Afternoon everyone.
Body's finally getting some rest and sleep.
Marion, you must be relieved to see Sue's mind getting stronger. Lord has given her some coping skills throught her therapist and church. She knows now that you'll never abandon her, yet accepting that you do have your own life which may not revolve around her.. that's important.
Cookie, our sis Kathy's one stubborn woman! She needs to take a pill and be normal!! Lol!
Sue, the hosta that you gave me years back, return each year, bigger than before. Thanks!
Have fun with Savannah! Oh to have a daughter and do girly stuffs!
Can you show us what Tom looks like??? IF you're bringing him to the RU you could at least bring him to the room! :D
How are my sistahs doing ... no appearance here means you are enjoying the outdoors!!
Rm. 287 "Sweet Interruptions"
Yay, Marion! So happy Sue is finally coping.
Time to plan a trip to Ohio!!😁
Hey Jaye. Glad your catching up on some sleep.
Not outside, bur at the sewing machine. Trying to get a project done for the red white and blue swap. Thought I had it all done, but when I took a picture of it, I realized I have one block sideways, so I need to take it out and turn it.
Not getting out to play in dirt, playing with dirt inside. I had a small end table with two drawers that I wanted to get rid of. I know I kept batteries for the various things like remotes, etc. in top drawer but found things I don't remember seeing before. Few things went in the trash and some to be recycled. I don't have a junk drawer, I have many junk drawers. Hoping to be able to order the hospital bed by Monday. It will be so much easier for everyone. I don't know how I became so unorganized, when I was young and working I had myself pretty organized. Must have been the man I married that turned me into organized confusion. LOL
Morning everyone.
It's been raining hails yesterday. Got caught in one when going to Myrtle Beach, and another on the way home. Can see some tree tops looked loopy!
No watering done today, grounds are soaked still.
Don't you hate it when you are being so careful with your work, pays close attention, always concentrating and boom... a mistake still snuck in LK?
I had done that too many times. It's that split second when your mind wanders elsewhere that will do the most damage.
I had finished one table topper for the RWB. And not satisfied with it. Might keep it for myself.
Oh yes, time for Sue's gathering plan Marion!
Cookie, it's an hour's drive from Sue's to your home right? Your pond should be on the schedule.
Hey Pegi! I'm the Queen of Organized Chaos. Me too have more than one junk drawer.
Lately, my mind is set to get rid of stuffs that I never use for years. Can't believe I had filled up three trash bags one day.. and that's just the tip of the iceberg.
Got lots of knick knacks in the house that I feel like packing up and donate to a church for their garage sale. Hate to think they'll be someone else's dusting chore!!
French roast coffee is ready. Beignets with lots of sugar for the brave!!
Yes, June will be here, hating the fact that it's still on for MIL's surgery.
I will have to replace my cell phone, as she doesn't have a land line. Kel doesn't see the necessity, but heck..bad enough my wifi isn't strong enough to reach her house, what does he expect? Total cut off from sane folks?
Pegi, this may not be necessary, but will you be given a hydraulic patient lift?
Kel's dad had one when he can't get in and out of the wheelchair by himself. BUT again MIL refused to use it and depend on Kel.
I had learnt to use it when taking care of my ex' dad. Really helpful when you're the only caretaker.
Well Jaye it seems Kel is in turd mode, if he doesn't think you need to be in touch, just tell him to find another care-taker for his mother. Betting he will change his tune in a hurry.
Karen I agree! Tell Kel, I get a new hone, or I will not watch your Mom!!!
Morning everyone! Thanks for breakfast Jaye!
This is my mistake. I never saw it till Todd held it up for a picture. 2nd row of blue blocks, 3rd block from the left is the mistake! All fixed now, I have the borders on, and it is quilted. All it needs is the binding. Posting it here, cause my buddy does not post here.

LOL Linda, I remember making a mistake once in a block swap that I didn't catch before mailing. I was sooooo embarrassed. Better believe I check over really well before sending now. I've put in blocks upside down in t-shirt quilts too, hubby usually catches my goofs. Good thing he has a good eye for detail, it's the machine tool training in him.
LK, I had to go back to the picture of your quilt again to find the goof. Heck, I'd never have noticed it. It is so pretty. I've done the same thing in my crocheting though, the maker always spots the goof before any one else. Haven't done any craft work in some time.
Don't know if I want to let Darwin have the use of the remote control for TV. He has a small TV in bedroom now and can mess it up and then expects me to fix it. He knows more about that stuff than I do. He decided to take a short nap, then will be calling on me to straighten it out again. So in between these short naps I come to the computer to check out mail, etc. Don't know about a lift for wheel chair since he is in bed all the time. It is something to check on though.
Back to work so I can get that bed in here. Darwin keeps asking if the bed comes today and I have to tell him I haven't ordered it yet. At least he drank his "liquid" breakfast; hoping each day I can tempt him with solid food.
Karen, I can't switch off that turd mode!!! Lolol.. love that description! When it gets to diarrhea, I'll be sure to leave for the bus station!
Didn't get the cell phone today, will look for a refurbish Samsung online, just tired of the simple ones that can't access online easily.
LK, that's such a pretty quilt!! Am so ashame that my buddy won't be getting as gorgeous as that.. wish you had my name. But then I already had so many wonderful perfect handmade gifts from you!

Pegi, that's what the lift looks like. A hoist actually that comes with a very wide sling. It's a big help when it's my turn to sit with ex' late dad. He's another giant, and getting him out of bed and into his chaie was not pain intensive for five foot me.
But the nurses will recommend you that when Darwin's mobility gets worse. Hope it never comes to that.
Thanks ladies, it was pretty easy to do!
Marion, you're lily bloomed yesterday, now my computer isn't working, so I can't post the picture.
Pegi, they used a lift/hoist similar to that when mom was moved at the nursing home....much easier and safer on the patient.
Jaye, do I need to come help with with the MIL? I am sufe between the 2 of us she would make a rapid recovery.
Yes, less if traffic is good, 45 minutes then! You must plan on it!
i can post a pic of Tom soon. He is kinda ... well.... nerdy ? ask Cookie LOL . He may not be the best looking but he makes up for it in so many other ways !!!!! * giggle* , his kindness is what makes me swoon. I just enjoy being with him he is so funny !

Ehem... Sis Kathy and electronics don't get along!!!
Cookie, if I can make it next year, a definite tour to your home! I must reacquaint myself to your swing and brisket!! Lol!!
Marion, I welcome any chances on a rapid cure for Kel's DM. She'd be heading straight to heaven after 2 days... I wish...
Oh Sue, you're like a schoolgirl all over again, gushing over Tom like that!!!!
Kel isn't an eye candy, but he does make me laugh and when he's not in his "turd" mode, his heart is gold.
LK, I have no reasons to drink a full glass tonight, but I'll drink half a glass for you.
Thanks Jaye.
I am off to bed, talk to you all in the morning!
I hope they never have to use a lift like that either, it almost looks like a torture machine. Nurse was telling me about the two hospice houses near us that I can have Darwin taken for 5 days a month if I need a break. Just have to know when they have a bed available since they do have regular patients. I think that is so great, but who knows what Affordable Care will do and make some cuts in medicare. She said they have already made many cuts. I actually think my legs are getting stronger with all the extra walking I have been doing these last few weeks. My balance will never get better, but have had to cope with that for many years. They really think of all the work the caregiver has to do and the rest she/he needs.
I had my son put the recliner out in front hoping someone comes along to take it. The homeless people would love to have it. It is in good shape yet, but if Darwin does get better and is able to get around I'll get him a new one. I have a nice glider that I can sit in to do my reading.
Off to bed as tomorrow will be another big day, waiting for the bed to come and be set up.
I did nothing to it.. It is the puter. It has windows new software on it-windows8.1.They haven't worked all the bugs out, the techs have a hard time working on it. They took over 100 viruses off of it, but are having a hard time tuning it up.
I have heard nothing good about windows 8! Hope you can get it fixed soon!
The wine did it's magic LK! I slept till 10!
Sending you some positive energy Pegi. You will ask for those five days break, Pegi, please. It's too much for one person to be taking care of a man... especially when you're not superwoman!
I know MIL would not remove FIL from the hospice center if Kel refused to help. Take the help to recharge.
Sis Kathy, yep, Windows 8 can be problematic.
That's what Kel did when he got his laptop. Our local geek got rid of Windows 8 and reinstall 7.
Seems that 8 'bugged' a lot of users, Sis Kathy.
By the way I love that spinner! And you spoilt Thunder for sure.
A wet day today, and I have the urge to do some RWB shopping. Nope.. not at the local Dollar General, but at the beach! Somehow the newer and bigger DGs have more to offer. Knowing me, I'll ask for a detour to Tuesday Morning or even HomeGoods.. love those places.
Kel's reluctant but a promise of Sonic's chilli cheese tots and a Pretzel bun hot dog sold him!!
Karen, when you get home, post some pictures! WIshing you a beautiful day today!
Wishing all my sistahs a happy and dry weekend!
Enjoy your shopping trip Jaye! Todd loves those chili cheese tots with jalapeno's!
Tom's not nerdy looking. He just looks smart!
It's a beautiful day here today. I'm so glad since Luke's open house is to be outside!!
I didn't get a chance to tell you that DGD Emma had to go to Children's Hospital on Thursday. DS Mark called me while I was at the grad ceremony. I didn't answer, but texted to see what was up. Turns out what her Mom thought was an infected hair follicle was actually a staph infection. They immediately started treating her for Mersa. They admitted her. Put her in an isolation room. They gave her 3 bags of IV antibiotic and by Friday the place on her knee was much reduced, she didn't have a fever anymore and her headache was gone. They let her go home with a 10 day supply of more antibiotics. They aren't positive it was Mersa, but definitely a staph infection. So glad she's recovering!!
I've been out this morning planting (trying to get all I bought in the ground or pots!) and weeding. Still have a few things to put in their final homes. Today is that Open House for Luke, and tomorrow a fabulous garden tour in Cincinnati. So I must make hay while the sun shines!!
Just finished my brunch (egg Sammy and coffee) and now it's time to head back to work! The humidity is low today which helps so much when you're planting! Speaking of planting, we got most of the garden in last night. It's a little late, but we've been later before!!
Hope you're all enjoying your Saturday!
Glad to hear Emma is healing!
Just got back from shopping. Gonna work on my other ugly wall.
Sissy, cute, cute cute!!
Kathy, I love your all!
Not Ugly anymore
Really like your ugly wall, which is NOT ugly.
Hospital bed came today and I got it all set up with sheets and blanket, then DH slowly got out of bed and made his way to his new sleeping space. Put another remote in his hand and now I hear the bed going up and down. Couldn't get the channel he wanted on TV and I'm supposed to fix it. He knows more about the remotes for TV than I ever will. Nurse also came out to check vitals. I had put his recliner out to the curb, hoping someone will take it. I stood in front of the door so he couldn't look out the window and see it. If someone doesn't take it tonight I will have to move it. Just too tired to try and put the living room back together. I did manage to get in an hour nap and that sure helped.
Cookie my goodness , poor Emma ! sending her love and hugs. many many healing energy thoughts going out to her .
Tom is coming tomorrow to help me paint. LOL Cookie he is smart too. Art, opera, jazz, He has a history major from college at Rutgers . He is always correcting my grammar.... lol i don't mind.
so painting will be my project tomorrow
hope to get some gardening done
Pegi glad you got a nap in. Those are always so benificial. Sending you hugs.
Wedding is now history. Good food, was so nice meeting the rest of Bryans family, good time was had by all. After we left the park we returned to the hotel to continue the celebration. Kids hit the pool and the adults....well we celebrated. Hotel was super nice, they said as long as someone was staying there, we were welcome to all come there and use the facilities. Father of the bride got them a room there for last night but they gave the bride access to the room early to get ready in also.
Dang air conditioner went out during the nite. Now that's more money to have it fixed. Gotta call the cooling and heating man. Thankfully, mine is cheap, never charges me a service call. Keep you toes crossed it's nothing major.
thank God, Emma's condition isn't as serious as Mersa. Cookie, family must be pacing floors, worrying and praying.
Pegi, just don't give Darwin a bell!! He'd be likely to use it unnecessarily! Kel's late dad would call out every few minutes for minor stuffs until he's hoarse.
That's the bad think with hospital beds. Best place to put will be the living room for most homes. It needs lots of free space around it.
Hope you get some rest today.
SIs Kathy you have a pretty wall!! You are also one lucky lady that Michael doesn't complain in helping you with your artistic wall art!
There you go again with electronics and appliances. Tell the preacher to douse you holy water to ward off those bad luck!
Beautiful couple, Karen. That's very nice of the hotel, Good business practice there.
Usually hotels allow hotel guests and 2 of their guests for use of their pool.
Bet the wedding feast was never ending!
It got to be a great morning! Sue fixed breakfast!! Yay!! Buy lottery tickets everyone!
Now's your chance to snap photos of Tom. Sue!!
It was a mixed shopping day yesterday LK.
A $200 comforter set that I paid $23 at almost 90 pecent off. Tuesday Morning was having a special sale on some bedding. Of course I was thrilled, quality jacquard and high count sheets! But when I laid out on the bed to try out, coke was accidentally spilled on it. Kel poured a whole can of Bond's medical powder so said to dry it out!!
Grrrrrrr... the stains.. the stains... rushed it to the washing machine.
Found a huge pillar of red white and blue candle, all in one at DG on sale for $3.75... and Kel lit it up without asking my permission!!! I don't care for candles burning in the bedroom, he knows that!
But what made it unforgivable, is he KNEW anything RWB, is for a swap!!! God knows I don't do RWB in MY bedroom.
Told him that he'd have to pay triple to get a replacement.
Anyone want an extra man???
MIL wanted to treat us to Mexican today. No refusals on Kel's part, but I'll just have the chicken soup.
I wanted to go in separate vehicles as I need to make a detour to get a pair of shoes for myself. He won't hear it, saying they'd be willing to wait in the car while I shop.
Think I'll take my time... and while I'm at the store.. maybe look for a new shirt... :D
Have a better Sunday sistahs.. yes, another day where Kel avoid church.
SisJaye, I will be praying for your sanity at church today. You're a better woman than I am.
Glad you got a good deal on the comforter set Jaye! Hope the coke and powder washed out OK! Don't know what I would do if hubby lit a candle, he knew was for a swap!
Sue, thanks for breakfast!
I woke up this morning with a swollen eye! It is probably allergies, but I feel like a pirate trying to look out with just one eye! I took a claritin, and I am hoping that will help!
Kathy, I hope your AC is an easy fix!
OMG, Darwin thinks the bed is a chair and he still wants to sleep in the bedroom. No, not a chair but a bed, is he trying to confuse me or does he really get things so mixed up!! Couldn't wait for the bed to come and now is complaining. The remote for the bed is getting a work out, but things move too slow for him and now says he thinks it is broken. If he would get up and try walking around I would get him a walker, but I know he wouldn't try very hard. He made it from the bed room to the living room with tiny baby steps, a cane in one hand and the other against a wall. Maybe it will just take some time for him to adjust to things.
Betty, our wonderful Canadian/American lady, sent me the most beautiful fabric bag, I'll take a picture of it to post. I have acquired such a wonderful group of friends through the Internet. I say a prayer of thanks for all of them.
