Best/Worse/What did I Learn today?chat with friends old/new

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone, I am back from San Antonio. Both my arthritis Dr, and pain management has finally agreed, I have 2 separate problems. A bad him from arthritis, and bulging disc, causing the pain in my leg. So the surgeon says hip surgery in October, back surgery later.

Going back to read what I missed.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

You should be able to grow them...just have to be vigilant. Check out the links below.

Thanks Jean .. WOWZA .. almost looks like my friends could be a 'hybrid' .. if that's whatcha call it ..
She just moved into this home, previous owner passed away .. she has no one to ask, has heard me talk about Daves, and sent me the pic ..
Will scope out the situation here at the nurseries ..

LK .. is it a hip replacement you'll be having ? It could well let up the pressure on your disc ..
Feel bad for you, comes a point none of the drugs work and you just are in WAIT mode ..
Saying a prayer for you ..

Well .. I did get the laundry put away, now to the vacuuming .. not like there's lots, but once I start I find other stuff to do as well ..

Onward

Plop plop, fizz fizz .. arggggg
Well .. I hope I didn't, but, I 'think' I may have knocked off the vacuum cleaner :-(
In essence, and if cross examined in a court of law .. DH would HAVE to admit to leaving TOO MANY pairs of sneakers in the living room ... grrrrrrrr .. instead of me moving them, I was vacuuming AROUND them, and, yeppers .. flippin Bissell got hungry and ate a lace !!
By the time I turned it off, I could smell burnt rubber (a belt) .. can't get the lace out either, and, I won't cut it as they're his NEW sneakers .. couldn't have been the OLD ones ..

SO .. I decide to have a shower .. brought the BARK PATROL in, locked the doors, was just stepping out of the shower when all hel* broke loose .. dogs scurrying and barking wildly .. I thought perhaps Gord was home .. course I'm nekkid .. and dressing when you're wet/damp is almost impossible .. so .. I crept down the hallway to the bedroom and looked outside
sure enough, there's a tan coloured GMC SUV in the driveway, fella is just getting into it, no idea who it was ..
Since then I have pretty much decided to call it good, one more chore, Smokey's litter box ..

SHEW .. gotta luv life huh ?

Drats "M think I will do same

Went to leave for town, car wouldn't start, brand new battery put in last Thursday, haven't used it since Sunday..got to be something draining it as nothing has been left on..roadside coming to boost it..still tempted to charge it a bit with a run to town, keep it running then drop it off at Marks to check it out Monday..of course they aren't open tomorrow..can't blame him for enjoying his weekends and especially as he and wife won several million in the lottery a couple of years ado. Lol

So like you wondering what to do, do I or don't I
Could always take a cab home right? Screws up all my well laid out plans but not the end of the world right, small in the scheme of things

"m" maybe once you remove the sneaker and it cools down it will work ok..maybe just a belt gone, easy fix..yep, would have to be the new one

Grrrr is right

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

"M" mine has a bottom plate attached with screws. Once that is off you should be able to take off the belt and pull out the shoe lace. Some hardware stores carry replacement belts for several vacuums. I try to keep a spare around as they always seem to break in the middle of the job.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Made it to town, even dropped in to Marks Auto repair

The garage that send someone to boost me noticed that my back windshield wiper was in the up position, he said that might cause car to think it's working and use up power..mark said likely could be it..for now told me to start car a few times a day to recharge and drop it off Sunday night or Monday

Fabric shop was closed when I got there so might take a run in tomorrow morning

Groceries put away, got to love food basics, stopped at staples for printer/scanner so I will try and connect it later tonight or in the a.m.

ordered souvlaki dinner with Greek salad from next door, just ready to chow down and see what the evening has to offer!

How about you guys??

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Son of a gun Betty ..hope it was just the wiper .. that being said, I guess it'll have to be repaired?

MMmmmmmmmm Souvlaki sounds good .. we had pizza, not fussy on pizza ..take it or leave it .. would love to have had a fresh tomato sammie, but, I'm reacting to the one I had yesterday :-(
Tomatoes and me, are NOT a match made in heaven, and, I love fresh garden tomatoes ..

Going to be a noisy evening/night .. young fella across the road and down is turning 40 .. so, there's a party goin on !!
We take the overflow parking in our driveway .. he always asks ,, never just assumes we'll be good with it .. super family ..

YAHOOOOOOOOOOOooooo .. I get to sleep til past 6am tomorrow .. I wonder if I'll make it ..usually I wake up to use the loo around 5, and it's like, 'BING' I am awake !!!

Have a wonderful evening all, and, a nice weekend ..

Betty, Todd says to have your alternator checked.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Yep, he will check alternator lindakay..luckily he's a friend and normally reasonable

"m" is it because of the acidity? When I eat a lot of tomatoes and cuc's I usually end up with cankers, haven't so far this year..bought corn for tomorrow, we sure will miss those fresh veggies won't we. Glad you can sleep in but with a big 40 going on you might still be awake. 😉

Was falling asleep on the chesterfield, came to bed and the Gaither Family is on so now I'm wide awake after signing along to a few hymns

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Good morning.
Don't you just love listening and singing along with them? I love the old hymns and some of the newer ones they do also
.
Just took one of three applesauce cakes out of the oven. We are having a "let's eat outside and chat" day tomorrow with some of the people in the building here. Last month when we did, I had made one with raisins. They wanted another this month and one came to the door asked if I could make one with chocolate chips instead of raisins. So I figured I'd make two cakes as I just can't go chocolate with applesauce. (Probably just me). So then I thought what about one with craisins too. Soooooo one of each!!!!

We are getting the two youngest grands today for overnight. Mom is working early in the morning and Bob, our son, is on call. So they will stay with us just in case he gets a call. He works on automatic doors and heaven forbid a Dunkies slide window is broken!!!!!

I sold my second purse yesterday and now have orders for three more. I'm happy for Christmas money!!! I will love getting Norm something he hasn't found out about through the charge card!!!!

Off to get the third cake ready. Hope everyone has a great day and sending prayers for all in need....

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sleep was a non issue here ..
We had the BIGGEST most ferocious thunder and lightning storm I can remember in my 50+ years ..
Piper and Lilly and mostly Zoey were trashed with fear .. shaking a whimpering .. couldn't stop the storm .. so, had to ride it out ..
Got well over an inch of rain .. the 40th BDay took a 90 minute hiatus, but, then came back out ... truth be told, they were not that boisterous ..

Barb .. don't think I can go choc chip n applesauce either .. but, vive la difference ..
Enjoy, and, have fun with your grands ..

Alternator could be the prob Betty .. hope it's a quick fix ..

Today is a clean up day outside, the storm did lots of damage .. branches down, wil walk the back 40, or, use the Mule, to have a look around ..

Enjoy your day

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all,

Overcast today, high of 71, don't mind it a bit! Hoping we don't get your storm "M"', sounds like a wicked one. Bet there will be a lot of cleaning to do and here you thought you would have a lazy day..poor pooches, each time it storms I think of Sailor, she was so terrified, can't imagine having 3 fretting at same time..did the rain affect the 40th?

So nice to see you post Barb, you've been missed..this weather will be a tad better for you..know how much it means to have your own $$$ for Christmas, here is hoping you sell many more, word of mouth, once the others get theirs and show them off you'll have a long order list. Did you give the tutorial any thought re helping us through a purse

Yukkk on the chocolate chip applesauce cake..enjoy your gathering

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Haven't had time to think about a tutorial Betty. I will need to give it some thought. Maybe it could be the Christmas project this year and all would have a Christmas bag!!!! No, I guess that wouldn't work for those who don't sew.
The bag orders are for ladies that I knit with on Fridays. Just pulled all the fabrics for the two bags for Dianne and the one for Sandy. The purple one for Dianne is done. One blue one and two green ones to do. Having fun with Sandy's as she said I could be funky with the fabrics! LOLOL

Victoria Harbour, ON

They sound adorable, how long does it take you to make one Barb?? Funky is good lol
Ran into Midland as I missed the fabric shop last night, shaking my head, $30.49 for 1 1/2 meters of red fabric..was at a standstill so needed it but that's a lot for what's got

Need to do a Joanns run shortly

Maybe I should do an on-line order and have it sent to Joyce for me. Hmmm

Glenview, IL

Good Morning and Good Day!

Such a big smile, Thank you about my bouquets. They were very fun to make.
I now have a very favorite place to get my silks. and wow, super fast delivery, Am highly impressed and just as soon as they get married will share a few photo's to their website.
lol, I'd love to "show off" in facebook but the bride and family all lurk there too, Si I'll have to wait till after the wedding. Betty, it is Sept 19 at 2 P.M. Wouldn't you know, that same exact morning is Jacob Graduation from Culinary! LOL, I already know it will be a day of happy tears for me.
Speaking of Jacob, I miss him so much! He has been gone for this entire month, and to be totally honest, I'm tired of caring for these animals all by myself, which I've been bad, forgot all about the pond fish till DH got home...poor things were starving.
So since being back, I slid right into the grove of cleaning, and all the inside stuff...woohoo, I am finally at the point of being able to dust and a mop down!! Also, We have had such nice weather to get outside stuff done. The weeds have taken over and so been yanking and de-cluttering the yards. My goal is to get everything in descent order to have the future in-laws to a bbq, and later the bridal party for a meeting gather...Needless to say, lol but will, I am just exhausted by 9 P.M. and crashed by 9:30.

Today in between playing with the birds, I am going to relax and read and write, Think I deserve time to myself.

Ohh, I just wanted to say M, I am so glad you Renewed your dg membership. I really enjoy reading your posts. Especially reading some of the funnies you go through...Roflol, Was laughing so hard at the doggie wearing the bra.

Karen so sorry to hear you took that fall, hope your ok now.
Also enjoyed seeing your Tree skirts! you've given me some inspiration on making a few for for my kids. Julia uses a towel and Breenie, well it will be her fist Christmas in "her"/Jayson's apartment...I just know she will go nut with decorating, lol...don't know where she gets that from, ahahha.

Well hello there Barbara, glad to see you post. Haven't in a bit and was getting worried. But, you know...I was just so happy to lurk in the sewing threads to see your baby sweaters, I sure hope you have someone, take photos of you while making them, what a beautiful gift to your future generations...Awe that is so incredibly sweet. LOL, I know how that is too, to give a gift they can't know about. For Jacob's 20'th birthday, I used the last of my "earned" money I gave him something he wouldn't by for himself. An Atlas book of The U.S.! He uses his GPS, but I think everyone should have the good old fashion Map to chart their travels.
I know you'll have a good overnight visit with the grands.

Waiving Hi Moonbeam!! How was your visit? LOL, didn't know you were traveling to Ausy? So happy, hope it was just wonderful.

Sue, yikes, sorry to hear of your accident. Hope you all are ok. So how did things go with Jessie the goat and Savannah? Well glad your back to work...

oh man laptop doing funny jumping around, so hitting send.

LOL Love that Betty. My grandmother & grandfather were like that. Both deaf enough that they would be arguing on the same side.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Sharon do's said she would show mom, told her she best think that one out..last time we were all together on a vacation 3 of us in Florida we went to michaels and bought a cross stitch, it's about 35 years ago and I still remember, said " ewe not fat, ewe just fluffy" so cute, photo of the ewe, we started to laugh, she said we were laughing at her, kicked Sharon out, I said if she kicked one out, she had to kick the others as well..trip was because weeks earlier I had a hysterectomy, Greg and Mel drove me to Clearwater so I could heal..fat chance, back to Canada we came..mom was spending the winter, think we didn't talk for a year or so

Sooo Sharon do you want to tempt fate?? Not I lol

Judy, will look forward to photo's
Lordy that will be a full day for sure, happy tears are always good for the soul
You will soon have to say 'no' to pet watching, a lot of work and responsibility

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Judy, sounds like you are staying busy. Did you enjoy the Sturgis trip?
Thanks so much for finding my son and giving him armwraps.
