Oh Betty! I'm so sorry you fell. Do you know how it happened? I can't believe the manager didn't come to make sure you were ok! Sometimes you need a good cry and today was your day. Good cry and embarrassed cry. I understand perfectly.

Didn't get my tree down yesterday cause the frig cleaning took too long! Wow does it look better!

Today, sherry, Kathy and I are going to lunch and then to the movie theater. We're going to see "Big Eyes". Should be fun. It's a rainy, icky day here so the movie is a good pass time today.

Sue, sorry about Bella. I'm glad you had the sense to return her. If the fit didn't work, it didn't work!! My goodness I'd think they could appreciate that!

Wow wow wow Thunder sure did make your day! I'm definitely seeing those snowmen as a tree skirt, just adorable...Now painting with fabric?? That I can do, it's brushes that trip me up.

I love love love the ornaments made of spools how clever to wrap them with colored ribbons. Wooden spools are a rarity these days. I save any I empty. Years ago I used to thread them on a shoe lace for a teething toy, always seemed to be a favorite and could be discarded when too soiled.

Sue, I know they are all about finding homes for the dogs, but goodness they should realize it isn't good for the dog either, to be in a home that isn't a good fit. It sometimes takes a few days to see if it will work out. You gave it a try and they can't ask for more than that.

I guess there are '12 days of Christmas' for reason hey Betty :-)

As for your fall .. I kinda tend to think if it was a 'wet floor' that caused it, you should have perhaps filled out a form re injury?
If you just lost your footing, well, I'm with Joyce .. crying because of embarrassment and the shock of the fall is all A OK!
And, I do believe you will feel it tomorrow ;-(

I wish I was so crafty as all of you.

Had light snow dusting last night, nothing much. Tree is down and Shane put it out
on porch for me until Monday garbage pick up.

DD has the flu and bronchitus. Wants me to bring stuff up to her, and as much as I
want to, just don't want to bring that bug home to DH and I. He can't handle coughing
fits right now with his eye healing. Goes back to doctor the 7th....and back to work at
least part time soon after I hope. He is driving me crazy. AHHHHHHHHH

Barb, saw that traffic accident up your way....and says more snow on the way. YES, stay
in and be safe.

Regarding returning dog to rescue, is better to do NOW then after a disaster and that part is recorded on his record. Not all dogs are perfect fit for a family and this doesn't always work, so you did right. And believe me, I know!!! I had a Jack Russel terror I had to rehome after a couple weeks...just not right fit. It happens, don't beat yourself up....and don't let them beat you up.

Crissy, I have no problem with Nascar...I am just usually the Nascar girl behind the wheel. hahaha My new wheels have me in so much trouble. LOL

Back, as for the fall entirelymy fault, I usually have to use strength to push the large carts

Using the little one I think I lifted my leg and got it caught between the round metal rung and wheel, just stupid thing to do..just mad at myself for being so careless..here I'm always telling mom to be more cautious and im getting worse than she.

Had a hot bath, in my Jammie's, thought of DG friends, got queen jammies from LindaKay, put socks on that I akso received, have a candle burning that came from Dg friend, omg you are all with me today!

made a pot of soup for what ails me and now reading the Dresden plate pattern, you all know me, anxious to try it. Fabric thunder sent in the kit is soooo pretty, tempted to make the first one with fabric I have, hate to ruin the kit fabric.

Rita is going to Barrie, if she has time will purchase a large spool of threads like I get at Joanna, Tripp,e the $$ though tuned it. Small spools at Walmart won't go far

Trying to think, don't they sell the wooden spools in all sizes in craft departments?

What a wonderful box from Thunder. She sure did right by you and I'm so happy she managed to make your day for you. All the gifts were just perfect.

It is supposed to snow here later today into tomorrow so I am all snuggled in nice and warm. Norm is home now and off the roads. Thanks heaven he was no where near where that big accident was yesterday. 35 cars on a narrow road with very sudden loss of visibility. The State Police said that it went from clear to none at all in a matter of three minutes. And dry roads to slick just as fast. The poor people involved never had a chance to slow down. Thankfully, there were no life threatening injuries. That is always a worry for me when Norm is working. He spends so much time driving....

Got most of the house done now. Got some decisions to make now. We still have too much stuff for the space we have. So---- either the kids will want it or it will get donated or tossed.
Even some of the furniture has to be changed as some if the pieces are just too big for here. One of the things we will change is the kitchen set. The room is tiny and our set is large. Hope one of the kids will want it. If not, we will put it up on Craig's list. Got to downsize this computer area also. I have a fairly large corner unit with an attached file//storage cabinet. Way too big.

Time for a shower and then to start dinner. Early one tonight as we did not eat lunch....

Hi Everyone - It's very cold here - for here. And due to get worse for a few days. Like most everyone else.

I've got the flu. have had it for most of the week. Not very painful, for which I'm grateful, but I'm very fatigued. As I've just finished the radiation and have the fatigue from that as well - not to mention the drive home - I'm staying in bed most of the time. Tony has been here and will be back later today with propane and dog and cat food. Not sure how much cooking I'll be up to.

I've lost about ten pounds. No apetite and I'm not going to eat when I feel like it will just come back up.

Came into kitchen/puter room and there was a big flurry - I've been having a lot of sparrows come in to look for food. Today there was also a pigeon. It left. One of the sparrows pooped on my puter. I'm glad it wasn't the pigeon!!!

This flu seems to be serious so I'm going back to bed and not taking any chances.

You purged so much when you moved and here you thought you had what treasures you most wanted to keep nd now having to downsize again..you must worry daily with Norm being on the road in winter. A bad front going through later today, perhaps some freezing rain.

As for my Christmas box, a, still so excited about all the items..June dropped in, of course had to show her the homemade ornaments..she especially loved the spools of thread.

Oh Katie, with everything you've undergone these past few months it's not a wonder you've lost 10 lbs..aand have come down with flu, being week makes you susceptible to whatever is going around. Betty I'm borrowing your phrase, Drats Drats and more Drats. I was having a perfectly fine day today until I went upstairs to shower & dress. Accomplished most of it when I started to not feel so good. Fortunately hubby coming in the house just then looked up the stairs and asked me what was wrong. I had started down and told him I didn't feel good it was hard to breathe. He helped me the rest of the way and to my recliner. Suddenly I was sick to my stomach, broke out in a sweat and had severe chest pains. Hubby called 911 fortunately less than a mile from us. As soon as the first one walked in and looked at me he said "Load her up" I guess I was also a lovely green color. So....I've had a heart attack, scheduled for a cardiac cath on Monday. I guess I shouldn't be too surprised, I've been having episodes of shortness of breath for a few weeks but put the blame elsewhere. I expect to be right as rain shortly. Just want out of here as soon as possible, I'm a terrible patient.

Oh Karen, that is serious stuff, thank goodness for your husband being there and able to take over with calling 911 as youl likely would have put off calling as you didn't the other times you had shortness of breath and other symptoms..Are you in the hospital? Surely they didn't let you go home. You've been dealing with so much lately that I'm not surprised.

My sweet sister Susan I am so sorry about the dog issue! A gal who I've known since kindergarten in Modesto, CA and was best friends with her all the way through high school runs an animal rescue place and there is no need for that, that is sooooooo unprofessional and disgusting.
Today seems to have been a bad day for a lot of people, I got a notice that my Unemployment Benefits were DENIED because my ex-boss showed some kind of proof that I sabotaged my job and messed everything up on purpose!! I have $78.00 to my name and no interviews in sight. I can appeal it so I get to deal with that Monday morning. And I think I'll go get on food stamps too. Can anyone think of any other Government program I can get on so we can pay bills and eat?
Joel has talked about getting a second job but with this job it would be difficult, they work out of town and late and sometimes on weekends. I pray his job will pick up come Monday and I find something faster than fast!

OMG Karen. Thank heaven your DH was there and recognized that something was seriously wrong. Please do whatever they tell you. I don't like hospitals either but the benefits of staying far outweigh taking chances. I'll be keeping you in my prayers for a speedy recovery.

Lazy day here today. We had snow and then freezing rain on top of it overnight so we are staying put for sure. Might just be a day of NCIS reruns!!!! Or on demand movies. Will be an easy one for sure....

went through the kitchen. Will i ever eat those dried beans that have been in my cabinet for 4 yrs..... no.... off to the local food donation center.
the rain stopped, so i may get off my butt and get the holiday lights down. uhg. They may be donated too !
i would sell this stuff but i don't want to deal with craigs list or shipping the items out if i do amazon. ect... donations are much more satisfying to me.

Good news here. After sleeping more than around the clock I have returned to the land of the living and was promptly mauled by four furbabies happy to have mom back. The all knew I was better and we had a little celebration.

I am NOT going to try to catch up on work, play, crafts, cleaning, laundry, dirty dishes, etc in the next few hours. Another day or two or more of easy does it is in order but I'm on the mend.

So happy to be able to share this good news after some rough times.

Crissy, when you apply for food stamps, there is also energy assistance programs that will
help with heat & electric. Hear it is called HEAP. Ask. They can also put you on medical, which will help just in case it is needed.

Yes, appeal the decision. This just happened to DD, and she got her unemployment after the appeal. It was all backdated and helped her so much.

Karen, my thoughts and prayers are with you. Stay put, let them take care of you as Katie said.

Katie, you rest and take care too. Those flu symptoms can also be a side effect of the radiation, along with the fatigue. Is your body worn out and rebuilding. Listen to it....and rest. Big hug

Has anyone had any experience with painting cabinets before? I'm seriously thinking about it.

My Bob has done professional painting, so here's a start:
What type of cabinet, Joyce? If it's been lacquered, it needs to be stripped. What type of wood? If it's a china cabinet, it's been lacquered (minwax). If Kitchen cabinet, it could be MDF, Plywood, or Pine. Melamine - a light sanding, then paint.

We're heading out to a new church today - to check it out - went to the Christmas Eve service and the minister was good.

Had soup I made yesterday, going to have a hot toddy then a nap, am hoping to finish the top..only problem I'm having is the tree base, each brown/gold I use doesn't do it justice..not much fabric was left from the dresdens, they are pretty exact but I think if I used same as tree it would look nice..must make a note on the pattern, I put an extra Dresden to bottom row and 4 mini dresdens as a top layer..as for the circle, made it smaller
