coughed most of the night and finally got up at 6:30
Threw clothes on and went down to Foodland for cough medicine, lemons and honey.
Turned up furnace abd 3 electric fireplaces and still feel the cold

My doc is away until Tuesday, practitioner who does appt in evenings isn't there until Monday when you have to be one of the first to call
But can go to walk in clinic Monday morning so if the same that is what I shall do

Did some hand sewing, relaxing and needs being done..once I have chicken noodle soup amd a nat I shall do another that is sitting to be done.

As for the girls and their machine, all is ok, ordered the spring loaded mpfree motion foot, should be in on Tuesday and all will be ok in their neck of the woods.

These are the two stockings I made this week....It felt good to sew again. I have been crocheting for my grandchildren. Will try to find pictures of those...

They turned out lovely Barb, now the fun is in filling them!

Melanie is short a sock for Kyle's girlfriend, told her about the tutorial..lots of 2. 1/2" blocks cut..how long would you say 1 took.

I know when I got my parcel and card from you last year (Santa Warren), I commented on your beautiful penmanship .. something you don't see much of anymore .. in fact, my 16 yr old granddaughter wants to LEARN how to write !!! They all PRINT or, text ..

Betty .. the soup sounds good .. think it'll either be spags or frozen pizza, Gord has gone to town to have coffee with his buds .. I tried to 'put up Christmas' .. but, got kind of teary ,, so, Lorna got the prelit tree up, and the fibre optic .. I put some of my Santas out, but had to stop, all gifts from Gord over the yeas .. I'm sure most of you know where I'm coming from ..

Well .. off to play cards .. doubtless Lorna will cream me !!

working out that knitting the shawl, I manage 2" a day (on a good day - baby wool is FINE, done over 197 stitches)...... have 14" done, and that means 7 days more, then the border to knit separately and add...... good gosh it's taking forever!!

Doesn't whip up quickly that is for sure Susan but think how lovely it will look, a treasure for new babe hand made by you

not only a treasure, Betty, but a tradition. My mom made one for each and every grandkid and ggrandkid.... Alice asked me if it was the pattern Mom made - yup!
I told Emily, and she's very pleased, too - carrying on traditions is something she loves!

I used a Jelly roll Betty. It comes 2.5 inches wide so I just had to cut off as many blocks as I needed. I used 38. If you follow the tutorial, it comes out just like hers. However, I did add on a hanger. Cut 6 inches by 1.25 inches. fold in half the whole length wrong sides together and press well. then fold each side into the middle and press well again. . hold down and stitch down the length. So easy. Be sure to put it with the ends matching up with the stocking and the loop hanging between the stocking and the cuff. Then sew around to attach the cuff and the hanger is there as well.....The whole project may have taken me a morning.....

Betty's right - I do miss the furbabies. There was a cute little dog at the medical facility last night so I got a quick hello with him.

I just finished up a small watermelon turkey for the radiation staff. Also called and made an appointment for retinal photos on Monday.

There' been a "Get a checkup" light going on in my van. One of the workers here helped me to check the fluids - water, oil and tranny fluid. All look OK. Will go in for a checkup if it persists. For now, it's kind of random.

Next week I go from late afternoon to early morning appointments. If I stick to doing what I'm here for, I'm fine. Not going to fuss about whether I get home for Christmas. If I don't, Santa will make her rounds on New Year's Day.

What a great attitude Katie, lord willing you will be home for Christmas. Have they given you any indication seeing all has gone according to plan as to if there may be a chance? Staff are sure to enjoy the turkey, kind of you to show them how they are appreciated. Bet the furry knew you were missing yours.

House cleaning is on mine. Still waiting on Sean!!! If he can't do it before Christmas, I'm going to do mine and we will do his after. He has been going to all kinds of school activities now that he is in high school. I can't keep up with him.

Barb, hope Sean does come to do the floormats, know it's a special time for you both, some together time, the best..sure miss that now with mine.

Kyle has a good looking girlfriend so I don't see him as much..to be expected but I miss him chatting away like a granny.

As for how I'm feeling, a lot better this morning..days not over but if I stay as I am I should get lots done.

just finished setting in trees on the sign I'm painting for Paul..feel good about starting it.

I just filled 24 bobbins..will work between painting and quilting and napping but still should be able to put in a good day if all goes as planned

need a cuppa also, but unlike you 'M' it will be honey/lemon and hot water

Actually I'm happy to see Mellie interested in being a girl. She was victimized several years ago and has been in a kind of shell. She refused to wear pretty swimsuits and always a shirt over them, would never wear shorts no matter how warm the weather and always chose unattractive clothes. I love seeing her waking up to what a lovely person she is.

The man was a childhood friend of her fathers who fell on hard times so was invited to live with them for a while. He used to sneak into her room at night. He never did enough to totally wake her up so she thought she was dreaming. Also a girl friend of Mellies who spent the night. She actually told a friend at school who told her parents who in turn called the police. They didn't lock the scumbag up while they were investigating and he left the state with the help of another friend.He was caught and returned went to prison but not for nearly enough time. 18 months. To see the difference in judges. My scumbag nephew did almost the exact same thing involving two little girls and is now serving 10-15. I keep track of both online.

what a dreadful story Karen..we teach kids to beware of strangers and yet most times it's family or friends..don't think 10-15 is enough!!!!

Actually I don't either Betty. I'm very bitter about him. I did for him all his life and one of his victims was one of my granddaughters when he was just 12. My parents were raising him and immediately put him into counselling so he wasn't prosecuted at that time. Sadly I found out many years later that wasn't the only time and he then taunted her for years. She didn't tell me because she didn't want to hurt me. My heartbreak and guilt are immeasurable. She was scarred for life, I can only wish him the worst life has to offer.

Karen, sorry to hear things like happen! You need to keep an eye on her.

My neighbors daughter was abused when she was 11, and she took it hard, never wanted to dress like a girl, then when she turned 15, she started dressing like a woman of the night, and still is to this day at the age of 18.

Heading downstate for the third weekend in a row. This time for my dear uncles memorial service.

I'm thinking she'll be OK as she can be. She has her mom and a wonderful big sister to keep her grounded.
Sadly yes it has happened to two of my darling granddaughters.

Heartbreaking

Hope Karen the weather is cooperating, on the dull side here but no snow

Mom is at Aunt Muriels since Thursday, but off with me, not sure why, perhaps she thinks I should call more often, have done and left messages but today she says she doesn't listen to them..oh well

She is losing weight again, not eating properly, her good frame of mind left with the weight...grrrr

Told her she could come visit it she thought better of it seeing I'm still not 100%

I can tell I'm much better, I just made lunch, hungry as I didn't eat much this week, feel up to doing things

Thanks LindaKay re painting..you must have enjoyed painting wine glasses and floormat and are not looking for something else to paint lol

Don should be here shortly to drill holes in light blocks, sure wish I had several more, project is too adorable..not so much to do this year but have them drilled ready for next year

...Oh gosh, when i went home, I saw the animal (family member) who violated my girl. I should have knocked him out...I opted to treat him as dead.
We did attempt to have him arrested, by the time we found out what happened it was three years later.
They had said it was he said she said situation and because she didn't have a witness there really wasn't anything they could do. So much for teaching her that the truth always prevails. She in the end said, He knows what he did and he will stand in judgement, until then, he has to live with himself.
Of course he denied it. My brother did not stand for it...
