Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Welcome friends old&new!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Congratulations to Sharon and Inuk!!! That is just wonderful for them.....

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Yay!! Inuk!!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I checked our WalMart and it's open today - Family Day - regular hours
Need to go for fabric, beeswax and.......... something else, but can't remember LOL
Thunder had sent me some beeswax, but can I find it? no..........
I need it for embroidering... :-)

oh, and the main reason we're going to WalMart lol
Bob bought some cargo pants yesterday (he knows his size so didn't try them on there).
At home he put them on, and they "fit funny" so he washed them. The reason they "fit funny"?
The knee patches were put on the back of the knee, not the front............. LMAO

Going to come back and read all the post, skimmed through them but want to go back and properly read them

girls just left, long day,

Worse: pressure in my back, didn't sit as much as I wanted
Best: girls worked hard and accomplished much, got 2 tops done, they will quilt next week
What did I learn: nice to have friends in on family day

should sweep before going upstairs and closing all down so I don't have to come back down, wondering if I've got the energy to do so

Victoria Harbour, ON

Morning
Another bitterly cold day, -28 with wind chill
Sure making use of woolie this winter..nearing end of February then March to get through and spring should be close by, got to dream right?

Katie, while we are complaining of the cold is it nice and hot there, flowers abundant. Must be so beautiful at this time of year.

Sue do the kids play baseball or summer sports..saddened you will not be continuing you education, sure wish there was a way.

Sharon, looked up piriformis, sure sounds like what I'm fighting, that and bad hip/knees, who would know aging would be so much fun

Joyce, how are the renovations going? Got to move quickly if you want to make your target date.

Jean,Pancake Tuesday , will your community do something special..horrid rain, but those attending Mardis gras won't let the weather get in the way of celebration.

Barb, has the weather improved?

"m" sure is a commitment re showing, just ask Deb

Deb, did doggy relative win?

LindaKay, can't believe one could buy a body pillow here for $10 but will go check things out

The girls did do a good job, all habpve to finish side borders in the tree runner, once they buy their backing they will send the day quilting..yep, not bad for beginners

Ohhh better get garbage to roadside

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Good morning, Betty
it's plus 23F here......... you're sure battling some cold weather!
yes, getting older is Ever So Much Fun! (NOT!)

Renfrew is having a Pancake (lunch - because the pre-school finishes at noon) breakfast. I was asked, and agreed to cook the bacon. When the ladies of Renfrew ask.......... Susan helps.
I'll have 2 sets of bacon - regular and gluten free (turkey bacon). I'm to get it there for 11:30 so they can re-heat it and have it ready at Noon.

I'm knitting a baby blanket for a friend to give at a shower. Varigated yellow/white/green.
Not needed until May, but if it's done, then I don't have to worry about it, and she's paying me to do it.
No idea what to charge. $10 for the wool, and then......... labour? 36" square, and the pattern is quite simple - K & P. Any suggestions? As anyone who knits knows, it's a "pick up and put down" kind of thing......so no specified # of hours.

Congratulations to Sharon on her group placement! I didn't get to see it, I don't have cable here, but will watch the groups on line later. She must be thrilled with that win. Fourth in the group at Westminster is a great accomplishment!
No, the half brother to my kids didn't win, but I would have been shocked if he did. He's worthy, but so many big names were there.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone.
Not too cold this morning here. It is 45. Supposed to be 53 this afternoon.

I am going to be in San Antonio wed. and Thursday for dr. follow up appointments, but I am also meeting up with Debra /Joe's wife from DG. She lives in Kansas, and is in Texas visiting family, and I get to meet up with her Thursday. It will be so nice to meet another DG family member.

northeast, IL(Zone 5a)

It's always so nice to get to meet other DG people. I'm sure that will be fun.

Here's a link to Inuk's group photo from last night. http://www.westminsterkennelclub.org/2015/photos/group/NP17999801.html

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

oh how wonderful Inuk looks, and how Proud Sharon looks!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

think Susan that was the judge presenting the award for group
in Best of Breed Sharon is hoping to beat the record..think it's 8, sooo she'll be there next year.

LindaKay, that will be so much fun for you, think you live in a zone that many members live in right?

Deb, sorry 1/2 brother didn't win..disappointing.

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Sorry - she was so far away, and I can't remember what Sharon looked like (oooooopsie)
That would be awesome to beat the record!!!!!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes Betty. A bunch of DG members live in the south. Several years ago I drove to east of Dallas and met a bunch of them. I even met Dave, the original owner of this site. It was a lot of fun.

Victoria Harbour, ON

AND lol I drove to San Antonio just to visit with you again lol

today will be a lazy day, have the electric throw plugged in and watching old episodes of Mission Impossible.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Watching the dog show now, Inuk is is the ring for non sporting group..

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Reno is at a stand still. I'm waiting for my counter paint. Can't choose the backsplash until the counter is finished. Bill abd I are "discussing" new flooring. I want hardwood and he is balking because the commercial carpet in there now was glued down. It's surely going to be a pain. I guess I could be painting. That will come.

We're at 4 degrees today. Had about 4 inches of snow yesterday.

Bill goes this afternoon for his leg ultrasound. Hope they can figure why his legs and toes keep going to sleep. Seems like it's always something with his health. Big sigh......

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

LK, is it on tv right now?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Inuk took 4th place for non sporting group! :)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Yes, they just chose Inuk for 4th place.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

(thunder)Wildwood, FL(Zone 9a)

Things will get progressively stranger as the day goes on.

Betty, there are a good half dozen or so parades here in the Baton Rouge area, but none on Mardi Gras Day. Those are mostly in the New Orleans area

Did you guys finallyget over whelmed with the weather,

i went to the ohysical therapist today and she said my injury is finallygetting beter. Inflamation is down 50%. And I am so happy about that.

DH and I celebrated 41 years married today. He had good day and joined the dogs and I for a walk today. He made it to the park bench which is about 1000 from our driveway' so that is good. All the neighbors that see him out stop their cars and say hi and give him encouragement. We live in a wonderful place but we are the oldest in the neighborhood and Mother Winter and Vern to all of our neighbors.

I have no appointment for the next 2 1/2 weeks. That is like winning the lottery.

Hope everyone is OK. Your weather is incredible. We cooled down today to 72.
