9th Annual DG Christmas Craft Workshop..hear those bells??

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

My SIL came to the house last Friday and we did the Snowmen luminaries. I had bought the glass block but was looking for less expensive ways to try this as well. I bought a large vase and a short squaty jar. I used my copies to reduce the size of the transfer sketch and we started....

My camera is still giving me issues so sometimes it takes pictures, and sometimes it doesn't. I did manage to get 2 out of 6 or 7 that I took so hopefully they will load ok. The little one next to the block is decked out in Seahawk hat and scarf I made and inside is a Seahawk t-shirt. I am using that as a gift at our office gift exchange. I wonder if they will discover the shirt before or after it's been thru the exchange? LOL... it's rolled tight in and jammed in the jar. I am going to include some battery operated candles to go with it.

The first one is Tina's, the next 2 are mine. Her's has the instruction sheet, piece of sponge etc as she is preparing to take it home and make more.We made 3 different sizes.

She's done! And she's "purty"! Want to take pictures of her with the lights on but I have to get batteries. My kids go through batteries like they go through food! LOL

Pat, those are so pretty! I thought of doing another but I just don't have time right now. I need to sort and start wrapping a pile of Christmas presents for 5 children and 5 grandchildren! Plus my mom and my aunt! Whew! And I still need to buy stocking stuffers!

i'll be back to post pics. got a dr. appt. this morning then going to help Destiny with the babies! ♥

Wonderful that you got it done julie..

Wrapping a few each evening will get you there

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I generally go to my sister's and wrap her gifts for her. She drags them all out with sticky labels that tell me who to put on the tags and I get on it! It has given me lovely opportunities to play pranks on her. I have access to HER wrapping paper so it's nothing to wrap a gift to someone and write on the tag that SHE gave it. VERY convincing since it is wrapped in the same paper her other gifts were in.
There was the year SHE gave her new DDIL the book "How to make love in public and not get caught" and she received from DDIL "How to train your husband using the tricks of professional dog trainers" (Did I mention that DDIL raised and showed Great Danes?? LOL)
I got to sit back and watch, "thank you for the book".... I did NOT give you that!!!! Didn't take them long to guess who the culprit was! There have been other "gifts".... But hey, she keeps having me wrap!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Silly sister Pat!!!! Sounds like a fun time could be had there!!!!!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Hehehe... it really is overdue for another Christmas prank. I'll have to put my thinking cap on.

Does sound like a lot of fun

Ocean Springs, MS

Oh, that sounds like fun. My nieces used to have a "wrapping party" with me. I'd buy them dinner and they would help me wrap presents. My sister? She doesn't buy gifts for her children. She says she supports then enough throughout the year! They're all grown, and she does contribute a lot to help them. But I couldn't imagine not giving a little something. But that's me.

Here are some pics of my girls. The woman with Elani is her Aunt Taylor. Aren't they precious? ♥

Just too adorable Julie!

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Oh my they are indeed.

My two newest greats are just 2 months apart in age, about 1 1/2. Watching them interact at Thanksgiving was a hoot.

When my 3rd son & his wife have their baby they will still be in China and I won't get to hold baby for about a year - I wish I had the time, money & health to travel there to help after the baby comes.

My youngest just got engaged and he tells me that as soon as they are married they will try to have a baby together. She has 3 daughters, youngest 7, my son has a son who is also 7 that he has custody of. I worry about them being responsible for 5 children but I understand their desire to have a child together.

I can only wait until the grandsons marry and have children..
That being said I'm NOT a baby person, now give me a 3 year old and up and I'm open heaven!

I like TEENS best (I KNOW, somebody has to! LOL)

Ocean Springs, MS

Pat, I love teens, too! I taught high school for 20 years and I loved my students! I keep in touch with many of my former students on Facebook. Now, pre-teens (10-12 years), are a different story. I coached a softball team for that age and oh, the reading hormones, temper tantrums, etc. almost driver me crazy. I love babies, but the new way that my daughter and DIL are raising theirs is so different. They refuse to let the babies cry. I didn't neglect my children, but if they were just fussy, I put them in the bed to go to sleep. Oh well, times change!

Taking pics of my snow lady tonight! 😊

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

Me too... no real bedtimes etc... how can kids learn to do what they are told when they are not even put to bed on a schedule and expected to go to sleep? My Mom used to say that "Kids that go to bed early live longer (because their parents don't kill them!) I guess when you have twins & a brother just 1 year & 4 days older, you need a little quiet time!

I hated letting a baby cry but if I had not, I doubt I would EVER have gotten my kids to sleep thru the night.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

My daughter in laws are both that way, no schedule or spanking if they are bad.

Just wanted to make note that I received everyone's contribution for the Christmas kit..

Thank you all!!

(Pat) Kennewick, WA(Zone 5b)

I really had a wonderful time making the snowman light. ended up making 2 for me & one with my SIL. I turned it around, took off the hat and put a cut out of Valentine plastic table cloth with hearts print. Works great as a night light in the living room.

Mount Sterling, KY(Zone 6b)

Thank You Betty! I really enjoyed making this and you made it so easy!
