Well who is richer this morning "M", didn't see wo won the football game?

Did Gord think it might be too much for I'm this year? He played it last year did he not?

I'm slept out, been conversing with SIL Linda (also my cousin I was raised with)
She was in emerge with hubby Dave, she said the docs were checking him over, gave him morphine and another drug and he is higher than a kite..she is concerned for him and worried he won't be well enough to help her as she is having a knee and other leg surgery on Friday, can't have it if nobody on duty when she gets home

I should get up, have a hot bath then back into bed and try to sleep again..feeling a tad better this morning

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Green Bay won over New England, and, I'm almost positive Calgary won over Hamilton .. have to do a better look ..

Gord just tags along to help Murray and and the Elf and Rudolph .. altho, I think he's make an excellent Santa ..

Jeepers, I do so hope Dave is better and that Linda can have her surgery ..

FREEZING here this morning .. -10F WITH a wind !!
Not sure what's up today .. lots of waiting and seeing going on right now ..

Take care

Betty, what is wrong with Dave? Linda is the one that fell in Austin? Sending prayers for both of them.

Oh "M", -10 is so cold. It is 53 here this morning.

Well, I have my box ready to go to the PO today! It is going North!

Victoria Harbour, ON

screwed up with being sick this past weekend, hoping to mail tomorrow

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I see everyone has been really busy....I go into hibernation until after Thanksgiving! No way would I venture out on Black Friday not just because of the "idiots" out but it is also the weekend of the big state rivalry football game. It is here this year so things are worse than normal.

We manage to get a couple of sandwiches from the turkey but not much more. Never seen turkey go as fast as it did this year......musta done a good job on cooking it. Baked a ham yesterday so we are set for a few days. Just cooking veggies to fill out the menus.

Got the surprise of a lifetime on Saturday. When I got the mail there was a packet from Disney Cruise Lines with "reservation information enclosed" on the envelope. Double checked the address, yes correct. No clue as to what in the world was going on but I soon found out!!!! Boy did I find out. Apparently my daughter (working with my best friend in Gainesville) made reservations to take me on a cruise for my Christmas present. We will leave the 19th of December and return home on the 22nd......going on the Dream!!! I am in total shock, still can't believe it and on top of that.......taking a trip on Disney's Dream is one of my big bucket list things to do.

Need to get busy, so much to do and so little time. Apparently Kim signed us up for the "Fish Extender" activity which involves making a pocket hanger for our door for "surprise gifts" that are delivered; signed up for Pirates Night (arrrgh, now what do I wear?) plus some off ship tours on the way. I don't think I will be sleeping much between now and then...to excited. I know I am still a kid at heart but mom always said: Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional!!

Hi y'all!
Wow, so many in need of prayers. Each post I've read, I sent them along with smiles and a laugh or two.

Marilyn, I especially want you to know that y'all will be in our prayers during the time ahead. Just remember that each day is a gift, and none of us know how many we have left. Since you're a nurse, you've seen people that don't let a diagnosis stop them. Others, not so. So what I'm praying for you and Gord is for strength to face whatever comes and wisdom for the doctors and nurses who treat him. Big hugs to both of you!

It seems like everyone had a nice Thanksgiving. We did, also. Most of all, our weather has settled down. I was considering the jungles or maybe the tropics somewhere. Our south was too cold for me. Of course, the thing that changed my mind was it set in and started raining, raining and rainging. Moses said he wouldn't go to the tropics with me. LOL Today is nice, so I'll just wave and say hello so I can get out there for a walk today.

BTW, my box is on its way today! ☺

Y'all have a blessed rest of the day!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

OH Marion, how exciting is that! I know you will have a great time! Take your camera, and charger, we will be waiting for pictures!

Marion ... we crossed. Wow and double wow at your news. You'll have a wonderful time. That's such an awesome gift.

Betty, hope you're feeling better.

Katie, prayers to you, too.

Forgive me for not speaking individually to everyone.

good morning.
Marion how much fun is that ! wow. wonderful news and great surprise for you :)
can't find my phone charger.... uhg

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Thanks ladies...I am still in shock but gotta love that gal. I had told her to put her back pay into savings but she apparently she took some out for this special gift. Now just wait until I see my BFF in Gainesville and tell her it isn't nice to shock me like that. She knows me so well and that made it very easy to help Kim. BTW, I will see her the 17th as I have been invited to our garden circle luncheon. Going a day early so we can have some girlfriend time.

LK, YES I will take the camera, iPad and all will be charged. Promise pictures.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

WOW, MArion .. now THAT'S a gift!!
Where does the ship leave from? I went on a cruise from Florida to the Bahamas years ago .. it shoved off from Fort Lauderdale .. ..
ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sun is out here, but, the cold is just SO bitter I doubt we'll be going anywhere ..
Kinda waiting on phone calls re test for DH etc.

Sue, I hope you found your phone charger .. what a pain to misplace one of those.

Best make some breakfast I guess ..

TOODLES

~M~

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

M, the ship leaves from Port Kennedy (Canavaral) to us old Floridians. If I can get myself calmed down, I am sure I will enjoy. Still shocked by this gift and so excited. Guess her dad and I did something right. :-)

mulege, Mexico

Marion, that sounds wonderful. What a great daughter you have. And friend.

Things are quiet here. My room opens on a courtyard with a pond, swimming pool and hot tub. People are generally friendly. Staff is especially good.

I splurged on a sewing machine - a duplicate of the one I received for high school graduation many years ago. I've gotten a bunch of material from thrift shops and Walmart and am doing a little sewing.

First radiation treatment is this afternoon.

Have all of you gotten your shingles vacation? I was reminded about it on a thread here. I asked my doctor about it and he ordered it - after I asked. So I'm passing it on to remind your doctor if you haven't had it.

I ache all over. Needing more Norco (a narcotic) just to move around. Any suggestions?

hugs, katie

Victoria Harbour, ON

How fantastic Marion, what a wonderful gift, me thinks you are spoilt a bit. Lol
And, indeed you did do something right, Kim is a lovely lady.

"M" it was-2 this morning, no snow on the ground but it's coming again.

Sue these chargers are almost as much as the phone, well not quite but pricey non the less

Susan (101) Moses has the right idea, before you know it your area will have perfect weather.

So interested in the south that I've been watching the Civil War documentary..can hardly tear myself away from it

Victoria Harbour, ON

Katie, does the heart good to know you are relaxing, all be it you are in pain..
What a great way to pass the time of day..are you making anything in particular..place sounds lovely..hope all goes well with radiation treatment today.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Katie, thanks. Glad to hear you are doing some sewing. Sewing is my therapy....don't think I would have ever had made it through my late husbands illness if it hadn't been for very dear friends and my sewing machine. Not doing as much right now as I am trying to get things ready for the holidays. Please take care and good luck with the chemo.

Betty. I is spoilt!!! ;-)

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Hi all - lost this thread somehow?!?!
I'm trying to pack my BOX today, and can't find the wrapping paper or the craft paper for the outside! lol don't want to send it with notes all over that it's the "Christmas Decorations 2013" box through the mail lol how funny would That be? I'll figure out something for the outside, but the presents Need Wrapping lol That reminds me - when I was a kid, I used to wrap presents in the funny papers from the newspaper lol Recycling at its best! I might just wrap them in Christmas fabric lol Heaven knows I have enough of it!

I'm also mailing a present for my son & d-in-law (actually Bob's son) and the baby - he's due any time after Friday. Busy knitting a baby shawl too - 7" done, on a 36" length.......... and been doing it for 4 days now..... before Christmas it will be done!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

Here's a picture of the sleeping bag, and a closeup of the knitting pattern - I've never done a "twist 3" - was a challenge, to be sure!
I'm not sure which of the close-ups are the clearest, but it's going in the mail today!

Boy I sure missed a lot in just a few days. "M" & Katie, sending hugs to you.

Susan so exciting new baby any time.

Marion, what a wonderful surprise. Go and enjoy, enjoy. I remember being in FL and at Port Canaveral on the beach when we heard a familiar song..."When You Wish Upon a Star" on a ships horn. We ran to the Jetty in time to watch the very first Disney Cruise Ship leave port on it's maiden voyage. How I would have loved to have been on it. I think it's beyond wishing for now.

We had a very nice time downstate, Got to meet a great grand son I wasn't sure I would ever be allowed to see, let his mama know I had missed her. Not sure how many we had didn't get a chance to count but we had 6 banquet tables with either 8 or 9 chairs at each. We had some turkey, noodles, and some potatoes left over. The rest got pretty much gone including 6 pies. Managed to get a turkey sandwich as we stayed over an extra day. Our car is acting up and hubby didn't want to get on the road on a Sunday, just in case. Was a herky jerky ride home but we made it. Guess tomorrow we'll see what the damage is. Cold cold cold up here.

Kids annual fun is decorating gingerbread cookies, extra large group but all had fun.

Linda, Thanks again for the Disney fabric, Sweet Caroline was so excited.

Susan, love the variegated especially the color..
They will be thrilled to receive it!

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

We've been on a Disney cruise. Not that ship, but I believe there are no bad Disney ships. They certainly treat you like royalty!

TORRINGTON, AB(Zone 3b)

I just this moment finished the package - few Christmas presents for Marshall, ornaments for Adam, Emily & Marshall (had to get one of a stork carrying a baby, with the slogan "handle with care" too adorable!).
Now, to get the package for my Santa Warren buddy ready - going out in tonight's mail!!

Awww, I was so busy getting my package together I never even thought to wrap things pretty in Christmas paper. I hope my buddy will excuse me. It doesn't look much like a Christmas package!!

Frowning big time here ...

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

I did not wrap mine either.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

Good morning ..
I tend to think that the 'happiness' caused by these Santa Warren Packages' far outweighs whether the items are wrapped or not .. you can't really wrap happiness :-)

Really like the colour of the baby sleeping bag Susan .. very nice.

Kinda agree with Joyce, there are NO bad Disney ships :-)
You are in for a real treat Marion .. have you decided what Pirate character to be? Maybe the ship supplies the costumes ?

Gord got a call from the hematologists office (blood doc) .. apt with her is Dec. 17 .. seems so far away ..

HEAT WAVE here this morning .. +16F .. break out the 'bee kee knees' LoL
Not sure if Lorna and I are going shopping or not.
Gord's brother is coming for coffee early this morning, his wife got an a plane headed for British Columbia this morning at 6:30am .. going to a nursing conference .. so .. Gord's brother will just be hanging around waiting to come here, I told him I am always up early, so, we'll see.

Whatever you're doing, enjoy it !

HUGE hugs

~M~

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Up earlier than normal for me. Busy trying to arrange a place to set the new cabinet for the stereo system that will be installed tomorrow. So excited!!!!!! Got to finish the fish extender for our door on the cruise. Fish extender is basically a hanging pocket for surprise gifts/treats on the cruise.

What character? Those who know me better can most likely guess!!! ;-0 for those that don't know me...a pirate...what else. Pair of black pants, white peasant blouse and .......ah,ah, ah ...running shoes? LOL Nope I just happen to have a pair of tall boots for a few years back, still fit and the shape is good enough for the character night party.

Kim did tell me the cruise is considered "off season" and she was able to get a good rate through her teacher status.......doesn't matter, it was the thought that counts!! I plan to enjoy every nano second.

Hope all are doing well, staying warm and not to stressed with the coming holiday season. Pace yourselves..you are far more important!

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

Package is ready to mail. Just need to wait for Norm to do it as the temps here have dropped to where I can't go out. Will be out before the end of the week - promise!!!!!!!

Victoria Harbour, ON

"M" you sent me the cold, -14 here this morning brrrr
It's ok I'm sitting here with a heating blanket on, nice and toasty.
Might do Gord good to have you out shopping and him spending a few hours with his brother..sometimes man talk is what they need.
And if the day is warmer might the the perfect tome..
3 weeks away, guess n our health system that is quick but sure is a long tme for those waiting

Lots going on in your neck of the wood Marion, exciting things..wonderful to hear. Would your character have anything to do with Johnny Depp?

Victoria Harbour, ON

Trying to make post office today as well

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

I heard JD is to be on this cruise....just sayin!!!
