I would love to be in your kitchen, it's so homey, and with a man that knows his way around.. that's every wife's dream!
Sis Jaye, I know you weren't being ugly, just having a bad day. It happens to all of us, and I by all means haven't got the right to judge people. That job is for God.
thanks Jaye. Kitchen is a mess.... well was in this picture. stuff everywhere. as is the case with a house full. drives hubs crazy, when HIS island has stuff on it!!

Whew the mayor has declared a disaster area, they have volunteers rounded up to help people clean out their basements and has asked the Senator to seek FEMA funds. He has also said that there will be trash pickup as often as possible so people can put ruined stuff to the curb without have to wait for regular pick up day.
So now we will see how much of this actually happens and how much help my son can actually get. My other son and sons-in-law are going over to give him a hand and I expect others in the family will too.
Pulling together. Makes you feel good in this tough time.
((((Sue))))
Thinking of you both today Karen and Sue. My prayers are with you and yours.
Good morning.
May FEMA be swift in giving aid, Karen. The track record has been disappointing since Katrina.
Nothing much to talk of last night as I was busy cleaning up the bedroom. Can't believe the mess one man create when he lives in it. Apart from that, I sewed, starched and pressed blocks. All sides done and just enough fabric to do so. Today it's trimming, to even out the main blocks and then more cutting. Making secondary blocks. So, there's some progress.
Hugs to all my sistahs here. May God keep blessing us all.
Morning everyone!
Coffee is ready.
Payton is out of surgery, all is well. Finally rid of that darned appendix!
Praise God! Glad to hear he is doing fine!
Hi everyone, just passing threw
good news about the appendix. Glad the surgery went well. Lets hope your son and others can get some help.
not much going on here.
so weird going into the barn and not having the sounds of goats greeting me.... *sigh*.....
got one rabbit sold. two more to go.
went to the gym... good work out.
its nice to have life slowing down
Austin and i went shopping LOL . i got some new sweaters. and a robe
DS has plenty of family help in cleaning up. Bless their hearts. He also found out and has documentation the the pumping station near his house was defective and the city was aware and did not fix. Mr Mayor is jumping on the bandwagon to see every one gets helped. Imagine that.
The biggie is if his furnace & hot water heater will work once dried out. Also washer & dryer. He had paneling, carpets, & furniture, ruined. He's taking inventory and we will see what the city will do for him.
Good morning! DD coffee and dry toast for all! Lol.. not that cruel, there's an array of jellies and jams, and chutneys for the more adventurous!
Karen, praise God Payton came out of surgery fine. Now she can have all the ice cream she wants. Let the mayor jump on the bandwagon, he's now forced to keep his promises!! Unless he isn't seeking reelection. That's great that his heating appliances aren't damage. You have such a great family, willing to lend a hand. Mine back in Singapore and Louisiana are that way too.. out of their hearts.
Kel's family is, what can he do for them in return..
Nothing to report is a blessing Sue. No bad news there. Get you some cats, and Lucy can give you some entertainment! I had shopped with my great nephews when they're small, and their truly set me off in another world. Games, toys, and food. Not like girls!
Would you believe I didn't touch the blocks as planned yesterday? Of course you would! That's me, always changing course.
Partial cleaning in an unused living room that somehow managed to house uninvited dust bunnies. Then my body wandered off to the dump it all room to get ready for fall!! Lol!!! Summer isn't over but I need to get prepped and decide what old winter clothes to donate.
The good thing is I went to bed at 9 pm! Was so exhausted didn't even check my bgs. Amazing, it was at 82 this morning. Must be all that activity.
Got chicken in the oven, don't know what I'll do today.
Yes LK, there's always the sewing machine.
Oh.. Cupcake had a long meow with me yesterday. She said that I shouldn't encourage daddy to pick up more strays as she thinks I have enough with only her!! Yes, that cat gets depressed when I don't single her out from the brood, and spend at least 15 minutes with her!!
How did my mother do it with 8 of us?
Have a fantastic day sistahs.
DD coffee is ready. I have filled the thermal warm full also, there will be plenty. Toast, bagels or English muffins....with cream cheese and guava jelly for those who like it.
Yesterday was devoted entirely to the girls as it was the last day of summer for them and the last day grandma will have them for a while. House is really going to feel empty today. During the morning we filled snack bags for the homeless then delivered them to the shelter. We all helped serve the noon meal then had a special lunch for us.
Jaye, wonders of wonders happened yesterday. Catie-Beth wanted to stretch out on my bed and before we knew it the Mau had gotten up there with her. I told CB to just be very still and we would see what would happen. She has been wanted to pet the Mau for ever so long. Would you believe the Mau started loving all over her, purring and curled up and went to sleep right beside CB. That wasn't the sun you saw shining it was CB's smile!!! Of course I stayed very close by incase I noticed signs of aggressiveness.........none!!!
Well ladies, today I am sporting purple hair! Ah the things we do for our grandchildren. :-)
And NO picture Marion??? I want to see your purple hair!!!!! And yes, we do just about everything for them....
Marion, I guess Mau finally conceded that it can't be anti social for too long especially when the grandkids will be around for a long, long time! Or maybe she's an opportunist. The bed looks so good when there's another warm body to snuggle up to!
Me want to see that purple hair. Did you do dreadlocks too?
Can't believe besides baking the chicken, I had fixed a pot of lentils and black bean soup, a pot of brown rice with some Mexican seasoning....
and... drum roll please....
trimmed all my chicken blocks!!! All in two hours!
Barb, I'm terrified at this strange Jaye!
May have to re-glue some beaks, as a few came off from. Will post pictures after I tackle the rest of the living room.
Surely your jest about pictures of the purple hair. :-) No dreadlocks!
What ia a Mau? Is it dangerous/
Good morning, and make mine iced coffee please
Marion, if you remember correctly, Jaye had purple hair last year, and she too refused to post pics! Glad to hear that CB was able to cuddle with kitty!
Morning everyone, and thanks to both of you for the breakfast!
Jaye, can't wait to see the chicken quilt!
Kathy, the Mau is my cat who has a past history of being really mean. She is an Egyptian Mau (bred) and we call her "Mau".

Sis, A Maui or Egyptian Mau is a breed of cats. Mauis are supposed to be quite aloof.
Oh don't remind me of my mistake, LK. That was more than a year ago!!! I'm back to having more than 50 shades of grey on my head! Lol!!
Here are some of the hen blocks. I had glued the beaks and 'combs', never gonna do that again. Some came off with the heavy sliding of the hot iron. :( Might just do some 'painting' since I'll be inking the eyes. Pattern is by trial and error.. more errors.
Don't know what fabric I'll be selecting for the other secondary blocks. Got quite a few printed chicken fabric to choose from. But there'd be no borders for these.
Will take pics of the secondary fabric later.
Hehehe. Cross posted Marion!! I will too have to take a pic of my pink amaryllis that bloomed almost white this year.. strange . got to be the soil.
dear daughter and grandson are moving here before the end of the month. i have to clean out Kadens room, because I've been usind
g it for storage. THE POOR KID HAD HER ELECTRIC TURNED OFF,AND NO PLACE UP THERE WILL HELP HER GET IT TURNED BACK ON SO SHE IS COMING HOME.
i pray every night that they have what the need, so God must think they need to move back home
Jaye, I love those blocks, and all your trial and error has proved to be a winner! What glue are you using?
Last applique I did, I used the elmers glue sticks. make sure it is the washable glue sticks, and I loved it! And keep them in the freezer, they do last longer that way!
(((Sissy))) hope everything works out with DD and DGS.
Cleaning a customers house. Just taking a wee break.
I've got the "slooooooooooows" today. Or maybe the "can't helpits"...not sure.
Marion, thinking it's had a great time with grands itis. I get that from time to time, but never enough.
Me too , me too Sis Kathy. Hope this time she'll give Kaden the security he needs... with you both!
Hey there Cookie! Do you listen to music while cleaning? I do.
Marion, I stole your energy! Seriously on a roll here. I know pretty soon, I'll zonk!!! Now if only I'm this way everyday, my house will love me.
Here are the fabrics I've been toying with to cut out 8 X 9 inch blocks, to go with the others. Aleene's glue was used. Guess I dabbed too little!
Here's the 'white' Amaryllis. Looks more like a Belladonna, but it's been pink for years :( The rains had withered away the other scapes, and I know I have to add the soil with something! Oh Kel won't be happy!

Those fabrics are so cute!
Love the amaryllis too. Don't know why they turn colors?
busy day out in the garden. Moved some more plants out of Jessica's garden and into the new area. I moved some peonies and i m hoping they do make it. The old garden is getting so over fun with weeds i was afraid i would loose them LOL .
we are off to the mall . i forgot a perfume i ordered ..... forgot to pick it up wends
then we have some coupons for Kohls
found a security thingy on Austins shorts his dad got him. Uhg. no reciet. lets hope they take it off for us at the store and believe us when we say we are not criminals
welp off and running
Sue, it's a wonder why the security tag didn't trigger the alarm. Hopefully they can tell the difference between a criminal and a regular Jane!!
LK, I'm not into pollinating, so maybe this may be off one of the bulbs result from self pollination and the white part dominates? I checked the area, and there are others away from the main plant that I had grown more than six years ago. That's one reasoning, the other, poor soil nutrition.
So far my white spider lilies are white, the dahlias remain red, brugs, pink.. all growing in the same island. But this is the only blooming amaryllis, too early for blooms as it's still hot. Could be a wild belladonna blown in!! Lolol!!
Ok.. off to sort out dvds. Most for donation to the public library,
Glad someone got my energy as I certainly don't have any today!!! Still dragggggggggggging.
I don't know what energy is, if I had any I must have lost it a very long time ago. I'm usually tired all the time, hoping it is just the heat. I did manage to do a load of laundry
Talked to my sister for a while, she is doing good. Doing a lot of therapy and doctor wants her to start on the bike now. Doing better than they expected. He told her worse patients are older men. But we know men can't take pain like women.
I found some chili makings in my cupboard when I was snooping around so think I'll make chili tonight. I usually don't want to cook anything but I have a lot of groceries on hand and I have a son who I know is always looking for something to eat. A lot of recipes are posted on facebook and some look so good to me.
Bill was asking for chili made with tomatoes from the garden. That hasn't happened yet!
Yes, Jaye, I do listen to music while I clean. I take my IPAD with me.
Pegi, thinking much of your fatigue is emotional. You have really been through the ringer the past while. You were so busy being a caregiver and now that role is gone. Give yourself some healing time, do what you feel like doing and maybe just a tiny bit more to keep going. When you feel up to it, look for something to do that interests you, maybe something entirely new so it doesn't stir any memories. Things you weren't free to do before, stroll a mall, go to a movie with a friend, or maybe lunch.

Good morning sistahs. I did 'zonked' early last night. Too early that I'm awake again at 3. But did some more clearing of space in the 'dump it all' room. Didn't cook though, will do that tomorrow, got plenty of left over.
Moreover Kel came home with steaks that were grilled at work, I'm pretty sure he can reheat that and turn into sandwiches for lunch, if he wanted to.
Wise advice there Karen. app
It makes sense for you to learn something new, Pegi. Nothing there to revive old memories, and the plus side is, it will challenge your brain cells to focus.
You are missing the old routines. Consider the coming days as having no routine at all. Be spontaneous. Yes, try those new recipes, at least you have a "Mikey", He'd eat up your mistakes!! Lol!
DD coffee and blueberry muffins. Fresh pineapple rings too.
Fresh pineapples are a must for me, daily now. Am addicted to that I think. Maybe that's what gives me energy. When I'm out of them, I can't seem to move. The canned sort isn't the same.
Have a terrific Thursday sistahs.
