Betty if you have kitty litter, sand or salt, you can sprinkle it around your tires to melt that ice and give you traction.
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?Chat with friends old/new
Andrew said he'd be in a bit and see once he plows being and gives me a little push I'll be out, of course I'd never have made it through the mound left by municipal plow
Betty, did you get stuck?
We made the shopping trip, but, we sure were hustling .. in fact, I told Lorna to just drop me off as opposed to having get all her gear out to come in with me ..
After I posted this morning, Gord called me into the bedroom .. he just had his jeans on .. he turned, OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He has SHINGLES .. from the middle of his back in a 6" swoop to the right to his belly button !!!
Thank heavens we have a docs apt tomorrow ..poor guy :-(
Saying some prayers for Karen .. scary stuff ..
TTFN
~M~
Oh no "M", Mel's mom was leaving last week for 3 months in Florida as she is deathly ill, thought it would help being in warm weather and day she was to leave she had the shingles. She had shingle shot, has Gord, omg imune down so its easy for shingles to attack. So hope they can get meds into him quickly and it won't be long lasting.
know there would be no news this quickly but I seem to come and look
Me too Betty ---- just checking.. Hope you are all right too.....
Are you sure it is the shingles, and not an allergic reaction to his meds? I hope the Dr.'s can figure it out quickly and get him treated. How is your rash doing? I hope by now it is all cleared.
Oh no "M". I missed your post!!! Sure hope it isn't shingles. I have never had them but they scare me. Hope it is just a reaction to meds.....
No No No That's just not fair for Gord.
Still waiting for my ride. siiiigh
Karen are you going home?
I think she meant they hadn't come to take her for her cath.
So sorry for Gordon....
Betty, stay in til Andrew gets you. Baby, it's cold outside!!
Asking you all to add my brother's family to your prayers. He passed away Sunday due to complications from Chemotherapy. He had been in remission and suddenly a few days before Christmas felt bad, saw his doctor, and they started Chemo again. He became severely dehydrated and entered a downward spiral. He was 59.
So sorry Jean. Sending prayers.
Condolences Jean, Prayers for you and your family! Does the family live nearby..how very sad, 59, much too young.
Hope to hear from Karen shortly.
Andrew got me out Joyce, almost time for him to come and plow again.
Another hot toddy, bath and think I'll go find my new best friend, my bed
Thank you. No, he was in Los Lunas, New Mexico. That is about 675 miles Northwest of Linda Kay, or 1100 miles west of me.
SIL said do not come, it is snowing and some roads are impassable. He wanted to be cremated and no fuss or service.
Sending hugs Jean.
Kim's surgery went well. Unofficial report is nodes are negative. Which is a great blessing.
May mean no chemotherapy, and possibly no radiation. Have to wait official word of radiologist and oncologist. But so far looks good.
once again thanks for being here for my support. Hugs to y'all.
Let's hope for the best Thunder
Know you are hurting Jeans, sending warm hugs
Sending gentle hugs and my deepest condolences Jean. May God bless you and all your family and grant you peace.
Thunder - that is wonderful news.
Keeping Karen in my prayers.....
Wonder with it being so late in the day if they didn't put it off until tomorrow
Maybe with all of us in the room doctors can't get in, shuffle to the right gals, let's make room
Darn, fatigue and hot flashes are back. However, I am definitely getting better - just not on my schedule.
hugs, katie
Condolences re your brother Jean ..
Thunder, great news re Kim .. fingers crossed for even better days for her ..
Did Karen have the catheterization, or, is she still waiting .. the cardiac cath labs are notably busy units and do get backed up .. I thought perhaps she was waiting for a ride home ..??
Gord does have shingles, I've worked with it before, and, he is a classic case .. he isn't complaining (yet) ,, what a MESS .. I'm sure our GP will be stunned !!!
Another -40F night on the rise .. kind of wears ya out ..
Betty and Barb .. stay in and stay warm ..
Both Lorna's parents are quite ill with the flu .. her Mom saw the doc today, given nothing, nothing to be given .. has to wait it out, likely 2 more weeks !! Her Dad sees his doc on Wednesday.
Gotta really dislike WINTER ..
Hugs all round ..
~M~
Katie, glad you are improving, will take time to regain your energy for sure...little steps are a good thing.
"m" know many who had it and same, doctor says it has to run its course..wouldn't be bad to have one go around with it but this will be my 3rd time, I say 3rd only because I thought twice before it was over and done with
Someone with them?? Know Lorna is their only child right? Hard when they need care and you live so far away
How is gord tonight, he must be beside himself
Rita just called, she said yesterday she would come tonight, I answered hello and that told her she wasn't coming tonight.
Thanks to you all for your kind thoughts.
Thunder, that is such great news. I know you are so very relieved. Big hugs for you all.
Lorna's younger brother (53) lives in Tottenham or Beeton , one of the 2 .. takes him about 45 minutes to get to King City .. but, as always, busy busy with work, he's an insurance adjuster, and, winter is brutal I guess.
Her parents have super neighbours who keep an eye on them, makes us feel better ..
Off to bed ..
~M~
Still no Karen
Wonder how long she would be in recovery?
From the news tonight he'd have a lot of adjusting to do "M" mega accidents
June called, girls are canceling coming tomorrow, suppose to snow like the dickens again
omgoodness - shingles, catheters, illnesses, people passing, getting stuck in driveways......... is this a full moon? I am not being flippant - it just seems a lot is being dealt out at the beginning of the new year.........Prayers, love, and healing touches being sent to all.
Where is our Wed Night prayer circle (9pm) - we could sure use one today.......
Yes actually is a full moon, and tonight is called the Wolf Moon. Doesn't matter, can't see it here!!
Like you Betty & M, lots of cold and snow here and more on the way.
Prayers Jean and big hugs....
Thoughts with Karen also...
Ya'll...stay warm and safe and no more sickness!!!
(((((Jean)))))
Oh Karen, so hope you're just recovering from your procedure and that they didn't find really bad things!! Prayers still going up for you!
Doing another check in for Karen...
Debbie, now I've got to get up to see if I can see your moon
So stuffed up that it's hard to breath, minnow I have one of those plug in Vicks release somewhere but where?
Watching Canada vs Russia and being bad with remote, click to Stonehenge then back to hockey where for now we are winning 3-1 but that could change..head start when within 20 + seconds we made a goal
Joyce, it's like we are ll in the waiting room pacing
((( karen, Gord, Kim and Jean )))) sending you all healing energy.
I saw the moon this morning. It was a very wonderful winter moon. Full and right over the morning horizon over looking tree's and fields. It was early morning . just before dusk. When i drive the kids to school its still dark out . The moons are very pretty in the morning.
very cold and a few inches predicted. won't complain considering you Canadians weather is crazy ! wicked cold. eh ? wow.
Yes I am back checking in too and pacing.
Karen - we've filled the waiting room, watching and waiting, and praying......in a prayer circle
I copied this from Karens facebook page, from her granddaughter.
Grandma update!!! She is done having the procedure and they did find a small blockage and put a stint in. She is resting and they have her laying flat and told her not to move. It's not easy for her to do so. So still say prayers and hopefully she will be home soon.
Oh lindaKay thanks for the update, like you all I was starting to fret. Might have been harder on her than she thought it would be..we will rest with her tonight and am sure she will post in the morning..
Singing "Oh Canada". Our boys took home the gold
Wish there could be 2 golds as Russia played well.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, LK!!!
What a relief, to hear how she is doing :-)
That is all that was posted. I imagine she will be up sometime tomorrow?
Ok, can say good night....
