Victoria Harbour, ON

Sorry Barb, missed that post, then you are right on target..where is Judy, did she go back to bed?

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Means I have it traced on the block. Should have made myself clearer than I did.

Ready to do cheeks.

Pacifica, CA

Barb, I am at the kitchen counter doing these. When my back bothers me I go sit down for a bit.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

My cheeks are done too.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Hoping you have a flat or angular brush, if you don't let me know and we will have to figure something out

Dip brush in water

Tap brush on paper towel, should absorb most of the water

Dip the tip only into the paint

Now work your brush dragging from top to bottom several times so that the paint widens a tad and becomes lighter to right edge, now don't work right across the brush try to keep it half way to left

Then pinch out excess water on right half of brush

Oops can you see I was painting with black, should have washed it off my nails. Lol

Need more room for photo's

Clever LK. Whatever works right!!! With me it is the opposite. I can't stand for more than 5-10 minutes at a time then I need to sit. No strength left in my legs or lower back...

Glenview, IL

Good Morning Annette and LIZ!!

OMG, Linda Kay you must be freezing...uhg, not sure what the temp is, but its white out there.

Actually Barbara, now that the big bulk of the clean up is done, I'm kind of bored.
But, all is good. I am getting to work on my Santa Warren Pressie, coming along nicely.
...Give Norm a big toothless grin for me.

OK removing my tac now, lol made breakfast while paint dried.

ROFLOL, LK and Barbara...How does LK's face look on your blocks? hahaha.

...I kinda love that it snowed, just put more fun into our snow lady project.

Victoria Harbour, ON

At this point to make it easier I turn my block so eyes are facing left

I take my dressed block and pull paint in a half moon to enhance the cheeks

Remember he nose/eye painting will cover a good part of it

I alway call this and next few steps my ugly step

Now you've made me hungry Judy

While you all get caught up think I will put a few potatoes in micro so I can make home fries

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

At the desktop having a cup of coffee. Can you pass one of those goodies Betty?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Will do, are you keeping your treats for lunch hour?

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Having to repair the bottom edge just a little bit, so I am a little behind. I will catch up eventually.

Victoria Harbour, ON

I'm here all day Annette, so don't fret

Got your orange and small liner or smallest brush you have?

Time to base coat the nose, I will let it dry then give a 2nd coat

Missy said morning to all, she made herself comfy and decided to oversee the project

Joining in. Will start doing my coats of white!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning Missy.

Morning Julie, how are you feeling?

Glenview, IL

OMG! Look what I did!!
Dropped the *(&**^* sponge.

I'll be here should you have questions

Ready for 2nd coat on nose,

Already done it?

Ok I will move on to next step

Yikes, almost screwed up..used my liner for the eyes, thank goodness I started in the middle so it didn't roun outside the eyeball

Now if you are shaky you could take a waterproof marker if you have one, do outside line then fill in with paint??

Hi Julie...

Oh well hope the orange will cover it up.

Are my cheeks
too little?

Awe, it just wouldn't be a workshop with out Missy, prrrrrrrr.

Pacifica, CA

omg judy lol

Ocean Springs, MS

Got my paints out and barely had any white paint! I forgot that I let my daughter use some for her theater class. Having to pound on the bottles to get the paint out, but I have 3 coats done. Having to do a 4th coat since my paint is coming out slow! I'll catch up!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Do we put a second coat on the eyes?

Victoria Harbour, ON

If it's not solid you do

Now again for the mouth, if you've a permanent liner you could use it for outer area of the mouth and with liner fill in mouth

Good morning, everyone! Linda Kay, if I could just understand my daughter and DIL, I'd probably be feeling better. Just a long story leaving me feeling like I'm the last person they want to see or spend time with. My grandson Caden doesn't even know me! I know he lives away from us and he's not quite 2 yet, but he won't even come to me!

Think I'm going to set this aside for a while. I just pulled the Tac off and part of the white pulled off with it. Now I have a big "V" of clear instead of a nice round face! UGH!

Victoria Harbour, ON

So pleased you are all here with me

Judy made me hungry, am sure you could all use something so bacons on, home fries shortly, how do you like your eggs?

My eyes might look like they need an extra coat but likely because I'm taking photo under lighting and while still et

Now for eyebrows

With your smallest brush dab end in paint, set down to create a larger area at start of eyebrow and gently pull making a thin arch look

Wow snow sure is falling, hope winds don't rise as we'd be in mega trouble, how would you get home?

Thumbnail by Bettypauze Thumbnail by Bettypauze Thumbnail by Bettypauze

Julie, if you are not up to it, leave it for another day, I'm always here

You can submerge in hot water and wash all off and start fresh...hugs

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I think we all have been at that place at one time or another Julie. Will keep you close...

Victoria Harbour, ON

With your liner, put a twitch of water in your brush pull your brush through the black as to make in ink consistency..see photo, once I've done it I try to see how thin I can make the line

Then I start a tad to the upper left of the eyed and follow the right side of the eye pulling a few eyelashes then go and do a few on upper section

By now your Snowlady should be talking and smiling at you

Maybe take a break from painting for a sec

Get that iron plugged in and get the hat, a glove and 2 snowflakes
Maybe a t towel or iron sheet so you don't burn the wool

Thumbnail by Bettypauze Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Ocean Springs, MS

I scrubbed it clean. Hot water worked wonders. I'll start over when I get more supplies. My heart wants to do it today, but my brain is not! Going to make a list of supplies I need right now and get them tomorrow!

Looks like y'all are having fun. Enjoy the snow (wishing we had some)! ♥

Victoria Harbour, ON

Stay for breakfast, almost ready Julie then go do something for yourself

I truly believe we've all had busy busy lives and didn't get to see our parents as much as we should have, the world turns, now our time, time to make a life for us, let the kids live their lives and when they have time a bonus..when thinking that way you sure save a lot of heartache and get to do things for you.,new friends, new interests.

Victoria Harbour, ON

When putting your snowflake on it must be somewhat in the middle as the top gets tied and the lower brim turned

Now pull the backing off the snowflake, position it , set something on it and with iron on med press, do same for glove

Thumbnail by Bettypauze Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Victoria Harbour, ON

When you finish, grab a coffee, walk around and now it's time to bring our piece alive

We are nearly through the painting stage

Still ugly stage right? Not to fret, you will oooh's and ahhh shortly

Now with your flat brush as you did with the shading of the cheeks

With left side of brush, slightly damp pick up white and work it back and forth on your paint tray
Squish out wet paint on right side of brush and pull white highlight on the left side of eyeball

Now like you did for eyebrow, set your liner in white paint and press making a highlight (see photo)
Now make 3 mini dots to upper right

I sometimes tell girls to use end of toothpick for this

Thumbnail by Bettypauze Thumbnail by Bettypauze
Victoria Harbour, ON

How are we doing girls??

You are awfully quiet

Maybe it's me being too chatty. Lol

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Pretty much how things are here too. My kids are soooo busy; working hard to keep their kids busy and out of trouble. With today's world the way it is, I'd rather they do that than visit with me.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

My eyes are done. Just chatting and being very patient.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Amen to that Barb
Just means making the most of our time..I vow when kids call I never ever comment on how've not seen them

Greg of course lives about a mile away, always here if I need him but I so try not to call, Mel drops in from time to time as does Kyle other than that it's me myself and i

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I also don't think they realize how much just a "Hi" means to us. But I do understand and I'm most fortunate in that I have my dearest Norm.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well, we will move on to the nose,
Do you have dark brown paint? If so just add a tad of red to it,
If not get red and add just a tad of black

Just finished bacon, home fries, we will do nose then I will show you the branches then I'll do eggs and we can eat and take 1/2 hr break, how is that?

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Well I am having Swiss cheese and crackers waiting for my nose to dry
