Getting ready for battle 2 with japaneese beetles. I hope they are all gone, but I got my spray just in case

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, just wanted to let you know were with you in spirit as you go help your MIL! Prayers for her also for a speedy recovery!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thanks for coffee and the uplift, LK and Sis!

I know you will be with me, just like the time when Murdock asked for me. That visit was beautiful, thanks to my angel Sistahs.

Kel left at 7 this morning, her surgery's scheduled for 9. Since I don;t have to be at the hospital, another day at home! Yay!
But tomorrow, I'll be accompanying Kel to get her. If only they'll keep her for another day.. hope.. hope..

A beautiful day today, and another day to spend some time in the garden.
My legs haven't felt any pain for a week now, just the occasional jerky movements, trying to regain my balance.
I'm really tired and sick of painkillers, and I don't take them all the time, unless I felt that a scream is coming!!

You all be good today, and may there be no more bugs for you LK and SIs!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Marion, hope the heat's not too bad there! Wonder how those old Floridians did without ac?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Nice for you to be able to spend today at home Jaye!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Jaye, I have often wondered the same thing. Growing up with a/c wasn't unusual for many. I have tried to remember just when I got addicted.

I am really surprised they will be letting your MIL come home tomorrow following this type of surgery. I am with you..hoping they keep her another day. Enjoy your time at home while you can but when you do go help, know we are all there with you.

Franklin, OH(Zone 6a)

Please try to not bite your tongue too hard while helping your DMIL. (Pssst...I know the D doesn't stand for "dear")!

Ooooh ooh I want a muffin! Yum!!

I hate to hear you're battling beetles already, Sissy. I hate those buggers!

Rain, rain, rain... Wow what a downpour we're having!

Sitting on the porch enjoying the show! It's even cool here! Can't believe it's the 4th of June already!!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Hi Ladies,

Prayers needed my cousin Joann lost her house and both cars in tornado last night in Bern, Kansas. Have not been able to get a hold of her but her son posted on FB that they were ok but pretty beat up and had to spend the night in the hospital. Their house was the only one completely destroyed others had some damage. She was planning a trip home in Aug and said she may not want to go back because all of her family is here in CA. Well, I'm thinking she will come home sooner, at least I hope so ^_^

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Sending lots of prayers Cindy! Sorry to hear this has happened!

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Cindy, that's sad, your cousin's a victim of the tornado. Perhaps it will be better if she moved back to Ca, if she wanted to avoid another tornado. Will certainly pray that she won't be facing much hurdles in getting their lives back together.

LOL Cookie. You mean that Dastardly MIL? Won't be easy, but maybe if I keep talking to myself when she's talking.... she might leave me alone!
I'm being nice, Sis Kathy!!!

Marion, it's a new procedure for hip surgery now. They won't operate on the hard back muscles, but will make two incisions in the front and work from there.
They took her at 11:30. Nothing's on schedule anymore when it comes to medical appointments!!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Cindy, I hate hearing that about anybody. I hope the insurance settles fast for her.

Yes Jaye, Iknow you are being very pleasant. It's scary!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

It is amazing how things have improved with hip and knee surgery in the past few years.

Wonderful!! Having a clear schedule is tops in my book after spending the time with Sue.

Finally, the tile man has appeared (shouldn't say it like that as there was a death in the family to cause the delay) and the threshold is being put in as I type. Can you feel my excitement?

Showed him the kitchen where we need to do something after the microwave removal (over the stove type). Make some fantastic suggestions so I think I will schedule that next!!!! BTW, did I say he does incredible work for a very fair price? Has wonderful ideas on designs. Do I feel every so lucky finding him.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Where did you find him Marion? Craig's list? I know you'd be recommending him to other friends.
May your son, Charles the Perfectionist, never find a flaw!!! Lolol!!!

MIL just got out of surgery. Kel said she didn't lose much blood according to the surgeon.
Hmmmmm.....too bad :D
Kidding,,, kidding...

Sis Kathy, any damage to your vege patch?

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

I think I asked for prayers sometime back for my great nephew, Gracyn who needed a heart surgery. He had it this morning in New Orleans and all went well.
thank you sistahs for your prayers.
Once said, God remembers...He doesn't need reminders. Isn't that wonderful.

This is Rachelle's (Nephew's wife) post :
"They just finished..everything went well. They had to burn 2 chambers they couldn't freeze it because they had to cross from the right side to the left side bc they had negative receivers on both sides of his heart! She said we can probably leave around 7:00 tonight! He's doing GREAT! Thank you everyone for all of the prayers!"

I'm so sorry Cindy......Is that your cousin sitting on the cooler? If so, she looks so much like you. There is a very strong resemblance. I hope they are safe now...

(Cindy) Auburn, CA(Zone 10a)

Yes that is my cousin. Our mom's were sisters.

(Barb) Manchester, NH(Zone 5a)

I will keep them in my prayers.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Jaye, he is so young to have to have heart surgery! Sending prayers for a speedy recovery!

(Pegi) Norwalk, CA(Zone 10b)

Good afternoon, busy this AM One nurse came out, our main one and she is so nice, and this afternoon a nurse comes to bath him. He got a talking to about his pain meds and I hope he listened to what she had to say. And, she told him she can't make him eat, but he won't be able to walk and will get dizzy and on a piece of paper she wrote and he will die sooner. We all know the body needs so many nutrients. He talks about going fishing with his friend, but unless he starts eating and gains strength he better just forget about that. He isn't happy with the hospital bed, but she is going to order an air type mattress that goes on top of the regular one. Maybe I may even try it out. I really thought he would be much happier in the living room because he can watch all his programs on TV. That is, if he will quit messing up the remote control. I may have to get that bottle of wine off the top shelf and have myself a glass or two.

Have two plumeria's blooming. Both red, have to check them out later and maybe take a few pictures. Have no idea what their names are, but all I really care about is how pretty they are and how good them smell.

hi sistah's
sorry been MIA. been a long busy week.
today i went to the gym. then cleaned out basement and finished the painting .
lots of rain today . No baseball.... thank goodness
we have a sick goat. i think he is constipated. straining to poop poor thing. gave him a shot of probiotics and some mineral oil. hope it works.
ok you wanted pics of Tom here they are
and some pretty flowers too and the mulch we hauled

Cindy, so sorry to read about your cousin. Sending prayers for all the family.

Good news about your nephew Jaye. Yes, He doesn't forget..remembers and takes care of us.
Inspite of her attitude, I am glad to hear Kel's mom came through the surgery with no great blood lose. Now hopefully it will be just enough to clear her mind...well I can hope, can't I?

SUE!! You have been hiding the "eye candy". Shame on you.

Pegi, I so wish things get better for you really soon. The air mattress will be really nice and will prevent "touchy" spots on Darwin. You have more than earned that glass of wine.

Well the threshold is down and I am very pleased. However, Jaye is correct...my overly perfectionist son may find problems. We shall see.

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Pegi. He will like that air mattress. I think I would take the remote award from him and you change the channel for him.

Sue. Tom is very nice eye candy!

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

Time to rise and shine!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

sue, keep that goat on his feet and waking. cooking oil, and then 1 tsp. of baking soda in water. if he has the bloats it willmkill him, if he doesn't belch or poop.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

morning maid.m. did you sleep well?

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Morning everyone! Coffee is ready!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

i'll take high test, getting ready to go to war again. wish me luck.

(Marion) Havana, FL(Zone 8b)

I slept very well, thank you Miz Kathy. I think it is because I finally see progress being made in this jungle of mess!!!

Thanks for the coffee LK. Kim made a short pot this morning....no clue as to why.

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

I won the battle, but I know the war isn't over yet. I only found 3 beetles today, so I spayed everything again!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

YEAH!!!!! Keep up the good work!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

I go out every 2 hours to look for beetles. so far none

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

That is good news! Sprinkle the ground too, to make sure you get all the little grubs!

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Hey Jaye, don't drink that whole bottle of wine at once! Save some for later!

busy day today

then off to farmers market until 6 pm
then off to austins baseball

tomorrow my carpet gets installed in the basement !!!! can you hear the excitment !
then get my nails done. cuz i like to feel pretty
then back home
then off to the gym
austin has another baseball game tomorrow ... uhg.....

(Linda Kay) Amarill, TX(Zone 7a)

Boy, you have been and will be busy! Hoe you have a good sump pump in the basement if your putting carpet down there. We are waiting for pictures of your new remodeled rooms!

Bessemer, AL(Zone 8b)

Morning, going to get my nails done, then to store, then making food to drop off at church for a funeral. Expecting straight line winds and hail this evening. Ther goes my gardens. If it ain't beetles and rabbits, it's straight line winds. Michael came home yesterday, 2of my mater plants died, He said it looks like they were sprayed with something.

TabacVille, NC(Zone 7a)

Thank you for the prayers everyone.
The staff at the hospital must have thrown a party after MIL has left the building! They had never had a patient like her. Her constant need for assurance and attention if I could video that, would draw hundreds of thumbs down on Youtube!
Incredibly, she did fantastic at home, walked with a walker on her own and I'm shocked!!
So this may be a very short recovery period as the doctor said and in MIL's case, I'd say the prayers did it.
Came home late last night and Kel wasn't too happy having to sleep on her sofa. After FIL died, she got rid of the hospital bed and the guest room bed set! Big man will be grouchy today.

Cindy, prayers continue for your cousin. I do hope the insurance covers everything or if FEMA stepped in, may she get full help.

You too Pegi! I'm sure you have threatened to take away the remote from Darwin!
Wine is good therapy, Sue and I can attest to that!

Sue, he's good looking! Not your ordinary everyday guy and brains too? May this relationship be the one and all for both of you.

Good to know that your battle with the JB's almost over. Don't understand why all of a sudden you have that infestation, Sis Kathy. Poor you. Guess it's more shopping to replace that much you had lost.

Marion, at least Kim cares not to overkill you on coffee! Lol!! Caffeine is bad for your heart and nerves you know!

I have a blind cat Possum, that have been with us for 4 years now. Yes, the one that wants to hide lately.
He's not been wanting to eat, no sign of illness and I've been feeding liquid foods through a syringe. I think that "feline influenza" that caused him to lose his eyes returned. Vet had told us that no kitties can survive that, and there are many that Kel had rescued and they grew to adults. I guess, it's never been eradicated from his system, but remained dormant, until the flare up.

We may lose him. A couple of days ago, I made a little sanctuary outside, a small space bordered by a wagon, file cabinet and an ac housing. Want him to feel the grass and the sun which he hasn't since Kel brought him home.
It's joy tainted with sadness to see him burrowing his nose in the weeds and grass. I then put him up on the file cabinet as the sun rays were hitting it.
He loved it! Stretched his neck to feel the warmth.

Couldn't repeat that yesterday before leaving for the hospital. He got much more weak. If I had known this, I'd stayed behind and feed him every few hours.
But God knows what's best for him. Yes, I'm prepared.
It's a chore to take care of a blind cat, but handsome Possum is another God's gift to me.
Here he is...

Waving to my sistahs, got to go... thanks LK for your help on RWB!
