Glad you were able to switch appointments M". Very thoughtful of you and the docs office.
I have no experience with bunnies. Where's Debbie????? She might know.

Lyndonville, NY

Regarding bunnies!!! Let them be. We had saved several this year. If Mama has been around, she will be back.

Babies only nurse 2 times a day....mama nurses and runs off. IF they are big enough to be out of the nest...have furr on them....they should be OK.

HOWEVER, if mama hasn't been back...and they start to look weak....call a wildlife rehaber.....and she will help you.

Ours was fine...I gave him some room temp water for the day...til I got him to rehab.....and she let him go a wee later.

Thanks for all the bunny info. However, I came home to find a massacre had occurred in my front yard. I don't know what got them, but the nest had been dug out, there is rabbit fur in about a 3 ft circle around the nest, and there were 4 bunny bodies scattered around. whatever killed them didn't do it for food. They all had punctures in their sides, and were left laying. I buried the babies, and went back to check the nest, found another dead one, was going to fill in the nest, tossed in a shovel of dirt and heard a squeak. I carefully dug out the nest and found 4 more babies huddled in the dirt. Their eyes are open, but they can't be much over a week old, (from watching that video, thanks M).

Because of the massacre, I packed up the surviving four. My neighbor is going to babysit overnight. She has bottles and KMR milk replacer and has had some luck raising a baby bunny in the past. Tomorrow morning we will take them to a wildlife rehaber.

Thanks for all the input. Now I'm concerned what would kill them and leave them? There are skunks and possums in the neighborhood, but I don't think they're out during the day, and everything was quiet this morning when I checked on the nest before I left for work.

Perhaps a cat as they will often kill then leave their prey. Mom bunnies will bury their kits in the dirt during the day time.

Been quite a day

We were in Lafitte for our air boat ride..omg have photo's of alligators jumping up for marshmallows ..best 2 hrs I spent in a bit..alligators galore..wonderful to have Steve as airboat guide again his year.

Then off to Oak Alley plantation, mansion and grounds beyond belief..had lunch at the plantation..interesting to read up on the history of these plantation owners and that of the slaves

With Linda unable to walk and in mega  pain we decided to find a chiropractor and yes we did find time in our schedule..when she came out she was walking without any pain resulting from her fall.

I was amazed, so amazed in I went for a tweaking as well...sure worth $80

Had a whole 20 minutes in the room and off  for a ghost tour..think they could have stuck but to the general history of the buildings

Then off to Cafe Du Monde for beignets and coffee..one can't come to New Orleans without doing so

Tomorrow if we are to do the things as planned we have to leave by 5:30

What idiots said or agreed to put the following all into one day

Leave hotel at 5:30 a.m.

Include

Biloxi Mississippi -las Vegas of the south
Gulf Breeze Florida
Montgomery, Alabama
arrive in Nashville about 10pm then head to the midnight jamboree at Ernest Tubbs

Was confident we could do it, now let's see

Betty, I am so glad to hear that you both got an adjustment from the Chiro and got relief! I see mine at least once a month. He keeps everything aligned, and is so much easier to get around when it is properly aligned!
Enjoy your day!

Please say prayers for my Dad. The Dr.'s just left his room and he knows he will have to have his leg amputated up to the groin due to lack of circulation. Surgery will probably happen Monday or so. He is so depressed and was crying when I just talked to him.

Prairieville, LA(Zone 9a)

Big Hugs for you and your Dad LK. So sorry to hear that. Will certainly keep him and you and the family in my thoughts and prayers.

Sounds as though you're sticking to the schedule Betty .. how was the Jamboree?
Do you have any days in the schedule when you just relax a bit?

CAT got me up before 7am .. I was going to have a lay in til about 8am ... anyway, the dogs have all been out, cat's still cruising around out there .. and I am sitting here with my coffee .. except for the Blue Jays and Crows it's pretty quiet.

It never did rain to any great amount .. so, I'm off to check the weather

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

A question ................
A friend who has just let her membership with Daves lapse, has heard that you can READ all the threads in the forums, but not post ..
Has anyone else heard this?

~M~

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Not for sure. You can contact admin and ask.

Lyndonville, NY

Yes, you can read but not post. I think the DGmail is still available but am not 100% on that.
My daughters read my posts all the time apparently.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes D Mail is available. You can post photos.

Thunder Bay Ontario, ON(Zone 3a)

So, we are paying for??
As well, we sign in with a password, if unregistered people can read our personal posts, that seems a bit odd to me.

M

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Paying is also for access to all the plant forums. Everyone has a password. Before I had access only to the sewing forum and a couple others. I was not in this one. Up top if you go to communities, there is a red star by the forums that only members can access. I think there might be a limit to how many photos non-members can post at a time also.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

You must keep in mind that this is an open forum which means anyone can come here and read. There are some that are accessible only to paid members. Anyone can receive a d-mail but only subscribers can send one ( I think that is what I read) or they are limited as to how many they can send in any given day. Also subscribers have the choice to turn off the ads.

Verona, ON

LK sending positive thoughts and prayers for your DF and for you as well. I know how hard it is to be so far away when a loved one is ill. How does your dad feel about this situation?

Barb sure glad Norm survived his wild ride. Must have unnerved him a bit..... I know it would me.

How is Linda Betty? Isn't she the one with the bad back?

Our friend who retired as a principal here and then took a job first in Jakarta and now Cairo was here for a few days. His partner who needs the time in for any kind of pension has just signed on for 3 more years as VP in Cairo. Frank will stay on as Principal for another 3 years - he says he may as well be paid if he has to be there. Frank has been friends with Warren and I longer than he has been married to any of his wives. lol

Need to get the pups fed. Hope to BBL.

Unless it has changed Barb, I've always been able to send D Mails. I've only been a member for just over a year.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

There must be some kind of directions - maybe on our preferences page? No time to look tonight but I'll play tomorrow.

Karen, I came across a couple of tree skirt patterns - are you interested? I'll mail them out if you are.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Dad made the decision to have his leg removed. It was not easy but he knows it has to be done.He is tired of having the infected toes.

Maryville, TN(Zone 7a)

Yes please Barb, Thanks for thinking of me. I'll reimburse the postage.
