Actually had a skater on our lake yesterday. He went all the way across several times. So early for this.

Omg is there enough ice?
Remember when I lived at the lake we always worried because we were up above Georgian bay and below the big chute lock so they were always leveling water thus what might have been inches of ice in a few hours the water would have eaten the thickness away

How there weren't more drownimgs by those skating/walking and snowmobiling I will. Never know

Yes, I am feeling better from the crud I had, but this bursitis sucks big time.

Nice and warm this morning, 57 right now, but really foggy. Supposed to be 70 this afternoon.

Bigfoot is up and hopping around. He wants to go out, but he can't, at least not yet. Keeping him in is tough. He doesn't understand why. Lol He is feeling better, apparently. Thanks! He has a huge garage to mope around in, so is isn't like he is locked in a closet, but try explaining that to him. :/

Yes it is heated, and they have A/C in the Summer in the office adjacent to the garage. So it is the idea that he can't run loose that is the worst to him, I am sure. lol He is such a big baby!

Sorry, I got so side tracked with Holiday happenings around here.

Yesterday was Donovan's birthday, he turned 7.
Ohwah and we actually talked to him. He sounds really good.

The girls made Christmas cookies! That was fun and I even decorated a couple.
While the little birds tend to hang on Steve and Breenie, Pegasus love to snuggle with me.
lol, the kids friends can't beleive its the same bird when he hangs with his Grandbird!!
LOL. Last night we all hung in the kitchen to watch the cookie making.

While i was going through Decorations i found a folder...Ahhh, the magic smile.
The contents were of several Letters from my Sister's Carol (Bear) and Sylvia and a note from Mumma!!
Wow, I spent the morning, reading, laughing and crying. lol my tears were that of sheer joy just to see their handwriting. It's kind of funny I would find them around now, today is Sylvia's birthday. She would have been 54. So it was fun going back in time...When I call my niece later I'll tell her about the letters!

Well i finally got all the pictures from my tablet onto my computer, hands on the hips, i m really disappointed in the quality. lol or my eyes are worse then i thought.
How fun to go back and see what i captured...

I can understand the joy and emotions you have when reading the letters..them telling you all is ok and to remember the good times

I often take out Roger's cookbook where he wrote his recipes, sometimes even his telephone book so. Can see his handwriting

Got to tell you, the week before Thanksgiving was the 1 year mark without my lil Skittles.
As I was dusting, I found one of her feathers, a red tail on the speaker behind the light.
Oh my gosh, burst into tears. I really miss her...well big baby tears swelling as i am typing this...

Whew, this hole cleaning mode of mine has me going down all kinds of memory lanes.

I'd like to thank you all for the prayers for Pamm. She had her surgery and is home waiting to start Chemo,
She has a few appointments first. waiting to see the results as to what stage 3 or 4. But they are in really good Spirits. Steve and I went to see her on Sunday. Gave her the most gentle armwrap.

Oh...speaking of birds lol up there...Julia's birthday is on the 12th...David is getting her a bird!! Not sure what kind yet, but they got a cage for a big bird. Was originally thinking a Sun Conure, but decided to go different, lol I asked her if she wanted Petrie, ROFLOL both she and David said NO at the same time.
Poor birdie lol...gotta love the little meanie.

Dave called to say Linda made it through the operation withought complication, knee and inner bones replaced..Lordy if all goes well ill never be able to keep up with her this summer on our East Coast roadtrip.

Supper is smelling mighty fine, best I eat before the girls get here..

Skittles was a precious little feather patch that's for sure ..Petrie has big claws to fill, but, I think he's doing a fine job ..
Are those sugar cookies you're decorating? I usually try to make a batc, non decorated, DH tends to eat'em as he dislikes shortbread ..
Not sure what Pam had done, but, wish her all the very best ..

Brought Christmas in today, but, the 4' prelit tree I bought last year, apparently has lost its stand?? No can find ... so .. the totes remain unpacked until we go through the dungeon, OOPS, I mean garage tomorrow .. gotta be in there somewhere ..

Gord got the paperwork for his 'bone marrow biopsy' Dec. 17 .. blood work at 10am, meet the doc who is doing it @ 1015, have it done @1035 !! Sure hope she's as good as I have heard . it's not a nice procedure by any means ..

Off to bed .. not sure what's on the tube, will find something ..

ran into a few oh oh's here
the 2 girls got their new Janome HD50F machines, had asked for quilting foot but the saleslady gave them walking foot, not good for meandering
tried to put different feet on and there is no clearance for them to quilt so it will be a call to the quilt shop in the morning, disappointing for sure..

so they are taking turns on my Janome trying to get their runner going all the while feeling badly as I'm coughing/gagging like crazy, coughed so hard I was embarrassed that I had to run upstairs as I was vomiting in my hands..shaking my head.

once they've gone I'll make a hot toddy and head to bed

Judy, it's so hard to lose our furbabies of any kind. I actually have a zip lock with dog hair from my last 2 dogs. The DH started it when I had to have one put to sleep ... long story ... Sending hugs to you tonight.

Betty they might be better off just buying the foot they want and keeping the walking foot. It does come in handy in many areas. When I bought mine 29 years ago, it was $80.

Almost done with the first week. So far, so good. I don't feel alone. Got my friends here, nice staff at my hotel and good, friendly medical people. I got some sewing done today. Stopped at a Food4Less on the way home an bought little watermelons and veggies to make a couple of turkeys. Will keep me busy tomorrow.

No plans for the weekend. There are lots of new movies out - many with good reviews - but I'm content to stick to home and Kaiser and not much else.

During our day of rain there were almost 400 fender benders - compared to fewer than 40 on a "normal" (non-rainy) day. Southern California life at its best.

Got out into the kitchen this morning, and what was on a kitchen chair? The STAND for the Christmas tree .. DH had gone out to the garage after I went to bed, and moved a few items around, and, POOF there it sat :-)

Betty, I sure do not envy you that cold, which sure sounds like bronchitis to me .. takes all your strength away because of the coughing .. not to mention your breath too !!
Hope Rita is able to get the part for the machine .. and, happy to hear Linda made it through the surgery, NOW the work begins for her ..

Taking a break to stop by and catch up on things. Actually it is so nice having music back in my house that I have just enjoyed listening and "puttering". Getting loads done on making this house now appear to be a home once again. Gads how things can pile up when one has been gone so long over the past years. Stereo system is a wireless one and the absolutely best thing I have bought myself in years!!!!!!!!!

Ah ha! Some know me well...yeap a pirate for sure on the trip. LOL, well if JD is on ship I won't complain! Have seen him up close (really) at Disney World quite by accident. Right after the second of the Pirate moves came out, he was visiting the park...wasn't supposed to be public knowledge but a very good friend of Kims phoned her and told us where to go to see him doing on off the special events for the night. He quietly replaced the Disney employee. We got some really great pictures. Oh well such is life.

M sending tons of prayers for all you are dealing with at this time. It is such a helpless feeling knowing what you are dealing with and not being able to help. Makes me realize even more how my friends must have felt when Ross was sick. Katie, same goes for you..sending love and prayers!!!

101, the weather here has been nice but this morning it is a very heavy fog...can't see the lake and that is bad!!! Today and tomorrow in the upper 70s, high 60s for Sunday but Monday maybe 60..we shall see what develops.

Waving to everyone. It's beginning to look like Christmas here also. No snow but the yard is covered with beautiful gold and burgundy leaves...a little to many as a matter of fact. One tree is up and the large tree hopefully will go up tonight. So excited about the trees as these will be the ones in 5 years. When mom was sick, Kim and I didn't do them...was impossible traveling back and forth like I was and her school work schedule.

Have been having a WAR with this computer ..
OK OK I inadvertently deleted some pics yesterday, total mistake, but, there HAS to be someway to get them back .. I downloaded a program called 'RECUVA' .. and it brought up lots of interesting pics, mostly from the Scrabble games I play, but none of the pics I wanted .. there the pics I took of myself when I had that reaction to the drug last August .. I was gunna print'em off, but, just didn't get around to it :-( MY bad ...

Lorna slept in .. so, kinda just getting in gear here ..
Have to clean up the living room before the tree goes up .. did some yesterday, but, lost my desire when the tree stand couldn't be found ..
