Up n at'em ...
How things can change over the hours ..
Plans made to go for gas, and groceries, and drop off a little something to a sweet lady I know .. she can't manage her printer and wanted a poem printed off for her friend.
Sentimental me, printed it out , read it, and started to cry ..
BUT, then I really READ it .. it's a lovely poem and I can see why she wants it for her friend .. her friends hubby died suddenly a week ago ..
Gotta get DH to help me have a look at Zoey's left ear .. she be scratchin it :-(
I have oodles of cleaners for doggy ears, and some antibiotic drops .. her former owner mentioned that it's the way Zoey manifests an allergy .. her ears itch ...
LOL Karen .. I be waiting on the tutorial too .. hahahaahha .. you'd have to do a SPECIAL one for me that included definitions of the WORDS ^_^
Off to grab a cuppa
Enjoy your day
~M~
Best/Worse/What did I learn today? Chat with friends old/new
Morning all,
Oh Karenim sure within days you will have it mastered, tutorial can wait,no high pressure, we will wait.
"m" here is hoping some of the ear meds work on Zoey
I'm sure the sweet lady will be overwhelmed by your kindness
How is Lorna feeling today? Guess with being under the weather she prays for rain?
Dianne, you getting this rain? Guess its time for you to winterizing as wee
Speaking of under the weather been thinking of Debbie, hoping she drops in for an update
Waiting for news on Katie as well
Just stopped raining at least for now
Everything looks fresh after a spring rain, NOT so much in the fall..went out and picked branches and limbs, getting to be a weekly 'to do' as the winds come with the rain.
Rita was out yesterday when I called to ask her for an hour seeing as she is 6'2" and it made it so easy last fall to do winterizing the back deck so will wait give her a call this morning..thus plastic not up yet.
But I did put in a good days work
Cleaned the front deck, washed down the furniture/ cushion covers and made it inviting
Cooked turkey dinner, yummmmm and bonus is leftovers so no cooking today
Went through the entire living room and entrance, moved furniture to make sure no dust bunnies remain, dusted, made it a warm cozy fall retreat, even cleaned the two cabinets..told myself job well done.
One room at a time right!
Made it to the back shed as i knew there was fall items that need, if I keep this up I will soon have as much fall decorations as Christmas, almost but not quite. Talk about totes out in that shed..shaking my head
Time for coffee, sitting and trying to come up with a plan for the day
As I have my thinking cap on I'm looking at two wne glasses which have based warm white on them waiting for facial features, calling out paint me, paint me lol so likely today if nothing else I'll find time to do at least that!
So what is in your schedule for today?? Likely Pat will be spreading gravel
Barb spending a nice relaxing day with Norm
Joyce will bea swinging thinking of new and more enlarged gardens
Sue playing with the kids needing them to do homework, thinking about work tomorrow
Thunder if off lkely working on her hubby's quilt
Of course Karen contemplating starting the Marners piece
Bev, looking at all the work she needs to do but deciding the care of her arm is more important than the gardens
Mary, thinking its about time to find a few seconds to update us on the changesin her life
Jean, spending time with her family, catching up on the thread just waiting to help us out with a link
Judy, perhaps at the cottage enjoying a weekend away now that the rentals are done for the year
Susan, packing up as its time to head home.
Liz, likely as I pondering where she out all the fall/Halloween decorations, October is right around the corner
LindaKay, hmmmm now what would you be up to

You know us well, Betty!!
Pouring again,
Sometimes I do Joyce. Lol
Rita is on her way, excited to be one step ahead of the white stuff
Wish I was there to help! (And help eat that turkey, too!)
Helpers always welcome!
Am sure you are looking for helpers as well
Made a commitment to put 1/2 hr every day in putting garden art away, seems like an easy thing but...
I hate to think about doing that...
I have many things that need to be planted. I have 15 hostas alone to get in the ground. Other stuff as well including 3 trees. Two are small, one big.
Still sitting here in my robe....not getting much done this way!!
I started the process last night of getting the Halloween wall hanging ready. I'd love to have a SEW day but son's gravel is calling. When someone is willing to give you river rock FREE, the least we can do is get it done in a timely manner.
Our gravel is calling my name. I HATE waiting for someone else.
I bought 2 bag of soil amendment & a bag of manure. I'm going to work on that little semicircle preparing it for planting. I don't want to do too much because I don't want to cause navigating problems for the Skidsteer when it comes to spread gravel.... waiting, NOT my strong suit. I do know if he's not here and down by the end of the week I'll resume spreading gravel with a vengeance.
Church first, gotta get ready.
Morning everyone. Not doing much here. Hubby wants cabbage rolls with sauerkraut. So I am making a list and will be off to the store shortly. Dinner will be about 5 if you're in the neighborhood, stop by.
Oh yum... Wish my DH liked them more. My recipes make a ton and he likes them about once a year!!
Cabbage rolls, one of my favorites..usually make a big batch at Christmas but going away I'll not..drats LindaKay, wish I could come for supper, could keep extra turkey and drop it off to Joyce as I drive to your house..sigh..too far
back deck project went well, Rita being so tall helped..we decided she'd do the high and I'd do the low..took us a tad over an hour, why?? because I forgot to take all the things off the posts..lol now it's done might be able to put some back up once I pick up more slats, that I had some under the deck but then remembered I said I'd buy new this year..will have lunch and then see if I'm ambitious enough to go to home depot so I can finish the job..need some for horizontal beams, wind is so strong it pushes plastic in so I made sure the plastic is well secured where I'm able..
sad day, says winters coming..miss my backyard view..now only where the door is can I take a peak.
But just think how cozy it will be when the wind starts blowing. Will be especially nice for the Kitties on a cold but sunny day.
Hope all is well with Katie, Judy , Debbie, and Mary....as well as all of you.
Dianne must still be wrestling with a decision....must be a tough one.
Yes, I'll be pleased for sue, just for some reason this year I'm hating the thought of the cold..
Know the rain / dampness makes my bones ache but winter cold even more so
Deb, is your furry still with the trainer? Sharon believe there are 5-7 little ones in this mom's 1st liter.
Mom had my brother visit with her this morning so am tempted to stay home and get the wood tomorrow. She wants to go to Rona to look at flooring/tile
Sharon has great taste but mom want to pick her own....grrrrr
So
So maybe a hot bath then will go downstairs and see if I can clean/organize a bit
I can only be creative when it's neat. Do you believe that? Lol
Went back in time via this thread, last year "M" got the white stuff on oct 21st, I got it Oct 23rd
Closed in back deck Nov.17th after having several wild snow storms so sitting pretty this aft...now watch us get a longggg Indian summer
Debbie, you got enough Christmas decorations?? Found a miniature sleigh a d reindeer set, thought I'd trade you for my swap boxes by bringing some Xmas items?? Game or do you have enough?
Betty, why not move to the south fr the winter? It would be easier on your bones that don't like the cold!
wish I could...insurance would be in the thousands
nope, will keep heat up, watch the flakes and just enjoy!
Besides I'd miss everyone too much
Enjoy my 10 days mid October, 2 weeks at Christmas, 10 days at the end of March/April and my odd get-a-ways I do
I always pick one big project to do in January, think it will be painting and decorating living room, do need new furniture and would love to paint and do up the craft room..before you know it Winter would be gone.
I just cry a lot about it but really it is nice most days, love seeing kids snowmobiling, skiing, sleding..dropping in for eats
1/2 way through tidying up the craft room then I think I shall call it a day..happy with what I've gotten done, see the quilt on the frame and no quilting but it will jus have to wait..few rows each day.
When you get ready to paint another linoleum rug, would you post the tutorial? I would love to learn how it is done!
I did do a tutorial before, it was on a checkered one, more taping than usual but it made it simpler for those who have difficulties designing..on here somewhere but where lol
I did it step by step
was black/white check with red in it..was on back deck, that's the one I put to the garbage
will though do step by step again when I decide what colors and matching design I want
This message was edited Sep 21, 2014 3:40 PM
That just might be a Christmas project, LK. If each person got the linoleum or if not available, plain vinyl flooring, then Betty could design/send a template....and a tutorial on how to do a Christmas Welcome mat, or a rug.
That would be awesome!
well there you go, talk about a plan
could price out how much a piece is to ship, might be easier than everyone finding it as likely it would cost more buying a small piece as they cut length of entire roll
for just a Christmas piece it could be 2' x 3'
ah ha, that Jean comes out with some great ideas
all of a sudden my mind thought of a snowman runner, in my mind I've already come up with a simplified method
wonder if I have any here that I could do up, think girls would enjoy doing one????
or
the gourd snowman
think if I can keep my wits about me tonight I'll start a thread and get everyone's opinion
Karen, in a box while cleaning I found my 1st paper pieceing..was a miniature
well believe it or not this is a clean craft room lol
can't believe just how much under the tables in totes/bags belong to the girls who come to paint/sew, rather than bring their things home here it stays..don't really mind, just harder to organize and clean
Betty you can get the long triangle boxes to ship that linoleum. I don't know if it is a flat rate or by the pound.
they would need to be rolled so it would be 3 feet tall but a small roll
one never knows, might be a project to do state side, you know I can't just sit
could cut them all up but I'd have to make the thread to see how many NOW, well not right now, deadline would have to be October 12 that way I could put kits together and wouldn't worry about crossing over to Buffalo until beginning of November
my weekends are starting to be at a premium
Couldn't we buy a scrap piece from places like 2nd Chance, Habitat for Humanity "Restore"? No shipping involved that way other than a drawing or something like that that could be folded or scanned?
Hi - just got home & had dinner.
We've been away for the weekend, but now am back and ready to sew lol
Only "adventure" we had this time was me leaving the cooler/fridge plugged into the cehicle and letting the battery drain...... borrowed a trickle charger from the campground managers & "3rd time's a charm" found the right battery was the 3rd one we tried. The other 2 are for the RV.......
Bet you hated to come home Susan...always something when you are camping..did the weather cooperate?
pat you could but some linoleum isn't the best, must have soft backing for pliability
I'll check it out, mightbecheaper than you think..if too expensive then we could see how many could get it..wouldn't have to box it..roll it, tape it and put what is needed inside the tubing
Doable
Can you tell us what to look for? I can go see if I can find it here. Maybe a brand you prefer?
I go by the feel, in the Home Depot bins they have it..again I'm sure I can cut and sent, if I roll it opposite it's only 2' by maybe 3" thick..
having a coffee and cinnamon roll then to bed
wine glasses and scarecrow that just needs his arms and pumpkin put together with raffia will have to wait until tomorrow
will finish the fall throw tomorrow and these wineglasses and deliver to Rita hopefully tomorrow night or Tuesday night as a thank you..sure did appreciate her helping and her being soooo tall lol
Trying to catch up. Virus really did a number on me and fighting the depression issues big time.
Finally left house for first time in over a week on Saturday.
Betty, I would love those if you want to get rid of them and they need a home. I think there are 3 more boxes here now....I know I have to take pictures, but have just not felt well at all.
Waving to all, catching up on the threads.
Debbie
Sorry to hear the crud is kicking your butt Debbie, hope your feeling better soon!
Betty, I love your glasses and that scarecrow!
Linda I am doing MUCH better than I was. Just regrouping from having it.
You know, I just had a thought. I know why Betty wants to come NOW.
She is thinking of the witch that was at the Christmas Tree shop last year and
we wouldn't let her get it!!!!
Debbie I can almost "hear" your fatigue in the words of your post. Get better SOON.
Betty, Your scarecrow MUCH nicer than the cheap little guys I just bought last weekend! LOL.. but hey, what can I expect for $4 each? At least they help fill in the hole in the landscaping where I dug up the rose last week.
We got the last of the rock shovel for the son's house. Now he can finish spreading it around more. We got over 80% already in place. I do so wish I had before and after pictures from before I started this project last June while they were out of town and I weeded and pruned etc, etc. That helped them see potential and they hired someone to take out the weed/tree that was 20 feet tall, hire someone to prepare the ground for the rock, and got a new roof. They don't want to paint until next year but... those white peeling trim boards are calling my name. Do you know how much it would look even if ONLY the front trim was painted??? LOL
I'm going to shower and go back to sewing the wall hanging.
Awwwwwwwwwww... missed treasures!!! That makes sense! LOL
Morning all,
Debbie my heart goes out to you, so hoped having Shane home would help with depression and put sunshine in your heart! Glad you went out yesterday..sure wish I could get stateside right now
You had me laughing, yes I wanted the witch, she would have been the finishing touch to my Halloween decor BUT you wouldn't let me. Boo hoo. Lol
You will have the entire neighborhood Pat doing curb appeal..you should have been a landscape designer
Checked my master card this morning, was pretty sure I had overpaid by $100 and yep I did but a charge came in for $61.91 hmmm. Went on one to check ebills and it was for siriusxm which I rarely listen to
Called the company and asked how long did I get for that amount..3 months, next pmt of same will come out Dec 3rd. Told her too cancel the next payment, I really didn't need it
WELL, wouldn't you just know they are having a special for today only, with what they took for 3 month payment sept 3 and if they took another $73.76 I would have service until sept 3, 2015
Imagine!! So told her to go for it. She said they would send me notification 6 weeks prior to being billed to cancel and renew and likely I could get on another promo
Moral of the story I guess is not to just accept the $$$ figure companies charge you
Sunshine this a.m but cool
I was told that they will ALWAYS come way down if you say cancel. I don't have it, but a few of my friends do. They always call and get great rates for a year.
((((Debbie))))
Sirius does that to us too. When I called to cancel, they offered us 6 months for $5.00 a month! I like that price a lot better!
Yes, if I had a 4th career it would have been in landscaping. Trouble is, I can't do a lot of the heavy stuff like I used to. If you can't DO the work yourself, I can't imagine it's very successful. Besides, I specialize in "cheap", using stuff from salvage or from the free list on Craigslist. Not a lot of paying customers in my category! LOL
After the gravel and cement wheelchair ramp, I'm going to tackle that shed. I hate that shed, well to be exact I hate the blessed door that like most metal sliding doors on shed is a pain.
I'd really like an additional 8 x 16 shed set up and delivered, that would make it possible to empty out our 4th "bedroom" that is being used for storage and turn it into a guest bedroom. Budget review and common sense says I need to find another solution. Soooooo I'm going to sort thru the shed contents, see what could survive outside but well wrapped, like my electric lawn mower, my cement mixer... Clean and sort inside the house and "suck it up" somehow and get that storage room closer to empty. Son & new wife coming in Janurary and I'd love to have a bedroom for them. It could happen right?
Just goes to show you..
Here we go
