Happy Birthday M!!! Wish you a beautiful day!

DH is at ER with DS who has a very smashed finger. Dropped a log on it, which hit his finger and pinned between that and truck bed.

ALso have a critter in the house. Nothing simple like a mouse. Is either a squirrel in the AC unit DH took out of the window....or a baby raccoon. The chatter is .....odd. Of course home alone when this happens.

Yes, I will catch it, put it in a cage and name it Fred. (just teasing)

Debbie

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Love the tree.

Debbie, sorry to hear about the smashed finger. I pray it is not too bad.

We will be waiting on pictures of Fred.

Lyndonville, NY

Finger is broken, splinted up and on way home. Getting things ready to "release Fred" when DH gets home...I hope.

Verona, ON

Aw poor Shane. He just can't seem to catch a break. Has he worked a job like this before? I know all too well how unforgiving cutting down, blocking and splitting can be.Warren put the chainsaw a huge Husky into his led I bitter cold January.

Thinking about Betty. Wish we could all be in Meaford with her. This is a show that in my notes I had written to remember to bring shorts. That arena could get very warm.

Love the tree M.

Diesel is sticking to me like glue. He is putting his leg down to take a few steps now.I've decided to move into the recliner in the bedroom because he was following me all around. Now he can rest on the bed and have me in his sight.

Waiting to see who or what 'Fred' actually is.... better you than me.

D
I chuckled M when I read the repercussions of you getting up when you can't sleep.Same story here. Heavens I can't even go the bathroom by myself.

Jean I am listening to Queen. Think I might do some Warren Zevon and 3 Dog Night later. Its like discovering dear old friends.

mulege, Mexico

Happy birthday, Marilynne.

I think insomnia is contagious.

Susan, did your tenants pay their rent? If not, have you served an eviction notice?

Just finished the latest Sue Grafton novel, "X." It is Xellent.

hugs, katie

Verona, ON

Katie I enjoyed it too. Going to start Karen Slaughter's new book Pretty Girls.I enjoy her work.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Happy Birthday M. Hope it is a good day.

Hey Dianne, listening to Ritchie Valens , Stevie Ray Vaughn, Fabulous Thunderbirds and Los Lobos.

Every time I think of Queen, I am reminded of a line from a book. "All tapes left in a car for more than a fortnight metamorphose into Best of Queen albums"

Good Omens:the nice and accurate prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett

Popping in her as I do not want to watch Lorna and her chain saw at work, and here, Shane has broken his finger !!
Best I 'buck up' and go out there ..
We had a huge limb fall out of a big Polar tree .. had been hanging up there for years .. big wind brought it down on Friday, scared the bejeebers outta me !

OMG Debbie .. perhaps a Chipper? I had a squirrel in my kitchen once, it ATE through the kitchen screen !!!!!!!!!
Phoned Gord at the firehall .. told me to close all the doors in the house, one of the guys told me to go out on the lawn and act like a nut LoL
I got it out with a broom .. duct taped the hole, and went on with life .. 2 hours later, it was BACK trying to get in .. it was August, and warm .. so, to this day I have zip doo idea why it was so intent on getting in .. thankfully, we only had cats back then ..
Good luck ..

Ummmmm .. I haven't gone to the bathroom 'unescorted' for a long time .. Lilly and I have our best conversations then LoL Love it when she recognizes words and tilts her head as if she understands every word spoken ..

AHhhhhhhhhh .. 3 Dog Night .. a favourite of mine
DH new truck has Sirius radio .. in my heaven .. told him I may move out and live in the truck LoL

The Meaford Show sounds wonderful Dianne ..
Sure hope Diesel feels beter ..

Here it is, the 3rd, and no payment of rent. If he thinks this will cause me to not pay the pad rent - HA. It was paid several days before the end of Sept, for Oct 1st lol

I'm a coward, but will put the notice on their home today. Two weeks from tomorrow they will have to be out. According to Residential Tenancy, even if they pay the rent in the two week notice period, they can still be evicted.
I sent them an email asking for particulars on that, but of course that was Friday afternoon, and they're closed for the weekend.

mulege, Mexico

Great. Let's hope and pray for the best. kb

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

They're still emailing, saying they TOLD us that email transfer isn't reliable (are they just telling me that I may refuse to receive the rent? stupid people don't know me....). I replied that their receipt is my acceptance of the transfer. However I also told them that I've already given them the banking information they asked for, for direct deposit. Still haven't received the rent.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Just got in, turned on fireplace, hot bath waiting, bowl of homemade soup then I will open my pretties, go back and read the posts and chats

Fall is here, extreme winds while I was gone..omg you should see the leaves on the ground..total change from this morning

Back in a bit

it's cold in here. Our heat is regulated by them upstairs. Bob told me, while they were away, that he spoke to them about this and they said we turned the heat on and used utilities that increased their bill. We had a frost warning on Aug 21st, with snow on the ground and another one a week later also with snow. On the night they came back, Sept 8th at 1:30 am, there was another frost warning and it was -2Celcius. You'd think they'd realize, coming from vacation in Malaysia, that they'd realize it was bloody cold and of course we had to turn the heat on. They're using this as an excuse to increase our rent, even though the original lease said they would pay for all utilities such as water, electricity and heat. The new lease mentions that they will pay these utilities, but increase them in December "just pay $30 to $50 more or whatever is reasonable" lol what's THAT mean - reasonable to whom?? Originally, when they came back, they said they normally pay $200 per month and because we're using utilities it's now almost $300. I wonder what they thought 2 adults would use, if half their amount is too much?!?!?! If it goes over $300, they told Bob, they want us to pay the difference. So, are they paying utilities, or us? Lease says they do, but if THEY use more utilities (Christmas baking, cold weather, etc) do we still have to pay for THEIR usage? what a stupid lease.

Bob's on the way to our mobile, to serve notice for non-payment of rent. They are, by law, required to pay on the 1st of each month. On the 2nd we can pay them for non-payment. We've actually had several emails from them showing INTENT to pay, but they require to be able to, by Direct Deposit saying that email transfer is not reliable. They have the option of paying in cash, with a receipt from us, by direct deposit by going into any branch of our bank (which they have the acc't info for) or email transfer. He keeps harping about Direct Deposit and not following through even though I've provided it to them in June, again in August, and now in October. They keep deleting the info........ so this is our fault HOW?
If they contest the eviction notice, we will be contacting Residential Tenancy on Monday, and likely following up with a court date (dependant upon our free legal advice on Monday or Wed. (we see a lawyer on Tues evening, but they want to talk to us about where we're currently living).

Hoo Boy, you poor people, listening to all my story......

Fall is here too - very extreme winds last night, whistling through the yard. Very pretty coloured trees, and a lot with no or few leaves

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I don't understand how they can give you one lease, then make you sign a second one? I hope you get it straightened out soon.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Had a bath, soup and now I'm all toasty..

Now to see how your day went..

"m" surprised you are thinking of spending your voucher on clothing/crocs. Lol. I'd be looking for shrubs, garden decor as it's likely 50% off..I'd be worried about Lorna out there with chainsaw as well..how is she feeling? Glad you had an enjoyable day.

Susan, totally ridiculous that people rent and don't figure their utilities will go up..if you ask me what you are paying is outrageous for what you are getting and how you have to live re privacy..right now though guess you just have to out up with it.

Here is hoping Bob can serve the notice of eviction for non payment.lin Ontario here you'd not get them out for months if not longer..looping their games end and you can get your pkace back before winter..what is happening with the legal issue of non payments of land rents, you still ok there?

Jean I love Ritchy Valens..you have such great taste in music..how is your mil?

Debbie, if it weren't for bad luck you would have no luck at all...poor Shane..guess he will not be able to work for awhile because of his injury. How are you keeping up?

Katie, seems we are all up at night, sure hope it passes. Glad you are getting to read again..did you bring a lot of books home when you were stateside.

Dianne, Lordy when did that happen to Diesel, no wonder you are not sleeping. I think there was one new vendor, wonder why more don't come??makes it boring. You sure would not have wanted shorts today, in fact I went to the ladies room about 3 times and ran my hands under hot water, couldn't feel them at all.
One stained glass vendor, small items, the new vendor was selling windows, lots of clear mottle glass on it surrounding pine trees, some had leaves, some had other embellishments, nice, expensive though.. Not sure if it was the same man, think it was, who sells rusted iron garden pieces, Lordy he was beyond expensive..normally I'd come home with something but not today..a heron was $240 and not a big heron.

Hate idea of driving 100 miles each way though..oh well, did it for a craft show so can do it for a shower.

So that was my day

Drats it's only 6pm, want to crawl in bed but know if I do I'll be up all night..that being said at least if I did go to bed I'd get 3 or 4 hours of sleep

Beautiful goodies Betty.

Lyndonville, NY

We can't find the critter! Have heard it twice....but not since the guys got home.

Move the AC unit out on the porch and looked thru it with a flashlight...nothing. AND vents
on side are too small for anything but mouse to get in it.

Don't think is a chipper....this sounds like a larger critter. A chatter like a squirrel thats really upset...or a baby coon. We looked in the dresser, see nothing. DS thinks maybe it is in
back of piano....well, can't see anything.

Can only wait till it chatters again and hope the guys can hear it.

DS is home. Finger broken, smashed on tip and bone underneath that joint broken in V shape. Has it splinted up.....and says he is going to work tomorrow!!! Tree and landscape service. Too stubborn to listen.

Cold rain and wind here also. Betty craft show in Buffalo coming up soon too.

Debbie

Victoria Harbour, ON

As long a sit doesn't come crawling in your bed tonight Debbie. Lol

Be sore trying to work with it, ouch
Nope, they won't listen to you so might as well wait til he comes homes and says how bad it hurts then you can tell him I told you so

The one in Hamburg? Not so sure that is the weekend we girls go to Buffalo
It's weekend in November right? Likely do shopping but not craft show, much the same as Meaford, always same vendors

Dianne, stopped at gramma lambs, empire apples and butter tarts found their way into out car
You couldn't move for people

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

LOL
I am so laughing here!! They haven't paid their rent, Bob said they weren't home when he delivered the notice and when they got home, this is what they emailed to me (2 emails)

On Sat, Oct 3, 2015 at 4:35 PM, Carolyn Cardinal wrote:
"You can be as nasty and annoying as you want, because at the end of the day you are the nasty little old lady whose son and daughter don't want to have anything to do with you. Seventeen years and you haven't seen your son - thats your punishment nasty old lady".

And the 2nd email:
"We are stopping email transfers because of your constant demented nonsense and going to be doing a direct debit which does not rely on us or you to complete. Your 'notice to quit' is again rather pathetic and we will post it on the community websites irrespective of the Calgary Police, whom we are also talking to."

LOL at least they called me a LADY
This is their nonsense, and if they post it on any Midfield pages, it's against the law. I will not respond to their emails.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Omg is all I can say

How did things go so wrong with them and your landlords??

Beyond words

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Keep that email, to show the lawyer.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oh yeah, I'll keep the email.

All I can say Betty, is that he has some emotional problems, and I've tried all along to be civil and do what was needed, as a landlord, giving them their privacy, etc.
The notice I gave is perfectly legal because they still haven't paid their rent, just intent to pay, which doesn't pay the bills. Telling the police won't do anything, from their viewpoint. Residential Tenancy isn't open on the weekends, so I will be checking with them as to what happens when they do pay their rent, but it's late and they've been served notice.

Verona, ON

Still cold and very windy here.

My sides are still sore from laughing at Chaos this afternoon. I had him out by himself.. the wind was whipping the leaves around like a whirlpool. The look on his face when he thought he had caught one only to have the wind snatch it away was priceless. He is 1 tuckered out little boy.

Glad to see you helping out the local artisan economy Betty. Big crowds? Sunday is always slow until after church. One year we had a terrible Sunday until about 5 minutes before closing. This lady came in with a crying baby on her hip and proceeded to spend mega bucks. That was 1 time I didn't care about packing up quickly. She was buying Christmas presents for her husband's employees.

Think I will read for a bit and hope the sandman finds me. I just watched the DVD Pitch Perfect 2. Enjoyed it just as much as the first one.

Sleep well everyone.
D

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

lol Chaos sounds priceless, with his funny looks on his fae :-)
We enjoyed Pitch Perfect, so are looking forward to Pitch Perfect 2

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Mil Is doing the same Betty. She has pretty much quit caring and sleeps most of the time. Looks like you had a sweet day. Got some nice pretties.

I liked the music in PP2, but the overall tone was coarser than Pitch Perfect. Dianne, DH and I were fortunate enough to see Warren Zevon "unplugged' in a small venue a few months before he passed away. He was delightful. We were sitting at a table maybe 10 feet away and he carried on a conversation between songs. Too Cool.

Grinning at the image of Chaos and the wind...a mix of stupefaction, indignation and disbelief...when Chester would have something like that happen he would get the same look and immediately dash after them again.

Hope all goes well with Dr, visit and you get scheduled before Thanksgiving and Christmas, Linda Kay.

Waving to you all..good thoughts for quick healing and being well.

Be safe and take care.

Verona, ON

Jean my Warren loved Warren Zevon. In fact I took a couple of Zevon's CDs into the hospital the last few days Warren was alive.

OK no sandman again tonight think I might watch the DVD McFarland or maybe just read and
listen to some music.

Duke has his face in a knot again tonight. I actually crated him for while earlier tonight. He is wanting to fight for no reason Might have to put him back on his meds for awhile.

Hope the sandman finds you all. If he does please send him on to me.
Dianne

Victoria Harbour, ON

Dianne did you send the sandman my way??

Can hear the wind just a howling..brings to mind it's time to close in the back deck and start putting things away, not fond of that but how many times have I waited and snow comes and stays in October.

.was packed Dianne, though not many walking with packages, think many go back year after year as a fall tradition.

Laughing at the image of chaos lol, he sure does bring you joy.. Not normal for you to have to cage duke is it?e new puppies,
Ugh the channels and find som
Will leave around 10 this morning,I drive to Sharon's then drive to the shower together,,will get to see The new puppies, they are a few weeks old, bet I'm tempted to get another dog after that.

Jean, must just break your heart to see her giving up and yet something within them keeps fighting for life..can go on for years in that state..hugs. How is your grandson doing?

Guess I should flip through the channels and find something half decent to watch

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

GS Jordan is doing well, Thanks for asking. He still loves his job with EA Games. Finally found a replacement car for him that he and his Grandpa could agree on. (GRIN)
Enjoy the baby shower...maybe Sharon will have an extra pup...

Dianne, I remember you mentioned Warren was a Zevon fan. I hope they are both sleeping well now. (((HUGS))).

I am not much on counting sheep....I try to make music connections...who played with what band and where did they go? Who covered "X" songs... it takes my mind off everything else and I wake up wondering how far I got. grin

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I'm sometimes successful singing lullabies to myself in my head, to go to sleep.
Sorta like counting sheep, I guess - the same 4 lullabies over and over again, until I can't remember the words and I drift off to sleep lol.........

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Looks like the night shift was busy again. I hope you all got some sleep.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Well tonight I'll try to imagine sheep singing tunes and try to 'name that tune''

Jean, I'd never qualify as a possible candidate for one of Sharon's pups..lol

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

We made it to Nashville safe and sound yesterday. Went to Publix and Goodwill when we got here. (Goodwill was having a 50%off sale).
