Sometimes a time apart can help fix problems. Hubby & I did that while dating. I cried rivers. Once back together it was for keeps 55 years now. If it doesn't happen, it wasn't meant to be. Both have to work at it and have give & take.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Sending hugs and good thoughts for Julia and a speedy recovery.

Still having problems with phones and power...as they repair different areas that were damaged in Monday's storm it causes losses off and on.

Betty, glad you got good help in your yard...makes that much more enjoyable for you.

Sending good thoughts for an honest resolution for you Katie. Safe trip

Playing Romper Room...waving to you all.

Morning all,

"M" Greg was bit by a tick years ago on his hip, he was deathly ill
Melanie kept telling him to get to the doc because of skin color but no he knew better
Dr. opened it up, put the piece on the counter and it walked away..yuk they thought they had it all but not, finally they had to operate and take quite a chunk out of his hip..said he could have been paralyzed. Soooo do have them check it out..hugs as I know you are fretting about the appointment.

Sunshine day here, no signs of rain until Monday

won't try and get all the gardens weeded, nope, going to just enjoy some sunshine, work on a tan lol

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone. Most of the threads are quiet this time of year. Guess they are all out in the gardens?

"M". I pray you get some answers today. I would insist that he be tested for lymes. It is nothing to mess with.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Is it getting pretty hot for you LindaKay or are you able to spend most of the day putzing it the gardens? Maybe aches/pains stop you from doing so..hope not!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

It is cool here this morning. 50 degrees. I can a little in the garden, then rest and do a bit more. I have about 8 more angel trumpets to put in bigger posts, then I am done. I have an old kids wagon I use to help me get them from one place to the other.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Can the angel trumpets go into the raised gardens vs pots?

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

actually had angel trumpets when we lived down state. They were in a protected area and even survived the winter. I didn't see them when we took my aunt home so maybe they are gone now. I so wanted to run over and hug all my trees and flowers, especially the peony's

Victoria Harbour, ON

home and memories, may you seen get to move back to enjoy family and friends

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I had them in the raised bed a few years ago. It is in full sun, and they don't like it there. So I have them all in large pots, where they get afternoon shade. I have them all potted now. 20 of them waiting to grow.

Victoria Harbour, ON

that's a full time job LindaKay moving them from place to place but am sure their beauty is well worth the effort..not something we can grow here, sure wish we could though.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

But you can I have seen beautiful gardens in Canada that have them.

Victoria Harbour, ON

Maybe in Vancouver or warmer climate areas, not so sure in my area..will have to check it out, would love to give them a try!

ewwwwww Betty - ticks - make my skin crawl, but..... walking away after being take out *shudder*

I've been busy with out home - it was viewed yesterday by a potential tenant. She likes our home and would take it in a minute, but she needs to talk to her 12 yo son because we have a 2 bedroom home and she has 12 yo and a 6 yo boys.
I must say though - our home showed very well - big master bedroom, coming complete with washer/dryer; fridge/stove; a/c; hot tub in back yard. She doesn't want the freezer (12 cu ft), so I suppose we could take with us. She likes the fact of SO much storage here, and the bench storage in the porch (which she said could be a sun room - yeah, she's right!!), and the large backyard shed could be a play house for the kids.
I think there's more to our home than she expected. She needs no furniture left, so we either take it with us, or we sell/trash it.

lol the tenant who is leaving from where we're moving to tried to force someone's hand - not sure if it was ours, or the new owner of the house (also Bob's boss (Ker)). We went by the house a week ago Sunday, just to ask if there was a separate washer & dryer for each floor (there's not). The upstairs tenant wasn't there, and I asked the basement tenant (Mike) if it was ok that we came by. He said "it's fine". He invited Bob to go downstairs to see the washer/dryer, and our friend Doug followed. Doug asked if there was a washroom, and Mike showed him. Doug didn't go, so Mike asked "you didn't need one?" Doug said "no, just curious if you have one"..........
Next day Bob's boss said the upstairs tenant said he wasn't going to leave at the end of April - he would stay until lease is up at end of June, because we didn't give 24 hours notice to view the place.
I never went inside (silly men!!), but did go onto the deck, and did talk to our new next door neighbour.
Originally I had thought we would just drive by the house, but no, Bob had to stop & ask questions, and Doug did have to get nosy.
Ah well, we can move any time now, and Bob & Ker will go by to see what damage has been done to the upstairs. I'm going to go too! I must say, the upstairs is going to need some re-decorating - it looks like they're living in a dorm room. The guy is moving into a "downsize" but he says he doesn't care, he's moving. He'd never met Ker (Ker introduced himself the first time we looked at the place), so I'm sure it's not that reason specifically that he's moving, but maybe he doesn't like having to deal with a new owner?!?! who knows, who cares. Bob & I will move in a I have a lot of stuff to do........

We also have a week's worth of camping the 3rd week of June, so that should be "special" time taking away from packing LOL

Lyndonville, NY

M...Yes, still retaining the fluids and meds not doing the job. Have a all into doc, he still wants
me to see kidney doc.

Shannon was walking across the floor, somehow ended up with severe sprain, air cast & Crutches. With her weak upper body strength, is playing havoc using the crutches and she just hurts all over.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sorry to hear about Shannon. I hope it heals quickly.

Debbie, I hope the Dr.'s can get your meds straightened out soon!

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

oh my...... Debbie - poor Shannon...... praying for her

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

GREAT NEWS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DH has a CLEAN bill of health from the hematologist (blood doc)
She is referring him to a neurologist re his UBER painful carpal tunnel .. her saw her 2 years ago, but, he is in absolute agony with it right now.
He is taking pain meds and NSAIDS, icing it, using heat .. but, just nothing will stop the ache and burning.
Have any of you had to deal with this degree of carpal tunnel ??
He quite possibly may need surgery to release the tendons ..
Will wait for Lyme Disease test when we see our family doc next week ..

Yikes, poor Shannon .. hope she heals quickly .. I hope he doc called you back Debbie ..

Lorna planted some bulbs today .. we were at loggerheads as I think she planted them too deep, guess we'll see .. :-)

More gardening tomorrow .. she is going over to start doing the neighbours property, and, I will do laundry and putz around here .. am sure less than impressed with te fact that I can hardly bend down since I had my hip replacement .. walk everywhere with a reacher close at hand ..

Night night all

great news

be back in a bit

Janice and Rita have gone for another load of fabric, actually 2 loads worth
I was so organized, now what
nice fabric, big sigh
after we sort through perhaps they can take most of it back with them and we'll throw lots in the garbage

Thumbnail by Bettypauze
(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Don't throw anything away. If there is something you girls can't use, post it here, maybe one of us can use it?

been very sick the last 4 days. going to urgent care tomorrow. .
will catch up soon. hopefully in a few days.

Victoria Harbour, ON

"m" that really s great news about Gordon, when is the appointment for your own doctor

Sue, feel for you, don't think I've ever been as sick as I was this past month...do rest

Susan, sounds like you are getting well organized re your move..it's a go for sure right?

Debbie, hard to believe with today's technology that they haven't got answers for you..how's Shannon doing, she is alone at the apartment?

Girls came back with 4 totes
We've got most of it separated, lots of flannel, fleece and Christmas fabric
They want to make rag quilts so that is our project for next week

In one bag there has to be about 50 pairs of bits cut out in different sizes, will look tomorrow at how they are done

They brought in two big boxes of patterns, I'm sneezing like the dickens so they are out between two doors airing, I don't want them so will drop them off to Salvation Army Monday

Craft room a disaster, everything was so need and tidy
Rita will drop in tomorrow and get all we are discarding and it's mostly cut up fabric the lady was doing likely to sell at craft shows

Rita says there are still boxes and boxes of fabric the lady want to get rid of

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

yes, Betty, it's a "go", for the end of June

... I was speaking to my sister Alice tonight, around dinnertime, and she told me she's Palliative re:her lung cancer... has home care for both of them because he has it tool He has a pic line so gets chemo 24/7, and she has a "pore" in her tummy to give herself a needle every day.
They give her 3 to 6 months to live...
To say I'm shaken up is mild... I'm devastated...
Please pray with me, for her, and her hubby Glen...

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Good news for Gord, M. Know you are resting easier. I can empathize with Gord and the pain in his wrist/hand. It truly felt like a door being slammed across the palm of my hand at the base of my fingers.

The surgery on my hand was for arthritis and injury induced stenosis of the flexor and extensor tendons. They had thickened so much that I could not "make a fist" easily, and if I did, I could not reopen my hand without a great bit of unpleasantness and pain.

The surgeon exposed the tendons, and basically scraped away the thickened portion of the tendon so that it released pressure and reduced swelling and inflammation of the synovial lining and surrounding nerves allowing the tendons to move through the joints again.

And from the way my hand feels after a couple days of yard work, I am very glad I have most of my post-op pain meds left.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

So sorry to hear that Susan. Good thoughts and prayers for you and your sister and her husband,

Debbie, sending you good thoughts and wishes for some solid answers and relief. Goof thoughts for a speedy recovery for Shannon.

Safe Trip Katie...Give them back the grief they have given you.

Hope you all have a restful night and a sweet day tomorrow.

Winnipeg, MB(Zone 3b)

Thank you, Jean
I'm exhausted - this news took a lot out of me....... going to sleep tonight, even if I have to take something to make me sleep.........

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning all

Grey outside, overcast, perhaps the weatherman is wrong and we will get rain vs sun

I've washed 3 loads of fabric, no
W need to be squared so that would give me some thing to do if it does rain

Susan so sorry to hear about your sister, hard when you want to be happy but then get such news, lol emotions in turmoil..sending prayers for all

Jean, it was well worth getting the surgery right. Suzanne silk had carpal tunnel surgery on both wrists, was a success..June on the other hand had an unsuccessful surgery/surgeries but she is the blame, didn't do as told..last surgery they put metal plate and bones, wasn't days she was kno
It ting for hours and doing other silly things so not the surgery for sure

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

I would imagine Alice has a 'port' to inject into .. great device .. as always, T&Ps with you and them Susan, and, of course, your move ..

Good luck with the fabric Betty .. where is it coming from?

Jean .. DH is unimpressed and non tolerant re pain and loss of sensation in his hands .. here's hoping something can be done to rectify it .. as always, we are playing the waiting game ..

Sue, almost sounds like what Crissy's Joel had .. rest and heal .. hugs ..

Best get to the laundry and makin dog biscuits ..
DH is off to cronie coffee, and, Lorna is rustling around getting ready to head over to the neighbours to start their clean up ..

Doubtless I'll be back on n on .. waving hello to everyone ..

HAHahahahaahah .. I downloaded a screensaver yesterday .. every so often a little puppy, 'Jack', runs across my screen chasing a ball .. too funny !!!!

~M~

Victoria Harbour, ON

"m" my thoughts is that she did a lot of sowing for craft shows..there is more to come Rita says

The hardest part of dealing with pain I'm sure much of you will agree is that you look 100%
well but are excruciating pain and people don't understand why you are unable to put in a day as you once did.

Smiling at your screensaver. Where did you get it from

Glenview, IL

Good morning.
Geesh what a busy week. And we are off again. Finish up, not really much left just the windows on the first level and a few other little touch-up kind of stuff.
But we are having James come and help move some big stuff and hopefully get the pier in.

Ok, so he is also bringing his 16 y.o. DD. Yes our James is a dad, a very very long story, but he just found out at the beginning of the year this girl is his daughter. So, he has been working on getting to know her, and his mom is ecstatic she has another GD...Sad part is they have watched her grow up (on the sidelines). James has asked and was denied. However, now the guy who raised her is in jail, the mom in re-hab and the older sister, now a young adult living on her own...So, James did a test and it came back 99%. He and is mom are taking care of her in the meantime. We'll see what happens when the mom gets
out. For now James is a whole new man, with a better agenda and out look on life. His DD, Trinity. She is bringing a friend...

Lets see, Julia is doing ok. Yesterday I spent the day with her. While she dosed off and on I cleaned her little kitchen. When she was up, we had a very nice visit. Boy that medicine, it did not knock her out, it revved her up, lol. She would be talking a mile a minute and then just crash! I was kind of exhausted when I got home...But she is going to be ok. it was that initial shock of having to go through such a thing, and of course they wanted $$ up front. So that really upset her, well there went my spending money...She will get reimbursed through her dental insurance. lol crossing fingers it will be soon.

Sending some Armwraps Susan. Certainly will keep you all in my prayers.

OMG, Moonbeam, I am glad you are alright after that storm. Yikes, on the clean up...
I hope the postop meds give you some relief, along with a good rest, if you can.

Hope your feeling better Sue. lots of water and as much rest as you can get.

Waiving hello to everyone, I got to get finished packing. Just have to be ready when DH is ready, lol could be hours, could be as soon as he gets up!

Need to back track and read!...oh yeah, for got to say, I have been phoneless since I left my cell plugged in at the cottage!

My mom has a lot of pain from arthritis and is in the same situation Betty. She has had to get help just dealing with the regular maintenance of her property. And she is not liking that one bit! But I guess she is going to have to adjust to a "new way" of getting things done. I told her that she should "supervise" and just give the orders. I know she is good at that! lol
I hope everyone has a good day!

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Betty .. I joined the Jaquie Lawson card site about 6 years ago .. they have amazing floral, and pet, screensavers ..
This little puppy, scurries across the bottom of my screen, sits up and looks at me, then settles down to sleep, or, chases his ball ..

Judy .. oxyies (Percocet) wire the 'H" outta me .. when I was pre hip surgery, I would take 2 at bedtime and lay in bed raring to go .. but.. since I couldn't GO anywhere (couldn't walk) I laid there travelling to all sorts of weird places in my mind LoL

Have fun with Trinity and James ..

Sheets are almost ready to hang out .. and, after 3 hours of SUN, the clouds are moving in .. sh*t !!! Oops, puppy didn't like that .. he ran off the screen LoL

Susan, sending prayers for your family and for you!
