Most assuredly so Dianne. I am keeping Streak in my prayers.....
Our Callie is now completely blind and it is heartbreaking to see her bump into a wall or any object. But she is still eating and using her litter box. Sunday night we were sure she was on her way to the bridge. Her breathing was soooo shallow and she had not eaten or used her box. Norm and I took turns, lying on the floor and talking gently to her. Finally she seemed to be resting comfortably and we went to bed around 2:30 am. The next day she was very lethargic. But today she is up and about and so much more like herself. I guess it is a guessing game from now on. The vet has told us she is okay with the blindness but to keep a good watch on her. So I do!!!
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friends old/new
Oh no Barb, not your Callie as well
keeping them all in my thoughts/prayers
been working on a piece, only 16 blocks but it took me all day just to organize, cut and sew 8 blocks, likely tomorrow it will go better..know what I want to do with the liner, we'll see
Oh Barb!! My Ana - she was my last Samoyed- was blind the last 3 years of her life. Initially I was petrified for her but quickly learned she could manage herself quite well. She used her front legs almost like a cane. She would lift her legs out in front of her searching for her next safe step. It was a wonder to see. At first I would walk Stormy and leave her at home. I think the second day I heard this rustle in the bushes behind us and lo and behold there was Ana. She wasn't staying at home and missing her walks. She even swam at her usual spot and somehow knew exactly where to go to get up on the dock. Hopefully Cali will do as well. My Cricket the cat before Streak and Sassy had asthma so many a night I lay on the floor beside him listening to his breathing. Its hard isn't it? Sending positive thoughts Cali's way.
Vet just called they want to keep Streak overnight on Iv and hopefully he will pee for them. They close at 5 pm... if they had called a bit earlier I would have gone up to visit him again. They moved the clinic out of the village but it is just 10 min up the road.
All this talk of Chinese food this morning has me hankering for some. Warren made the best egg rolls. I never did write down what he put in them and I have been trying to avoid fried foods so maybe it is best I not attempt them.
Crissy how is Joel feeling today? Hope the meds kick in for him.
Dianne
Dianne, maybe with the iv streak will gain strength and can come home tomorrow..so hoping
Went to Foodland had a hankering for baked potato and whiners of all things
Sooo cold, running a bath
Going to push myself to go downstairs and do something vs going to bed early then up all night
Wow, 3 of us with pussers under the weather ..
Barb, Smokey is blind in one eye .. he gets along very well ...
He has had 3 huge drinks of water today, a smidge of solid food, but, mostly he and Gord remained bunkies with their boo boos .. we know the day is coming, could be sooner as opposed to later ..
We have gone through, gosh, many Bridge trips .. at least Smokey will reunite with some of his bosom buddies when he travels over :-)
Unseasonably warm here .. going to be 36F this weekend!!! We'll take it ...
Good luck with the sewing Betty .. I have to go to a place like 'FabricLand' and get a BIG darning needle to repair the heels of DHs sox .. the ALPACA ones .. sheesh, for what they cost they shoulda worn like iron!! BUT, I bought them for warmth, and, they are that.
Anyone have any idea about what I should look for? I have NO ordinary light bulbs to use as a support, so, this could be tricky ..
How are the job hunters doing?
How is David ??
Off to do dishes
~M~
Dianne & Streak, Barb & Callie - yes, those furries grab onto our hearts.
I still miss our Baby - and it's been 3 years.......
Baby's momma was named Smokey - we had her for 3 1/2 years before she got sick and we had to make that decision (with the vet's help). Baby mourned her momma for over 2 years.

Tonight the Board will discuss the short listed selectees, and tomorrow I will find out if I got the job or not. I hope I get an early email / phone call...... hate to wait, but a lot of time has gone by, and I know that this time will pass as well.
Oh Betty I found something at Foodland if you haven't already tried you need to do so...... go to the Bakery section and look for Gourmet Fudge Brownie Chunk Cookies. HEAVEN!!!!!!!! They are dark chocolate.
Dianne
Are you trying to fatten me up Dianne. Lol
Was thinking tonight what I'm missing is a treat..will go in and check for them, they sound delicious..wouldn't they go good with my coffee.
Here is hoping for the best Susan
Omg "M" 36f?? Get the shorts out
Dianne and Barb, i am so sorry to hear of your kitties not doing well. Sending prayers for you both.
Boy, those cookies sound good. Have one for me please?
Callie is going through another shallow breathing and we will sit with her again tonight. She will be up on Norm's bed with him. I am very restless at night but will take turns with Norm being with her. I swear that this is the last pet. I just can't do this any more. I love them so much......
David is at home and trying to find a comfortable spot in bed. He said it's not like the bed in the hospital - of course it isn't - doesn't move and position the way the hospital beds can. He did say he had his first shower and loved feeling clean again. Then our daughter got him laughing and he had to hang up the phone!!! So he is on the mend....
Had a wonderful time shopping this afternoon. We have a great Joanns in Concord which is about 15 miles from here. It is a big store, well lit and wide aisles. My neighbor Denise went with me and she was amazed at how much nicer this store is compared to the closer to us. We must have been in there for a good two hours!!! I got enough fabric, interfacing and notions to last for the next six months. Then we stopped at an old fashioned country store for lunch. Was so much fun.....
Daughter Stacy came for dinner and chat with us tonight. We don't get too many times like this and it was so nice. I miss not being closer to her but she is so busy, it probably wouldn't be any different.
Off to do my breathing machine. Have a great night everyone....
Lol Betty yeah I did get the interview call, it was for 3pm OOPS!! I figured they would call sometime before 5. It's a sales and delivery job and pays $50k but I don't know, it would be fun but I just don't know if that's what I want to do.
I had the face to face interview at JB Hunt this morning and it went Marvelous!!! I interviewed with two Representative Managers, two HR managers, and the Regional Manager hosted the interview. He started off with "Tell us about yourself!" So I started with that I was born and raised in Modesto, CA and that instantly sparked a whole other conversation, turns out everyone in that room was from Northern CA! After that conversation we got down to brass tacks, he asked me six different customer service questions, I answered the way I've always done customer service, when he was done he said, "Well, I can tell you have done customer service because every question I just asked, you answered directly on target, giving me the exact answer you should have given, and only a seasoned customer service rep would know those answers." We somehow ended up talking about Northern California again and how I ended up here, then the conversation somehow shifted to me taking Joel to San Francisco and how a true Southern Boy could handle that, we were all rolling on the floor then I said, "Well he said the other day that he likes plays!" They lost it! If Joel knew I was talking about him like that he would kick my butt! Anyway, after the interview we were getting ready to go he said, "Hey Christine, would you like to sit with someone for a little while so you can hear a conversation and learn the computer programs a bit?" HECK YEAH!!!! The guy Account Manager from Santa Cruz instantly piped up and said, "I'll take her to my area!" OK so here we go, a looooonnnng walk from one building to the next, talking about California, found someone on his team who was busy and had a difficult customer to call, 45 minutes later my brain was full, I was hungry and tired, he asked me if I still wanted to come to work there, he has two open desks on his team, I said "Oh yeah I could eat this up for lunch!" He said that I should be hearing something from HR by Friday on their decision.
Sure sounds positive Crissy, is this more to your liking? Hope you hear
Barb sounds like you took advantage of joanns senior discount, so what will be your first new project. Glad you got to spend time with Stacey..these kids nowadays sure lead busy lives
LindaKay, is it Friday you leave?
Layer down on the couch and fell sleep
Now comfy in bed, took pain meds, turned up fireplace, listening to the crackling so ikely will doze off or so I hope
I leave tomorrow Betty. I will be back Saturday.
Reading about all the pets has made me miss Tiga, a Maine Coon, she passed away January 23, 2012. She was in good health until I moved her to central AR in April 2007, the stress from the move gave her Irritable Bowel Syndrome, I had no idea cats get that stressed out, or even thought that she would get that and it being deadly to felines! Anyway, she made it to a month shy of 16, ended up passing on her own in my bed, on her blanket. I still don't have another pet, wanted to take a break so I wouldn't be glued to the house, little did I know a huge divorce was coming. Joel wants a Rhodesian Ridgeback, I want another Maine Coon but different color than Tiga, Joel's still having breathing problems and tonight he told me that he was coughing up junk all day, the Urgent Care doc called him today to check on him and said said he definitely has a hernia from coughing and it's going into his scrotum, and he's having problems peeing, so no pets until we can afford it. Good Mighty Friday the hits just won't stop.
Dianne I had a Samoyed when I was a kid!!! How long do they normally live? Snowball lived to be 11, passed away from Congestive Heart Failure while being groomed.
Bev I'm so sorry about your trip, but that might actually be better. Go in the summer when you don't have to worry about being stuck on the road for 20+ hours due to a snowstorm.
Barb so glad you had a shopping day!!! WooHOOOOOO All the goodies!!!! and you got to see your daughter. I'm wondering if David has a couch to sleep on, that might be more comfortable for him until he heals and can lay flat.
Yes Betty it is, 20 years of it. I felt so comfortable and I was coaching the girl I was sitting with a bit, she was 22, I'm 42, she was asking how to deal with this customer who always screams at her. The manager piped up again and said it's gotten so bad he's had to step in and tell the customer to not yell at his rep, there is no need for that. I told her it sounds like it's been handled properly, but I'd mute him and cuss him out LOL!!
"M" I used to have a darning egg, it was my moms. I don't know maybe a small bowl or glass?

Easter is in acouple-three months...look for one of the plastic eggs you fill with candy...that would make a pretty good substitute for a darning egg, and would work for heel or toe. I know you can find them at Wal-mart and Micheal's and probably any of the Dollar Stores.
Well heck fire, that's a great idea.
Thanks Karen. I kinda cheated...was putting some stuff in the craft closet and tipped over a small plastic tote earlier today. It had a few of the plastic eggs left from last year. M said she needed a darning egg...grin I think I paid $2 for 8 or 10 of them....if one cracks or breaks...meh.. not like breaking glass and getting cut or ruining the sock.
I used to have hundreds of them. We always had a huge outdoor Easter egg hunt every year in the woods. They don't come for that any more so I donated them to a church.
We had the Australian grands here ..gee...almost 2 years ago, they are 9 and 5. Now we are working with a new set...3 months old granddaughter Eden and her big sister stepgrand Elise 5 years old..My other grandson, the 3 month old's big brother is 20 years old
Morning
What a fantastic idea Jean, I didn't think anyone did darning anymore but with what "M" paid for those alpaca socks I'd be darning them too.."m" I'd call and tell them, they may send you another pair
Wow Jean, has it been that long already since the grands were here? Time sure flies
Crissy either of two things will happen, they will snap you up and take advantage of your knowledge or they will see you as a threat, having more knowledge then they and won't..let's hope they do
Safe travels LindaKay, one thing, you won't have to worry about weather..grands will love having grandma with them for a few nights..don't forget your shopping list for joanns
Morning Betty. May we soon have a new room? Its getting quite slow for me.
Sounds like an excellent interview Crissy. Sending positive thoughts !!
Safe travels LK.
D
