Forgive me for double-posting, but that's bound to happen if it's difficult to review the last post.

Status of Updates & Fixes
Terry - thank you for responding. I do not agree with their priorities (ease of use is the first rule for internet sites). That is a product of competent design. If a site is well designed and programmed, users will usually wait patiently for the inevitable glitches that occur. If users are having to struggle just to get to a desired point on a site, the "ever fickle public" will simply move on to a more user-friendly site. But you are not making the decisions. We know you are working hard and apparently you and Melody have been assigned to take all the heat in the name of the company. That is unfortunate. Maybe some of your bosses should step up and speak up for their company. Any chance of that happening? Anyway, thanks for your efforts.
Terry, thanx! Quotes and I arent speaking at the moment, I DID discover a double linking embedded in those posts I hadnt caught earlier. The forum links are hilited in the posts to be deleted, The Post or thread was jumping on me, but has a different cue to take you to that thread. Was glad to figure out the difference, thanks again.
Terry is there any news about when some of these things are going to be fixed?
Can you share what the priorities are?
I have kind of backed out of DG for a few days, waiting for bug fixes.
I agree the thumbnails are too small (not a bug, just a decision of management).
I agree there is just too much glaring white 9not a bug, just a decision).
i agree we need the jump to end etc back (bug).
I agree we need the watched forums notification if there is new activity there (bug).
I have given up on Plant ID, it's just too hard to see the thumbnails, and to know which threads have new activity since I last logged in. This is too bad, I was having a lot of fun learning about all these plants. I thought it worked quite well before (design and bugs)
This rollout has been especially difficult,I know there are always bugs to be worked out, but some better QA needed to be done on the front end, especially as the programmers aren't gardeners and don't use the site.
I have a new computer, with a really nice really big screen, but the photos are just too small now. I haven't tried with my cellphone, so can't say if any improvement.
I'll try again in a few days.
I still don't have the time on my post, only the date. It says here, last post 12 hours ago.
I also have to click on watch thread, or it will not show up.
Taters- the hrs is all i see too- of last post. With date. I think the small bugs will be fixed last-(drily) hopefully sometime next week? Apparently just like FB is breaking the internet, so did DG, chuckl, when they updated.
I think I'd worry about the "big" bugs before the small ones........
Looks like Skip to New works... at least for me. :D Thank you!
It's doing the same for me, Chilly. All the way to the last page and part of the way down. It is progress so that's a good sign :o)
Thanks Terry, Melody and Techs!
Anna, not being able to navigate a site efficiently IS a big thing. Glad to see that "Skip to New" now does actually take you to the latest post on the newest page.
thank you for Skip to New!!!
Yay, Skip to New!!!
I know this is minor, but my ad settings are set to 'Top Watchdog Ads' but I'm seeing ads for all kinds of random stuff. Unless Ford Motor Co is in the Watchdog.... ;-)
At least "Skip to new" actually worked for me for the first time in a long while! Thanks!
Now we need the actual time added back.

I disabled the "premium" or "Top Watchdog" ads for you, as well. That should eliminate all ads for you. It's a perk we offer to our subscribers, and unless we can successfully limit your view to only relevant ads from our top vendors, I'm all for eliminating all of them :-)
YA-A--A--A-Y! "Skip to new" is working! Thank you, THANK YOU! ! ! ! ! This deserves a toast. . . .
Vern (Rusty)
I agree :-). It was a feature I took for granted until it was no longer available.
Now we need the actual time added back.
We (Melody and I) struck a deal with the techs as we prioritized and specified fixes.
The time stamp - while nice to have - has been a bit of a bugaboo, due to everyone having different time zones. I can't tell you the ins and outs, but I think it bogged things down a bit, and was a little touchy to keep in place.
That was why on the initial forum rollout you saw elapsed time only - something that is fairly routine on other sites, too.
We asked to put back the date on posts more than 24 hours old. So you'll see elapsed time on newer posts (those within the past 24 hours) and the date of older posts. Unless there is a really compelling reason to know the exact time of a post, we are going to leave it as-is for now.
If you need to link/refer people to a specific post (such as in another thread), there is a Post # link beneath each post. Click on it and it will give you a copy of the link you can paste wherever you need to add it.
If you are trying to flag a post for us to look at (spam/scammers, etc.) there is now a flag in the left-hand corner beneath each post. If you use that flag, we'll automatically have a link to the post you're referring to.
Alright, thanks Terry.

No problem. As far as anyone else standing up to address concerns, we could ask but the folks we report to aren't daily DG users. If you have a specific complaint/issue with the way Melody or I are handling things, if you'll send it to the help desk, I promise I will pass it on without editing it. But for the day-to-day questions about the site, Mel and I are probably the most "in the know" and hands-on people to address your concerns.
Terry,
Ads seems to be good.
On android I noticed words dont wrap. See attached photo.
Skip to new worked and Im now seeing my new posts and such on the home page.
Thanks!
What version are you running? At a glance (I don't use Android, I'm an iOS girl), it looks like the S4's standard browser doesn't wrap and you have to download an Opera mobile browser to get text wrapping. But if you're running a different version AND/OR other websites wrap properly, it may be something we can tweak in our settings, so let me know.
Terry, thanks for explaining the flag.
I wondered what it was used for, but didn't want to bother you with it. I understand the purpose of flagging something. I just didn't know who we were flagging it for.
Thankful for skiptonew is back!!!!!!!!!!!!! That is a HUGE thing for me.
I am most grateful for al the time & effort put into making this site user friendly once again. I, personally, don't care whether the actual time gets put on a post or not. The elapsed time is just fine!
But I do have another request (unless it's already been handled and I just haven't discovered it yet) : Please have it fixed so that when we send a post, it goes back to the end, where the new post is, rather than back to the top of the first page of a thread. Thank you! ! ! ! !
Vern (Rusty)
I love having "Skip to New" back soooo much I just had to mention it one more time! It's sometimes amazing how just one thing can make everything seem so much brighter! Thanks again!!
I too want to say thank you for the "skip to new" function working again. For at least one day I was able to send posts in that contained a dash. Now it's back to stripping the post again if I put one in.
And I am still seeing double posts with both Read Less and Read More.
I have discovered that a message will not post if after I hit Preview the message does not appear in both the preview and Edit Message parts on Preview page. I then copy original message and paste it into the Edit Message box and I can send it that way.
The three dots in front of the Read More button will hang up a post for me that I copy from another post.
Skip tp New hsn't worked for me for ages so I'm like a kid with a new toy as it works for me now, too.
Joing the collective sigh of relief and chorus of 'Thank Yous' and hoping for quick and useable resolutions to other glitches here known and unknown!
I am grateful have the date even if the exact time doesn't show. Though a clock repairer in the house may beg to differ. :) Thank you for getting that much.
A proper "Skip to New" is my favorite Christmas present! Thank you, thank you.
Could not figure how to start a new thread....
weird thing.... a thread that popped up in my "watcher" is not seen in the forum.
Pets forum | Ya-ya Sister cat nip tea .....
here is the thread - http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/t/1386438/
here is the forum - http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/f/pets/all
I know two of us that follow this thread can not find it within the forum, only the thread when it popped up in our "watcher" - Hope that was clear.
Something is happening on my Watched Forums page even as we speak! All of the thumbnail photos that were posted along with thread title are migrating to the left hand column one by one.

I dont know what version Im running. I have an LGG4. As I type in this window, everything above had word wrapped correctly. If I turn my phone landscape, it all wraps correctly. If I have my phone turned portrait, already posted items dont wrap correctly.
Luckily, I dont have an issue reading like this :) (I work in an elementary school and see this daily). I can easily just turn my phone to have the words wrap.

Help! So much better....and now so strange. No matter what I press, back to top, through a different part of the site, etc., this exact thread keeps showing on my page as a new post having been made. But when I click on it and get brought to this thread, nothing new at all. This has happened about four times now.
Now, on the thread "changes to the Files," it is likewise unwilling to admit that I have ever read it before. It is a thread I am watching and have posted on, but I do not care to post again at the moment. It won't stop putting it as something with a new post. I am posting here because I don;'t want to report the same problem on different threads, and it's not a PlantFiles problem
Watched posts much better. Date ok, time totally unimportant- but how do cellphones keep up with time zones so ez? Yet threads are a major time problem? Wierd stuff. Thanx for the little cleanup priorities esp!
I'm thoroughly disappointed with the changes and the application of same. The failure to improve the problems is paramount IMO. I personally have moved on, but will monitor the situation until my subscription runs out. I will not pay for a site that treats their customers concerns so callously. I've only had my own subscription for 3 years but have been involved with DG for 9 years through my wife's membership. I've enjoyed my involvement in DG, especially the MAF and GHF, but that is no longer the case.
I a seeing the same thing as carrielamont - same threads keep showing up as new although they are not.
