When life is settled a bit, I think I will. But the fact I am looking again is good.
This Looks Like A Normal Grocery Store, But When The Lights Go Out? Awesome.
It took a team of cashiers, 13 different hidden cameras, and a whole lot Christmas spirit to pull off this epic holiday surprise!
Edeka , Germany ’s largest supermarket chain, decided to surprise its shoppers with a seasonal treat.

How neat is that Susan!
I know, right?
Just hope they cancel all the "extra charges" lmao - I imagine they'd cancel the whole order and just ring it through again - and that would only take about 5 min. For the wonderful treat of the music and lights, I'm sure the customers wouldn't mind :-) I know I wouldn't!!
Likely the old humbug shoppers would!
Have seen that grocery store video, and, was amazed at the precision that was needed to keep 'in tune' .. not easy ..
Good for them though for having the will power and devotion to stick to it and produce something that lovely ;-)
Aww sweet pups .. I think one would do you a world of good Debbie, in your own time
Time for coffee, then the 2015 calendar ..
Have a good one
~M~
Morning everyone!
Betty, did you get any sleep? Please tell Darlene we are sending prayers!
Betty, what can I say except 'thank you SO much !
I was going to try and do it, but, I would have had to make them by hand .. and, with my right hand being as horrible as it is, it would have been a stretch !!
Arthritis is pitching a fit these days ...
Sleeping is almost impossible ..
Ahh well .. it'll pass (sooner as opposed to later I hope)
Again .. thanks bunches from both myself and Lorna :-)
~M~
while supplies (fabric and crystal) only takes a few minutes..did you want a few more
don't #'s, just gives me something to do
I have a swap tote to finish today, likely not mail till Monday so will mail yours out at same time. I'm going to go back through my notes of what I got when I was Queen for the month, almost think the Queen for January could be the one that sent me yellow fabric.
So pretty out there, heavy snow in the trees, sun is out and shine'ingggg away, first in awhile
perfect winter day
still in my jammies, should get out of them and at least get to the post office, expecting those panels I ordered last month..not that I'm going to do them now but don't want them returned
LindaKay, slept off and on, did sleep in till 6am though
Darlene was going up to the flea market today so I'll call her later
That is going to be a beautiful tote!
Cooling scarves? I must have missed the post on them - what are they used for, and how to make them? I imagine for sore, hurting muscles and arthritis?
No Susan I must have described them incorrectly
In the heat of summer you put them in ice cold water, the crusts swell, you put it round your nect and it brings body temp right down, then just turn it gin on your neck NDP you are cool gain
You use it over nd over, when you are finished for the summer you just leave it and the crystal go back to original size
Happy New Year dear friends!
Betty, love, love, LOVE your new furniture! The best thing with that color is you can choose any color to go with it! Red, blue, green, all will look beautiful with it!!
Susan, thanks for sharing the YouTube video! I'm forwarding that on to a bunch of friends.
Well, Bill is back at it already!! He has a broken tooth that has become infected. we went to the dentist on New Year's Eve. He gave him an antibiotic to start. Then Bill has to check with his cardiologist to see if he has to go off his warfarin to have the tooth cut out. Dentist said even if he wasn't on a blood thinner that he would bleed a lot. So we have that to look forward to in the upcoming days.
I will get Medicare this year starting in April. That will be good, but the reduction in my benefits, not so much!
Betty, thought of you yesterday. Glad you made it through the day okay. Hope Darlene is doing okay today.
Yesterday, Sherry and I started the day at the biggest Dillard's sale of the year. We actually did pretty good. Not as good as the other day, but still got some neat things at awesome prices. We were accidentally the first ones through the door, but the people behind us started running as soon as we were through. LOL, Sherry and I don't think anything is worth running for. The whole store was 50% off all clearance prices. The Coach and Michael Kors handbags were what everyone was after. Sherry got a really cute bag for a ridiculous price. I didn't find anything that rang my chimes! However, I did find a few clothes I couldn't pass up.
Later we came home and completed the traditional New Years meal. I had put pork loin in the crockpot with sauerkraut and we fixed mashed potatoes and a cauliflower salad. Had shrimp cocktail and sausage balls, too. Bill's brother is up from Florida and he and his girlfriend joined us. Then the three of them went to watch the Florida and OSU games. Sherry and I aren't fans, so we stayed here and watched a little tv.
So today the tree is coming down and I need to clean my frig. Yuk. Hate that job!
Good to see you post, Mary!
Love the puppies!
not much going on here.
Cookie sounds like a busy day for you two.
yep tree coming down here too. Part of me is happy to get back to my normal routines and the other is sad :( back to reality LOL i can't win can I ? i m such a princess !
i have two massages today but they are free ones. My fitness trainer Tiffany and her intern Ryan. I hope they can refer me to clients . so they get a free one. :)
Excellent idea!
Joyce, didn't you tell Bill that this year was a 'doctor free' year..know what you mean about getting benefits then getting $$$ reduction..they have you going in all directions but never benefiting you.
You sure are spending all your Christmas $$$..are you the bad influence on Sherry or is it the other way around?
Sue, sometimes you have to do some freebies so that they in turn spread the news about how great you are..chin up, takes a bit to get known.
About another hour and the bag will be done..need to find fabric for the closure and something for the handles..gets harder when you try to make something out of scraps/panels etc.
tummy is hungry, was off to the kitchen about 20 minutes ago then Suzanne called, think everyone gave me the day off yesterday re Roger and now all his sibblings are calling..was Robert earlier.
Melanie's soup smells good, off for a healthy snack
inside of the bag is almost as nice as the outside
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! Here's to a better one!!
I lost my job, on December 15th. I am not depressed about it at all, I could go on and on all day about how much of a mess that place is, I just have to find something else, fairly fast. Unemployment drops my pay $400 a month, and Joel isn't working very much because of these holidays, which I hate to say I am very glad they are over, so maybe we can survive. Maybe I can win Publisher's Clearing House LOL!!!
I've been trying to catch up, but I don't have a computer desk for my desktop computer, so it sits in the floor unused. This laptop I have is plagued with Malware so I can't do anything without continuous pop up ads, it opens new tabs and all kinds of things and makes it almost unusable.
On the positive side I spent the past 2 Christmas's with my dad and his girlfriend and her brood, her daughter had a baby last year at Christmastime, she named the child Lazarus, and he is as cute as a button. I thought my dad's girlfriend, Yvette, was going to come out of her skin when that name was picked. LOL!! I have a feeling he will go by Lars.
I have a 1st cousin I didn't know about, or none of us Whitney's knew about, showed up out of the blue on Facebook, he lives near St. Louis, so on one of my outside sales outings I met him and his wife Wanda! His dad is my dad's half brother Bill, who my dad never kept in touch with once they grew up. My cousin, Michael Whitney, is 50 something years old, a Chemist, a husband of 30 years, a dad, and a grandfather! Meeting him had prompted a second meeting in Joplin, MO with my unknown to me cousin or uncle or something, Bob Whitney (my dad's also Bob Whitney so that was confusing) and his wife, who have lived in Oklahoma City for eons! I wish I had known them when my mom lived in Oklahoma City!
OH!! Another biggie, my mom finally found a doc who did a massive surgery and found out why she has been in so much pain all of these years, she had 2 metal vaginal meshes inside her for 24 years!! She knows which doc put them in, but unfortunately the statute of limitations has ran out, you have to find them within 5 years of a doc putting them in. She's trying to find an attorney to take the case because that's 25 + years of her life, and she's not out of the woods yet, if she'll ever be right again. The doc took them out in September, I believe, but it's going to take a LONG TIME to heal from that because of all the nerve damage, plus a ton of scar tissue needs to be removed still.
And lastly I need prayers, my step dad is having heart problems, he will be fine for a long time, then he'll do a bunch of physical labor work and his blood pressure's bottom number will drop like a rock, his heart rate will drop to around 40 beats per minute, and he will stay sick and cold for anywhere from 3 to 7 days, then his heart rate will come back up to normal. He has had a hell of a time with doctors, they checked for blockages and found none, no heart attacks, and finally his family practitioner put a heart monitor on him for 24 hours, found his heartbeat all over the board and said he needs a pacemaker. Since he already has a heart doc he sent the paperwork over to her, she read it and said there's nothing a pacemaker would do to stop this, he needs blood pressure medicine. My mom is in a fit because she still can't do much for this pain and I am worried sick about him.
I don't think I have any more 'biggies' to update you on, I'm going to post this and do some catching up!
Hey Crissy, nice to hear an update from you. Sorry to hear you lost your job, and I hope you find another one soon. Nice to hear you found some family members. We will add your Mom and step dad to our prayers.
Hi Crissy! Wow, lots happening in your world!! Prayers being sent.
Betty, it was one each! I wanted to go to the clearance place and Sherry wanted to go to Dillards. So we're bad on each other!! But really we got good stuff, so no bad influences after all!!
I've been getting my 2015 calendar up to date. At least through June.
Now I'm ready to start on the nasty frig. Yuk. 😖 wish I had a magic wand!! Guess I'll get the IPAD going with some music. Maybe I can burn some calories while I clean!!
How lovely to see you post Crissy, we've often asked around as to how you are doing..Debbie was able to provide us with a few updates but nothing like reading one posted by you..sure did miss you.
Drats on the job and right before Christmas...you weren't that thrilled with it were you, but it was an income..once the new year is in swing I'm sure you will find something, you are very resilient..
Maybe Joel can find something even if it's McDonalds to make up the difference.
New relatives, how wonderful for you to be in contact.
Are you liking your new home? well, not so new now but still???
That is terrible about your mom, she's been in mega pain for ever it seems..shaking my head, odd that in all the tests nobody found it?
Prayers for your step-father
Joyce, I thought as much, wouldn't take much for both of you to get each other into mischief..as your penance, cleaning the refrigerator it will be.
Speaking of that, I'm caught up with everything else and should be doing same..but then if I did there would be no food in it..got to love those science projects.
Finished the DG swap tote..rather like it
have a few more of the same panels
I managed to get this one done with 1 panel, used the printed strips for the handles and had 4 blocks left..
bold in color but I like it
was thinking to myself, sure do need a trip to Joann's
I've so much Christmas fabric but not much else as stock
i'll soon run out, now wouldn't that be terrible
Ooohhhhhhhhhhh! I love it too!
Betty, I like those colors too. Very pretty!
Barb is Norm home...herd (didn't say where in new hampshire) that weather is terrible and bad pile up..hoping you are noth sitting and chatting
Omg Debbie, no I didnt her of his passing..he had quite the career
2009??? Lordy where did the time go?
Smilling as I remember riding in NASCAR race, climbing the wall at Graceland, driving up and spending time with Bev,playing in the ornfield, then onto visit with Liz/Kenny, Judy & Stve and being escorted out of town.
Lots if laughs had, great memories!
You all have some very good memories!! LOL!
Katie so glad you made it home!! My goodness what a ride! There are still good people out there, that is for sure.
Sounds like everyone had a good Christmas too!
Joel works for a cabling company, he installs HDMI cables, security systems, fire alarms, and other miscellaneous stuff like that. It's been slow because of the holidays but I have a feeling that it will pick back up starting next week. He was hired in July so this is new to us.
Yeah, that job paid good but it's just a mess over there and I am glad to be out of it. I'll dmail inquiring minds if you want to know 'the guts' LOL!
Debbie everybody needs to ride Nascar once in their lives! Haha! I am so sorry about Paul, times are tough and seem to be getting tougher. I'm glad Shane is there helping out, good for him!! And Kyle too!
Betty I do like this house, it's little, and cozy, and cute. I'm comfortable in it, but I'm thinking about, in the future, renting it out, does anyone have any experience with that?
Make sure who ever you rent to, they sign a contract. Regardless if they are friends or strangers.
One of my son's owns a house, he rents out. He has had a few problems. One tenant left with no warning. Another left, and broke a bunch of windows, also left a bunch of crap/trash in the house. In both cases they were stuck without rent for a few months. In the second case, they also had to pay out extra to get windows fixed and trash cleaned out. The house is in a different state from where they live, so they have had someone to act as property manager. First one did a lousy job. They got someone else. Things would be easier if they were closer, and could handle things on their own. DIL wants to sell it. Son does not. He says even with the hassles, he feels it was a good investment. They lived in it for three years. Then military moved him.
Having a rental property has it's ups and downs. We've had good tenants and we've had real stinkers. Wouldn't rent again to gov. subsidized tenant. Had one who really trashed the place. Gov. says they will pay for repairs then said it was normal wear and tear. Woman tore out our carpet and gov. rep said "Well it was stained" I said not when she moved in. Ruined appliances including the furnace...her kids packed it with spaghetti. Finally got her out by reporting the house as unfit for habitation. Kids were taken by CPS so her rent was no longer paid. This woman by the way had a Masters Degree and worked at McDonalds.
Tenants we have now are good they've been there for 3 years. We've had a few things here and there but mostly expected repairs.
Morning everyone,
Oh Crissy, know the work Joel is doing is not in his field but it helps..hard when jons are impacted on weather, holidays etc.
Wouldn't it cost you more to rent a place and rent out yours unless you want to relocate?
Remember dad renting his out, they got in, did mega damage and the $$$ it cost was unbelievable. He had gotten good references also but think they were from people who wanted them out of their place..if it were I id be thinking long and hard before doing it.
Crispy cold out there, you northern gals will know how it is when you take a step and it snow
cracks
Haven't been out since Boxing Day, starting to have withdrawals. .. Car needs oil change and I've no white thread.. But is it enough to getme out Lol
Not me going out. I think I'm in for the long haul. Anything I need Norm will pick up for me. This cold is not quitting soon I'm afraid. I have not been out of the house all week and next week doesn't look promising....
What a shame that people vandalize like that. Evidently were never taught respect for others.
Hope to finish straightening the house out from Christmas today and then I can play with fabric and yarn. My granddaughters gave me a basket full with yarn, needles, crochet hooks and notions. My hands are itching to play. And then I got yarn spun from the sheep Brandon delivered and had as a pet!!! It was sheared, cleaned, spun and dyed a gorgeous blue. His sheep he named Dumbledore and I think I shall make myself a vest from it and call it Dumbledore too!!!! And then there is the fabric!! Got quite a bit as well as gift cards for Jo-ann's. So I'm looking forward to a new year of play!!!!!
Morning everyone!
Sounds like your all set for crafting Barb!
good morning
rain here and cold brrrrrrr.
not looking forward to snow .crazy weather on the way this week. 50's on monday then drops to the teens and snow predicted.
im not stocked up for the winter :( just don't have the money.
BTW. I gave Bella our dog back to the rescue. She was to much for me. The rescue was not happy about and down right mean !!! They wrote up a nasty post on FB about me ! wow.
I don't know what i was thinking ? getting another dog. Im just not talking about it FB. I don't need all the opinions of people and its a conversation that is done for me and the family.
Lucy is much happier and so am I . Bella was a handful. !
Feel as though I SHOULD have 'bulging' muscles in my arms .. just back in from shovelling #2 ... and I do NOT mean poo LoL
We've had about 6" of snow overnight .. Gord and I both shovelled at 7am, and I went out myself at 9am as he is in town. Lorna has just headed out to start ploughing the driveways, and I am set to do laundry and make a meat loaf ..
Hi to everyone, batten down the hatches, WINTER has finally made its GRAND appearance !!!
~M~
Barb, your staying in won't be anything but a cheery time, to knit with wool from Brandon's sheep, how cool will that be..love to see the color of blue and gift cards from Joann's, always nice to have, have a couple, will have to make my way there end of January.
well Sue that is indeed not nice of them, wouldn't they rather see it wasn't a good mix than you keeping Bella and just can't manage her???shaking my head
Big sigh here,
did some smiling and some crying this morning, several times in fact
Decided that seeing I hadn't been out since last week that I would make a quick run into town..got oil change, not sure how it ended up $94.17 but say I need special oil
remembered that Walmart had plastic totes on sale, needed a few more of those for under the working table in my craft room and some white thread.
walked in, found one of the smaller carts, no sooner in main lobby did I take one heck of a fall, cart one way on its side, glasses under a counter and me laying on the floor..was rather embarrassed will all looking on..attendant asked if I was ok and I said yes, but drats I'm sore (nothing broken I'm sure)
Picked up what I needed and got out of there as quick as I could, sat in the car and had a little sob, how on earth could I have fallen..
Just about in the drive when I thought I really should have gone to the post office, so glad I did. I was smiling big time..a box from our Thunder (my Santa Warren buddy) and one from Annies
Opened Thunder's box, so many pretty wrapped parcels within the box
thought I'd start with the Christmas card, ohhhh knew I was going to be excited when I found a package machine needles inside.
Heart was pounding as I opened up my first package..omg, this is where I started to cry again
there was an entire Fons & Porter Dresden Tree Quilt Pattern and all the fabric to make it..now you just got to know I'm going to go through my fabric and cut her out a kit as well..just too generous, beyond generous and had that been my entire box I'd have been as happy as can be..so needed something or someone special in my life today and here was Thunder. Ièm anxious to make it..what is to stop me, I now have white thread ...
on to the next, but not without glancing at the kit, what do I find but another pattern and kit, Karen this one could make a tree skirt as well but look how pretty..Thunder put a kit of fabric together for me as well..reminds me of one of our floormats. Cannot wait to go through the fabric and see what she put together..she has a great eye for color.
I started to laugh when I opened the next package and there was a container of glitter..she knows I am the glitter queen right
Bet you are saying, what a great box
well there was a lot more that brought smiles..precious items made with her own hands..look at this miniature wreath and Christmas tree..too adorable, must go re-read about the tree (each gift had a letter)
then a box that said handle with care..
ahhhh look at this pin holder, off in its box and put away ASAP, guess who wanted it, did buy a package of toys for Missy and Riley for Christmas but they paid no attention to them, Missy has taken to this little critter..had to fight to get it back lol
Big smile with an omg,omg
could you hear me Thunder..the cutest tree ornaments made with spools, going to tell you I will be on the lookout this week for a mini tree that I can set up in my craft room for next Christmas..all these ornaments will be displayed with care..so much work and effort went into these Thunder, am honored..
Just lit one of the candles, love cranberries
did you ever see anyone so spoilt..you just got to know once I have a hot bath and eats I will be back downstairs to read the instructions on the Dresden tree
Each and everyone of these items has touched my heart
wipe a tear..just too much
Then I got to open my box from Annies
2 xmas panels I had ordered
and
casserole holder
Here I thought I would take a break from Christmas and what do you know, have so much play with..the santa panels will have to wait until I find Christmas fabric for borders
Im just too excited
Feels like Christmas today
