Would you believe, as I am writting this, that nasty white stuff is littering the ground?
OH NO! Sure hope it warms up soon for you Karen!
Seventies here and my cats are happy! Think the grounds are flooded, with all that rains we had last night.
My poor poor Karen. Color that blue.. turn to rain please Lord. Time for winter jackets to be over!!
It's not going to last will be back to rain soon, but good grief enough is enough.
Next time, have some chocolate ice cream. Don't you know cookies are better eaten during cold days?? Lololol!!
Where? Ice cream and no one called me? Cookies...oh wait, Karen did tell me to come on up that there were plenty.
No baking here as Kim had the stomach flu..we think. Living on Gatorade.
Oh oh, hope Kim is better soon. Did you get your new oven, Maid M?
Karen I'm sitting on the swing with my coffee huddled in a winter jacket! I so hear you about enough!!
We have had so much rain, the earth is squishy, but the hosta are happy!!
Didn't get to bed until 6:30 this morning. Spent the night in the ER with Bill. Sigh...all tests came back negative, but he just didn't feel right. He thought he might be having a stroke or have a blood clot in his left leg. He's feeling better today. It's a scary thing. Didn't get out of bed till almost 11:00.
In the second pic can you see my fairy houses?
Cookie, sorry to hear about Bill, sending prayers your way. Hope your both resting today!
Love the explosions in your yard, and those fairy house are so cute! You made them?
Heading downstate tomorrow for DGDs Confirmation then on to TN to prepare for oldest DGDs wedding.
Let my oldest son's b'day fall right out of my head. it's Monday. I always make him a rhubarb pie as it's his favorite. No rhubarb in any store, been too cold and rainy. Called local farm market same story except he did find a couple hills that were planted on higher ground. I ran and got it, no charge. No way near enough for a pie. What to do. I'm worrying on the way home when all of a sudden in a yard near here I see rhubarb. Drove in and knocked on the door. Told the young man my sad story, He said if I cam back on Sun. his mom would be home ans he was sure she would let me have some. Said thanks anyhow but I had to leave town in the morning. He then said go ahead and get what ever I needed. Yippee! Got plenty for a pie. Also got some strawberries as I usually make him a rhubarb and a strawberry rhubarb for the rest. Used all the rhubarb in his pie so other is just strawberries.
Glad you got your rhubarb! Karen on a mission!
I didn't rest today. Too much to do, but I'm resting now!!
Tomorrow is our Garden Club plant sale and then DGD wedding. Wish me luck!!
Lots of luck Cookie.
I'm sure both will be wonderful Cookie!!!!
Have fun Sissy
Morning everyone! How are you all doing today?
Great, loading the car for first leg downstate. Then on to TN tomorrow.
Playing "gofer" for my son..he is working on the dungeon and I keep his coffee cup filled. Tough job but someone has to do it.
Palliative Care nurse came out today and of course Darwin was in a miserable state again. She was a sweet young thing, but sometimes hard to understand. She signed him up for the program and then proceeded to try and fix the constipation problem. What a stinky job and she didn't mind it at all, guess that is what a good nurse does. It was bad, but I think she got the problem half solved. If after mineral oil by mouth doesn't finish up the job to call her and she will come back at 8 PM. I know that was most of his pain. She left a booklet full of papers for me so have to do some reading. Oncologist has set him up for the rest of the chemo/radium shots. Now, maybe I can get him to eat and start putting some weight back on. If I need someone to bathe him all I have to do is call. Really getting harder all the time. Thank God it has cooled down a little, not much but it does help.
I know you have all heard about the San Diego fires, some loony out there doing evil work again. She lives not too far from them and they did evacuate her for a little while. She is back in her home again, but so scary. This is the second time the fires caused her to leave her home, several years ago they did let her in to get her house papers, etc. She lives in a beautiful area. Beautiful garden areas Gardenlady!
Pegi sorry for Darwin. Wish there was something anyone could do for him. Sound like you have someone to help now in the nurse. Should help you out also. Praying for you guys. Weddings going on I see. Always a great time. Nice weather I hope. My weekend to work first day back from vaca. Then I went and worked at the community garden a lady is starting. Needs lots of work but they got a whole load of mulch today and it looks really nice.
Pegi, good that Darwin's getting some relief. Those papers must have given you a dull headache. Prayers and hugs for you, they are all we can help with from far..
Ronna, I saw some of your Chi town visit, pics on FB! You sure do look happy. I like your miniature garden creation.
I'd welcome those explosions in my yard, anytime!
Lolol.. Karen on a mission!! You go to the ends just to make your son happy! What a woman! Wishing you a safe trip sistah.
You'd do fine Cookie. Take pictures of your DGD's wedding.
Besides coffee, will you be fixing his favorite meat loaf Marion?
Wanna tell you that I'm a good wife.. got Kel some frozen meat loaf!
God is good. Had to do some shopping and stop at a local diner for lunch after.
Kel was being unreasonable chose to pick on some minor things, and instead of adding fuel to fire, I just prayed silently in the truck, asking Him to heal my legs so I could drive to church one day.
It's been more than a year now, and 2 for Kel that I haven't seen the inside of my old church. I sure miss the fellowship.
After we seated ourselves, a waitress moved tables close together across from us. Guess a huge party's expected.
Then about 20 showed up, and a curtain was drawn across to act as a divider from the rest of the diners.
We heard prayers, then this beautiful baritone voice sang "How Great Thou Art"... my favorite gospel. After the solo, 3 more group songs. I cried... God knows how much I miss church and He brought church to me.
That's my joy for the rest of the day.
Chocolate Chip cookies are OK, but my favorite is peanut butter. How I love that stuff and so fattening. LOL I used to bake a lot, but no one to eat it now. I usually would pick one of the warmest days to turn the oven on too. We used to get some nice rainy days and then I liked to bake too, but rain has been out of our area for a long time.
Going to take time out to have myself something to eat and then do some reading. Haven't talked Darwin into eating any thing yet, but he just got cleaned out and probably doesn't want to put anything more in his stomach. He is down to 155 lbs. and would like him to put some more weight on.
Sorry I've not been on..... and I can't keep up with you ladies!!
Bob & I are both enjoying our jobs!!
lol yesterday I got a call from the police - apparently "Bob's" truck (the one he sold the beginning of Feb) was found apparently abandoned, and his old license plate was in the back seat so they figured it was still registered to him and called about it. I gave them the name & email address of the fellow who bought it. They said that Parking Patrol may still call us about it, but today the police came by to drop off the license plate, which we can drop off at the Registry.
Today, I got a call from the police - this time about the rear-ender that I was involved in on May 2nd. I hadn't gotten around to reporting it. I was hit from behind by someone who was hit from behind lol
I just have a scratch on my bumper....... nothing to worry about. I'm ok too :-)
Boy, it sure was a "police" couple of days lol
So good to see you Susan, Glad to hear jobs are going well. Geeze try to stay away from the long arms of the law, you'll have your neighbors all wondering what's going on.
Nice to see you pop in Susan! Glad to hear your both happy with your jobs!
Happy to hear both of you are enjoying your jobs, Susan. It has been a long time coming for both of you.
We now have Palliative Care to help us out. Dr. doesn't think he needs hospice yet but the nurse who came out mentioned it again. Everything would be paid for and he can stay at home. For those who don't have medicare the prices are so high for all this care. I'm thinking maybe Bill Gates could afford long term hospice care. Such a dedicated young nurse came out twice in the same day,
I'm off to trying to get myself ready for the day, going to be warm but not like the 100 plus temps. we were having.
Pegi believe me peanut butter cookies are a huge hit at the hospital where I work. When they are still hot, just out of the oven. I smash a peanut butter cup in the middle of the huge cookie. They just eat them up like crazy. It is a wonderful recipe we have at the hospital. Nice and soft!!!! I am sure you would love them. So sorry for Darwins health.
Oh, prayers continue for Jess.
Goodness, he looks a mess, can't imagine what he looked like before! Sending prayers!
