couldn't stand the thought of being without you all.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Hiya .. and .. BRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Our temps have finally dropped .. had a wee bit of snow over the last 24 hours as well.
Just been futzing around putting together Christmas presents, sending in registrations online for products ..
I think Lorna and I MAY venture into the city after for coffee .. DH has a cold, so he'll stay curled up by the fire ..

Take care everyone

Good morning~~~~
Quiet day here for us too. Norm got several cookbooks to read through and pick out recipes to try. He loves doing that. I'm going to attempt to clean up my quilt room. You know, the one place everything gets dumps in over the holidays!!!

Then I think I'll put my feet up with a book!!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I hope Gord is feeling better soon.

Glad to hear Norm is sticking to his diet.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I'm so proud of him LK. Of course the upside to this is that I get all the goodies from Christmas!!! So I will probably be on his diet in another week or so!!! LOL

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Our family Christmas was awesome, 35 of us, had a wonderful prime rib dinner and great fun opening gifts. Gifts for the kids anyhow, then the pandemonium of them all checking out each others toys.
I so enjoy seeing almost all, we only manage this once or twice a year.

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

I had my baby boy home, my best friend came over. Skyped with the girls. It was a beautiful day!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

On our way to TN. Won't get there untie 9 or so. Late start we all slept in this morning.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Karen, please watch the weather reports. Bad storms going across the country.
