Susan I agree with Betty.

Tom said she just got out of surgery and all went well..

she is in St Catherine's, about 150 miles away, it's where her doctor is..he is going down to stay a bit, going Saturday..I will give her a few days then call

mulege, Mexico

I agree with Betty, too. I think your current rental is not up to code so you probably have the right to leave with no notice but I'd check that out legally before acting or threatening.

The electrician just came by to check something out. He is confident he can repair the split a/c. A totally unexpected gift. Oh happy day. Running it on 110 may be more costly than 220 - guess it's a Mexican thing - but it sure beats taking a $600 loss.

I'm still really hot but I sure feel better.

Hugs, katie

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

hooray, Katie - that Would be great! As you say, totally unexpected gift, but those are the best kind :-D

Thank you ladies - that was my thought too, but now I have to wait until they come back (Sept 5) to discuss our options with Grace & Robert (I always say & Robert, but I know that this is all Grace and he just follows along, meekly......)

mulege, Mexico

The split a/c is fixed!!!!! I'm breathing again.

Think it's time to hibernate for a while. No more excitement, please.

hugs, katie

YEAH for A/C!!!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

hooray, hooray, hooray!!

Marcel & Carolyn just left (with their adorable daughter Gwen).
They would like to be moved out before the end of October, because he really wants to get back to the UK (Wales) to be with his parents.
We'll find out what Grace & Robert have to say about us moving out early, although I think they'll likely think they've gotten all they can from us and if Grace realizes it, she'll likely be glad to be rid of us. As it is, they've broken the terms of the lease anyway, and we can move whenever.
If it's before Marcel & Carolyn leave Canada, they'll do all the moving - lock, stock & barrel!! AND sort everything back in the mobile........ easier on the both of us, they say.

Am so confused with days and dates .. thought this weekend was the long weekend .. nope ..

My cousin posted a pic of her beauties on FBook .. and, Tara and her brood are beautiful animals .. all shown to championship .. I think that BettyJane and Sharon hve likely met in passing Betty ..

I was all confused about the holiday too "M". Of course it doesn't take much to addle my pate these days.

Quite the scene we had here this morning. I was watching one of the hummers out the kitchen window when I realized there was a doe browsing just past her in the yard. She felt no threat as she meandered her way across the yard to here and on down to the lake. They are rather common around here but still exciting to see one.

Victoria Harbour, ON

What lovely dogs "M" and yes likely they've me..does she show at Westminster Dog Show?hoping the brace will help you out..did she give reason for needing it?

Karen, got to love seeing wildlife at your back door, mine is mostly during winter.

Rogers just came, new modem, can see how much quicker things are.

Hmmm cancelled 2 bundles yesterday but today I seem to have more, what is with that??

Sitting here cutting up hockey jersey's, they are so nice, so hate to do it

Looks like we may be back in the m obile in time for our 17th anniversary (Oct 10th)
I'm going to tell Grace that this place is nowhere Near ready for occupancy (needs door, heat, and we shouldn't have to pay for extra usage of washer & dryer - $100 - when they were offering theirs for free, but because we have it in our suite they're charging extra). Did I tell you that they were going to charge $100 extra if we used any storage in their power room? Oh yes - everything was going to be "extra". They were treating us more like borders (only sleeping area is private) than tenants (our entire suite is private). That being the case, we should have our rent halved. I know they won't like what we have to say, but I will e straightforward and honest. Their are not being our friends (which they insist we are) or Christians.
I'll be SO happy to be back in our old neighbourhood where we know people......

I know it's the hassle of yet another move Susan but at least this time you will know for sure what you are getting into. Being in your own place with your own things will make all the difference in the world.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

yes - I've heard the landlords are really nice people in the m obile....... Susan & Bob, I believe their names are...
yes, we'll be able to bring my sewing machine & table in, to use. I miss sewing.....

Hi Everyone...
Geesh, I've been trying to post for the last couple of days! I actually posted 2 times and both went to cyberspace I guess. Those were due to our cloudier and windy days..
Anyway, got off to finishing up things around here. I'm also Bird and fish sitting! Yikes, just when things are done it's time to do it again, lol.

Whew, I finished the bouquet's for Heathers wedding! I think they turned out rather nicely.

I hope this goes through because usually where post gets lost, cross fingers, haha.

shaking my finger Susan, no no, ..don't want bad karma right, got to forgive??
Be so nice for you to be HOME, we are all praying it goes without a hitch

Neighbour Jamie just came over, they had borrowed one of those air jumping unit and a few seams let go, I repaired them, they are hoping they will not be responsible for 1,000 she wants him to pay..really the seam let go, canvas rot from usage..hope it works for them..wanted to pay, I said no $$$, one day it might be me needing something..as they walked the driveway the side neighbor where the cpvariety store is was having a break with stucco worker, asked if I needed my hose, nope, not right now, they've been using my water for mixing cement..think I've done the good neighbor thing this week.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

I just feel sorry for her husband & sons - they're so "whipped".... they duck their head when she comes into a room.
Her youngest son said to me, just before they left "They're taking advantage of you". I told him "I know". I just wasn't in the right frame of mind to fight back, but I've found my voice now.........

Victoria Harbour, ON

Big sigh

Cool gray day here... I like it.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Betty - in my heart I have tried to forgive, and I will eventually, but I'm in the midst of it and I was forgiving when I shouldn't, and now I'm playing "catch up" and dreading the day when they return. It weighs heavily on me, as I'm sure you can imagine.
That, and my knees are constantly in pain - I don't do stairs well, and so leaving the suite isn't an option much, except to go out in the yard and it's still somewhat cluttered with our "overflow" of stuff we can't put in the suite and is needed here so can't store it. It's not a peaceful place to go. It's lovely outside today, but all I could go out for was 5 minutes, then Remy wanted to go for a walk, which lasted for him about 7 minutes - 2 minutes up and 2 minutes down the sidewalk/stairs, and 3 minutes walk then he wanted to return. I was willing, but he needed to "go" on a neighbour's lawn...... not happening lol so back home we went where he just wanted back into the suite. It's near time when Bob gets home, so Remy's on the watch for him.

Susan .. my dear departed and ULTRA Irish Mum had a saying (one of many) .. this one I have followed and been glad I did ... it is ..
"..the LEAST said, is, the EASIEST mended ..."
MANY, and I mean MANY times I have wanted to blow my stack and give someone what for .. but, I repeated that phrase in my head .. and calmed down before I 'let loose' .. one time I was about ready to dress down my D in L .. I had to get up and go and sit in the bathroom .. calm down .. bring myself UP to the grown up level, and, hurtfully .. swallow my pride ..
Good luck with your journey ..

Dianne .. the whole freaking month of September is starting off in the weirdest way .. discombobulated am I ..

Judy .. L O V E the flowers .. blue is just such a wonderful accent colour, and that particular shade is lovely .. crafty you :-)
My wedding flowers (we won't say how long ago) .. cost over $550. .. I can't imagine what they would cost now .. mine were fresh .. I carried roses with 2 Orchids in the center ..

Made an apple pie from the apples on one of our trees .. yummy ..

Lorna's boss ( the lard arse (sorry) from down east has gone back after giving accolades to the 2 MALE students who cut the grass and do gopher jobs, told Lorna she didn't look well .. the flowers were 'OK' .. gawd, misogyny at its finest .. I hope his wife rules with an iron hand !!!

Have a wonderful evening .. off to change the Hummingbird feeders ..

~M~

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

tsk tsk tsk Marilyn........... you don't say to them, but....... I read what you said about Lorna's boss. Guess what's said in here, stays in here, eh? (hehehehe I couldn't resist).

What I have said here, Marilyn, I haven't said to her, BUT, she's got to understand that she's not following the law, and we're suffering for it. They're not maintaining basic Housing Standards, and we're financially paying for it, and it's making us broke.
I won't blow my stack, but will tell her that I require her to respect my years and my home (we're paying for it to be our home), and to please listen to what I have to say (politely). If she'd rather not listen to me, I know a lawyer who will talk to her and it won't be as nice as I will.

mulege, Mexico

Good morning everyone,

It's 7:30pm here and I just woke up. Lots of pain but not much depression so I just stayed still and then slept a lot. Tony checked on me before he left. Said helper was here briefly but Tony told him he'd have to wait to get paid. Tony is protective of me. I got up briefly around noon, then lay down and slept 6-7 hours. All the a/c stress plus dealing with the heat with little relief from the small a/c took its toll.

Feeling much better now. The split a/c is working perfectly.

The wedding flowers are beautiful.

Susan, know I am with you as you confront the landlady and her minions. It is hard to do. One trap I've fallen into is trying to confront someone who has mistreated me and then ended up defending myself because I wasn't doing it perfectly.

I'm almost ready to go back to bed. I'm tired. But not in pain. Not much, anyway.Yea!!

hugs, katie

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thank you, Katie. One thing - her husband & boys do not mistreat us. They just do whatever she says, in the family. Otherwise they say quiet. Her son said she was taking advantage of us, and Robert agreed with me that she wouldn't live in conditions without running water, or a proper fridge, and that she was calling me a liar when I wasn't
Big thing is, if she gets me on the defensive, I'll have a friend's lawyer speak to her.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Up and getting ready for another day ..
Temps are set to start climbing here .. kids go back to school this coming Monday or Tuesday .. seems almost like a common thread .. beautiful warm weather, and, the kids in school ..
Anyway 90 + is not my fave, but, it goes down into the 50s at night.

Do hope you feel better Katie .. heat tiredness is awful.
Where are you originally from ? I know LK must dream about the coolness of Michigan sometimes ..

Best get a wiggle on

Morning,

"m" schools starts this Monday? Think ours is Tuesday after long weekend, one week later than yours..will have to check on that.

You sure are getting the high temps, high of 77 here and overcast.

Whatever is wrong with that idiot overseer of the cemetery board, he deserves a good kick in the 'u' know what..think it's jealousy. When will Lorna be done for the year? Bet in many ways she is looking forward to it and you as well, you will have your road running buddy back.
Your ma'am was a wise woman 'the least said is the easiest mended' have to keep that saying close to heart!

Katie the heat you are experiencing is enough to get you down, add that to the ants and other problems, it's just not a wonder. That Tony is a sweetie for watching over you..this past year you've had so much on your plate that your body wants 'rest'

9am and I'm already bored. Lol
Nothing other than cut/trim grass this weekend so lots of play time.

Groceries this afternoon, Staples has a scanner/printer on sale, almost as cheap to buy than to buy cartridges for my old one which is bulky..will go check the package of print photo paper I bought to do photo's for Caleb's quilt and see if it requires ink jet, if so then I'll pick one up

Mind is stating to think of things to do with Joyce, Sherri and Kathy on their visit, sooo looking forward to it.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

ok, least said - I won't mention this again, here

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

I hear ya on the printer cartridges Betty .. EXPENSIVE .. and .. SMALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Mine are slowly running dry, but, my machine still prints .. kind of at a crossroads here as to whether to give up this printer (just a year old), and purchase another with BIGGER ink tanks !!

Our day is now changing .. overcast and from the looks of the radar .. we might get some thunder storms ..

Lorna will be done .. ?? .. she has asked to work til the end of Spet., would like to work into October .. but .. no answers ..
Her right knee is really bothering her .. she has a cortisone shot next week, but, I think more is going to have to be done .. perhaps arthroscopic surgery where they go in and 'clean up' any stuff floating around impeding mov't and causing pain .

Ya got me thinking now, about the return to school .. I know there has been a lot of complaints about it, but, were the Boards wait til Sept. 8th .. it would rush the school year ..?
Have heard that summer vacay may become a thing of the past in another few years .. seems kids forget too much with a 2 month break .. the year would be broken up with 2 week breaks instead .. sounds logical I guess ..

Putting off, putting away laundry and vacuuming .. best get it done .. dressing would be a nice idea as well ..

DANG me ................

A friend out west has these Lillies in her garden ..
Anyone seen them before .. not sure where to look on here ..

GAWGEOUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Poor Lorna, she's been through so much already but if it mKes life easier for her best she get it done this winter and be in tip/top shape come spring.

Oh wow "M" upsetting here as I was so envious of Bev's lilies that I started a lily garden and bought orientalist and so many more, for 2 years I enjoyed them then came the lily bug, wearing a sad face, they say once you have them you cannot grow them again..guess I could try one. This one is spectacular in color. We have a lily farm here, must drop in and show them the photo.

As for the printer, it's wireless, on sale this weekend at staples for $39.99 reg $129.99 savings of $90 so will pick one up as the photo paper says ink jet and this printer is ink jet

Now to border the back with hockey fabric

I have an anniversary in a fe months, a 60th..bought this pattern for insert, for blocks I will use the wedding blocks..adorable isn't it..

Some printer inks now come in larger capacity cartridges.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Jean, talk about beauties...do you know if I can try lilies again, not sure why after 5 or so years the bug would still be dormant

Thanks Karen, the old printer I have is so bulky that it would be nice to have the more micro one..even if I get the photo's of the quilt from it.

Had turned into a sunshine day, now all of a sudden it's overcast
