Morning
Omg what a night
No sooner went to bed that I got 2 calls, at 10:10 Sharon called for update, drats
'what re you doing'. Heck sleeping!!!
Then bing bang crash, was a mouse in the house, all night Missy was trying to catch it, on the bed, off the bed
Finally fell asleep..thank goodness I watched where I put my foot this morning. 'yuk a mouse'
Finishing coffee then will cut out strips for a quilt throw then into town..want to pick up a roll of linoleum for projects and a few light figures for basement
Best/Worse/What did I learn today?chat with friend old/new
Sorry you did not get a good nights sleep!
Yuck on the mouse gift!
No mouse here but had a horrible night last night. No idea why...just happened.
Kim is still home but hopefully will go back to work tomorrow. She is just weak.
LindaKay, prayers for your dad..bet you are walking the floor
Did they find out what got Kim down? So much going around that is not the norml you have to be fretting
I hope to have news about Dad by this afternoon sometime.
Hugs Linda, I would be a wreck with worrying..
My Sis just sent a text, that he just went back to get prepped for surgery!
Pacing with you lindakay
Thanks Betty!
We're all here, arms around you.
Sending positive thoughts LK. Also prayers for you, your dad, your family and the surgical team.
Dianne
Thanks everyone. Don't know what I would do sometimes with out all of you here on DG!
DG family members are the best!
Prayers added to the others LK.
Betty, it a reoccurence of something she has picked up in her travels. It will go for quite a while with no problem but when it does it is rough. They have tested her for just about everything and so far no definite name as to what.....just treat the effects when it flairs up.
Prayer a plenty for you LindaK, and your Dad and your family ..
Was in your position 5 years ago, and, it's a horrible place to be in .. but, we always get by and soldier on.
HUGE HUGS
Just home, Lilly and Piper look gorgeous, and Zoey thought it wonderful we took her, and JUST her for a special walk, what a wee sweetie she is.
Off to hang out a load of laundry ..
TOODLES
~M~
Dad is out of surgery, and the Dr. said everything went well!
Thanks for all the prayers!
Hugs LindaKay, was thinking of you and thoughts and prayers.
Busy morning here....and heading out door shortly. I agree...DG family is best.
Glad to hear everything went well with your dad LK. Prayers continuing for a quick recovery.
Deb
How wonderful Lindakay..
Here is hoping this brings him more comfort
Not really a phone person, all I've done is gab on the phone..
Everyone touching base
Up n at'em .. well .. UP :-)
Lindakay, hope your Dad spent a restful night, no doubt if they didn't have him up last night, he'll be up in the chair today .. Lorna found it so difficult to believe her leg was gone, as will your Dad .. biggest concern is getting up and trying to walk .. after 80 years with 2 legs, your Dad will feel as though the leg is still there .. staff are vigilant re that though.
Another 'SUMMER DAY' here .. mid 80s and sunny.
Headed for lunch with my BFF .. my tummy seems to be behaving a bit better, fingers crossed.
Hope everyone has a super day ..
~M~
Good morning all,
Sewing day again here. I'm finally getting caught up with things. Not looking forward to next week as my Brandon leaves for Ohio and college. It sure will be strange knowing he is so far away.
Barb, hopefully he will keep in touch with the phone or computer?
I have not heard from the family today. My Brother stayed with him for the night. I was told they would start therapy today! They said he kept asking for more pain meds, even though he is hooked up to the morphine pump.
Enjoy your lunch "M"!
Morning all,
Prayers for your dad LindaKay..here is hoping it's a good day for him..he'd feel more comfortable having family with him during the night..
Barb, know that feeling
my Braedon leaves for British Columbia at the end of the month..
great that we have computers and can interact
both our grandsons have goals and praying to the Lord they don't get side tracked
Visited with mom last night, she was still at her table with a married couple and another lady..
the lady whose husband is cheerful, makes mom laugh, is very negative, just what mom needed..
I looked at the menu she had to pick from for today and the lady went on to say why bother, food was horrid and not worth eating...got my dander up as I ohhh'd and ahh'd at the menu, said I sure wouldn't mind sitting and eating what seemed good choices in foods, she turned up her face so I said ' perhaps that is YOUR opinion, not everyones as each have different likes/dislikes and taste buds, guess all should be happy to have such food!'
think she got the message with the glare I gave her, trying to sound ever so nice but NOT
Mom seemed in good spirits but then Sharon called and said all she did was complain to her and Kim. Earlier I said to mom that she needn't stay there, I could look for alternate accommodations, perhaps even drive her home..know she is unsure of her walking and wouldn't want to do that right now. She said no that she had only gotten there 2 days ago and it was fine and everyone was so nice...there you go, do they call that reverse phychology?
Before breaking her hip she was at the house and did the front and back of a tote bag, I will finish it and put shorter handles on it so it can be attached to her walker, hopefully I will get it done this morning.
Still playing with the throw I'm doing..should be ready for quilting by end of day.
Prefer visiting mom at supper time, breaks up her evening so best I get at it so her bag will be done.
Sounds like that other lady hates it there more than your Mom!
Some people there is just no pleasing, really didn't need her sour-puss attitude just then. Sounds like your mom is settling in. Perhaps she'll decide she really like being around others and not alone. Might point this out as a benefit there.
Those are beautiful!
Beautiful flowers, my gardens are pretty much done
Hoping this weekend to dead head, now watch it rain. Lol
Yep, sure wishes mom was at a table with 'up' people
Betty maybe talk to administrators or whoever necessary and try to get her table changed , explain why.
Beautiful flowers! Love the impatiens especially!
If nothing else I'll eat supper and it's only $8.00 lol
finished her walker bag, changed handles a bit from Lorna's, her's was too long
had mom not made outer bag I think I'd have made it smaller, oh well, am sure it will be ok!
just placed some of the cut outs for the piece I'm doing
will pin it in place then iron on..who knows might even get the applique stitch done around it and it will be ready for quilting
Anyone having problems with 'pop up's' on Daves Garden?

Beautiful!!
That's a nice bag, Betty, I'm sure your mom will appreciate it being finished.
Thank you Mittsy, trying to make sure all is well in her world. Lol
Just ironed the pieces to the background, looks nice
Not sure what to sore backing
Might mean a trip to Joann's. (smile)
Betty, that bag is very nice!
Love that quilt too! Very tropical looking. Makes ya want to go get a cold drink!
Oh no Betty! Not a trip to Joannes...what horrible punishment to have to go there. :-)
Lol. My bank account will think so!
Can't believe Fabricland until next week has a 75% off on Christmas fabric (designs from last year) so ended up with 8 yards of of green with silver trees
Would lke to take stock of what I have, what will be quilted that needs backing, fall fabric designs etc and get what I can while n sale and rest from Joann's.
How is Kim Marian? Did she teach today?
Wonder how Bev made out in Branson trip with her friends
And Mary and Jean, of course Shirley and Debbie always on my mind
Moved us over

No Kim stayed home again today but hopefully will go tomorrow. Much better this afternoon but weak.
Just got back home from having afternoon with Brandon and family. It was and is bittersweet. I'm so happy for him and he is so excited about going off to school but, Lord, we are going to miss him terribly. He is such a good guy and I don't see too many around anymore. Polite, considerate and always mindful of his parents and grands. I was good though---no tears. I had promised him. anyway, the whole family is driving him to Ohio and that will be so good for all of them. Stacy is a basket case. I think it will be good for them to be able to picture where he is and I think it will be especially good for Sean. Although Sean turned 14 last month, I honestly think he has an emotional level of around 9 or 10. He is really going to be lost without Brandon so Papa and I will do our best to help him. It is not as easy as it once was since we moved last year but he knows we are here for him.
Hope Lorna feels better and that her doctor can help with her leg.
Off to see about some dinner....
I'm tearing just thinking of it Barb..bittersweet for sure..we follow much the same road with Braedon and Caleb..hugs dear friend ..hard to let them go
I stopped for gas this afternoon and there must be a young man working no more than 14-15 and it's such a pleasure to speak with him..always ask how my day is going, concerned about the price of gas..his days off etc..as you say Barb, you don't meet many of those..must tell his boss next time I'm in how lucky he is having such a gracious young man working for him.
guess who is already comfy in her bed..will do some puzzles, read a bit and just relax.
