Good Morning Ladies,
I just got this email from my cousin Dennis. He was going to help Joann out with $$$ (he's loaded, lol) but she turned him down because..................
Good Morning Everyone,
I just called JoAnne to ask how I may help. She needs nothing, the insurance company, her work, friends and the community have all been wonderful. She is still very banged and bruised, on her way to the eye doctor when I called, but made it clear they had everything they need.
Her home was well insured and the company has already cut her two checks, one for full replacement of the home and one for contents and personal property. They lost everything, she emphasizes, even needing to replace eye glasses, hearing aids, all their clothing, their autos, photos, combs, brushes, kitchen supplies,EVERYTHING!
She said her work is also being wonderful. They are paying her and not deducting anything for time off etc. Her fellow employees have donated vacation so when she comes to California in August (flying out on August 23 and planning on being in my pool on August 24th) she will not have to even use her own vacation time. Covering every base.
The community is housing and feeding them and she says they (the people) have offered her 5 different homes in which to live while hers is rebuilt.
She says the experience was horrifying but the flood of help and good will in the aftermath has been simply overwhelming.

Cindy that is wonderful that so many are helping her! She is definitely blessed!
Aw, Cindy, that's such a heartwarming story! Why can't all communities be like that?
Sitting on the swing taking a well earned break. Have some beautiful water lilies blooming and the waterfall sound is so restful. I may not want to get back up and weed! I'm determined to get this bed under the pine tree finished and mulched today. Need to Roundup the pathways as well since we won't be getting rain till Sunday now.
I was gifted with 3 different iris that I fell in love with (3 different people). Think I've figured out where to plant them now. I also have several in the shade bed that must be moved since they didn't get enough sun to bloom.
Just got an email that my new couch can be picked up on Saturday. I'm hoping Sherry is available with her truck that day, cause I sure as heck don't want to take Big Red that far!! I'm so glad the couch will be here for the Garden Club meeting on the 17th. Sure hope I can get the garden ready by then!!
It's beautiful here today. Only getting to 79*. Hope you're having a good day, too!
Greats have been bugging me to hit the lake. Wasn't really warm enough so I told them don't ask me again, watch the thermometer, when it hits 75 they can get their suits on and go. Down there now it's 79. Warmer than it was supposed to be.
79 sounds nice. It is 93 right now! Supposed to hit 100 today, Saturday and Sunday!
Don't know if anyone is interested, but this is a really great swap. Today is the last day to sign up.

tonight is wine night,
Tom is leaving on a trip for 10 days :(
Tim is home and i m stuck here also .
but we do need to talk about his parents and their health. I have noticed Al has been more confused
Hello everyone. Cool day today and taking the day off to go to MB. 'She' can be on her own for a few hours as she's doing good with her walker, and her balance improved.
Cookie, congrats on the couch! Did you get a leather one?
Cindy, praise God that your cousin has excellent help, not in need of any charity drive. Amazing that that town rallied around her and her coworkers did their best too! Praise God,
Karen, don't go skinny dipping at the lake!! Might frighten the fishes LOL!!
Sis Kathy, wonder what plants you'd replace first. It isn't a joy when you have to spend money for replacements be they the pc or your plants.
Hope you hit the sales.
Sue, I can predict your aggravation chart will go off the board when Tim's home!! This is when you pull from deep inside you and won't let any bad situation get the worst of you. Say the serenity prayer when it gets rough.. but I do hope for both yours and the children, Tim will remain civilise.
Waving to Marion.. Barb... Sistah Judy.. special lurkers...
LK, Kel reminded me that Possum is actually 7 to 8 years old!!
I have uploaded a short clip on Facebook of the time when I took him out into the gardens.
Love to all... have a wonderful Saturday sistahs.
Morning Jaye!
Glad to hear you get to go on a shopping trip, enjoy your day!
LOL Jaye, if I went skinny dipping, the fish would belly up and die.
Started out on a good note this morning. When I got up Darwin was sitting up in his bed watching TV. He asked for 1 egg and 1 piece of toast and a glass of milk. Slowly he ate his breakfast, every bit of it. Wow, I may have a great day after all! Reminded me to give him the pills at 9 AM. He is settled down for a while. Even though he isn't in pain he is suppose to take a 12 hour morphine pill, 15 mg, nurse said that was the lowest. I think talking to his fishing buddy last night did him a lot of good. Part came for the trapeze, but Darwin was sleeping, or so we thought, and our son can install it. The trapeze is a triangle shaped gismo that hangs from a bar. Bar can be moved over to the side so it won't be in his way when not in use. Maybe I'll get that time to do some more major cleaning in the dining area. First, I need that cup of coffee to get me moving.
Neighbor from across the street came over to talk, they are leaving on a cruise Monday morning to Israel, Turkey & Greece. I'm looking forward to pictures. Wish I could stow away and see those countries too.
Pegi, that is awesome that he is eating!
Oh to go on a cruise would be so nice! We want to go take a cruise to Alaska to watch the whales! it is on our bucket list of places to go!
Hello Ladies,
Yes it's wonderful how that community of people came together. I just hope that Shon (Joann's boyfriend) is able to get hearing aids quickly. He is completely deaf, and I know what it's like to be with out, not fun. I am so looking forward to her trip home. I will be picking her up from the airport. Then the next day we will be having a family reunion at my cousin's in Sacramento, they have a big pool ^_^
LK, remember those Dark Purple Zinna seeds you got me? Weeeelllllllllllllllll
Oh Cindy, those are so pretty! Looks like the butterflies like it too!
yea, but they aren't Dark Purple like the picture on the seed packet :( boo hoo :(
You have our temps.
Low 80s here, just right for the kids at the lake. Water is so high, our beach is totally gone.
Well our contract with the totally useless realtor is finally up. I'm on the verge of giving up. Then last night a knock at our door, was a realtor who lives two lakes over. Said he had shown our house a couple of times so was familiar with it. Also said he was familiar with our realtor and while he couldn't say much, did say he thought he could do a better job for us. He said if we weren't happy with what he was doing he would let us out of our contract at any time. He also lives in the area and pretty much specializes in selling here. I guess we'll give it another shot, but really discouraged and ready to throw in the towel. They are worse than the weather liars.
hmmm all we have here is beaches no water :( our lakes are so low
Oh Cindy, those are so pretty! Is that a Monarch butterfly?
Good luck with the new realtor, Karen!
Too bad we can't have a happy medium Cindy, Knew this would happen with our lakes 4 feet of snow most of the winter was bound to raise the level. Our island is even gone. Good thing I have photos of the beach at it's best to show lookers.
Sorry I've been MIA - my subscription expired, and I just got it renewed.....
Welcome back Susan. How are you doing?
I thought Susan was so busy with her new job, glad she is back with us.
Going to be in the low 80's, so says the weatherman, but usually goes higher. Got to get out and check on my tomato and squash plants. Hoping I'll get some more veggies from son's garden at his girlfriends. Just a plate full of veggies is good, I really don't miss meat, but do need a taco once in a while. In the beginning, Roller Derby was Darwin's sport to watch every Tuesday night and that usually was taco night. Can't believe that once he could put away a full dozen.
Hope you all have a good day.
It is nice and steamy 89 degrees here. You can take a sauna by just standing outside.
Dark, stormy and very windy here.
Rain off and on today, mostly on. Sue came to help me pull weeds, etc., but the stupid rain wouldn't let us work so we went and had lunch and went to a nursery. You'll be proud of me, I didn't buy anything!
Morning everyone!
Hope everyone is doing well!
Jaye are you still at your MIL's? How is she doing?
Morning, pulled a muscle in my back while sleeping. Can hardly move.
Thats not good! maybe a long hot shower?
Gonna try it. Got severe storms coming in today, so I need to be able to move to get the gardens reay for the storms.
Be careful in those storms!
I will. I' ll be the one under the bed! Ain't got to worry bout me outside in them.
rouxcrew has the OLD, NEW, BORROWED AND BLUE SWAP SIGN UP come and check it out.

Oh Happy Birthday from me, too, Karen! Hope your day is just perfect!!
Happy Birthday Karen
My new puter isn't working. Won't pick up a signal, where the rest of them will. My neighbor said he would look at it later.
Happy Birthday Karen. What great company you have sharing this day for birthdays....you, my son and JD! Wow, lucky lady.
Kathy, my new computer has the same problem. It won't pick up the signal very well yet all the other gadgets will...who knows what the problem is now.
Thanks for the greetings. I'm sure JD will be calling any time.
I have a weird thing with my lap-top. My grandson's phone interferes with it. Doesn't bother anyone else's and no other phone does that to me. Doesn't bother my desktop either.
