Already got the floors done and now it's downstairs to cut binding for 4 tree skirts and might try making bows for closure...if I get the inding done I can sit out near the pond, hand sew and enjoy the sun.

Good morning! I won't make paragraphs so maybe won't get the wonky things! It's one of my 4 hour cleaning jobs today. Probably will give plasma later and beer 30 with Sherry. Yesterday beer 30 with Bertie. Won't be long I'll not be drinking beer any more. It's a summer thing for me. Doesn't appeal in cooler/colder weather. Best get at it! Have a great day all.

Yep Betty Lorna's contract was extended, but, because her parents are coming up, she is just staying til today as tomorrow she has a long docs appt .. the cemetery was good with that and, she told them to call her anytime ..

Trying to clean the main bathroom .. so far I have the tubsurround done, but am finding every excuse in the book to put off the vanities and terlet ..
I am SO not a housekeeper .. I do it , but I growl LoL
Lorna has said to leave the vacuuming and dusting to her .. sounds good to me as I have baking to do as well as making a pot of home made pea soup .. we usually have soup and cold cuts and buns when her parents arrive (1030am), and, since they have been up since 4am, they really just want to unpack and hit the hay .. they are 85 and 86 ..
Anyway, I'm sure I'll start to 'perk up' sometime .. kinda worrisome as I am hoping that that Stevens Johnsons hasn't done something to the mucousal lining of my stomach :-(
that is a side effect .. I see my doc on the 30th .. guess I'll just keep my fingers crossed ..

Wow- it seems like just yesterday we were all wishing Lorna good luck on her job. This summer just flew by.
Just got back from Main and will download a couple of pictures. It was a fun trip - just a couple of days - but enough for Norm and I to really enjoy the beauty there. We met friends for dinner one night and spent some time at the coast and then drove all the back roads from the coast to mountains on the New Hampshire border. A leisurely trip for sure.

Sounds like a great trip Barb! Are the leaves turning colors yet?

Awww, Dianne. Sad time here. Rudy Richard (REE-SHARD) passed away Monday. He was a master guitarist of Swamp Blues. The video on youtube was taken at Phil Brady's Bar. One of my favorite places to go for good blues.

Got the bathrooms done, went to sit outside with DH and the dogs, and went back inside after just a bit .. lord help me, the construction going on seems to reach a crescendo at around 3-4pm !! Gravel trucks using Jake breaks, and banging their tailgates .. the dogs were SPUN !!
This has been going on for close to 2 months !!!
Detours and all kinds of bumps and flying gravel .. will be so happy when it's completed ..

Busy day tomorrow .. actually for the next 10 days, I sure hope this old gurl can keep up !!!

Then when I got home db Bernie called to say he couldn't come this week, guess I've waited this long another week or so won't hurt.

just got a call from Bernice next door, some of you may remember she ran the B&B successfully for decades in her Victorian Home??

She just called and said a friend of hers is moving from the east coast to here and the house she is renting will not be available until October 25th..looking to stay with me from Oct 5th to Oct.25th - 3 weeks..would be 2 sisters and a 9 month old child..one of the ladies will be teaching high school in Midland soooo what to do what to do

guess with me being away from Oct 10th to Oct 19th it wouldn't be too bad, 5 days before and 6 days afterwards and I'd not need a cat sitter..that being said "I don't know" be Christmas $$$ though

called and left a message so likely she will call back..must let her know I've 2 kitties + girls use my house on Tuesdays

20 days for a fully furnished home. What would it cost if they stayed at HER B&B? Keep that in mind, she has the ability to provide the housing herself if SHE wasn't renting out her own home. I guess I'm trying to say don't under price it unless you have a strong desire to do this as a "favor". Also, compare price of local motel, those points of reference should help guide your decision of what to charge.

I agree with Pat, especially if there is a 9 month old running around. Make sure you put your precious items up, so they are not grabbed.

Bernice sold her home to her daughter and they built a granny suite so she no longer is in the business..perhaps I could call her and see what she thinks

well Sue dropped in, she has a 104 year old Victorian Home that she is opening as a BB this summer, filled with antiques, she works winters in Mexico so is packing up for this couple to move in Nov.1st when she leaves.

Told her $700, think that's fair, besides 2 xmas gifts for Greg/Jeff total that..if they take it I can pick up their gifts..lol

compared to her home I wasn't sure how she would take to mine but she said it was soooo welcoming and CLEAN she said..ok guess it's not the mess I thought it was. She said she was a crafter so I took her to my crafts rooms, loved it

Said because the lady works she'd not likely be home until later tonight and with time difference I'll get a call tomorrow for yea or nay, said not to worry she will be thrilled.

Hi Everyone, the surgery went well I have a "dressing" about the size of a bandaid. Night at the hospitzal was hectic; I had a very sick roommate. I gave her my teddybear before I left and she was holding it and sleeping when I checked out. I'm tired but will rest up. I see my gp on Wednesday. Will have a followup with the surgeon then head home. Probably don't need radiation but don't know for sure.
